Really really enjoy their lunch deals. A little addicted to Pad Thai, so in their lunch deal that comes with soup & a spring roll. One of the better Pad Thais I’ve had in Burnaby!

Thai Cafe Restaurant is a place I have been wanting to go to for years. I ordered the Pad Thai with prawns (my favourite) and asked for super mild. It looked authentic enough to me. Clearly they used tamarind paste and palm sugar which was great but I could not taste fish sauce or dried shrimp so that seafood-y-ness I love so much was not there.

If there was lime juice sprinkled on top, I could not taste it. It was extremely salty so some acidity would have helped a great deal.

My husband ordered the Thai Fried Rice with chicken and absolutely loved it. It was kind of his perfect dinner. Do not let my photographs fool you, there were lots of people coming in and out of the restaurant to have a quick bite to eat.

The restaurant is lovely, the service was wonderful but my Pad Thai was lacking. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. Not entirely sure it is authentic Thai food but I have definitely had worse.

Continuing my tour of all the food challenges in Vancouver, my guest and myself found ourselves at “Thai Cafe” this evening. Here they have the only pad Thai challenge in the city: a heaping 6.5 pound bowl of noodles to finish within 30 minutes. A challenge they were proud to offer, enough to post photographs of past attempts on the exterior window, and they even took our photos (before we dug in) for their Facebook feed.

Six of us ate here tonight for the first time and we were all very impressed with pretty much everything we ate including: Pad See-Ew (noodle dish), pineapple fried rice, calamari, coconut rice, Massaman curry, Tom yum soup. The Thai iced tea was standard - typically very sweet with sweetened condensed milk. The pineapple fried rice was good, but not the best I've eaten.  Understandable given that pineapples aren't native here and a fresh, ripened pineapple adds a completely different flavour than that of a store-bought, shelf-ripened one.  However, it wouldn't stop me from ordering it again or recommending it.  And the coconut rice was spot-on - not too sweet with added sugar but subtle enough that the coconut flavour came through.  My favourite dishes were split between the pad see-ew and the Massaman curry. I guess I'll have to go back to assess again and try a few other dishes!  Glad to find a decent Thai place in Burnaby.  Don't mean to stereotype (okay, maybe a little), but it helps that the woman running the place is from Bangkok!

Mother deer didn’t want to cook one evening because we were out and didn’t get home until around dinner time so we decided to just go out for dinner. We ended up going to Thai Cafe because we wanted Thai food but we already tried Chad Thai a little further down Hastings a while back so we wanted to try somewhere different.

A friend called me up today and wanted to catch up with my boyfriend and I after recent breakup, so we decided to go for some Thai food since I was craving that.

Prawn Pad Thai - Very delicious. Not as much tofu as other Thai restaurant. I believe there was about 6-8 prawns. Just enough sauce that was soaked up by the noodles, not runny. We asked for medium spice, but couldn't taste it at all!

Duck Curry - Originally I wanted Green Curry since I like mixing it in my Pad Thai, but my friend wanted this curry so we got this one instead. Lots of duck meat inside with bamboo shoots. Few grapes which was kind of strange. Overall very tasty, I enjoyed it.

Cashew Chicken - We weren't sure what to get for our 3rd dish and the waitress suggested Cashew Chicken was it was very popular. After the first bite, it tasted just like regular Chinese Cashew Chicken. Wasn't very impressed with the dish. I honestly think it was targeted to Caucasian people. The chicken was dry. Weren't a lot of cashew. Lots of veggies.

Service - Good. Got our waters refilled pretty quickly. Food came by very fast. Server was very nice and bubbly.

A girlfriend of mine introduced me to this place cause she really loved it.

We had the Yellow curry with beef and red curry with chicken (of course, with a side of white rice). I really enjoyed these. Both curries were tasty, had a lot of flavour.

I also had a salad roll, which was very fresh. I liked the sauce it came with.

I would definitely come back if I'm craving Thai and in the area!

Great food!. I've been here about 4 times and have enjoyed the food each time. This place usually isn't very busy and I can't see why it doesn't get more business! The service was prompt and the food is tasty! Favorite is the cashew chicken.

RE : Mobile review DINER FROM VANCOUVER • Eat Eat • Posted on 03/01/15. Thank you for your concern about what you said you have seen at our restaurant. What happened on that day was we found a pigeon at the door area of the restaurant and found out later that it couldn't fly and had one leg broken. We tried to help it and finally contacted wildlife Rescue Association BC (604 5267275), the officer came over and took the pigeon back to the shelter for further treatment (Reference case no. 15-0809). The guy and the lady you saw were the owner and senior staff of the restaurant who tried to help the pigeon. They washed their hands after done with the pigeon and left the restaurant since there was no work schedule for them on that day.

I like this place for good Thai food - none of the ketchup laden Pad Thai that seems to happen elsewhere. They use real tamarind! Quick service even during busy lunchtimes.

Delicious and well priced. The Pad Thai lunch special was very good, a few shrimps, some chicken, some peanuts, bean sprouts, a spring roll, and some tiny soup for about 10 bucks. Service was spotty but they were super busy, well definitley be back!

WOW! Delicious food at a great price. I must admit I was a bit leary of this place as it had a small store front and it has that old diner look to it. Man was I glad that we stopped into this place.

The Thai food is by far the most delicious I have had in the lower mainland. The portions are large, the price is low and the food comes out fast. The only complaint I had is that the staff was not what you would call friendly but I go there for the food and that never disappoints.

Great Food, Great Service. Thai Cafe is one of the best places to get real, authentic Thai food in a casual setting. I've eaten there dozens of times in the last few years, and have never been disappointed. Prices are very reasonable, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the food is always delicious. The location is convenient too, being just minutes from downtown Vancouver, and it's easy to find free parking nearby.

The pad thai is a must! Friendly service, good price, good portions. A great place for lunch. Just one con: lack of variety on the drink menu (i was looking forward to coconut milk).

I heard of a nice thai place near my work place called "Thai Cafe" so I went to try it out during lunch. There is a small parking lot in the area that offers free parking for 2 hours which was nice. It was fairly busy when I arrived but I manage to get the last table so I didn't have to wait. I wanted to come here for lunch on my weekend but it was closed so I came during a weekday. It was quite a small place and they had a cheap lunch menu for 8.95 which includes your entree with one spring roll and soup, I believe the soup is replaced with a salad during certain seasons. I drank the soup before I took this pic I ordered a spicy Prawn Pad Thai which is s tir fried thin rice noodles with tofu, egg and bean sprouts. Choice of tofu, chicken or prawns. This was very good, a nice blend of flavours but only had 3 prawns in it. The spring roll had a very crispy skin with mostly white

Thai Cafe is another of the Friday Lunch crews' favorite venues in Burnaby. After the sudden and inexplicable demise of Boua Thai, Thai Cafe quickly filled the void. For several years now it has been a guaranteed great Pad Thai fix. This is exactly how Pa

We're always on the hunt for a great Thai restaurant! In the week of *hot* weather in Vancouver, we just didn't feel like cooking - initially we'd gone to Thai Cafe just to grab a quick snack, but wound up having our whole meal there! We started off with
