Great food; friendly service and they even gave a comp'd glass of champagne upon arrival at the hostess stand yesterday!
This is our regular haunt. The staff are always friendly, the food is always good and we always have a great time
Best service I've had yet! Complimentary beverages and desserts for my lil boys and I. Both the food and server were outstanding! 👌🏽
Greeted with a glass of champagne at lunch very awesome!!!
We were there for my wife's birthday. Excellent staff and service.
Food is always good, but the service is consistently amazing. Lounge is the way to go
Out of all of its direct competitors (Milestones, Cactus Club, etc.), I love Joey the most, especially their happy hour menu. Great place to watch a sports game or catch a drink after work.
Some of my favourite appetizers include their lettuce wrap with chicken (better than shrimp), spaghetti pomodoro, and their flatbreads. You must also get their off-menu item: mashed potatoes in spring rolls.
This location has a really nice and comfortable patio in an indoor-outdoor space.
Read my full review of their happy hour menu on my blog.
I have always wanted to try this place, so decided to go there for lunch. We were served with complimentary champagne on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was quite nice and the prices were quite reasonable. There wasn't much service, so I didn't think it was good or bad. Alteast they showed up when we flagged them down, but didn't really come to check on us, which is totally fine by me. I had the burger and it was absolutely delicious! My friend tried the lettuce wrap and said that it was good, but not great. Would love to come back and try other things from their menu.
Been here several times and always had great impressions.
The steak was perfectly executed and the flavour was well balanced. It’s simple but delicious!
The burger accompanied by skinny fries were delicious but not too special.
The service was top notch and attentive!
Great food, always delicious and a bit better than Cactus Club. I wish the food portions were a bit bigger, especially for the price. I was a bit disappointed to see the almost $30 ravioli only had about 10 pieces of ravioli. I was not full after that. Service was excellent though.
The ambiance of the dining area we were in was wonderful. The booths were comfy and the music not too loud. Our server was attentive and pleasant to chat with. My Moscow mule was refreshing and crisp. I love that this restaurant has a soy chicken option! It had a wonderful smoky barbequed flavour. I was able to make the lettuce wraps vegan by requesting no oyster sauce. They had a tasty chili oil substitution. I will definitely be back for another date night. Parking was easily found in the Madison center parkade.
My guest and I were looking for good drinks and cheap eats, and easily found both at “Joey’s”, this is one of her favourite restaurant chain and a usual go to. With $4 drinks and appetizers at $3.50 between 4 and 6pm everyday, I can see why. We both live in Burnaby so came to the one on lougheed. It is hard to spot driving by, when not really looking. A sandwich board directs you to the door. A shared space used by anyone entering and entering the building to Joeys, the liquor store, or the parkade.
Wonderful lunch, the homemade ice cream exceeded expectations, and server extraordinaire, Courtenay, knowledgeable, attentive, pleasant, professional, made everything perfect today. Definitely need to return to Joeys.
Your tastebuds will be in heaven.
Been to this Joeys location many times, and continue to come back. The food is good and I enjoy their drinks! Their bellini and sangria are my go-to drinks.
A must have is their Molten Chocolate cake. It is so yummy. Heaven in your mouth!
No longer in their menu is the Market Salad. It was one of my favourites. Quite the bummer.
Overall, good atmosphere and vibe.
Had a good date night with the bf. Friday specials were super stoked vodka coke - try it with cherry coke, so good! Started off with calamari (which was slightly over battered) then the big meals of steak and prawns! Bf had the ribs which were tender and fatty. Extra side order of spring roll mash potatoes!!! One happy full fat kid 😅
I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich, it was really good. It was messy, but I loved the cilantro coleslaw in it. Also a must is an order of the crispy mash.
California chicken sandwich is awesome!!!! Please try it :) I had it at Burnaby and Burrard. Equally yummy! Review too short. Must type more words.
Modern decor and well presented food. M and I decided to share the Sashimi Tuna and Pesto Shrimp Flatbread for the night since I was still very full from my big lunch. The picture below is from a split plate and I think the portion is quite generous for a $18 salad (so $9 each). The dressing has a very light gingery flavour, which goes well for my light flavour preference. I would have liked it more if it came with candied pecans than peanuts though. The tuna was fresh as you can see from the colour and there was no fishy taste at all. The flat bread reminded me of the seafood pizza from Steveston Pizza. The pesto sauce has a stronger flavour thus slightly too salty. There was shrimp in each piece and it's very easy to eat. Girls always like bite size food :P. Overall it's a great place for those who would like to chill and share plates. They have many options for sharing. Service was good and accommodating.
Love their Calamari, I always go there for my calamari the sauce its just amazing, and I always order stake fries. Most of the time the stake is great but sometimes it is just chewy and hard to swallow. Otherwise everything is great friendly service and nice atmosphere sometimes too loud but it is bearable.
