Lined up for 30 mins to get in on a late Thursday night which I did not mind because it was worth it. Food was really good, portion size is huge, and price is very affordable. It was my first time and I was pleased with my experience. We are from Langley so the drive was all worth it. Only one thing that threw me off a little bit was one of the servers (asian guy, im asian too) was really rude towards the other guests. But other than that, it was all awesome.
We have never been disappointed with any meal that we have had at Anton's. My personal favourite is gnocchi wth arrabiata sauce. As for the portions, well, I have never known anyone to finish a meal in one setting. There are always leftovers to be boxed up and taken home. Delicious food, friendly staff, and great service.
There's a reason people will travel from California to eat here. I'm lucky enough to have lived a couple blocks away and order take out to avoid the line-ups. You caan't go wrong with anything on the menu and the entrees can be customized to your preferences. From spinach pasta to a garlic cream sauce, etc. The portions are gigantic and the pasta el dente every time. Anton's is the best you'll ever eat.
So amazing, and well worth the wait. The portions are huge! Service was exceptional. Would highly recommend. But be prepared for the wait. But it is so worth it.
The best pasta place i have been to making the old spaghetti factory 2nd best pasta place. Antons is number 1 and the best
It’s the best place to eat in Vancouver worth the wait standing in line

Awesome food and great service! Couldn't believe the quality and size of the portions. Was also incredibly impressed by the prices. Well worth a bit of waiting. Highly recommend!
Aside having to wait in line, which went relatively fast, this is a small family owned business with the biggest plates of pasta I have ever seen, very economical for what you are getting. We had enough for dinner the next night and then again the next day. Friendly service, would definitely recommend!
Former Lower Mainland resident living in Oklahoma. Besides the ocean, I miss Anton's the most! Cant find anything as good down here yet, and been all across the country.
In brief, been associated w/ Anton's since inception. My friend Jerry Foster designed their original logo (award winning commercial artist.) so I had the "heads up" from day one this was the place to eat.
One dish I havent seen mentioned scrolling the reviews is their Fettucine Alfredo. This is easliy the most delicious alfredo sauce I've ever had! Used to drive regularly from Langley/Surrey for take out!
Many terrific dishes, I'm especially fond of the Lasagna and similar dishes (Mancotti, etc.) Yes, you can expect to wait on the sidewalk most of the time. But there are very few restraunts anywhere lined up every day and night like Anton's.
It really is that great!
Unfortunately, like any business, a few folks have bad moments. With a restraunt this busy, obviously a few mistakes happen. But myself, I have NEVER had a bad experience at Antons. The staff has always been pleasant and professional, the food amazing. Thank you Tony and your great staff for years of terrific times!
Here's to at least another 20 years!
**PS: Serving sizes dinner usually too large to eat in one shot, so you end up with lunch or dinner for tomorrow.
Anton's Pasta Bar has always been our family's favorite pasta place for a long long time it's worth the wait knowing that their portion are huge and delicious service is great the servers make sure that you are satisfied overall it's an outstanding small cozy gem that can feed you to the fullest magnifico!
Ever since moving to Vancouver this place is my go to place for pasta. Absolutely amazing food. Portions are a touch too big(even for me lol) but considering how amazing the food is I don't care
My favourite pasta bar ever! Yes the wait is long, but it is so worth it! I love the Conchiglie Frutti di Mare (even my baby does 👍🏻) and the staff are amazing! Will always return 💕
Every time I’m in van I have to hit up the best pasta in the world !!! Never miss a meal here
I took a friend of mine here for his birthday. I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant because I heard a lot of great things about it. With the long line ups every day, I was discouraged from going in but for a special occasion, it’s worth the wait. We had our names listed and within a few minutes we were called in. Seating for 2 people is much easier to accommodate obviously. I had the white sauce pasta and my friend ordered the red sauce based pasta. Their wine selection was not extensive but well priced. It was all about the pasta. The sauce they make for their pasta dishes are absolutely delicious and addictive. Every bite was worth the wait. The dish sizes were HUGE! My friend is a big guy and even he couldn’t finish his dish. We both ended up taking out pastas home. I had half of the plate left over. The next day, the pasta still tasted delicious. Not sure if it is the garlic that makes it so tasty but nonetheless, if I didn’t have a carb limit, I would be here every day. You pay for one meal $17.50 but get two because you’ll have lots of leftovers.
