Our server Simon was one of the best. He took such good care of our group and went above and beyond what I have ever seen from any other server. Made our dining experience and special birthday celebration, that much more special and memorable. Guests were raving about the location and food and many will return for the impeccable service Simon provided! Job well done!
I visited this place a couple of days ago, and my experiences absolute exceeded my expectations. Very cheerful and polite waitresses, quick service, great food, even if there were lots of guests. We got a welcome slice of pizza when we entered. During every course at least once a waitress came to us and asked if anything is okay, how is the food, or refilled our water glass. They had a great sense of humour, too, overall it was a great experience.
So I was quite suprised when I checked its fb page and saw many bad reviews. Probably there were some radical changes recently...
Ian is the best server around and great at suggesting menu items that we all loved!
Loved it. The staff was so great and attentive. The food was amazing.
I can't get over how the staff was over the top friendly. I will be coming back many times.
I came here on Tuesday for their pasta special - $13 for pasta and $5 house wine. Great deal and the truffle spaghetti with meatballs is very filling and rich!
Had to wait 40 minutes for a table but we understood because we had no reservations and it's a Tuesday. Once seated, the food came very fast and service was still great.

Time for round 2 of Dineout Vancouver 2019! A place that we had yet to visit was Trattoria Burnaby and from what I’ve been reading, they had a pretty good line-up of items so we decided to head there for dinner. Remember how I said that Trattoria Burnaby had a good line up of items? Well…as soon as we got settled…our server told us that they ran out of their brushetta appetizer, their prosciutto wrapped cod and their canolis! So in other words…they didn’t have half of their menu options available. Needless to say, it was a disappointment because we came because they had those 3 items.
We had a 4 course meal here, the appetizer was not to be very delighted about, but the main course and desert were exceptionally good. The ambience of the restaurant is more like fine dining and the food is not very high priced. Enjoy!
I’m glad that she made a reso because it is very busy on Trattoria Tuesdays, where all of their pastas are on sale for $13.00. We came early around 5:30, and there was already a line forming. If you’re coming on a Tuesday, making a reservation is a really good idea or you’ll have to wait.
One of the three Trattoria restaurants under the Glowbal Restaurant Group is located in Burnaby on Kingsway street in the same building with Element Vancouver and GoodLife Fitness, across from Crystal Mall. Trattoria Burnaby is know for their in house pasta, pizza, and a more casual family friendly atmosphere compared to sister restaurant Italian Kitchen.
Tuesday, My boyfriend, our friend and I had pasta for dinner at TRATTORIA Burnaby Location. We had an OK experience dining out there to eat something different.
Trattoria is an Italian restaurant. There are three locations in the Great Vancouver area, include Kitsilano, Park Royal, and Burnaby. We’ve been to the Burnaby location since it’s closer to our place. We arrived at the restaurant around 6 pm. It was super busy. I believe it’s because of the Pasta Tuesday. We had to wait for more than 30 mins to get into the restaurant. Trattoria has very great customer service team. The servers brought the small food samples to customers who are waiting outside to have a taste, which was awesome.
After waiting for about 45 mins, we finally got into the restaurant and had a seat. We began to order the food and server brought us cold ice water. The menu is very easy and simple. There are no many selections from this place. Pizza, Pasta, salad, and drinks. Since it’s Pasta day (all the kinds of pasta are around $12 and the regular prices are $24), we all ordered Pasta for dinner. My boyfriend had Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meatball for $12 (regular price $24.95). Our friend and I ordered Crab & Lobster Ravioli (regular price $24.95). Besides that, we also ordered Sicilian Calamari and Bread to share. The regular prices of Cheese Bread and Garlic Bread were $7.50 each. Since it was still in the happy hours, the bread was $4.50. All the food were super expensive in this place.
About 10 ~ 15 mins waiting, our food came out of the kitchen. The first was Sicilian Calamari which made by Sicilian olives, capers, spicy tomato sauce. It was not in the large portion, but it was enough for three people to share as an appetizer. The Calamari was very fresh and soft. The taste was unique. We loved it. Later on, our Crab & Lobster Ravioli and bread were on the table. We were a little disappointed with them. There are only six pieces of Ravioli in the plate. We didn’t see any crab & lobster. We guess the crab & lobster meat are in the ravioli. The taste of the pasta was so-so, not that great. It was really not worth the price. Both Cheese Bread and Garlic Bread were the same. They were all in the super small slices and nothing excited. We could also make those bread at home. $7.50 and $4.50 were super over prices. Not worth. My boyfriend had Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meatball (truffle cream and herbed ricotta) which was good and better than our dishes. We all believed that we paid the customer service and dining experience at this restaurant, not the food.
