I drove by this place many times and finally I gave it a try and wasn't disappointed. We ordered the fried noodle, beef noodle soup, and dan dan noodle. All very good. The dan dan noodle looks spicy but not overly hot. Price is good, the owner was serving and he was friendly. I compliment the noodle is very tasty and the owner told me their noodle is handmade in house. I definitely will go again.
H and I were tired and hungry after a long day of work, looking for a place to eat around Metrotown. We were craving some Shanghai food, but Wang’s was closeed. As luck would have it, We drove past this little strip mall, and noticed Preference:. We had the pig intestine noodle. We also had this spicy pork dish.
The noodles with fish are really good. I visited twice after a friend recommended the beef noodles. The place is open late (11:30 pm every day) and the owner (?) offers us tea even when we're just getting takeout, both of which are great. All of us got noodles both times (beef, tomato & egg, fish & pickled veggie) -- the noodles have a nice flavour and texture, and the soup is also full of flavour without being full of oil or MSG.
The restaurant itself is small but bright and clean. I visit pretty late, so I don't know how crowded it'd be around dinner time. Prices are a bit high for Chinese food, but okay for Vancouver in general. The owner (?) and staff are very polite and answer the phone really quickly.
The first impression that I got from this small Chinese restaurant is their great food. The interior design is extremely Chinese that they hang some red Chinese lanterns outside the restaurant. Decorations inside the restaurant are also in red and a very Chinese style.
The hard copy of the menu is very beautiful with a hard cover. The only concerns that I had when I was reviewing the menu are the pictures without descriptions. I did not know what the pictures were referring to which dishes of food listed on the menu.
Two of us ordered a dish of cold appetizer which was some jelly fish and carrots and cucumbers. The main course was a dish of fried noodles with lamb with satay sauce. The food tasted excellent. The noodles were chewy; the lamb tasted great with the satay sauce; and the tea tasted good as well. I saw other dishes of food at other customers' tables. They all looked delicious!
The pricing of the food here was average. It would be better if I came here with more friends, so we could share the food.
There is no parking in front of the restaurant. I had to drive around and look for parking on streets.
A really good place to go if you are looking for Sichuan and Taiwanese food. We tried牛肉面,辣子鸡,油辣子拌面, 夫妻肺片, 川北凉粉. They were super tasty, seriously cheap and were in oversized portions. I really recommend this place.
