Squad made reservations for the Old School brunch they have once a month. Service was top notch! We had a large beef tartare (best in the city and they accommodated the request - the large wasn't on the brunch menu), short rib grill cheese with strawberry ketchup (It works and would eat it everyday), waygu burger (very flavourful), modern brunch platter for 2 (the Waugh steak and the to die for banana bread French toast were the stars!!!). Great value, awesome DJs, ambience, service, and would recommend modern steak in a heartbeat.
This restaurant name says it all! Food is great, service is excellent! Why? … By the time you get in you will be greeted by a very friendly host as if you were there few times, waiter is so on point he has a sense of connection to the customer amd knowledge of the menu! The food, OH my goodness, I couldn't express in words all I can say is that you will forget everything! Don't forget to try baked Alaska! Haaahhhhh! .. They even gave my partner a birthday card which never happened in the past of our date night with an occasion. Very recommended! Its worth to eat in this Gourmet Modern Steak Restaurant! :)
I've never have a bad time at modern but the Lagarde dinner was hands down not only the best dinner I've had there but one of the best ever!! From start to finish it was amazing. It was quite a privilege to attend that dinner and would recommend if you get a chance to go you take it. You wont regret it!
This place was fantastic! The hostess at the front was friendly and polite and the service was wonderful! Our server was George and he was very nice and knowledgeable when I had questions about the drinks and food. I highly recommend the white sangria!! I had a great experience here and would definitely go back. Great atmosohere and overall experience! :)
We had an outstanding experience at modern steak. Our server George was top notch. The food was to die for, we had the cheese fondue as well as a tomahawk for two. We will definitely be returning in the future.
First time to Modern Steak. Not only was the meal spectacular, our server Brendon made it one of the best dining experiences ever. Modern Steak nailed it!!!! My new favourite restaurant in Calgary for sure.

We were extremely well served by George and had a great visit with Stephen, the owner.
We went here for my birthday. As soon as we walked in until the time we left, the service was phenomenal. Our server was George, and he was very knowledgeable about all of their products, and extremely friendly. He went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we wanted. I’ve never had better food in my life. Literally the best tasting steak. Everything was extremely flavourful. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Delicious dinner tonight! Portion size was great! While they had no kids menu they did go above and beyond to accommodate and welcome the little ones! Atmosphere was lovely and the service from George and the kitchen was amazing! Thank you modern steak for a wonderful evening!
We had a wonderful experience last night at Modern Steak. We were greeted warmly and received superb service from Cam, start to finish. The entrees were top notch, one of the best steaks I've ever had! Wine pairings were on point, as was the music. We will definitely be back soon!

City staple, old school look and feel, with top notch service and food quality.
The best part for me was the middle table we had with view of the chef. How he kept straight which steak was for which table is beyond me. It was a perfect dance, constantly in and out of "stage" ;) and "backstage".
Desserts are ok, not up to par to the service and steaks, but still giving them 5 stars (which I rarely do).
The inside is really nice and I love their lounge area. Good ambience and decor when it’s not super busy. The food was super yummy and really good quality. Although I felt that their cheesecake was a tad too creamy for me. Overall great experience and I would definitely revisit in the future.
Great steaks and services. The ambience is really "extra", making you feel like travelling in time to dine in the 70s. It got surprisingly busy at lunch so better reserve ahead. The steak was delicious medium-rare, though I feel rare doneness would bring out more flavour and tenderness. The baked potatoes were amazing. Staff was very efficient and corteous.
This place looks much better inside! We live on 4 Ave, drive by everyday, first time here today. We were planning to go to the Willow park location. Let’s be honest, this place looks unattractive from street view. It was actually really nice inside with high quality Roman style decor classic lounge style. Pan fried shrimps are perfectly cooked. Meat is really high quality and professionally done. The T bone is better than Hys in my opinion, but the New York Strip lost to Hys. Overall great food good experience. Highly recommend Will come back again!
I'm visiting from Toronto and this was one of the best dinners I've had in a while. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top-notch. Arnel was one of the best waiters I have ever encountered. He was friendly, helpful, paid attention to detail and went above and beyond making the dinner experience very pleasant. We ordered the table side salad and it was so interesting to see the Ceasar salad dressing made from scratch. The steaks were cooked perfectly - medium rare. Their signature potato was so good!! It's twice baked and stuff. We ordered the rib eye, t-bone and filet mignon. It's my first time visiting Alberta and I knew I had to try steak. I'm glad I had it at Caesar's steak house. Caesar's Steakhouse is an institution in Calgary. The downtown location, where we ate, is still going strong after 50 years. There is value in experience.
Tuesday evening, the dining room was full.
We had a reservation and were promptly seated.
Within 5 minutes, our waiter, Constantine, took our drink orders. Soon after, he took our food order. Appetizers, a soup and a salad, cheese and garlic bread arrived within minutes as well.
We ordered a Chateaubriand steak. It arrived about 1/2 hour after ordering. This is a two-person shared dish, cut and served table side. I requested Dijon mustard and horseradish as condiments and they were also served without delay.
The steak was delicious. It came with a stuffed baked potato, asparagus and a few other lightly pan fried vegetables.
Sour cream, bacon bits and chives soon crowned our potatoes, which almost completed with the meat for attention on our plates! It too was very tasty.
Bearnaise sauce completed the plate. It was memorable.
For desert, we had a pavlova meringue cake, which was worthy of the main course.
Overall, we were amazed at the quality of the service, despite the room being almost full.
The meat, Alberta beef, expertly prepared and served, was the star of the show. Every additional component on our plates was fresh and showed attention to detail.
I have been to Caesar's a few times, years ago but post Covid, we were not sure what to expect. This turned out to be a real treat.
Would I go back? Absolutely.
Would I change anything? Perhaps I would order medium rather than medium rare. A matter of taste.
Regardless, exceptional service, attention to detail and phenomenal, local food never goes out of style.
Top marks for Caesar's. Let's hope they keep doing what they do for at least another 50 more years!
