We had the beef tenderloin and it was the best one I had in Calgary so far. It was extremely tender and it came with a very sophisticated and delightful choice of side vegetables and puree. If you are a chocolate lover, the Death by Chocolate mousse is to die for. There a few places in Calgary that can live up to my fine dining expectations and the Bow Valley Ranche is on the top of the list by far. Disclaimer: I work for the Great Events Group but this did not influence my honest unbiased opinion.

Excellent service and food! I had the veal - so tender! And my husband had the ling cod - he says the seafood chowder that accompanied the ling cod was excellent. We have been here several times now and every time has been fabulous. This time we were celebrating our anniversary - food, wine, and service including the special "happy anniversary" chocolate sign on our dessert was fabulous. BTW the "death by chocolate" dessert was soooo good

Service was excellent! Appetizer prawns, veal and beef tenderloin were all delicious. I wouldn't recommend the tiramisu for dessert, but I'm sure their other desserts are great. Can't wait to go for brunch!

Took my hubby there for his birthday/Father's Day dinner. Amazing food and wine! Great service! Beautiful atmosphere! So glad we were sitting in a separate room with the door closed while a wedding reception was going on in the large dining room as speeches over the PA system was quite loud.

We celebrated my Mom's retirement dinner here on April. 28, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Gracious friendly hosting, superb unique food, beautiful atmosphere. Our waiter, Martin, was exceptional! He offered to take photos for us, including outside, and made excellent recommendations. When the staff found out what we were celebrating, they added a special feature to a dessert for my Mom. Looking forward to returning!

Went for brunch December 17,2017 and my family and I loved it. The food was so delicious, presentation lovely and our waitress was so warm and friendly. Coffee and water was replenished often without asking. Very attentive service. We will be back with pleasure.

We went for brunch on my birthday and had exceptional food and service. You can really tell the difference having locally sourced ingredients. The setting in Fish Creek Park is peaceful and relaxing which adds to the overall atmosphere. Pretty pricey but definitely a go to place for special occasions. I think we will book dinner for our 25th next month :)

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner, we sat on the patio, and it was beautiful out, our server was amazing, she was very attentive and friendly. I had the lamb and my boyfriend had the tenderloin both were delicious and cooked perfectly. We also shared a bottle of wine, there were tons of choices. It was hands down the best lamb I have ever had. We had the death by chocolate for dessert, which was my new favourite dessert. Every person that walks into this restaurant should eat this dessert. Our server also brought us the cake pop dessert because we were celebrating. :) We can't wait to go back and try more items.

Seems like the weather has finally turned around in the city and the roads have cleared and I can confidently say that summer is just around the corner! It has been a crazy winter, one that didn’t seem like it was ever going to end. Luckily for me, there was lots of yummy eats that really got me through the season including this amazing meal we shared at Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant earlier this year. Although it was quite chilly when we made our way down, it was like stepping out in to a winter wonderland and enjoying some quiet time outside the hustle and bustle of the city.Atmosphere: Cozy and intimate, a great location for that special night out with your significant other or a lovely brunch.Price Range: Mid $10s - $30+

After living in Calgary over 30 years, my wife and I recently had dinner at the BVR. We enjoy good food with interesting ambiance and now feel we have been missing out for a number of years. It has only been one visit but the surroundings were great, the service very good, and the food quality, taste and presentation competes with anything we have visited within the Calgary area. Its not cheap but if you are fortunate to afford, you would be doing a disservice not to consider this restaurant for a lovely romantic evening.

Bow Valley Ranche is located off the beaten track, right in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Don’t make the same mistakes we did attempting to find this place. There’s only one way to get there by car (don’t trust GPS!). For some reason, certain areas of the park are closed off so you’ll get stuck if you attempt to drive through it. Bike there instead.😉

Must try! Amazing location. We sat on the patio that has a lovely view of fish creek park. The service was great and the food was very yummy. We tried the caprese salad, cheese and meat charcuterie board. We also had a few cocktails that were made to perfection.

Brought my mom here for her bday tonight along with my brother and husband. It was our first time here and I was excited since I have heard great thing about this place and wanted to take my mom somewhere special for her 60th birthday. When you walk in its like walking into a house, there are many rooms divided up looks like a living room and lounging area then when you go to your left there is a big dining hall. Service was fantastic and the food was exquisite. We got the wild boar belly and elk tartar to start and they were awesome! I tried a piece of my brothers pork chop and my mom's lamb sirloin and they where both tasty. I would recommend the lamb sirloin though. My rabbit & and foie Gras roulade was on point and very well seasoned and sauce was great. My husband said his steelhead trout that was the daily special was delish. We got the s'mores and white chocolate raspberry creme Brulee dessert was good. Would totally come back again and I recommend this place to anyone that wants an exceptional meal.

