Awesome food specially the roast beef, roast ham, roast chicken and their meat and mushroom sauce, Plus the price is very reasonable and friendly folks serves you, Worth it to come back.
Super I really love the chicken I'm one of the best food in town for the price
Great place to hang out with friends. Foods taste just fine if you are not too picky.
Consistent quality. Amazing results. Restrooms are not overly clean, but not terrible.
Very good price good selections love the food my favorite place
i havent been there in long time im thinking of going back it a awsome place good stuff to eat good people i cant ask anymore im thinking going this friday or saturday or next week. lll see
The bus boys here are really cute! I also really like the chicken I think it might be the best I've tried can't
Wait to come back my friend and I are planning a visit on Sunday when they bring out the tandoori chicken
Come on, what's with all the negative reviews? I have been going here for years. The price is, the people are friendly, and the place is older but clean. You get a full meal at a reasonable price! For $10 to $15 for all you can eat, beats the junk food restaurants and they serve real food and great chicken.
Great place. Was bit apprehensive after reading some negative reviews. But we loved the place. Good was good, so we're the staff. There is always someone to refill and collect dishes. We are from Australia and was really amazed to see such a huge range of dishes at such an affordable price.
I remember this from when I was a kid. Not much has changed. Decent food, nothing to write home about, but you will leave full. Lots of selection, kids all found something they liked. Seemed a little pricey for the kids dinner buffet. Fed 5 of use for less than 60 dollars.
Roast Beef. Doneness perfect
Finally, non-Asian buffet!. I've lived in Canada for 15 years and have never found a buffet that was more American/Canadian food and not some kind of Asian/Indian.
Their baked and fried chicken was out of this world. Hot and FRESH so good! The salad bar was hit and miss, though the veggies were fresh, the other salads were a little...not great. Just didn't like them. They have THE BEST coffee I've had in ages, and my personal favorite, because I've never gotten this anywhere... There is a diabetic section of the dessert case. Very nice!
Being on a strict diet I didn't try everything. The stew, I just tried the meat, and it was okay. The soups were homemade, which impressed me, if the actual flavor didn't. There were lots of other things I couldn't eat, but they sure looked good.
Oh! The cabbage rolls were Y U M M Y!
Cafeteria Food. Drop in if you want to gorge on a variety of western and eastern dishes. Don't miss the well stocked dessert bar hiding at the back.
Value and nostalgia.. Came here with some friends. You're either eating here for nostalgia as a kid or because you're looking for value. The hot foods aren't bad, albeit salty in my opinion. The beef, though well-cooked, is actually tender, and the roasted chicken is actually flavourful. The selection is what you'd expect at a buffet, and it's very cafeteria-style. There's desserts and drinks at the back of the place, and ice cream is pretty much the draw there.
Still, at fifteen bucks it's not bad if you want a cheap buffet. There really isn't any other place in Vancouver (since many are Indian, Japanese, or expensive). It's a guilty pleasure.
Not Too Shabby. My honest opinion is that you get what you pay for here. It's not going to be a lavish Vegas-style buffet for $15 but what you do get is a decent variety of hearty food items: salad bar, diner food, roast beef, fried chicken, fountain pop, etc. Desert section is a little lacking but the soft-served ice cream machine more than makes up for that. In a city where the living standard is continuously increasing, $15 dollars for an all-you-can-eat meal really isn't too shabby.
Evidently a bad experience buy another reviewer! However, I have been eating in this place for years and with the exception of the occasional warm food rather than hot food, it's really not bad at all for the price. The service is always friendly, and the food plentiful. Because of the set up, people have to pay before they come in to eat. Otherwise, they can't control things. The salads are fresh, the barbecue chicken is excellent, and the handcarved beef (although not the highest quality of beef), is good too. I ate here before the previous owner sold out, and the present management is doing a fine job. Admittedly, it's not a gourmet meal… but for the money, the quantity is good and the choices are plentiful and the food tastes just fine.
Guilty Pleasure. Uncle Willy's does cheap buffet and they do it well. It's no Sunday Brunch at a nice hotel, but they're not trying to be. They stick to cooking low(er)-end foods and they do it very well. It was one of my favourite places as a child and every visit nowadays brings back fond memories.
Yes, yes a million times yes I would return. Uncle Willy’s is like that favourite uncle ready to give you a big hug after a horrible day where the food is 95% terrible (which is really only a minor detail in the grand scheme of things).
This buffet has been here for a really long time, you can tell by the gas light tubes inside the restaurant that the place is vintage. When you arrive at Uncle Willy's you'll notice that the doors have an open and closing direction. After you enter through the entrance, you will be at the cashier where you have to pay first. The price for a lunch is usually around $12 and dinner is around $15 for adults. The cashier was slightly on the impolite side, but the thing about All you can eat buffets is that I don't think there is a custom to tip.. (or is there?!), so I wouldn't blame them. After we paid for our meal, we found ourselves a big table that could fit all of us. The tables and the silverware look like it's been around for a few decades. The plastic looking plates and forks have dents in them and it seems like they've been used for decades. The trays also look vintage as well. With regards to food, there are quite abit of options. At the beginning of the buffet station, is
Like several other places I’ve been to, Uncle Willy’s is like a time capsule stuck in the 1980’s. The decor is so dated, especially with the ghetto neon lighting, the retro booths, and the, interestingly enough, original ice cream machine.
I know what you're thinking, what the hell is Uncle Willy's doing on this blog? But you know what? It's really not as nasty as you may think. My earliest memories of Uncle Willy's was back in the 80's when they first opened. All-you-can-eat was the in thi
