The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. Sophia and her staff are warm and welcoming. Being a vegan, I loved how they were so accommodating to my needs. Would highly recommend this place for an amazing dining experience of indo-chinese cuisine! And they have the yummiest chilli sauce that they make in house that just makes every dish even more perfect!
Amazing fusion style Chinese food. Great service and very friendly staff. Highly recommend to everyone who loves Indian style Chinese food. It was the very first time I went there with family and will go again. Ice cream on fire can't be found anywhere except here.
We have been here 3 times in 3 weeks.
The owner Sophia and her husband are genuinely warm people who care about their customers. The food is
Excellent and prepared with care. I have nut allergies and eating at any Chinese restaurant is not even an option. I can eat here safely.
All of the curries and spices are blended in-house at the restaurant and we have not had one single dish we didn't
Like.
We've had several dishes from the lunch menu and a' la carte.
No regrets. We had the Lunch time fish curry with rice, lemon chicken, and
Crispy noodles with chicken and veggies. Excellent food!
Bombay style fish & Ginger beef were awsome.Great staff and atmosphere.
Fantastic food. Sophie and her husband (owners) are awesome! Lunch specials are great. I have eaten there thrice recntly and am goingoing today again! Must try, food is always fresh and tastes amazing!!!
Amazing fusion restaurant with super friendly staff, delicious ambience, and cosy ambience! LOVED it! :)
Make sure you try out their "Ice Cream on Fire" - their signature dessert which you can't find anywhere else in Vancouver!
Went to Indian Wok yesterday and I loved the Fried Chilli Chicken. They also had delicious indian-chinese style butter chicken. Friendly staff and the ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable with nice decorations on the walls.
Twas the first time to eat here, thanks to my bff Alex Pereira. Oh my dear it is almost a year, soon!!!
Y’all, this is one fantastic place! The service is super fast & the servers are all so warm & friendly, I will 100% go back & recommend it to everyone! And for someone from India, who is a fan of Indian-Chinese, I can’t sing enough praises. This hit home!
Coming from Bombay, India, their food reminded me of home.
They also serve szechuan sauce and it is kept as a centerpiece at their tables.
Only suggestion is to include chicken man how soup!
A must visit place for all the indians who are fan of Chinese cuisine. Resonably priced, free parking in the evening. A cozy place, so please try to make a table reservation if you're in a group of 5 or more.

Another high quality-to-price ratio restaurant, one of the best in the greater Vancouver area. They serve huge, tasty dishes at a modest price. I recommend their fried rice.
Great food. Their Chicken Manchurian dry and chilli garlic wing are unbeatable. And I like their banana fried ice cream. The owner and the staff are very friendly. Always like to go here
Amazing food! Have been craving from a long time for indo-Chinese cuisine.. I order from this place weekly.. Dai Ching chicken and Manchurian fried rice really good...Glad to be living close to this restaurant..
Delicious food... vegetarian options were really good.. services were amazing too!! Must go place if planning to try Indo Chinese!! Would love to visit again!!
Best Chinese restaurant in Burnaby.I love their Hakka noodles and also their hot and sour chicken soup is the best soup i ever had .I always go their with my friends and every time i go their, i like to try new flavors and i am never disappointed with the taste and the service they provide. All the staff are really very friendly and they always provide good service.I am always craving their chicken soup and lemon chicken.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Have been here a few times. Love their food and the spice! A small place but I had ordered take out a few times. My daughter does not eat too much spice so I would order dishes without the hot spice for my daughter. Food is still tasty without the usual hot spice. I do love their spice. A family operated restaurant with yummy food and friendly service!
My cousin and her family from US decided to spend their holiday in Vancouver. I was really ecstatic and thankful about it. After walking around Vancouver, they decided to eat in a Chinese-Indian fusion restaurant in South Burnaby. I love fusion theme restaurant because you get the chance to try something different and extraordinary. The owner of the restaurant (Sophia) was very nice and friendly. She is Chines but raised in India. So she can basically speak Punjabi like a pro. Her family still run a restaurant in India and maybe that is where the fusion cuisine started. We let her decide the food she’ll be serving us. I think she did very well. Everything was so good and it has the home cooked vibe on it. I never thought that an Indian and Chinese cuisine will be a perfect match. We did enjoy our dinner here. A must try hidden gem restaurant.
Little gem hidden in south burnaby offers delicious spicy indian+chinese dishes. We ordered the garlic chicken wings to start which were so good! The 2 main dishes we got were both saucey. They almost look the same in the pictures.. but tasty nonetheless. Manchurian cauliflower dish came battered (a little too much batter) and the chili fish which was also battered.. no descriptions offered on the menu so had I known I wouldn't have ordered the same things obv. But I'm not complaining! I'll just know to order or ask for other things next time I come! Be warned. Every dish (I think) is spicy here so get out of the kitchen If u can't handle the heat (hehehe) 🌋
Awsome food. Excellent customer service. Quality food typical Indian - Chinese cusine. Once a month we do visit to Indian wok. Momos are my favourite. Don't forget to try bombay style prawns with garlic sauce.