If you are hungry for dinner, are you willing to wait outside for 45min in the cold rain? Everyone is doing it and they know why. Wait, lets try something; Imagine the sweet aroma of pesto and roasted garlic, with woffs of boiling pasta and fresh bread. The staff is hussling here and there serving about 20-25 tables. Patrons are big-eyed and smiling with massive portions of hand-made tender penne or linguini in front of them. Laughter and pure joy saturates your soul to it’s core, inspiring you to make this memory last forever. Good times will be had, as Italian food should be synonymous with such joyous occassions.
Now go back outside to your spot in line. Don’t worry they will take your name and it will all be worth it because there will be more tomorrow; in the take-away container that everyone takes home with them after they’re done.
What a wonderful place. Amazing food and the huge portion sizes make up for the slightly higher prices. Warm service even during their peak hour crowds. Would love to be back!
Anton's is best known for their giant pasta portions at a cheap price! It is usually lined out the door. The pasta itself is nothing SUPER special, but it is good for what you pay for. Be prepared to line up unless you come early!
Me & my friends went here for our 3hr break and it was so good! The food size was big enough for all of us not being able to finish it. Staff was great. And we came right after the opened so we didn't have to wait in line.
Good Food, service fast and friendly, very clean place, easy car or bus access but little bit hard finding parking. Never been disappointed in my experiences there. Would definitely bring friends and family
It has been years since I tried t is restaurant. I was not disappointed. Pasta portions were huge and the pasta was fresh and tasty. Service was warm and friendly.
Friendly, quick service. All of the servers I've had were great in terms of their attention to detail and ability of direct you towards what you might like on their vast menu. I either get the Angelica with the creamy spicy tomato sauce, hold the pine nuts or the Penne Antonio. Their tiramisu is also amazing. The portions are huge and I find that I have leftovers for days after. Flavours have depth- this is no basic pasta house like the Olive Garden or Earls or any of those chains that serve basic pastas. This place is a must-visit.
best pasta place ever. portions are huge, considering the price. one order gives me up to 4 meals! i also love the bread. other than the long wait during dinner, this is the best place to go to.
This is the best place for pasta if you're really hungry as they serve very huge amount per order. Their pasta is delicious. A lot of selection from their menu. The place is very busy and a bit expensive. One visit here is enough for me.
Huge portions ! Great taste .. good service .. even the deserts are nice. For downtown crowd it could a little ride but you won't regret it .
Well, my friend didn't like. It maybe taste greasy when u about to finish it, not the one for people who prefer bland food, maybe? However, I like it a lot;) pesto sauce is the holy light in my life;)
A longstanding favorite that doesn't disappoint. You can always count on big lineups and big plates. Like anywhere else, the dishes are hit or miss depending on personal preference. My go-to dishes are Agnolotti Cardinale, Fusilli Alla Toscana and the Canelloni Alla Fiorentina. I do find, however, that as I get older (never you mind how old I am) that the sauces seem too heavy with too much flour to thicken them. Don't get me wrong, it's a good time with friends and I'll go whenever I can...I just don't love it as much as I used to . It's more of a novelty, and certainly a great neighborhood restaurant, but if I want really great quality Italian food I'll go elsewhere.
Pasta is amazing and well worth the wait. The plate is by far too much to finish in one sitting but leftovers can last for 3-4 meals afterwards. Worth the money. Absolute delish
Their portions are really large but you feel like they give you too much. Great service, very attentive servers. This place is always crowded
This is my favourite place to put myself into a food coma. The pasta portions are extremely generous and even 2 people will get full from it. The variety of pastas and options to bake it gives each dish a second identity. Come hungry and be prepared for the line up. I give this place 2 thumbs up.
