Review Little Billy's Steakhouse - Burnaby

Great place for a date night or for family occasions. We were greeted very pleasantly by the waitress who made our experience even better for the night. French onion soup was very nice and my partner had a very nice course meal. Value is up there as well. Expect generous portions so ensure to unbuckle your pants. My partner and I both agreed that we will definitely return to try other menus.

Fantastic flavours for food And the service was great. I ordered the ahi tuna and I never had it so flavourful. The only downside is the garlic prawns only came with 5 small ones. There wasn’t even enough to share between 3 people.

We ordered Stuffed Crab Mushrooms for appetizer, lamb chops and a New York steak for mains. The stuffed crab mushrooms were not impressive. Either there wasn't enough crab meat, or the seasoning covered the crab meat taste, we could hardly tasted the crab meat. Nit pick - the mushrooms were irregular - some were in whole and some were chopped. The dish would have been more presentable if the shapes of the mushrooms were more consistent. Mains were big portions! They came with a big salad, and sides (potatoes and veggies). Their pita bread was really good. The lamb chops and the steak were just okay.

The service is amazing!!! I'm not exaggerating. From the beginning of the visit to the end of the night, we felt [beyond] first class service. We were given some lightly grilled bread at the start. Honestly, I didn't realize it was only extra bread they had available (and decided to give it to us) until I asked our server why we were given another basket of garlic bread afterwards. That was nice of them (I guess it lowered my expectation when I saw the less than aesthetic first basket. Lol.)! The garlic bread was good! We had the French onion soup, the Avgolemono (Greek lemon chicken soup), shared a 20oz steak (chef cut-in bone rib eye) and a red wine (Domaine Baron de l'Écluse). We loved the soups! I asked for a suggestion for a smooth red wine and was suggested the above by our server - what an excellent choice! We were looking for something like Martin's Lane (they don't carry it) but the de l'Ecluse was a similar goodness (Martin's Lane is still top in my books). For the entree, they gave us separate dining plates with mashed potatoes, broccoli and salads because we were sharing the steak. That was a wonderful gesture. The steak was slightly too gamey for me. Fortunately, my other half doesn't mind. We were extremely full by the end. Thank you for the exceptional experience! Would love to try other things next time.

Service was super friendly and attentive. The food arrived very quickly after ordering. I had the roast lamb on the recommendation of our server and it was very tasty. We also shared the baklava for dessert which was great. For an appetizer we shared the spicy prawns which I wouldn't get again, they were fried/deep fried and not very flavorful (or spicy). Overall good value and experience.

My family and I went to Little Billy's Steakhouse to celebrate a birthday. Our experience was near perfect. The food was good and came with good portions. The service was a little slow to start, but our group did not arrive all at the same time. The two male servers were very friendly and attentive, and one was even nice enough to bring the birthday cake out singing. There was one mix up on our order, but they quickly corrected it and brought a couple appetizers for the mistake. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed our evening. We will be back!

I'm blown away by this establishment! Everything was incredible Food, wine, cocktails 10s 10s 10s across the board 👏 Our waitress was so fun, beautiful and kind It has been one of my favorite experiences. I cannot wait to return.

Food was excellent and better than I ever expected. If you love seafood the Seafood Linguine is a must �. Service was beyond amazing and we felt like family. We'll be going back again for sure and highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining. Was worth the drive from New Westminster.

AMAZING!! Already made a reso for next week !! The 4 course meal for $21 was a great value ..so much food !! The pork schnitzel and steak and lobster was to die for !

Took one hour to bring us our food and we ordered $97 seafood platter and it was half the amount of the first time we went. We complained and they tried to deny it so we showed them a picture to prove it and they had nothing to back it up and then started adding other lame excuses. The female chef went out of her way to stare at us through her little window where the servers pick up food. We had to cancel our desserts just in case they were going to spit on it or something. We were all still starving and didn't want to order something else coz it took an hour and the service was soooooo slow and it wasn't even that busy. I was planning to book the restaurant out for my bday but nope I will not go ever again. Such a disappointment.

