We come here at least 2-3x a year, so I figured it was time for an update post!
This location is located next to the Costco in North Burnaby. There is a big, free parking lot but we still find it hard to find parking, depending on the time of the year or if it’s Mother’s/Father’s day. Prime rib, medium rare, 8 oz: This is my parent’s go-to! Their prime rib is always amaaaazing. It is tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The tuna steak was very small and not that filling. I found it to be a bit dry too. For the portion and price, the steak was definitely the better value and I felt pretty ripped off by this.
The service and food at this Keg are amazing. My favourites are the Keg caesars and the steak with mushrooms. The steak is always cooked the way I like it.
The keg is surprisingly kids friendly. We came here with our toddler for our anniversary. They gave us a vegetable plate for my toddler while he wait for his food. We get to enjoy our food while my son enjoy his. Will come again.
Really delicious steak in a really cool atmosphere. I enjoyed my maple filet mignon. They cooked perfectly how I requested it. Service was also friendly.
The Keg is a place that specializes in steaks. It has little else, but that is just as well because the steaks. Are. Awesome. They are the best steaks I have ever had. And out of all the restaurants I have reviewed, that’s saying a lot.
You all probably know by now, and it goes without saying, but the prices here are HORRENDOUSLY expensive. You would be well advised to prepare to pay a fortune if you are coming here. Enjoy!
It's Valentine's Day, no reservations so we came in early so the wait is only 30mins.
We had the escargot for appetizer and it was very good. Our steaks were cooked perfect, the way we like them medium rare. One of us ordered 1/2 rack ribs which is good but small so if you're hungry, get the full rack.
Being the busiest day of February, we had great service + we enjoyed our server's good sense of humour. Good job Brad. Cheers.

Went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and treated ourselves to their summer lobster fest. The lobster tacos were delicious despite the tiny pieces of deep-fried lobster meat in them. They also split up the Caesar salad for us, and it too, was very tasty. However, the lobster tail was far too salty to the point we couldn't dunk it in the melted butter and we simply couldn't finish it as it was so salty. Rather than waste the meat, we packed the rest to go as my wife can dice it and make fried rice with it to offset the saltiness.
The staff were friendly and also very conscientious and accommodating to our food sensitivities (wife to gluten, me to sesame) which we appreciated. Since the cake wasn't gluten-free, our server allowed us to have creme brulee as a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, and it was delicious - not overly sweet with just the right amount of carmelization - not overcrisp and sticking to your teeth. She also didn't charge for the salad, presumably to compensate for the (expensive) lobster tail being so disappointing.
Overall, for atmosphere, service and other food dishes being tasty, I would still recommend this place and return in the future.
The Keg is much like Las Vegas. The more you go, the more you like it, even if you disliked it the first time. Reason being is every single Keg you go to is consistent and you know what you are getting. Good selection, great value and good service. They don't rely on mini skirts either here. They respect their staff and it shows in the service they provide. This time I got the prime rib. Cooked to perfection. Highlight was actually the smoking hot horseradish that came with the dish. Only change would have been to put some veggies in the plate. Was only meat and potatoes.
Today (april 27th) just so happened to be national prime rib day, so what better way to celebrate than to go to the keg for some prime rib? I decided to get a patio seat which was beautifully arranged, the only downfall is that it is outdoors so we did see a spider crawl on our table. My boyfriend thought it was most appropriate to order the 24 oz prime rib, this is a HUGE piece of meat my friends.. be warned. In fact, its so big that its not even on the menu! He also ordered the baseball steak as well, not like we didnt have enough food HAHHA. The cuts of meat were cooked perfectly to how we asked (rare-med rare) and very tender. Overall, it was fairly good if you have a big meat craving you need to satisfy. The service was also great!