Fresh, and delicious pasta that's always made to order coupled with friendly service and a surprisingly interesting (and expansive) menu. I find it a little amusing that they serve bread rolls as a pre-meal appetizer; in my experience they're hardly ever eaten since the portion sizes here are absolutely gargantuan! Honestly the only real criticism I can give this place is that their dinner service is consistently packed, and as such, you'll have quite some trouble finding a table if you do decide to go then. Bro tip - Do lunch instead.
We heard about the large portions and delicious pasta but were skeptical until we tried it today. The pasta was amazing. We had fettuccine Alfredo, gnocci with tomato sauce, and penni with herb sauce and artichoke. Each dish has its own distinct flavour. We usually avoid garlic. Although everything has garlic, we didn't notice the garlic until afterwards, and the garlic didn't not over power the flavours. We look forward to eating at Anton's again.
Love coming here
The pasta is great the bread and butter is nice and fresh and the portions wow sooooo much the plate feeds two people and more
I enjoy coming to Anton's even if I will wait more than 2 hrs
Anton's is a very reasonable Italian restaurant, but it can get very busy with a line up of people waiting to be seated and so we usually order take-out. The food quality is just a bit better than average, but the portion sizes are huge making this a very good value overall.
If you are on a low fat low sodium diet do not come to this restaurant unless you only want a salad lol
Well worth the wait!
Food is delicious and service is top knotch!
If you like pasta, look no further!
Don't forget to try having you dish baked with a nice layer of cheese covering the whole dish!
Anton’s is famous for their huge portions and their consistent dinnertime lineup down the street. This was my first visit, though I’ve had Anton’s takeout before (we usually get 2 pasta dishes to split between the 4 of us! And rumours are that their in-house portions for dinner are even bigger!!)
Selection was good. Delicious variety of sauces and pasta. It's nice to see that after being open for all these years the servings are still very plentiful. So many restaurants end up raising their prices and skimping on the servings. The ambiance could be a little more segregated to control the noise. But other than that I would go back.
I thought this place was pretty good in terms of price and portion. Although the price initially seems like a lot (I believe minimum payment for each person is around $13?), the portions are deceivingly big. My friends and I all had leftovers that we took home. There's also an entire section dedicated to vegetarians, and they have some interesting choices like the curry pomodoro that I tried. I would definitely come back again.
This restaurant used to be so much better it's just sad really. Food has gone from great to just meh and the staff are soooo so so so so I cannot stress enough SO rude and miserable!! Please get new management and bring the old passionate Antons back!!
She sells seashells by the seashore. The only reason why I bring up this tongue-twister is that I wound up ordering the Conchiglie Alla Cosentina at Anton’s Pasta Bar back in early March.
Conchiglie is a type of shell pasta and quite ingenious since the shape naturally allows the sauce to adhere to the pasta. Speaking of sauce, the pasta was served with a parmesan sauce made with chicken broth and mixed with leeks, carrots, celery, peas, and Italian pancetta.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not one to wait in long lines for Anton’s… but there was no lineup when we arrived. If you’re looking for huge plates of pasta, you can’t go wrong here.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? The portions are massive, the service is friendly, the prices are low, the pasta is fresh, and everything is delicious! Apparently there are huge waits at night so go for lunch!
Best. Pasta Place. Ever.
I love Anton's because it is in my neighborhood, at a good price, amazing portions and amazing food. I went earlier today with my brother and dad and we all got some type of noodle.
My brother got the Italian flag which had 1 pesto sauce, 1 creamy white sauce and 1 meat sauce and it was divided to look like the Italian flag. The white sauce was creamy and good and he didn't let me try the others
I got the one that was meat stuffed inside noodles with a rich meat sauce slathered over it. Trust me, this is good. I also got the iced tea along with everybody else.
My dad got the shrimp and chicken with noodles and a nice sauce, all the dishes were very good. Steaming straight from the kitchen, quick service and nice waitresses and waiters, this is definitely a 5.