Wicked! I love this place and can say after having come here for over 20 years ...the meals are the most consistently good meals I've had anywhere. The chicken Parmesan is the best I've ever had. It's family run and they make their guests feel like family! Highly recommended 😃

Was there last night April 7th/18. There was 10 of us celebrating my 65th Birthday. We all had a good time. The food was good, and the service was relatively fast and friendly. It would have been nice to serve bread first like The Keg does. But it was a pleasant time had by all.

Service and food is great! Lighting and ambience makes it a perfect setting for family couples and groups of friends!�

Quality clean food. The room itself is bubbling with good chatter from all the tables. Great Serving Staff had a guest with multiple allergies couldn't have been more able.

Great place for our group's semi-annual lunch. Food was good.

We had a good, but not great experience. Our server was attentive and very nice but her English was not the best so she brought out 2 wrong items and couldn’t understand what some items were on the menu. The steak was okay, the Greek food was okay. I would go to specialty restaurants if I wanted better greek or steak. Shrimp cocktail and calamari were very good. Ambiance was nice. Don’t think I’d go back at those prices, but glad I tried the place.

The restaurant seemed bigger on the outside, it was actually smaller than I expected due to the layout. We were surprised that the restaurant was completely full on a Tuesday night! Four course set menu: My parents both decided to get the 4 course set menu for $22, which was a pretty good deal.

Is it possible to be better than perfect? If it is than Little Billy's Steakhouse fits that category!!!  This air conditioned five star family run restaurant with a warm atmosphere in Burnaby serves the very best dishes at reasonable pricing. The serving staff is wonderful, the chef and his crew are top notch. My only wish is that they never retire and close down this business because being the best restaurant in the Lower Mainland does take a lot of effort and discipline.<br/>Well done Little Billy's!!!

Husband and Friend got extremely sick all night long immediately after eating here. Restaurant Staff and Owner respond irresponsibly and poorly.<br/><br/>So my husband & a friend went for a nice dinner the other weekend here. Service was good, food was delicious. They were happy with their experience. Both of them, within 20 min of arriving home ended up being sick all night. constantly running to the bathroom all night. I was up my husband and my friend, our friends wife, was kept up all night as well. <br/><br/>We called the restaurant to let them know that something they may be serving if making people sick. Woman who answered the phone was kind and told us she received others calls that day of other people getting sick. She said she call us back on Monday, took our number down, after she speaks to the owner to see if there is anything they can do for us. <br/><br/>Never heard back. I just called them back asking for an update and mentioned she never called me back. The response received was they never got calls from anyone else getting sick so there is nothing they are going to do for us 'discount' wise and that it wasn't their food and if we want we can physically walk-in to the restaurant and talk to the owner. ???? and she never called us back ON PURPOSE because there is nothing the owner is willing to do about it.<br/><br/>I've lost so much respect for this restaurant and that owner. If you say your going to do something, do it. There are so many amazing restaurants in this city. I definitely won't miss this one. Our friends constantly ask us where to go that good for date nights. Hubby and I are known for being foodies. This restaurant is no longer on my recommended list.

The food at this restaurant is very good. Service was prompt and attentive. I will keep coming back to this restaurant when I am in this vacinity.

The steak dinner here was amazing. We enjoyed the Caesar salad before dinner and the steak was cooked to perfection. The server was very attentive and helpful on the menu.

Very lowbrow establishment. My differently abled sister who is on assisted living applied for a job here and was given an opportunity, unfortunately she was unable to work fast enough for business standards and they let her go which I can understand. What I cant understand is that they told her they'd call her with further shifts and then ignored all her calls and refused to pay her for the hours already worked. Finally (over a week later) she went into their business alone and in person and demanded that they pay her for the shift and they conceded. I can't imagine what kind of person it takes to take advantage of a person who is obviously struggling hard just to find employment and stiff them until directly threatened (via the perceptions of present clientele) to do otherwise. Do the world a solid and enjoy a juicy steak at an establishment with some kind of extent moral standard

Have tried a few things here and love it! Great for a couple of old friends catching up, couple on a date, or a bigger group. Goes against the played trend of minimalistic hipster joints and proudly bears its classy heritage. Clean and modern decor but with old school rich & satisfying dishes like chicken parm, baked lasagna, moussaka, and souvlaki. Their wine collection is not pretentious but delicious. Have not yet tried the steak...there may be a part 2 of this review!