Love this place very much! It's a family friendly restaurant. The food is consistently good even we only go there a few times in a year. Friendly staff and service is good too!!
Update, unfortunately they've removed the prime rib French dip from their menu. That was about my sole reason for going here for lunch. A shame really.
Old review:
Good eats, good atmosphere. Can't eat here too often due to costs, but on the special occasions I do eat here I haven't been disappointed. The prime rib beef dip is just amazing. The fish tacos and ravioli pasta are also great despite the seemingly small portions. Definitely recommended for get togethers and special occasions as it seems you can't go wrong with this place.
Service is good. Food is tasty. The decor is really nice. Even the wash rooms look great.
Ive been to this restaurant a couple times now and I had a good experience both times. Good food, atmosphere, and service. Would recommend!!
We are at Joey burnaby right now. We have been here for 3hrs. The restaurant is clean, the food is amazing and the staff is stellar. But, all of that pales in comparison to the bartender on the sky bar. Sebastian is excellent. We were moved to the dinning room, but chose to come back up to the sky bar. He is very good at his job. His conversation is genuine without being intrusive. If it weren't for him we would not have gone back up and would have never known how amazing the pesto shrimp flatbread was.
Went here for my son's first birthday and it was such an amazing experience. The service was fantastic, the food was great, they were patient with our food allergies and baby mess, and we could even bring our own birthday cake at no extra charge. Thank you so much for an evening we will cherish forever.
Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to Joey on a date. I can't say one bad thing. Even though we had a 25 minute wait, I didn't mind. The hostess brought the people waiting little flatbreads to keep our hunger down. We were seated at a booth right near the entrance. Our server Ashley was very nice and we received our drinks immediately. We ordered the. Yam fries for an appetizer and they came very quickly. After my boyfriend ordered the steak and sushi which he loved and I ordered the ravioli. After we ordered a "happy ending" for dessert which was very rich but very delicious. I had a wonderful experience at Joey burnaby. The restaurant looked wonderful and everyone working there had a smile on their face. I would 100% go back there.
Great food and service to match!. I eat out all the time, this is one of he few places i go where i know the food quality and service is always consistent, sooo much better in so many ways than earls or cactus with better looking servers too! you wont be disappointed
My favourite restaurant!. Hands down, i think this is by far my favorite restaurant! ive been to many, many, many places and never once have such a satisfying flavor and experiences. I remember my server name was Kelly, she was very pretty and very nice! best service, delicious food, great atmosphere, everything was close to perfect. i ordered gyoza for appetizer it was so good i had to order another one. for main me and my bf ordered STEAK & SUSHI and their new SCALLOP AND RAVIOLI. The steak & sushi was not that great because the rice was dry, cold and old and the inside wasnt that tasty and the tuna tataki style steak was just okay, the meat smell a little bit, the portion was small but other than the steak & sushi main everything else was perfect, the scallop and ravioli had great flavors! scallop was cooked to perfection and ravioli was soft and the inside was tasty! better than the butter squash ravioli with prawns at cactus, and i love the butter squash ravioli but i get sick of it after 3 pieces tho. deff didnt get sick eating the scallop ravioli i ate alot of it! the dessert we had was the Italian donuts omg!! it was perfect! the custard was to die for! i was so full from the food but i litterly scrapped of all the sauce on the dessert plate thats how good it was! the drink i got was joeys burst no liquor because im pregnant, i had to have two! it was delicious and cheap! i deff recommend everyone to go to joeys! better than the keg, cactus, brown social house and earls forsure!
Super food!. This place has very good decor. I love the food. The service is pretty good. The place is really clean. It is one of my favorite restaurants. The waitresses are nice. The food is sometimes oily though I still really like it. Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Solid. Well its hard to go wrong with these kind of places these days... the keg, cactus club, milestones, moxies, earls, and joeys. Great menu, I had the french dip which was actually very good. The prime rib in the ever so soft bun is served medium rare, the beef was so tender and juicy and when the whole assembly enters the dip it tastes oh so good. Good fries, good caesar salad, and being monday; a sleeve of whistler pale ale for only 3 bucks? This is a sure spot for lunch for me now.
We met a Goddess!. Visited on a Sunday night, not a busy night here.
Let me say that our server Goddess Shelley was quite memorable, cute and witty....and on top of the job at hand.
Well what can I say about the rather dull looking decor, kind of like high end Eastern Bloc....Dullsville.
Nice signal on the flat screen TV's though, could be the place to watch sporting events. Nice selection of beers that we had never heard of, fun times, we enjoy trying beers that we are not familiar with.
We ordered the Truffle yam Fries and wolfed them down with sweet abandon, maybe they should offer a more basic dipping sauce, the truffle sauce was a bit froo froo for The Daves.
