Review Cozmos Cafe - Burnaby

One of my favourite go-to breakfast joints. They offer a fantastic classic breakfast and more. Reasonable prices and really great customer service. 10/10

Awesome delicious home made food. Great service. Cozy atmosphere. A hidden gem in North Burnaby. Love this restaurant

Not the same quality of food or service anymore (since Juanita and Sabrina took over). Being a long time regular customer, I have been truly trying to avoid writing this review but it wouldn't be fair to myself or to other customers. There seems to be a constant staff turnover, overpriced, lack of flavor, constant errors with my order, charging extra for 2 pieces of romaine lettuce for a bunless/lettuce wrapped burger (lettuce wraps are free of charge at whitespot, fat burger, a&w, earls, red robins etc...) After having a long and exhausting chat with one of the friendly servers, they suggested that I write this review since the new owners no longer care about the restaurant. My family and I will not be going back. šŸ˜ž

Cozy place with quick service and delicious foods, very oily though. I believe I will enjoy more next time if I can customize my food with a healthier one. Photos are Greek omelette and Greek benny.

Been to Cozmos several times now. Every time after eating here, I always immediately feel like I wanna go back the very next day. Brunch dishes are awesome. You do have to have the patience and wait for you food because everything is fresh and cook to order. Anyway, give this place a try, you would not regret it.

One of the worst breakfast places Iā€™ve had the pleasure of eating at. Plastic forks, paper cups, plastic Dixie cups. Sat at table with a couch that looked like it belonged in a ally. Extremely dry cold stiff eggs benny. Asked for an extra side of hollandaise and it arrived 8 minutes later. Zero seasoning or flavour, asked for salt, a table of three was given two packs of salt. No jam offered with the toast, just basic stuff. There was a moment when I asked myself if it was something we were doing but thereā€™s no way as everyone was polite and quiet so it doesnā€™t make sense to me.

Absolutely fabulous. Great view, cute spot, perfect balance of cafe and restaurant. And the food! Simplicity, quality, taste. Loved my salmon souvlaki plate (had already taken a bite from that potato) šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜

This home-style cafƩ will give you a taste of Greece and the west coast all in one. Every time my friend and I come here the food is always fresh, the coffee at a perfect strong note, and the service is excellent. I really feel like its a hidden gem along Hastings. I recommend their breakfast menu, it beats all the other chain breakfast joints. More importantly, they DO NOT cheap out on delicious ingredients like cheese and bacon. Highly recommend!

The California Benny was very tasty, but the english muffin was a bit tough. The service was very slow, it took a long time for the food to arrive. The older lady was very cheery, but our server was blah.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious (the greek food and burgers are unbelievable!), the service is quick and extremely friendly, and the prices are great. Would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a tasty meal!

This is a quirky, fun, and lively environment. The owners make this place a wonderful, warm and endearing place to dine. We are hooked and can't think of going anywhere else.

I gave this cafe a 5 for many reasons. Juanita, Sabrina and the rest of the family are Fun with a capital F. The energy of the place is welcoming and one feels at home. The food is great and I do believe they sprinkle a little love into everything they do. Good stuff you guys. Blessings.

Fab Eggs Benny! Friendly service. Great prices. Today was our first time eating here and we will certainly be back!

Most flippin amazing Nutella cheesecake Iā€™ve ever had 10/10

Very very busy. Interesting experience. Easy parking. I had the Italian omelette, it wasn't that great. Wasn't a true omelette. More of a scrambled mess. But the hash-browns were delicious. Coffee was meh. Staff was overwhelmed, will I be back? Prob not for awhile.

I highly recommend you stop by Cozmo's for dinner!

Instead of our usual delivery order, we decided to try out Cozmos Cafe one night because they had free delivery. I remember hearing good things about the place from Jerky, and Cozmos Cafe has been around for many, many years now so it should be pretty decent right?

Cute little breakfast/brunch spot in Burnaby. I thought the food was good, although nothing spectacular. We had the eggs Benedict and an omelette. I enjoyed the potatoes it came with. Customer service was good... but expected since there was only one other table when we went. Two thumbs up!

Came into Cozmos Cafe +Bistro on Hastings Street/BurnabyHeights neighbourhood for lunch by a quick Google search with no expectations and wished I knew about this place earlier! They have brunch as well as Greek plates, like this lamb souvlaki pictured. Meat was very tender, potatoes were lemony, lots of greek salad - overall a very satisfying dish.

This was a cute little cafe/restaurant in North Burnaby. The coffee was great, and the food mediocre. The service was good. It didn't take long for breakfast to be served. The hollandaise sauce didn't have any flavor, and the potatoes were deep fried. It's was an ok meal.

Very disappointed. I heard the food was good but unfortunately after one hour of wait for two sandwiches, we left. Bad service on the patio who needs a big makeover by the way...what a waist of a beautiful day:(

Came here to try it out. Service is friendly and quite quick. The girl working was a bit run off her feet with the lunch rush but was cheerful and I got my food quicker than I expected.

The food is great! I got the special; mushroom gravy meatloaf with salad. Best salad ever! The meatloaf is perfectly seasoned and hearty, and arrived hot!

I'll be back!

Delicious fresh food. Fresh and delicious!! When I told the friendly waitress how good and fresh the food tasted she said it was because all food is made to order and nothing is pre done or pre cooked. This is apparent when you taste the food and rare to find In restaurants these days. Brunch on the weekend is exceptional, eggs Benny are phenomenal. If you haven't checked this place out yet, I suggest you do. Amazing curly fries and the bocconcini baguette is to die for. It's under new ownership and the new staff is friendly and happy to be there. Highly recommend!!