After much searching we finally found a restaurant that would accomodate a party of 50 without a lot of rerstrictions. Little Billy's stafff were extremely accomodating, service at the bar and the tables was all you could expect. When the food was served , everyone was served at the same time,it was hot and it was delicious. Couldn't ask for a better time. Fielded a lot of positive comments about the location , with no negatives. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Resturant!!!! Best german cook in canada. I was after a long time finally back in Canada and also in the best resturant in the world( traveling much) The food and the cook was making me like always happy!!! I got my steak like a german would love it !!!! But the best was the german beer!!!!!! ( no wonder the cook is german) i was reading a few other post on this site but i need to be honest that i m a little bit confused if we re talking about the same Little Billy's Steakhouse? From my side : i ll come always back again to eat.

This is a great restaurant to go with kids and yet still have a nice ambience and quality meal. Very friendly staff!

Its nice that you have wrote such a big text because of a forgotten baked potato that the BUSSER forgot to pack up.<br/>I hope that your kids never make a mistake at their first job so they dont have tm experience such public dramatic insult that you have posted for everyone to see because of a minor mistake. She is still in the learning process, but maybe you shouldnt scream at a kid who is trying to do her best. Kids are allowed to make mistakes so they learn for the future. We offered you a new baked potato that you refused to take, you did not accept the multipule apologies we gave you the kitchen and the busser. We are sorry for your bad experience but we find it important to give younger people a chancw to work and learn. That is why three kids under the age of 19 work at our restaurantand sometimes they make mistakes and we teach them how to correct them and try their best next time. <br/>We read the reviews online to see what we need to improve on to make a better the experience, however, i have never replied to any of the reviews but this one. Not Happy. Hi there, we have visited LBSH at least once a month for the last 2 years. We have done take out, and family dinners ect. The last take out order was $250.00, as you can see we really like the resturant, or LIKED it. <br/><br/>Last night (Mar 13) my husband and i went out for our date night. The resturant was not as busy as we have seen it before, but in any case there were about 7 tables occupied which looked like they were almost done with their dinner. Great! <br/>We were greeted by the bartender / server who was very polite. We sat our selves as instructed. <br/>- it took the waitress a very long time to come and ask us if we wanted a drink, or even ask us for water. <br/>- once we got our drinks it took us about 10 mins to get someones attention to get napkins and cutlery (which didnt come until after we got our appy)<br/>- 15 mins later we ordered our appy and meals. <br/>- Dinner order: We asked for mashed potatos which they had run out of but could give us a baked potato instead (couldnt the cook just mash the baked potato?). I asked for some clarification on the salads: What does the Mambo Salad have? i was told that it was just a bigger size, and she didnt know what was in it or if you could add a protein to it. ( b/c she was new) i settled for a Ceasar Salad with Chicken - fine. Interesting. Updated on May 4th 2014: <br/>My friends and I came for dinner last night and got the steak and lobster special. There was really nothing special about it. The lobster was only lukewarm when it arrived, and the steak was overdone. My friend had a medium-well steak while I asked for a medium rare and they were both more done than what we had ordered. The veggies were quite oily as well. The only item on our plates that stood up to par sadly, were the mashed potatoes. Unfortunately I don't think I will be returning again.<br/>------------------<br/>It's a definite change from their original location next to the Mountain Shadow, where nights were packed with people and there was a warm loud atmosphere and energetic servers. Now it's more of a laid back, fine dining establishment, serviced by the lone server/bartender/host. <br/><br/>We ordered the beef tenderloin, paidakia ribs, and the lamb flank special. The tenderloin was slightly overdone on one side which made it a tiny bit dry, but the other half was a great juicy medium rare. Their mashed potatoes are fantastic! The paidakia ribs are actually side ribs and so there isn't that much meat. This dish would be recommended more for someone that isn't looking to just gorge. The special was very tasty, lots of flavours in the flank. Portions were ample. <br/><br/>I would likely return to try the seafood and perhaps the pasta as well.