It was a day we were celebrating our Anniversary so we got a really quiet area.

totally forgot it was Dine Out Vancouver, but customers don’t have to order from the set menu. I contemplated for a long time to see if I wanted to order from the menu. My asian mind started calculating numbers to see what was a better deal. A $40 3-course meal isn’t cheap here, but I only had to pay a few more bucks for an appetizer and dessert.
As part of the dine out menu, I started off with the Caesar Salad, which is typical with their regular Keg Classic meals. I had a mad craving for a caesar salad, so I didn’t get the baked garlic shrimp or the wild mushroom soup. It had the right amount of dressing on each leaf, plus cheese and croutons are so good.
For my entree, I got the New York Striploin at 12oz with some veggies and you choice of side. I chose to have the roasted garlic mashed potatoes as my side.
I got them to cook it the striploin to medium rare, just the way I like it. It was very tender and has nice grill marks on it. The veggies are ok, but it felt a tad undercooked. The mashed potatoes were awesome.
The Keg Steakhouse + Bar is a Canadian chain of steakhouse restaurants and bars located in Canada and the United States. M really was craving steak and I had a $50 gift card to use from my work, so we decided to come here for dinner. We actually come here quite often since the steaks are good and prices aren’t too high compared to other places.
I came here for dinner tonight. It was easy to find parking as this Keg has a big parking attached to it.
The servers inside would smile to us when we walked into the restaurant. We felt they were friendly. Our server was great as well. He asked for drinks right after we sat down. He gave us enough time to review the menu and ordered for us. He would check on us during the meal.
We ordered prime rib and rib steak. Both of them were excellent. We had prime rib at the Keg once a year. They could maintain the quality very well. They were $30 or more per dish but we paid for good quality. The side for our dishes was fries and mashed potato. Both were excellent as well.
The only thing we did not like was the ambience. It was like a 80's restaurant being traditional and old style. Other than that, we loved the food here.
Always a winner from good food to great service. They also pride themselves on excellent customer experience. Their manager is very busy as they standards are set extremely high. Always safe at a Keg restaurant
Loved the service here! My friend and I were just going to get a couple late night drinks and didn't know what time they were closing. The hostess let us in and we ordered 6 appies and wine and the server was super patient with us. At 12:30 the manager came to tell us that they were actually closed at 11:30 and we felt terrible because we didn't know but the waiter was still so patient! The food at the keg is always consistent. I prefer their appetizers over their entrees but still yummy regardless :)
Winter Grill Menu - Winter Manhattan. The Keg is doing a Winter Grill menu that's available until Mar 23rd.
I tried the Winter Manhattan which comes with a Manhattan cut of their New York steak. While a New York steak is fairly lean (coming from the loin), the Manhattan cut is a thicker cut with more fat to it. They top the steak off with tender braised short rib and it comes with the usual choice of sides (I picked the twice baked potato and veggies).
Pretty good steak but the braised short rib on top was the real winner.
Better than expected. Went there during the "Dine-out Vancouver" event. Everything was good except the soup was not hot enough. The New York steak was tender and juicy. The Salmon steak was really good too.
Strongly recommended.
Went here during dine out. I wasn't expecting much since I've been going here as a child. .. But oh my! This was definitely the best steak I've ever had from the keg. And the cheese cake is to die for. Will be back !
Great Food. This is the only Keg that I will go to.
Pros: Their prime rib burger is awesome.
Cons: Whoever has answered the phone is inconsistent. They say they will take takeout orders but then they won't. We have a preschooler and sometimes takeout is just easier. Hubby went in after they turned us away on the phone and his order was taken right away. Three different days they were inconsistent.