One word. YUM. Went here for lunch with a client and was blown away. Had the dry chili Prawns, Kung pao chicken and hot and sour soup. Everything was bursting with flavour. I'm aching to go back here. Service was extremely friendly and passionate. Excited to explore more Indian Chinese fusion restaurants to compare this one too. They one a bunch of awards.
I frequent this place as it is in my neighborhood and it never lets me down. Food is consistently delicious and staff is great. Good selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu.
We were intrigued to see a place that offers a fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisines and we just had to try it. We have now tried it more than five times because we really enjoy the food is excellent and the people who own it and work there are so friendly and helpful.
We have enjoyed a number of the Chinese style dishes including the General Tso's chicken and the green beans with black bean sauce. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant colours of the eggplant and chicken dish! Beautiful purples, reds and bright greens made the dishes really jump off the plate.
On my most recent visit we tried a couple of the Indian style dishes. The chicken masala was very tasty even though it had a pretty strong spicy after burn. It was a large plate of meat!!
Each dish we have had has been bursting with flavour and colours. We will be returning! Recommended.
Fabulous!. It's my first time writing a review on urban spoon, because I have to recommend this place to anyone. It was my first time trying their food after many recommendations from my co-workers and friends. They have the BEST lunch specials!!! The food was delicious, and only paid for $9.18 after tax of having such a decent meal (H/S soup, rice, chicken curry, and kulfi icecream). Will definitely go more often! :D
JUST LOVE IT!!!. GREAT FOOD & GREAT SERVICE!!! Have dined in here 2 times and with 15% off on pick up, this is my favorite and regular place for take out, saves extra bucks! So far, so so good. my regular is Spicy eggplant green beans, Hakka noodles, Chicken Masala Rice, Cauliflower & Masala Chicken
So happy that i found this gem :)
This is a tiny little restaurant and you can hear the cook furiously wok-frying their food in the kitchen. The lunch specials are pretty good value but the dishes are on the smaller size. I ordered the Peppering Beef ($6.99 lunch special) which comes with your choice of soup – I picked the Cream of Corn Soup. The soup had the characteristic thick viscosity but there wasn’t a lot of actual corn in the soup. Taste-wise, it was a tad on the salty side and I would have preferred some white pepper instead.
Great food and service. The food was excellent as was the service. We even asked for some changes for allergy related concerns and they adapted their menu. There are also standard gluten free options. Will definitely go again!
Amazing Food. I've visited Indian Wok twice in the last couple of days. The food was great both times. The portions were generous and the service was outstanding.
LOVE IT !!. It's great to have a restaurant like this in Burnaby, it was LONG over due. Had lunch yesterday, and the service was exceptional, the food was VERY delicious ! Spoke to the owner who speaks my language (Hindi), very sweet lady. The lunch prices are amazing! I'm sure Indian Wok will be a land mark in Burnaby for many years to come !
10/10. Worth the drive.
The food is authentic, and delicious!!
Excellent staff and service, prices are cheap! Eat this food.
AWESOME FOOD&AWESOME STAFF! .... AWESOME FOOD&AWESOME STAFF!
Lunch special is totally worth it!
11/10
Lovely Food and Hospitable Staff. This is a family-run restaurant that offers very tasty, lovely food. The owner was very kind and patient as I asked many questions about the different styles of flavouring such as Szechuan (drier, flavourful) and Manchurian (saucier). The owner's family members are ethnically Chinese but have lived in all parts of India. In fact, her husband and herself ran a Chinese restaurant in Austria, before heading to Vancouver! The green beans and eggplant was amazing! The beans were crispy and the eggplants were cooked just perfectly with the smoky "wok flavour" plus a nice punch of curry or garam masala. This was a vegetarian dish, so there was not even dried shrimp used. Still perfectly flavourful without the dried shrimp! The Szechuan fried noodle was tasty and fresh, with lots of cabbage, carrots, peppers and broccoli.
The offer 15% off for take-out and their portions sizes are generous. Also, on weekdays, they have a variety of lunch specials for $5.99 (vegetarian) or $6.99 (meat and seafood). Heartily recommended! Will try the chilli fish and tofu or paneer dishes next time!
*Update* Chili Garlic Paneer - so, so tasty! Their paneer has great tart and rich flavour. And of course the Spicy Green Beans were ordered because it's one of our favourite dishes. All yum!
Fantastic Family-Run Restaurant. I tried 5 dishes, soup and 2 desserts so far - a mix of lunch and dinner.
The Good:
-The ingredients taste fresh and well flavored. Nothing has that pre-made taste typical of this type of food.
-The meat dishes have a generous portion of vegetables for a well-balanced meal. This is nice relief from nearby Asian restaurants that force a choice between meat or vegetarian - or required you to order giant group servings just to get a mix.