I have been wanting to go for a long time and finally decided to take the 40 minute drive. It was well worth it and I kick myself for not going sooner. The owners are great as is the atmosphere. I will definitely going back for more chicken parmigiano

One of the very best restaurants in Burnaby!. We were pleasantly surprised by Little Billy's Steak House. The dishes are very well prepared, the service is excellent, and the pricing is very reasonable. Definitely a 5 star restaurant!<br/>We will go back there regularly, and you will not be disappointed with Little Billy's either.<br/>Give them a try!

Very Disappointing !!!. Took my sweetheart for dinner on Thursday, (his birthday) our first time there. Went because of a great write up in the Burnaby local paper. We were very disappointed with the food and service. We had the steak and lobster, the steak was dry and not cooked to our liking, the vegetables were hard as rock and the lobster was hard and rubbery, (no taste). The waiter was terrible, he said he would impress us as it was our 1st time there and after he dropped our food on the table I never saw him again, didn;t come back to check on us...we ordered a bottle of wine and before we had 2 sips our dinner was there...you should be able to enjoy the wine and conversation at least for 20 mins before dinner comes. The pics on your website are very decieving as the restaurant was not even close to as nice as the pics showed and the food looked nothing like the pics either. I have been a resident here in North Burnaby for 6 years and have been to many restaurants here, I have never had such a bad dining experience.

Terrible food. My family and I went there last week as it was recommended by a coworker. Upon entering we thought what a great little place, why had we not come here before? The menu looked great too and my husband even commented that we have to come back as there was so much great looking items. We ordered wine (which was great) although the wine glasses were not clean. The kids had lemonaid which was made at the bar and it was great. Calamari app was Ok. Unfortunately all 4 dinners of steak, moussaka, and lamb souvlaki were terrible and the green salad and greek salads were all overdressed. The steak was too thin and over done, the lamb was tough and chewy the moussaka tasted like spaghetti sauce. I don't there were any potatoes in there either. The forth dinner was OK but not what we were expecting. The waiter/bartender was really great though and did comp the lamb. Normally I would say maybe it was an off night but considering all the dinners were terrible, I chalk it up to being a bad chef.

I've always wondered what kind of twit sees a white linen covered table with long stemmed glasses at a restaurant and with a 4 month old in tow says lets go here!! I eat here all the time and have never had a bad meal(except when being around a fussy 4 month old) they have awsome steaks great off menu chefs creations and always friendly service, and my table has always had real linen, maybe they have one with plastic because in the 40 years they have been in business they have probably had more than their share of twits who don't know that 4 month old should be at home with the sitter so mom and dad dont have to be all stressed out which in turn comes out as anger and disappointment in thier night out. And I also noticed the old couch out back too but I was able with my mere high school edumication figure out that it belongs to the old house that happens to share the parking area. I hope your eventual caterer has the strength to deal with you I can tell they will need it.

We had dinner here this evening to scout it out as a potential place to host our wedding reception. We won't be heading back!<br/><br/>First impressions--old couch dumped in the parking lot. We choose our seats near the middle and what appeared to be white linen on the website was white vinyl. Classy! Mirror over our table looked like it was windexed with a dirty dish cloth. <br/><br/>Ordered calimari to start and it was at our table in 2 min. Greasy but I've had worse. Our salads came, green and a Greek, both very greasy. While waiting for our entrees the host appoligizes and directs us to be relocated to the front of the restaurant to accommodate a birthday party he forgot was coming. We had brought our 4 month old baby with us and his gear so it was annoying to say the least. The host promises drinks on the house.<br/><br/>My $22 salmon arrives dry, with a thick sauce on top and saggy greasy veggies on the side. Mashed potatoes were good but classed down a bit with shredded cheese on top. Not worth $22! My pateners prawns were tasty but rubbery. Our meals come and go, our water gets topped up with no offer of the drinks so we ask for the bill. As she sets down our bill she asks if we'd like those drinks.... Very strategic, lady. <br/><br/>Little Billy's, you wooed us with your seemingly nice decor and decent online reviews but failed to impress us with your food and service. We will not be returning.