Casual Italian restaurant that serves you a huge portion. I never see anyone actually finishes the entire dish without taking leftovers home. The quality is quite average and taste is also average at best. If you look for casual food, this restaurant fits the bill but if you are looking for quality Italian restaurant, there are way better Italian restaurants in metro Vancouver
Located on Hastings street in North Burnaby. Food is good and portion size is huge. Did a pick up order on a Friday night rather than dining in as the lineup wraps around the building on weekends due to the restaurant size.
Lineups out the door until 8PM during dinner time! Monstrous portions of pasta! I got the Fuscilli "Creamy Pasta" and my friend got the Fettuccine Con Prosciutto E Asparagi. We barely made a dent and was super full. Got rest packed and the togo box was spilling!

Finally had a chance to visit Anton's and indeed waited in their notorious lineup for a good 30 mins at least, but they were quite apologetic when bringing us in. They have a great selection of items to choose from, though I was a little surprised at the prices. Didn't do research online, so I guess it's my fault. When I hear people tell me it's "cheap" I imagined around $12-15 per pasta dish. Closer enough at $18, they DO have a minimum of $14/person unfortunately. Onto the food!
I ordered a fusilli alla marinara (forgot the exact name). It had mussels, bacon, tomatoes, peas, and scallions in a creamy tomato sauce. The pasta was al dente and sauce was flavorful. Some pieces weren't covered, so were bland and flavorless. I had about 1/6 of it and was super full. They weren't kidding about the quantity!
Adorables got fusilli with chicken and peas in a creamy dill pesto sauce. I tried a piece and it was very creamy and fragrant. Adorables said it wasn't anything spectacular and I gotta agree, it was good, but not foodgasmic.
Not sure why, but it did take us a while to flag down our waitress to pack our stuff to go, either way she eventually saw our waving hands after 5 minutes. I feel like maybe she didn't pack everything on my plate into the container since I had a lot more left than Adorables but both containers felt the same weight... OH WELL.
Been going here my entire life. I love this place. It's not just the food, because the food is phenomenal, it's also the vibes. It's managed to capture the feeling of the hole in the wall, while always having a line outside.
Yea the portions are gigantic but the taste wasn't great. The chicken I had was dry and one of the pasta plates felt under cooked. This place is good to try at least once but probably no more than that.
My wife and I have been going here steadily for 5 years. We have found some favourites but try to order something different every time. In those 5 years we have never found a dish we don't like. Styled with a New York Italian feel this place offers plates piled high with enough of your favorite pasta to eat for three meals. If you should finish it all you get a pen that will tell everyone proudly "you ate it all at Anton's".
If you like big portions, you'll like Anton's. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for a table. Don't expect authenticity (ie true al dente) but Anton's has one the best lasagne in the world. Their tomato sauce is second only to Coco Lezzone in Florence.
The food is great. The seating is cramped, especially when your sharing your table with 50lbs of delicious pasta. Try to get here early (like lunchtime) if you don't want to wait in line like everyone else. Fussily New Orleans. It's the best
Three girls, Four pastas. And one pitcher of mojito (very mint-y and with the right amount of sweetness)! But of course, we left with boxes of leftovers. It was my first visit to Anton's, but i had been well aware of the portion size they serve. I expected my appetite would be killed significantly in the sight of those huge plates, but in the end i ate much more than i thought i would. We ordered (and from our most favourite to the least): 1. Manicotti Anton’s (chicken, spinach & cheese rolled in pasta, we opted for a mixed cream/tomato sauce) -- We thought the mixed sauce was the best choice for this dish. 2. Tortellini Alla Panna (turkey stuffed, with alfredo sauce and capicola) -- the nutmeg added magic to it! 3. Vegetarian lasagna -- nothing unique, but a very good lasagna; we all loved the tomato sauce. 4. Fusilli De State (fusilli with shrimps on a cream avocado sauce) -- the only item in the menu with avocado sauce. We felt the shrimps overpowered the taste of the sauce (hardly tasted any avocado), and thought the dish would go much better as vegetarian with, say, hearts of palm or zucchini. We enjoyed very much our time there; the people that served us were all friendly. But i must say if i had to queue for half an hour or more, i would not be very keen on dining there.
