We’re back at another Poke spot! Well we’ve actually been to the Coquitlam Steve’s Poké Bar location before. Their poke is one of our favourites so we decided to visit one of their other locations. We’ve actually noticed that. Steve’s Poké Bar has been one of the poke spots in Vancouver that has been popping up all over the place lately. They also have a location at Lougheed mall and is projected to have one at Brentwood mall when it’s completed!
Only bought from here once but the poké was so delicious! Quite expensive though (spent almost $15 for one large scoop) so unfortunately can't have it that often. Another downside is that the space is small and there aren't a lot of seats, but otherwise I recommend it.
As someone who’s always enjoyed the fresh and tasty poke that we’ve had in Hawaii, we were glad when the poke craze started to take root in Vancouver a couple of years ago. Steve’s Poké Bar, located in the SFU campus on top of Burnaby Mountain was one of the first dedicated poke places to open up in the area but it wasn’t until recently that we’ve tried them out.
They had a Groupon deal last month, so Peanut and I decided to check it out!
The tuna was marinated very well and tasted fresh! Peanut ordered the tofu option, and said that the tofu wasn’t marinated.
I’d rather talk about Poke Bar at SFU, where P and I had dinner after fixing her plant on Tuesday:. It was pretty fresh, and they’re very liberal with the toppings, including kimchi, corn, mango, pineapple… Salad, quinoa, or rice were options for the base, and it came with other one or 2 scoops of the fish. Not that flavorful, maybe it didn’t marinate enough in the sauce because we saw them bring it out just as we ordered…? Who knows, I’m not a poke expert, I’ve only had it one other time. I plan on trying more poke places this summer though – I like how refreshing it is and not heavy, compared to the usual junk I eat. This place is too far for me to go again, but I'd eat it if it was delivered.
Welcome to my blog where I share my opinions on being an adult and post my reviews of stuff I buy and things I eat. Feb 26 Poke Bar, possibly one of my top two favourites. Location: Poke Bar - 8931 Cornerstone Mews, Burnaby, BC. Meal: Two scoop bowl with spicy tuna and shoyu salmon with rice and a ton of add ons.