-The lunch specials are a great value and they come with rice and soup. As a guy who eats a little more than average I was well filled every time.
-The dinner menu offers a large variety of Indian and Chinese meals and appetizers.
-Spiciness can be easily modified so you can enjoy each dish at your comfort level.
-Service is spectacular. The family and staff are very kind and passionate about their business. Extra water, tea, and napkins magically arrived whenever needed. Staff are attentive and friendly without feeling pouncy like young waiters starved for tips. They treat you more like a guest in their home.
-The desserts are exceptionally tasty. I recommend the deep-fried banana and ice cream OR the flaming ice cream - a delicious sweet donut-like cinnamon ball encasing a scoop of ice cream.
The Bad:
-Served with Knife and Fork...however chopsticks are available upon request :)
-The first visit was a little chilly, but every time after that it was cozy.
-There was a TV there, but it wasn't blaring sports, news or anything distracting.
Conclusion: I recommend trying it out! I think you'll be back.
2015 UPDATE: Amazingly attentive staff that warmly welcome me by name. Still as tasty as ever, comfortable, and always served with chopsticks - haha :P
Good good grub here!. Very glad to have this Indian infused Chinese spot closer to home. The owners are very welcoming and just really know hospitality, menu is interesting with differing levels of spice, portions are good and we thoroughly enjoyed nearly all of the items we've been sampling here so far. The Veg Shanghai Chow Mein is delicious, so I recommend trying this one out if you love plump noodles! The one thing we weren't all that impressed with is their Hot & Sour Soup which wasn't sour enough and missing some key ingredients. I prefer it when it is full of diced tofu, tree ear mushrooms, julienned bamboo shoots with a bit of ginger flavouring. I guess you could say that I've become used to it this way and am picky. I enjoy that their sauces aren't over sugared with is often difficult to avoid.
(Fyi - If you drive, parking looks like it may be a mess).
I wanted to go somewhere different for my birthday, and since I've never had Indian Style Chinese Cuisine before, we chose Indian Wok spontaneously for my birthday celebration!! I'm a pretty low key person when it comes to birthdays, I don't like throwing extravagant parties or spending a ton of money! Indian Wok is located near Metrotown, in my old 'hood! The place was packed when we went for lunch! Service was super friendly, and the owner came to check on us twice to see how we were enjoying our food!! They have a large selection of uber affordable lunch specials for $5.99! That's cheaper than going to the food court! I went to Metrotown afterwards and Telus was giving out free panda bear stuffies hehe!! I already have a panda at home so now my panda can have a panda baby LOL!! I also went to Starbucks to claim my free birthday drink, and I got my usual order of Passiontea Lemonade!! I'm going to the library later to print out my coupon for my free birthday burger from Red Robins and Arby's LOL!! Sill contemplating which burger I should get at Red Robbins hehe. Hey, don't judge, who can say no to free stuff? :D Spicy Eggplant & Green Beans $10 3.5/5 stars This dish looks simple, but it's one of their signature dishes! Stirfried eggplants is a traditional chinese dish, but it was infused with indian spices, which gave it another dimension of flavour! The green beans were fresh and crunchy, and the eggplants were cooked perfectly, without being too mushy. There was also a ton of gi
The food here was so good! Every dish was a perfect combination of Indian and Chinese cuisine. Service was a bit slow since it's a small family run place. But they made it up by being extremely friendly.
Good Indian Chinese food in Burnaby Metro town area. The taste is quiet close to Chinese food you get in India. They don't have much of seating place and mostly do takeaways. Their chilli Chicken and Hakka noodle combo is good to try.
We order from them once a week for sure. The flavour of their Vegetarian Calcutta Hakka Chowmein is the best in Vancouver certainly! The smokey-ness, the choice of the noodle and the flavour - completely on point! But what really makes a huge difference for us is just how unbelievably amazing and SO friendly their customer service is! Each and every time the lady and the gentleman who answers the call for any special requests from us, is absolutely such a delight to talk to and so homely that you feel like you are talking to a loving family member that loves feeding you! It makes a huge difference for a business when the people running the show, actually care for their customers like their own - you guys are awesome!
Best indo-chinese food in Vancouver so far. I personally tried chowmein, Manchurian, dumplings and spring roll and very time it tastes consistently good. I Believe this place is really underrated. Very welcoming place.
The food here is Halal and it’s outstanding! However, what was more impressive was the customer service. They made us feel at home and the lady that took our order was incredibly nice. She knew that we were tourists and told us that the amount we ordered was sufficient. Any other place (and there’s plenty of them) would easily pounce on the opportunity to encourage us to order more to make more money. When someone is looking out for your best interest and not their own, that’s saying a lot. Anyone coming out of town should visit this place for a wonderful experience.
Unique delicious flavours. As someone super sensitive to heat, I was amazed by how much flavour they can pack in without making it spicy. I've never had butter chicken taste that good. The server was also incredibly friendly and attentive.