It’s pretty neat that the three of us who dinner together once a month all have our birthday’s within 2 weeks of each other. We decided to go somewhere ‘fancy’ for our joint birthday dinner and chose Bow Valley Ranche way down south in Fish Creek Park. None of us had been here before, and because it’s winter in Canada, it was pitch black by the time we arrived. It was truly hard to find this place! We drove past the first beige sign on the right side of Bow Bottom Trail because we were following the GPS navigation. Don’t do that! If you follow Garmin’s directions it takes you further south into the boonies. It was, however, nice to see the deer browsing the fields in the glimmer of our headlights. We did a u-turn in the darkness and headed back to the beige sign (the text that most stands out on the sign is for Annie’s bakery). So, we took that side road west until we came to a parking lot. There was another beige sign for Bow Valley Ranche/Annie’s but no real directions on where to go. We zig-zagged our way through the empty parking lot until we saw the large house with blue Christmas lights on it. With no signage, we figured out the only way to get there was by taking a non-descript road on the south side of the parking lot. This road took us to another parking lot, specifically for the restaurant. Does this sound confusing? That’s because it was!

The Bow Valley Ranche is always an outstanding experience. Specializing in local game and locally grown ingredients, you'd think that the food would be tough to eat, but it's prepared so well sometimes you forget you're eating wild food. They're a great option for those looking for organic and sustainable food.

My last trip to this restaurant I started with the Wild Boar Belly. It was a very soft cut of pork slathered with a sweet sauce with a slight smoky finish. The meat cut away like butter and was incredibly satisfying. It was also a nice size that alone it could be good enough for a meal.

The Deconstructed Venison Wellington was the highlight with the soft and tender meat placed on top of a thin hard pastry. Covered in a nice sweet demi glaze, the meat could be mistaken for lamb and not venison. This is definitely a dish I'd get on a return visit. Great quality.

I do have to mention the house-made garlic and olive bread to start the meal. Small cuts of bread with large chunks of garlic and olives. It's pretty addicting you have to be careful not to fill up on it at the beginning.

A quaint little house converted into a restaurant, the Ranche has been a great spot to go for a nice date or family dinner. Service is impeccable and the food is high quality and well-prepared. Prices are at a $35+ mark for entrees and well worth it for a off the beaten track fine dining spot.

One of the best evenings in a long time!. My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary with dinner at Bow Valley Ranche last night and we cannot express how much we enjoyed our evening. The food, the service and the atmosphere were all spectacular. So many small details combined to make it perfect anniversary for us both! The restaurant worked with my husband to receive a flower delivery during the day and ensured that they were waiting on our table when we arrived. Each person who came to our table to take orders, check in on how we were doing or fill our water glasses kindly passed on Happy Anniversary wishes to us - which added an extra special touch to our celebration! Most importantly, though, we cannot say enough about the meal - which was exceptional and definitely made our night! It was all perfectly cooked, delicious and filling and our dessert orders even included a sweet piece of chocolate with the words "Happy Anniversary" written on top. Thanks, to Bow Valley Ranche for an incredible evening - our first time at your restaurant will definitely not be our last!

The perfect treat for special occasions. My husband and I went here for our first anniversary because we were married in Fish Creek and were feeling reminiscent. We were greeted by a friendly, soft-spoken, professional server Arthur. He was very efficient but was careful not to interrupt our evening. We started off with the charcuterie board which had a spread of home made breads, cheeses, local smoked meats and relishes that were to-die-for. My husband took Arthur's request and ordered the lamb shank and I had the cornish hen. Both were full of flavour and were so rich and savoury I shutter at the thought of how many calories were in each. The presentation was first class. The best part of our meal was the desserts at the end. A warm fig pudding and a panna cotta. One dessert would have been more than enough but they were so decadent we ate them both with not so much as a crumb left of the plate. We have been raving about The Ranche to our friends and family. Not your every-day kind of joint (unless you have deeper pockets and more time to allocate to dinner than us) but just perfect for a celebration.

Very Special Place. Living in this area of town, it's a wonder we haven't had a date night here earlier. A simply beautiful location and wonderful food. If you are looking for a top quality place for a special occasion, this would be it.

For appetizer we tried the Crispy Pork Belly (Smoked apple pudding, Misty Mountain porcini mushroom marmalade, shiso) and it was amazing.... I'm still thinking about it and want to go back again for this dish. Probably my favourite dish of the night, with the sweet apple pudding/savory pork and a crispy chip. Everything went so well together.

For entrees, he had the Pecan-Crusted Berkshire Pork Tenderloin (Forest mushroom, baby onions, organic honey and mustard sauce, pan-dripping barley risotto.) I could not stop stealing his risotto.... it was so good. He really enjoyed this dish.

I had the Apple, Goat Cheese and Spinach-Stuffed Free-Run Chicken Breast Supréme (Herbed spaetzle, grilled fennel, red wine cream sauce.) Lovely and fresh. I was getting quite full at this point.

For dessert - we couldn't agree on one as we usually share, so I tried the Berry Pavlova (Meringue, curd, coulis, maple cream) and he had the Apple & Fig Pudding (With honey caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream). We should have shared as we were quite full but were sooooo happy with these desserts there were no regrets haha.

All their dishes were impeccably presented and delicious.

We have been going to The Ranche for the last 7.5 years and it has always been a special place to us. We were skeptical to go to the new "Bow Valley Ranche" as we were worried things would have changed. Let me tell you we were not disappointed at all. The service was great! The food was even better! We did a 5 course tasting menu with wine parings and everything was very very good. We will be back!