I was kindly invited by the General Manager of Trattoria to sample some of their new dishes earlier this month. I had the opportunity to try a variety of their classics as well as their new dishes. Trattoria Burnaby is located across from Crystal Mall in Burnaby. They have a medium sized patio for sunny days as well as spacious indoor seating for those rainy Vancouver days.
Came here on "Tratt Tuesday" ($13 pastas). It was very busy but the servers were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend making reservations. They have $4 house wine, and starters for $4 in addition to the discounted pastas. Husband got the crab and lobster ravioli, it was excellently made and flavourful. I got the spaghetti and meatballs - meatballs were excellently spiced, and the pasta was cooked al dente. The sauce was clearly homemade, but it did have too many onions that weren't cooked as much as I'd like, and I got a half clove of garlic in my sauce. $55 for two of us for dinner - excellent price! Would return.
Trattoria is one of many of Glowbal group’s ventures. The original location is in Vancouver but they’ve expanded to a second location in Burnaby for a few years now. AngryRussian and I decided to go for their “Tratt Tuesday” which means any of their pastas for $13!
Went here as a group of 7, only waited like 3 mins for them to set up our table. Service was amazing from the start and continued being amazing. The waiter was very attentive and was on the ball with re filling drinks and looking after us. Starters were pretty good, but my main course (spaghetti and meatballs) was only alright. The spaghetti itself was kind of bland, but the meatballs were actually quite nice. A tiny bit spicy and easy to eat. Overall a pretty good experience and might return, if only for the excellent service.
I was here for brunch, so we didn't have a whole lot to eat. They started us off with a small slice of banana bread to share. We shared the Arugula & Watermelon Salad, which was pretty good. I had the Sicilian Calamari which was one of the better ones that I have had. There was room for dessert, so we ordered the Tiramisu, which I thought was pretty soggy for my liking, but I guess some people would like it. We also shared the Zeppole al Cioccolato which was donut holes with chocolate drizzle and a dusting of powdered sugar. I thought was pretty good as well. Overall, the restaurant was pretty clean and the staff was very friendly, but I thought for the amount that I was getting, it was a little overpriced.
Went here on a Tuesday because apparently all pasta is $12 on Tuesday for lunch. It sounded like a good deal, so we headed over. Smoked salmon radiatori – $12, normally $18.95. I was skeptical of the quality because I see Trattoria as more of a chain restaurant, and I haven’t had any good experiences with their sister restaurant Italian Kitchen. However, this dish was amazing and all the flavours (especially the capers, dill, and smoked salmon) really paired well with each other.
Met up with P and S after class yesterday. Pasta Tuesday at Trattoria was conveniently located close to all of us, and we had the happy hour menu as ell as the $12 pizzas! Score. I had the fusili lunghi + meatballs on the side. We shared the Sicilian pizza, and P had the pasta with the short rib (next to the pizza). S had the one with the seafood and a meatball. Man, we eat a lot.
I’ve spent many years eating pizza for breakfast but it’s usually just leftovers from the night before and not freshly baked pizza.
Well, that changed last August when we headed over to Trattoria Italian Kitchen for brunch.
First off, however, they brought over some complimentary Bread Pudding with Espresso Cream. I’m not a big fan of espresso but these weren’t bad because they were still moist.
The Trattoria Breakfast ($12.95) is a more traditional breakfast/brunch option and comes with 2 eggs any style (scrambled in this case), country style sausage, double smoked bacon, and roasted potatoes.
I opted for the Breakfast Pizza ($11.95) with roasted tomatoes, double smoked bacon, eggs, burrata, roasted scallions, and spinach béchamel. The pizza crust was super thin and got soggy after a while so it was a little difficult to eat without using a knife and fork. On the plus side… yolk porn!
If you’re tired of having day-old pizza for breakfast, head out to Trattoria. Check out our last post on this restaurant here.
There aren’t too many late night spots around Burnaby. So looking for some decent eats with some tasty drinks we made our late night destination the new “Trattoria” in Burnaby. They closed at 12am, but the prospect of freshly baked late night pizza was one I could not pass up for a sports bars that would be open until 1am.
My go-to place whenever I crave pasta (which is not as often, but when I do, Trattoria is always the answer). Out of the 5 times I have visited here, I have experienced nothing but great service and the food is *two thumbs up*.