Great place. I like this place for the prices and the size of the portion, is worth it
I love Anton's. I'm pretty sure that whenever I want anything pasta the first place I think of is Anton's. Although the pasta isn't fine dining its definetly good! I love that they serve large portions, enough to satisfy whatever pasta crave anyone has. Some of my friends with smaller appetites get an extra two meals from the pasta plates!
Giant portions of good pasta, friendly staff make Anton's the place to do serious eating.
Great portions. Great taste. Great service!! The Caesar salad homemade dressing is amazing.
Seafood Pasta. Pasta with mixedcseafood
La-La-La Lasagna!!!. We stopped in & picked up their lasagna to take home.
Rich & delicious!
Absolutely the best...cheesy, meaty, lots of hearty flavour.
Wonderful.
We love this place! Yes, t.... We love this place!
Yes, the lineups can be long but the food is amazing!
Must visit for out-of-towers. This is the pasta place I take all visitors, something for everyone! Huge portions, great selection, good prices especially considering the portions - go early to avoid the line-up!
Our food was tasty super dubber big portions and service was excellent.
Amazing ! Love this place for pasta and there desert would definitely recommend and be sure to make reservations gets super busy!
Tons of great food!. This is the only Italian restaurant I go to now. Huge portions, delicious food.
Line up can get a bit long, but definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend the Al Porto!
LOL. I don't get it. they purposely give you food for 4 people with every order. no one finishes their food in one sitting - I asked the server. it was tasty, fast and cheap. service was friendly and helpful. they need to open another location or buy the space next door.
Awesome. Food - Extremely large portions so bring someone to share it with. Very good pasta.
Service - Above average
Cleanliness - Clean
Tortellini al panna. I love this place and makes sense why there is always a lineup the al panna is something i crave and have to have whenever visiting van. Portion size is huge service great
Fantastic pasta with huge portion sizes and massive selection. I wouldn't recommend any appetizers or non pasta based dishes but the main attraction is well worth the trip in itself. Don't let the lineups deter you.
The Stephos of Italian Food. Or maybe Stephos is the Anton's of Greek food?? I guess it depends which one came first... Or maybe its just me and Im crazy? who knows ;)
the menu is huge and has amazing options at every corner, its very easy to get distracted and the waitress may come and go a few times before youve selected. me being the carnivore that I am i had the Fettuccine Creola, it was good, the sauce was seasoned perfectly, and noodles were good. The Italian sausage is great, the chicken was good, and the tiny shrimp unfortunately were almost none existent but hey it was all still good. I think next time i will get a clear sauce based dish, they all look so good!
Worth lining up for good pasta. This pasta place is famous for their huge portion of pasta and their line up. I would suggest not to go to this place during weekend unless you are ok with lining up for 1.5 hours!!
They offer so many different type of pasta, but beware that not everything is good on the menu. Their seafood sause, white sause and rose sause is a much better choice than their red. I love that "frutti di mare " and baked "vinzenco". These two is soooo good that you won't find these elsewhere. Their Tiramisu is a must have dessert too. :) BTW the left over pasta tastes even better because the sause thickens more and it's so good.
Verdict:
Food: 9.5/10 (I tried many Italian restaurants across canada, from Speghetti Factory, to locals italian restaurants, to the regular Italian as well as the Halai italian ones in Toronto, etc. Nothing is as good as Anton's)
Service: 8/10 (ok service, at least they still check with you despite they are soooo busy)
Price: 10/10 (can you beat the price when you pay for one meal AND you get the leftover which is more than enough for another one?)
Overall: 27.5/30 (Excellent choice, worth the wait, but would suggest to go on weekdays so not to line up for too long)
Quality and fairness. Honestly there is nothing negative I can say about Antons except for the line. This place does not cheap out on portions and offers a variety of menu choices. The food is always fresh and super hot. I love this place I recommend the stuffed pasta such as the Tondi Don Vinchenzo* and the Manicotti. The Ceaser Salad is also delicious! Depending on who you get for a waiter or waitress the service can be knowledgeable or rough but its worth it. GO HERE if you love pasta !
