Review Hot Oven Pizza - Burnaby

Ordered for the first time and was happy with the quality and generosity of the toppings including the shrimp. They were huge and plentiful , however the flavour and texture of them was not appetizing. I think they were just super over cooked, making them very chewy and leaving them with a funny taste. Other than that, the pizza was great!

The pizza is close to the best I ever had, however there are some problems with this place that make it a bad competitor with other pizza places. The crust is usually burnt which sucks, and they used to put parsley on the pizza as shown in photos here, but they haven't for about a year now which is a slight annoyance because I really enjoyed it. Despite this, it's still really good pizza. However, they recently rose the prices significantly and that is why they have 2 stars. They've always had high prices, but it was somewhat reasonable given their quality, but it's at the point now where it's unreasonable. $20 with tax for a medium pizza with JUST cheese is beyond unfair, especially given the inconsistencies of the pizza. I hope they put their prices back to normal soon. I'd pay the extra $10 to choose them over Domino's, but at this point they are approaching costing twice as much as Domino's and it's just not worth it.

without a doubt the best thick pizza in the lower mainland of BC. ive been a few times, all the pizzas are great. a big mouthful of toppings, and a belly fill of grease and sodium and wheat. in a good way. go to this pizza place.

You get what you pay for here. The pizzas are pricier than Dominos and Panago but you'll be rewarded with greater quantity and higher quality. I was surprised at how heavy a medium pizza was but found out it was because they're LOADED with toppings. Not just regular topping either, there are lots of unique combinations of flavors. I personally like the Tropic Thunder and the Baked Potato. Pizzas were delicious with a crust you could actually enjoy unlike that cardboard they have at the larger chains.

Super delicious, but also very expensive. I get the Carnivore and love it! Great for parties or leftovers as a 1-3 slices of a large will fill most anyone up. Lightweights can barely finish 1. I can usually eat a medium to myself, 3 slices of this puts me away!

I love their pepperoni pizza and so far best deep dish pizza I've ever had. I give the food a 5 star rating but service could be better:don't expect it to always be open or for friendly order taker.

We LOVE Hot Oven Pizza! Have had the Carnivore, Canuck, Baked Lasagna with Meatballs and the Jalapeno Poppers are hoooooooooottt! But the favourite is the Hot Oven Select...it's stuffed, the flavours all come together and you can tell the ingredients are fresh too - trust me, order it. Staff has been friendly when I've gone in to pick up and delivery has been quick.

A hidden gem. If you know of a better deep dish pizza in the Vancouver area id like to know. This is my personal favourite. The Hot Oven Classic in particular. All the people complaining about the hours, and saying they won't give them another chance because of that are truly missing out.

Horrible pizza, horrible service. Management told us it was our fault we got violently ill after their pizza, also said we were killing their vibe...wtf ..your pizza was burnt, and disgusting , I will NEVER order from you again.

horrible service. i am stunned. pizza made me and my friend sick, and when i called them about it they said that i couldn't prove it and asked if i was lactose intolerant...yea...because lactose intolerant people eat cheese pizza...are you KIDDING me?

Tried Hot Oven very recently. Took the nacho fries, it had too much cheese but that was my own fault. My friend took their lasagna and I have heard some very good things about their baked pastas. Will try one, soon someday. Also, huge portion size, enough for multiple people or multiple meals for a single eater. LOVE their chocolate cake!!!

Some of the worst food I have ever eaten 35 bucks late delivery soggy pizza green bits in diced tomatoes not enough cheese not cooked properly , but I must say pleasant phone and delivery guy & Peace...

Won't Deliver to SFU Burnaby Mountain.. This place is located at East Hastings and Holdom - which is an 8 minute drive up to SFU Burnaby Mountain, 6.4kms - and these guys won't deliver to a UNIVERSITY CAMPUS!?!?!?

Call Stan's Pizza Joint, it's farther west on Hastings at Willingdon, father away from SFU than Crap Oven Pizza on Holdom - but Stan's WILL DELIVER TO SFU.

rant end\

Duck pizza. Their duck pizza was really good!

Pizza or pie?. Pizza here ain't cheap pizza like fresh slices or pizza factory. But they load the pizza with tons of toppings (no cheaping out). Pizza delivered to me was hot n it was heavy! Crust crunchy n not thick, they really focus on the ingredients. I wanna call it a pie cos of how thick it is. My favs are the tropic thunder n orient. Best specialty pizza in town

Do not order pizza from here. First off it's completely burnt, yet the bacon is placed under the cheese instead of on top which has left it uncooked/raw and uncrispy. I can not even see or taste pizza sauce or cheese on it. Just gross.

Really good, but not cheap. Good quality ingredients. Tastes better than from a chain like Pizza Hut, Panago, or Domino's. Lasagna also recommended. But it's not cheap.

Takes forever and tastes like crap. 50min to deliver on a tuesday night- all we ordered was a medium cheese pizza and a mac and cheese. both dishes were cold, clearly had be sitting out for a long time, and tasted gross.