They have weekly specials like Pasta Tuesdays and Wine Wednesdays. This particular visit was on a Tuesday, and ofcourse, I had to get my favorite item among their pasta options: short rib parpadelle. The combination of mushrooms, tender pieces of short rib, and sundried tomatoes in a light cream sauce always hits the spot for me ... especially with a pop here and there of the crunchy pine nuts. We had ordered an appetizer of the beef carpaccio which was a first for me to ever order at any restaurant. It was a perfect combination of warm paper-thin slices of beef, mustard aioli that's just tangy and sweet enough, and fresh arugula on every bite. While enjoying our appy, we got served burrata and proscuitto on crostinis topped with olive oil and splash of balsamic vinegar (on the house!) .. probably because the friend I went with is a regular there on Tuesdays lol. Lastly, after deciding endlessly what to get for dessert, we had settled for a dessert platter of zeppoles and gelato/sorbet selection. Their zeppoles are a must to order! The gelato and sorbet flavors we got were raspberry, mango and vanilla. No complaints at all since I am an avid fan of mango anything, and the vanilla gelato tasted like frozen liqiud marshmellows - deff was a good pairing for the powdery sugar, chocolate centered mini Italian-style donuts.
Will always visit back! ❤
I came here before. This was not the first time. I had a gathering with some high school friends tonight. We picked this restaurant because of a good location for everyone. We used OpenTable to reserve a table online, so we made sure we could get a table tonight.
Tonight there was a pasta special. All pastas cost $12 only. We ordered six different dishes of pasta and Brussels sprouts for appetizers. All of the food tasted excellent!
The pricing was reasonable and acceptable. Only the customer service was not good. Probably the restaurant was too busy. Our server was busy walking around and taking care of so many tables and customers. Sometimes we needed more water or wanted something. We had to wait for a long time or do it by ourselves.
Overall, we had a good "eating" experience but the environment was too noisy that we could barely hear each other. We had to talk very loudly.
This is a nice little location ... well its definitely not little but its a nice place if you want some pasta or to have a great patio meal! I came for a late night dinner to get some pasta with some friends and was overall fairly impressed. The pasta was cooked perfectly and al dente and the sauce was not too overpowering. I did notice that their drinks lean a bit on the sweet side so it may not be good for you guys who don't have sweet tooths. Out of everything, I feel like the service outshined everything though.
Hmmm..!! Quite surprise they got such a low reviews here!
Let me share my experience now!
We went there on their Tratt Tuesday, which all pasta are $12. The portion is whatever, its discount day i am not expecting a huge portion. We got the signature meatball - so good, among the 3 pastas that we got i think it was the best one(well its signature, it gotta be really good lol) and then my bf got the braised Short Rib and it's really, really good!! The meat just melt in your mouth!! Perfectly cooked! And the last but not least - Linguine Gamberi...which I was quite disappointed coz the sauce is really, really sour. The fact that there were lots of olives in the tomato sauce, i only tasted sour most of the time. Let my friend try it she agreed too. It was probably the most sour pasta i had ever had.
But, maybe it's normal for italian food?? Maybe it's suppose to be sour like this??..
Service was okay, not bad too good.
Food came out really fast, was quite surprised!
Dropped by Trattoria Metrotown tonight for a snack with a friend. We were snooping around the neighbourhood for a not-too-busy place for her to have a drink, and finally settled on the patio here. Yes, it was cold out, but the overhead head lamps did an admirable job. I had eaten earlier, so I opted for just a snack. I had initially wanted the honeycomb dessert I had tried before, but I was told it was actually a sometimes-available item from their Nosh deli next door, and tonight they were all out. Our server Clarisse did offer to look in their fridge "just in case", but I sensed that was more an appeasement than any real hope of the dessert being available.
Late yesterday afternoon I went for an early dinner to Trattoria in Burnaby. I have been there before for a business meeting but I wanted to go with some family to sample more of the menu.
Shortly after being seated, Jennifer, our server arrived and began to help us with the large menu.
She willingly answered our endless questions with a smile and a "sure, we can do that!" attitude.
We started with two antipasti plates to share at our table. Both of them were generous portions. We were more than impressed with the amount of food on each antipasti plate as well as the quality of the food.
After our antipasti plates, we also had two side dishes. The roasted brussels sprouts plate was truly addictive. Some people may find the dish a little too smoky, but I simply loved it. The other side dish we had was the roasted root vegetables. They were also roasted to an exquisite softness and all the sweetness of the carrots and fingerling potatoes was perfectly done.