I arrived at 5:30 to beat the line but was told I couldn't be seated until majority of my party had arrived as well, once it started to get busy though they did seat me without the other people I had met being there yet. Our waitress seemed very rushed and didn't chat much (seemed like she didn't want us there longer then necessary) but the food was enough for 4 meals and tasted decent if you get a dish with more then just sauce. I also thought it was odd they offered 4 types of noodles but not a gluten free option.
Overall I wouldn't eat in the restaurant again i would just get it to go for as a big cheap meal
It's like movies and looks impossible in 2022 in Vancouver!!! City of $$$$ with small portions!
If you are a pasta lover like us! For sure try this restaurant!
The food was huge!😄it passed big !!! And delicious!
Cost only 22$
Quality 🤌🏻
Taste 🤌🏻
Staffs caring and behaviour 🤌🏻
Share your plates and enjoy different ones!
Just note, if you are looking for ambiance, this is not the right place. Except this, everything is memorable there🍻
Great food, big portions even for the small plates. There is another option for 2.75 to get a huge plate which easily serves two people. The best dish we had was penne antonio with extra tomato sauce. Baked rigatoni was great, it’s in the dinner menu. The service is so fast, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Minimum charge per person is 18, I would suggest you get a salad, one meal and a dessert because the portions are huge. It is a little busy, but definitely worth trying and waiting in the line. Definitely recommended.
“Anton’s began with nine tables, a handful of menu items, and one man dedicated to making sure his guests left full. Over 25 years later Anton’s Pasta Bar is renowned for delicious fresh pasta, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and enormous portions of food. Known as Vancouver’s original pasta bar, Anton’s is a neighborhood legend that hosts repeat guests from all over Greater Vancouver, welcomed by warm smiles and as much as they can eat”.
📞 You cannot reserve a table in Anton’s. First come, first serve. And most of the time there is line-up to go in.
❗️ Upon entering, the Parmesan cheese smell is notices and huge portions of pasta on tables.
✅ As an average person, its almost impossible to finish your portion. Its too big and you have to take the rest home.
🤵♀️ While its too busy and overwhelming for waiters & waitresses, they manage everything and make a good communication with you.
✳️ The atmosphere is nice and warm. Its a little small, but too cozy.
🍝Categories of pasta to choose:
* Red Sauce
* Seafood Sauce
* White Sauce
* Clear Sauce
* Stuffed Pasta
* Baked Dishes (allow 30 minutes to cook)
* Specialty dishes
✅ If you love Pesto, ask for Penne Pesto (hard to find in menu)
✅ If you are a red sauce eater, go for Linguine Bolognese
Enjoy!👌
We visited Anton’s pasta bar and were amazed at quality of food. We had the pesto and beef lasagna. This is easily one of, if not the best pasta we’ve ever eaten. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Delicious high quality plates!
The service is good. Pasta is good but certainly not gourmet, the portion is HUGE that you can certainly get another meal or two with the left over. The bread in the sandwich is over toasted that I feel like I’m eating cracker with sandwich fillings.
Decades of serving a huge variety of pastas for everyone's taste, together with soups, salads, and some appetizers. Well known for their large serving portions and reliable pasta, Anton's continues to have lineups out the door with happy customers inside. Service was friendly and attentive.
OMG!! The food was so good. Normally i can polish off any pasta plate, but this time i met my match. The place was great, the server we had was amazing she helped each of us pick out the perfect pasta dish we were all craving. Was glad i brought home my left overs cause i wanted more the next day.
Get there early because by 630pm the line up was half a block long.
Defined going back for more.
Service is really nice. The pasta is good but not great. There's nothing extraordinary but nothing bad. The main selling point to it, is that the portions are very large and you can often get one huge plate for 2-3 people. I had 3 dinner sized pasta plates.