Great Food. Went for the first time, and I had a great experience. The food was excellent! We started with the crabbed stuffed mushroom caps and the crispy prawntons...both were fantastic. I have been to many steak houses, but this was one of the best steaks I have ever had...was cooked perfectly medium rare. I opted for the gorgonzola mac and cheese as my side...was to die for and the portion for a side was huge! Had left overs to take home. The only complaint we had was the lack of service...they had one waitress on for the entire place...she was doing the best she could, and she remained friendly the entire time. Will for sure be going back =)

Simply Awesome!. Wonderful service, fantastic food, all around awesome!<br/><br/>It's my third time dining here in the past 3 months, and I have nothing bad to say about the place. Right as we walked in, we were warmly greeted with a smile and were given a choice of seating within 2 diferent sections of the restaurant. We picked a spot near the window, moments later to have changed our mind, due to the slight draft coming from the window. Our server was more than happy to move us somewhere satisfying.<br/><br/>I have tried both the Halibut and Beef Tenderloin, absolutely delicious! I can't begin to explain my thoughts on the dessert, let me just say, YUM! I recommend the 7 layer chocolate cake(to share, unless you plan on taking 2/3 of it to go, it's HUGE!), so DO make room for this, I insist!!

Love it!. A friend introduced me to this restaurant and I immediately fell in love. I'm so picky and they exceeded my expectations. I am fanatic about great food and I can't stress how amazing everything I have tried here is. . Couple things are total standouts:<br/>1.) Greek Salad: I'm a total cheese lover and the feta is so creamy and soft<br/>2.) Saganaki: I had never had it before this restaurant and now I can't stop thinking about it. My friend recommended it and I was so amazed I order it every time now. <br/>3.) Lamb: I was never a big lamb fan until I tried it here. It was suggested by my server and I have never tasted anything so amazing. I have never been to a restaurant and ordered lamb but do all the time here now.<br/>4.) Paidakia Ribs: Oh. My. God. Fall off the bone. So good that I've given up ordering steak for them every time I go. Don't get me wrong, the steak here is amazing, but the ribs are apparently a secret recipe and I've never tasted ribs like this before.<br/>I really can't say enough. There are so many more great things I've eaten at this restaurant that I could go on forever. The staff is so accommodating and the service has always been great as well. Seriously, go here.

Excellent. Although I don't eat steak, I LOVE seafood and they definitely didn't let me down. The service was good (we booked the whole restaurant for our office christmas party) and even the drinks were great. I highly recommend the scallops (amazing), crab legs and salmon. Even the greek/caeser salad was better than most places. Some of my coworkers ordered the steak and said it was great as well. It is a very small restaurant though, I'd advise making reservations.

The service here is getting worse. Last time my coffee never came and this time we waited 15 mins to order anything, 15 for salad 15 for food and had to beg for steak knives, and another 15 for the bill. I don't know if I'll go back at all. Still good food but one steak was overcooked.

Great Food, Service, and Atmosphere!. I was first introduced to Little Billy's Steakhouse by a group of friends. We now come often, and always have a great time. <br/><br/>The look and feel of this restaurant is one-of-a kind. It offers a truly up-scale feel thats close to home. <br/><br/>Love the food. Try the Paidakia Ribs, you won't be disappointed! One meal is enough to satisfy your hunger. <br/><br/>The Greek Salad is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The staff are genuine, and the service is great. <br/><br/>This is a great place to have an event or birthday. The sound system is top notch, and the atmosphere is electric. <br/><br/>I bring all my friends here for dinner before heading downtown for the night. You won't regret it.

Not going back. Coffee house butter packets meant for cheap muffins served with a $30 steak is just silly. Also the service wasn't very good. Though the steak was very tastey and cooked perfectly rare for me, the rest of the experience was the equivalent of a fancy looking fast food place.

I have been wanting to come here for a while and the only thing stopping me has been the idea of possibly leaving disappointed.

With the quality of food and the value that they bring, they deserve more customers.