Terrific restaurant with friendly staff and great daily specials. Their homemade minestrone soup was one of the best I've ever had. The breakfast bennys are delicious and they also make an excellent falafel. The great food and welcoming staff keep me coming back!

This restaurant was delicious. We ordered the roasted lamb dinner, chicken suvolaki dinner and calimari dinner for delivery. It took 45 minutes and all the food was so good I called the resturant to tell the chef. Only thing if you order the chicken suvolaki order 2skewers as well as the pita bread 1order us one piece, enough for only one person. But soooooo good. Will be ordering again and again and again. Good Job Cozmo's!!!!

Just not for me. Hmmm, have come here at a few different times of the day and haven't particularly liked any of the offerings. Breakfast wasn't good at all with a very dry omelette and ingredients just thrown in with overly greasy what they term "hashbrowns". (and I thought so when I was famished and would have probably eaten what was put in front of me) Coffee is so-so. Just a lone spanakopita was quite costly and I thought the pastry was so dried up that it was hard to eat. They do salads nicely. I love the location and the place is very clean, but there is not enough of a buffer really between customers and owners/servers I find. I quite enjoy conversing with servers ....it isn't that, but each time I have come here I can overhear the owners VERY loudly gossiping about people or discussing private matters. I don't want to know these things. lol. I suppose I personally found it uncomfortable.

Outstanding Roast Lamb. Tried the most expensive dish on the menu, Roast Lamb 15.95
- all served with greek salad, rice & roast potato. Don't like Greek Salad and had they kindly substituted a Caesar.
The lamb, delicious: Slow cooked in a clay pot with vegetables I was told. My partner choose Garlic Prawns with Greek Salad and Rice.
Fresh with a home made flavor.

Very loyal, went every Saturday for three years. Then, my friend's child acted up one morning, the owner told us to leave. Never went back! Everyone else can talk loud and be able to stay! I hope they are loyal to you?

AMAZING FOOD!. Some of the best greek food I have ever eaten. I am a regular at lunch and always get the sandwiches. Coffee is great as well.

Delicious Greek food!!!. I'm a Cozmos regular and look forward to the food without disappointment every time I visit. My favorite is the chicken souvlaki dinner. It's not as heavy as the souvlaki dishes at other restaurants that are usually just filled out with a pile of tasteless carbs. It comes with greek salad, rice and greek potatoes, and by far the best tzatziki I've ever had. If there is one thing I could say its show me the tzatziki!!!

Friendly owners/staff makes Egg Florentine even more desirable.

Are you kidding me?. Some friends had mentioned trying this cafe called Cosmos and i thought sure why not cafe's tend to be good and good value. Cosmo's was definitely not easy on the wallet, i ordered a Bruschetta and mozzarella baguette (served by itself) and a side of curly fries which tasted pretty good but not $18.20 good, couldn't believe my eyes when i got the bill for a sandwich and fries and it $18.20 and i didn't even order a drink otherwise it would have been over $20. Needless to say i won't be back anytime soon, i would rather go to Paul's up the street for some good and cheap lunch food.

The menu was limited, but everything we had was delicious (eggs florentine, breakfast panini). Casual atmosphere and service. I would go again.

Will never return. Went there this past weekend with two coworkers and three individuals with special needs, yet they were really looking forward to ordering coffees. We arrived at around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon where there were hardly any customers there, and the server/presumably owner told us that "we are more of a restaurant and next time we'll have to turn you away because you didn't order any food" The sandwhich board outside clearly says "COSMOS Bistro and COFFEE BAR" and we were CLEARLY experiencing discrimination against our clients with special needs. The waitress was rude and went above and beyond to make us feel unwelcomed by making us pay all upfront while we were seated at a table. In the meantime a woman with two teenage girls who entered after us, were served their drinks before us, and they DID NOT order any food, yet there were not given the same "warning". Unless you want to support a business that is unwelcoming to all customers do not go there.

As this spot is a little out of the way, unless you live in the area or frequent it for some other reason, it is difficult to justify traveling across two cities for a less than stellar eggs benedict.

MedicalGiraffe was back in town and she really does love brunch! The closest brunch place near our hood is Cozmos Cappuccino Bar & Grill. It's quite popular in the Burnaby North area. If you are a student from Burnaby North Secondary School, I am sure you've heard of this place as well. They have lots of seating and aren't too busy during weekend brunch. At least when we went there, it wasn't very full. They have a few cool interior pieces that make this place stand out. They have metal Greek god art pieces and in the back of the restaurant they have a mini waterfall. Their menu is very limited and you can get the usual omelets, and egg dishes. Latte was nothing special. Just taste like any regular latte. I tried ordering normal drip coffee, but the server didn't know what I was talking about. So, I just ordered this. After ordering our meal, I didn't get a good vibe from him. He seemed very cold towards us, like we were a bother to him. MedicalGiraffe and I were quite puzzled why he w

If youā€™re looking for a meal that is wildly creative and inventive, this is not the place for you. If you want one of the classics done well and at a reasonable albeit not incredibly inexpensive price, though, Cozmos Restaurant is a safe and consistent choice for brunch. The total bill for the two of usā€“including a cup of coffee, tax and tipā€“came to about $25.