Awesome Pizza!. We have ordered pizza from this place a few times now and each time, the pizzas were hot and tasty. They don't skimp on the toppings and the crust was delicious. The kids absolutely love this place and it has become our go to place for pizza.

Not Worth the Time. This is not the first time I've order from here and waited over an hour for two pizzas to be delivered.

Giving the place a second chance, I ordered two medium pizzas for delivery at 1830 and was told that it was going be a 45 wait. After waiting an hour there was still no pizza. I called the place up at 1935 and was told that it was going to be an another 10 minutes.

This was totally unacceptable, my family and I are starving at this point. I tried asking for a discount off the bill but ended up canceling my order since the manager thought a $5 chocolate cake would cover a 70 plus minute wait.

There will not be a third chance after this experience, not worth the wait and time...

Best Specialty Pizza. Just recently moved into the area and decided to take a chance one evening when I was hungry and ordered from this place. Delivery was quick, under 30 minutes, and everything arrived hot. I got the Baked Potato pizza while my roommate ordered one of their pizza subs. The pizza was fantastic! I usually order the typical cheese or pepperoni pizza but I was glad that I decided to go for something unconventional and they delivered on it (pun sort of intended). You won't be disappointed if you get food from here. :)

Best Hawaiian pizza ever made. Tons of good quality pineapple, ham, and mozzarella cheese on a crust just thick enough to support its weightiness.

Heavy duty pizza. Two slices should do it for you.

Solid Pizza. I really like this place, I love the pizza crust and toppings. Tiny bit greasy but great pizza! They have different types of pizza for everyone!

Unreal. We were really suspicious when we first saw the place almost 2 years ago. Tiny place in a dodgy plaza run by Asian young people. For pizza??!! We almost walked out. Ended up having the *BEST* pizza ever. It's deep dish & not full of dough -- the weight's all full of fillings (they're not just toppings!). And the fillings are super yummy & interesting combinations. And that garlic butter they brush on at the end is just ridiculously good.

We've since fallen in love with their baked pastas as well. They're now our go-to Italian takeout even though they're not exactly around the corner from us. Worth the extra few mins drive.

Great Pasta and Pizza!. I love their baked spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta is always done el dente, rich meaty sauce and the meatballs are awesome. Lasagna is good too, great portions, comes with two thick slices of garlic bread and plenty for a dinner for two.

I do miss the salad dressing they used to have for the house salad. They changed it to poppyseed vinegar or something which isn't bad but I used to order the salad just for the house dressing.

This place has the best pizza ever, great crust, loaded with fresh toppings, pizza is thick and pales in comparison to some of the giant chain pizza places. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great delivery, decent prices and good food that tastes home made.

The best pizza in North Burnaby but don't order the wings. OMG - this is the best pizza i've ever eaten! The crust was crispy & yummy. Loads of toppings. Heaven!
The wings were horrible.

Will I order pizza from Hot Oven PIzza again - YES! Wings - no

Just found the best pizza in north Burnaby. They make the dough fresh all night.. The dough maker is just inside the door and it's not for show. This is the tastiest za in town. A medium was more than enough for three hungry adults. This is a gem and to top it off, the staff rock on the friendly scale.

Can't get enough. Best Lasagna I ever had........ever!! Loaded with cheese and meaty, saucy!! Comes with 2 slice of garlic bread enough for 2 meals!! All for $11.95. My go to place when I'm too lazy to cook.

Best Pizza In Town. I gotta give big props to Hot Oven Pizza.

The pizza here is just absolutely amazing. I'm not even a big pizza fan but this place makes me go crazy (in a good way). I'm salivating right now just typing about it.

The flavour of the pizza is just WOW...I don't know if it's the sauce, the crust or what but each mouthful is just delicious. I usually get the one made with chicken, spinach, feta, tomatoes and onion.

Pizzas are hefty in size, not thin crust but not quite deep dish either, a small size serves two hungry eaters.

Living in Vancouver, I didn’t think we had any deep dish pizza here without traveling to the windy city. Heard there was a place on hastings called Hot Oven Pizza selling them so I had to try it! It was a fairly small place and service was very fast.

Hot Oven is now probably my go-to place for Pizza if I’m at home. The one minor blemish is that the pizza is still just a tad more greasy than I’d like (I would say more so than Panago but still less than grease-giant Pizza Hut).

there were several specialty pizzas that really caught my attention.

Unlike big chains and mom n’pop pizza places, the ingredients were of good quality and made every pizza full of flavour. They have an assortment of interesting pizza flavours (like spam?!).
CreamyBlue
I could see they put in thoughts onto the quality and presentation of the pizza itself. I like how the crust was crispy rather than just doughy. It wouldn't be a bad idea to order from them if you're around the 'hood!

As my food-blogging has been geared more towards seeking out great Asian fare, I've lost track of where to go for some great pizza. My regular delivery is from Pizza Factory on 6th St. in Burnaby…they make a damn fine pie. One of their other locations (o