Ordered two salads, a little Market which was fresh crisp and tasty. Other salad was a Caesar, still waiting for it as all that received was Romain lettuce. What happened to the sauce and parmesan cheese, anchovies and garlic. My chicken Linguini seemed to go down well, wouldn't rave about it though, maybe just a bad choice. Dave 2 had the 8oz Sirloin which was nicely seasoned and quite tender, well priced at $23.5.
Overall a decent enough experience in wonderful and exciting Burnaby! on a Sunday night!
Ahi tuna tacos are awesome and they offer lettuce cups instead of the flour shell tortilla which makes a great gluten-free option. They also have Gleuten free options including steak, butter chicken, strawberry chicken salad, and a salmon dish. All awesome choices. No gluten free soya sauce but that was ok for me.
Joey delivered. Cut loose after work! One of the best meal experiences I have had lately. Organised a big work celebration here - 20 people, and girl from functions helped me organised it. The staff were lovely, sexy let's be honest, and gave us the best service. The wines perfectly accompanied the meat and was Amazing. Worth every penny. Another recommendation is the wagayu steak. Melt in your mouth. Condiments were delicious. Would highly recommend this place to all meat lovers. Including the blondie waitress who was delightful (wow). You won't be disappointed!
Good Food, Better Waitresses. This place is stocked piled full of hotties and that should be a reason alone to come here. The atmosphere in this place is amazing. Always playing good music, the lights are relaxing and the beer tastes good, not to mention the food. I've had a few things here but I really like their Burgers and Chicken Burger as well as their wings which are second to none. I have watched a few Canuck games at Joeys and drank my fair share of screwdrivers which were alright. They also have a good selection of beer and again the ladies at this place are all at least 8's.
Ahi tuna tacos. Tuna is seared slightly raw, with cabage slices of carrots in a crispy taco shell. The sweet wasabe dip brings all the flavirs together.
JOEY is a hip, modern dining place with a similar vibe to Cactus Club...Yam Fries & Truffle Lemon Aioli - $8.25 Yam fries with grated grana padano and truffle lemon aioli The yam fries were like regular good ol’ yam fries... We loved the smooth truffle aioli it came with!...Trio of Dips - $12 This was a generous appetizer, there was a s moked trout dip, cheese dip and hummus dip . Our bread came a little bit burnt but we enjoyed the dip for the most part. We both loved the trout but Phoebe thought the cheese was too strong for her (we think it might be pepper jack..)
Huge restaurant on Lougheed Highway near Brentwood Mall. The interior seems like a Yaletown-ish look with a mix of vintage decor but modern, slick look. The staff here looks like they could be models. The higher-end look is also reflected in the price of the dishes. It was a group of us, and we ordered dishes to share, as well as our own main dish. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo $18 with garlic, cream, nutmeg, arugula, shaved Grana Padano. It was really good and filling. Since it was the first time going there, I left the others decide the other dishes. The Japanese Gyoza $11.50, pork dumplings with hot mustard was presented very well and tasted good too. The Szechuan Edamame $8.25 (wok tossed with chilies, garlic, soy sauce) was interesting mix of Japanese food and Chinese flavour. It was quite addictive, lol. Though I thought I’d never pay $8.25 for a bowl of edamame. I don’t think I would have ordered it if it were coming out of my own pocket. The bathroom wa
The classic butter chicken dish is usually served with rice, but I also decided to change things up, vying for a tossed salad instead. The butter faux-chicken arrived mixed in with bell peppers which added some colour to the broth; there was a little heat to it but my cold tossed salad really balanced it out.
I don’t normally order chicken at restaurants because they cook the chickens dry. I hate dry chicken and it usually ends with me hating my meal. My favourite part to eat of the chicken is the skin. It is not healthy but it is so tasty.
The first appetizer we ordered were the yam fries ($7.99). These came out hot and crispy and were topped with parmesan cheese and served with a side of truffle lemon aioli. These are some of the better yam fries I have had because they stayed crisp. I also enjoyed the aioli because it was creamy and a little tart to balance the sweetness of the fries
In Part 1 of our ode to stress relief, we visited Joey Broadway to drown our sorrows – I guess we were more stressed than we realized because we immediately made plans to visit Joey Burnaby the following night. We started out our night with a virgin Mojito and a Really Fuzzy Navel
It was half full by the time we arrived there. I really like this location since it's easy parking, and not metered. Marv decided to get the Beef Dip. The au jus is NOTHING compared to the one we've had at Fraser Park Restaurant.
Joey's opened in my hood! As a way to say "we're in the neighbourhood", they flooded the apartment towers nearby with a $10 gift card. I decided to head over one night to use mine with my work bff. The next night, I went again with my parents. Here is a c