Best keg i've been to. Compared to the Keg located downtown and the one in Richmond, this Keg has by far the best tasting prime rib ever! It was so juicy and tender. The other Kegs always had some chewy parts but this one didn't. I would definitely recommend going to this one for their prime rib. (I like having it medium or medium rare)
Keg 4 life. Came here while there was a DOV promotion. Jessi ordered the Baked Goat Cheese (warm goat cheese coated in crushed almonds, with tomato basil salsa), & Pecan Sirloin (grilled top sirloin, basted and coated in chopped pecans & topped w/ crumbled goat cheese), while I ordered Baked Garlic Shrimp (baked shrimp w/ garlic, herbs, Jack & Cheddar cheeses) & Prime Rib w/ baked potatoes & seasonal veggies. Everything was absolutely perfect with the exception of the Prawn appetizer being too greasy but overall the meal was excellent. I personally loved the Baked Goat Cheese, the tomato basil salsa made it extra refreshing! the Billy Miner Pie is a must-have!
Great steak. If you like steak, this is the place to go. It doesn't matter which location you go, you are guaranteed to get a great meal. I love their fresh bread buns too. Excellent value.
I had a little problem in one of the locations with the lighting and I was impressed with how the company handled my concern. Excellent customer service.
The Keg is typically quite good, especially if you like meat. This Keg looks good, and is quite comfortable. The only problem here is that they are too busy. They don't take reservations, so if you aren't here early (or even if you are, on the weekends) you might have a long, long wait.
Alright place. I've always liked steaks at the Keg, this location is no different. The location is not that great, so you won't get much of a view or anything. But the ambiance is good and it's not super busy.
I’ve passed by this location so many times but whenever I think of going to the Keg, I usually opt for the trendier downtown locations instead. However, this visit has completely changed my opinion. The Burnaby location is spacious and just as luxurious as it’s Downtown counterparts. For starters we got the Garlic Cheese Toast ($6) and Baked Brie ($11). I love brie but baked brie is even better. The basil pesto and red pepper jelly also compliments the baked brie really well. The garlic cheese toast was just garlic cheese toast, nothing special. My boyfriend and I got the large 16oz Prime Rib ($30) with garlic mashed potatoes to share. If you never had prime ribs from the Keg then you’re missing out on life. It’s tender, moist and melts in your mouth – so amazing! Neither of us finished our mains but of course we had to get dessert. The Sweet Minis trio ($8) consists of a butter tart, mango crème brulee and a fudge brownie. The butter tart was still warm and it was pure bliss with the
Before you think me a monster, I want you know something. It’s not that I’m a terrible person (most of the time) and it’s not that I don’t love full course meals for one cheap price but it’s time to face the music people.
Dine Out Vancouver ain’t cheap and with Dine Out Vancouver 2015, I’m feeling the pinch. And if we’re really being honest with ourselves, it’s been years since Dine Out has actually been a price I’ve been comfortable with.
One place that is almost always consistently satisfying is none other than the beloved steakhouse, the Keg. It is also almost the only place that I recommend for DoV. The DoV value is awesome. Plus, you get free bread and comfortable seats - definitely a win-win situation in my books!

The Burnaby location is my all time favourite Keg restaurant, I swear their prime rib tastes the best! The prime rib tastes flavourful, tender and melts in the mouth. For my choice of seafood, I went with the lobster tail.
The 10 oz Filet Mignon was wrapped in bacon and extremely tender.
It’s best to come down quick because the Winter Grill Menu is only going to be around until March 25th.
I’m a creature of habit… each time I go to the Keg I always seem to order the boneless beef rib steak – preferably Chicago-style, cooked medium-rare (check out our last visit here). It’s not that I haven’t tried all of the other cuts and dishes… I just really like how juicy and tender the rib steak is. Anyhoo, when I saw a different item on their menu the last time we stopped by, I figured I’d give it a shot.
This is the steak that I came for… the 16 oz Rib Steak, Chicago style (charred outside) and cooked to medium rare
I always say I will try something different but you can’t go wrong with the Filet Mignon. Always so tender and the bacon wraps it all up nicely. Plus, the Double-Baked Potato made for a good compliment that was just right to fill me up on this night.

When you think of the Keg, you think of slabs of mouthwatering meats
Filet Mignon (7oz – $32 | 10oz – $37) has the tenderloin wrapped in applewood smoked bacon. You get your choice to a side and he chose roasted vegetables. It is very tender! M got his medium rare and it was spot on.
Overall, we really like this place for their steaks, but some dishes can be overpriced.
The Keg has always been a favorite place for M and I. Today we were suppose to go to Gothams, but after paying for parking and walking one block to the restaurant, we decided to go back to Burnaby. SO close! Damn the little fights that couples have…. lon
