my almost only place of choice for sushi unless it is closed when I am off...
Ordered a takeout a few times. Such great, low prices and really great sushi for the price. One of my favourite cheap eats! Feel like the menu also has sensible combos.
In my opinion, the best value sushi joint in the area. It's not the best tasting sushi by far and the ingredients aren't the most fresh, but I haven't had any stomach problems, you pay for what you get. The portions are huge for the price. The chinese family running the place is pretty nice too. I usually get the chicken or beef teriyaki box combo for $8, and that fills me up to the brim. If you prefer quality over quantity, then sushi town or sushi garden is better for you. But if you want to be filled up with the lowest price around, this is it.
They need to start giving out VIP cards of some sort for the frequent and consistent visits :)
It's a small but cozy place. Nothing fancy and they don't use fancy platters - in fact they use disposable plates, utensil and thin cheap napkins. I would prefer them to be more or aim towards a more Eco-friendly perspective but if it works for them, it works for them.
(Being Eco-friendly and also saving some $$ on purchasing all these disposable one time use utensils)
Their sushi portions and prices are very reasonable, one of the reasons why I keep coming back! They have really friendly employees working there, keep it up is probably the only thing I would have to say to them if needed.
Great local N Bby sushi place with good service from the owner and reasonable prices. I always order takeout from here. Bento Box and Hong Sushi roll are my go-to items for takeout.
Best value and very good quality!!! The staff is awesome!!! I have the special combo under 7 dollar and you'll be full! Come with 3 rolls and miso soup! There lunch boxes and party trey is always a delight to bring to parties and family pot lucks!!! Will always go here first before other sushi places
Best place for take out & party trays ! Love stopping in with friends !
Hoseman. My wife and stop in on the odd weekend and have lunch. Excellent food as it is always fresh and tastes that way. Even the odd night on the way home from work I will pick up a take out for dinner. Well worth the stop in if you like sushi.
Solid Food. Well it's a hole in the wall, primarily set up for take out. You can eat in but don't expect real dishes you are eating in take out containers. I don't really care as the place is always busy so the food is fresh. And that's what matters to me when I'm having Japanese food. Nothing worst than smelly fish and this place does not have that, the fish here is fresh. In fact their rolls are nicely prepared (they even have fancy rolls) and they have an awesome miso soup. I have come to eat here regularly lately and I always enjoy it. I'll be back.

Excellent sushi for great value. I have had sushi from many places in North Burnaby and this one is my favourite. The sushi special is amazing value! The tuna is always just the way it should be - very fresh. The servings are generous, as well.

Hong Sushi is a small Japanese cuisine, Chinese owned restaurant in North Burnaby on Hastings. I have passed the restaurant numerous times and never thought much of them, however, after reading a few reviews on Urbanspoon I decided to visit the restaurant for a late lunch. When we entered the restaurant, the staff was having lunch and one of them immediately got up to grab us tea. The restaurant has geisha photos on one side of the wall, and photos of their dishes on the other. The restaurant also has some Chinese nicknacks such as the lucky cats. As the restaurant is a small sushi joint, most people grabbed take out or had a quick five to ten minute meal. The restaurant only has six single chairs, two tables for four, and one table for two. The larger tables have plastic spoons, containers for wasabi and soy sauce, chop sticks, and napkins. After waiting a while for the menu, I realized they are on the table! The most mentioned thing about the restaurant are the styrofoam plates. Am
