Go while it's still there.. This place is tucked away in a burnaby corner . You can't see it from the street. It's changed owners through the years but they've stayed true to mikes original recipes and concepts. At one point there was this location and a chilliwack location. The closest to true new York pizza pie I've ever had in this country. The crust is quite substantial and it has that full bodied yeast dough flavor. The sauce is homemade and the flavor notes are unique and meld well together. You can taste the sauce but it does not overwhelm the other components of the pizza. It's a dense pizza and it's not a cheap slice place . If you eat two slices or a jumbo slice it's a meal. It's not cheap but, you feel fed. The quality of the toppings are very good . It takes a while to get your pie but as I say this is a real pizzeria. It's really a dying breed. The square pizza was quite a novelty at one point . This place was started by someone from NYC and its stayed pretty true to its original recipies. The toppings work well with eachother and the pizzas components are all fresh.its not something you will get anyplace else. It's very original. Now I can't say I've never had a miss here everyone has a bad day but, it's pretty consistent .I've tried every item on the menu. Really the pizza is the best . The subs are quite excellent as well, as I say I'm not certain how long this place will remain . It's worth the visit.I never cared about the celeb name drop I was eating here way before that.