We also ordered three pasta dishes. All of them were generous and more than filling but not overwhelmingly large.
I had heard from other people that the kitchen had some issues with the timing of dishes. Yesterday I was very impressed with the way the kitchen was able to manage and get our variety of dishes to our table as we wanted them to arrive.
Yes, we did order a lot of food. We did this intentionally though because we want to try so many pieces from their menu.
To finish our meal we had the flourless chocolate torte.
I only had a small taste of this dessert because my table mates dove into it and devoured it before I could get much of a taste of it. What I had did taste was wonderful.
My daughter wanted a gelato. She couldn't decide between two of the fruit flavours and so Jennifer said no problem, and she brought us two small scoops of the mango and the blackberry. Both were extraordinarily good.
I will definitely be returning to Trattoria in Burnaby. I was impressed with Jennifer, the server, the kitchen, and the entire staff who made us feel very welcome and were able to meet all of our dining needs so happily and cheerfully.
I will return and have no hesitation in recommending trattoria in Burnaby.
Sampled a selection of the appetizers and the calamari was definitely the star, so flavorful and juicy!
The truffle spaghetti was quite heavy on the truffle flavor, which I love, although some may find it a bit too strong.
The brussel sprouts were a bit too burnt for my liking but they had a nice flavor.
Overall, the food is pretty good, I would advise to visit on Tuesdays though, when most pastas are only $12, which is much more reasonably priced compared to the original ~$20 price.
After mediocre experiences with the Glowbal Group (even the flagship Glowbal), I wasn't actually keen on going to the "Delicious Italian Extravaganza" put on by YVR Foodies, except that I was invited by Zomato to attend for free (otherwise $25). Also, every restaurant must have at least one decent thing, right? (And I honestly believe that).
We were attending a meeting in the area and thought happy hour would be something to look forward to after. We made the newest location of “Trattoria” in Burnaby our destination. Parking was a spiralling trip underground, without the ability to have its fee validated even if you were dining with them. An elevator ride up and a walk past “Nosh”, its neighbouring cafe in the same foyer, leads you to the entrance.
Visited Trattoria at lunch on a Thursday with a group of coworkers. The place was packed and I saw people waiting in line after 1pm. I shared a pasta platter with another coworker and the only thing that impressed me was the truffle linguine with meatballs. I wish I had ordered that one on its own instead. The gnocchi on the far back was mildly flavoured and very filling. The two in the front was a fail. Both were undercooked and the prawn linguine was too sour for my liking. For dessert I had the tiramisu and it was light and fluffy. My coworkers said the flourless chocolate cake was divine. I will be back for the truffle linguine on Tuesday.
Trattoria is considered as a high end restaurant comparing to White Spot, Boston Pizza and others. I did have higher expectations before I visited Trattoria.
The result is that Trattoria did not disappoint me :)
The restaurant located inside Element Hotel on Kingsway in Burnaby has an underground parking on P3. It is pay parking but it is only $2 per hour. It is cheaper than parking in Vancouver or downtown Vancouver.
The restaurant has a great service. Our server called Jennifer P. took great care of our table. She served us water and coffee to start with. She introduced us the specials of the day. We went there for brunch on the weekend, so we picked a dish of crab, lobster and prawn omelette, linguine carbonara and prosciutto pizza. Everything tasted great.
Pricing was about right. I would not consider expensive as Trattoria is kind of high end with great service. You pay for what you get.
I did not rate this restaurant five scores because of a couple minor things. If they did not miss these minor things, everything would be perfect. When I got to the table and I was going to put down my purse and sit down, there was a big piece of bread and crumbs on the seat. Obviously the server was careless who cleaned the table pushed the food onto the seats that he/she didn't see or know. Another minor thing was that I ordered a prosciutto pizza. The pizza was slices into four big pieces but the pizza was quite big. I had to use a (normal) knife to slice the pizza into eight pieces. I thought the restaurant only sliced the pizza into four pieces on purpose. I could have asked my server to bring the pizza back to the kitchen and slice it for me, but I did not bother doing so. The prosciutto di parma was hard to be cut.
I would love to visit Trattoria for dinner one day. It is good for a group of friends who can sit and chit chat for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Went here with couple girls for a drink. And wow, finally Burnaby has a lounge/pub place! The ambiance is good. They have 2 levels- lower one with a bar and tables for dining, upper level i think is for drinking mostly. They have quite a huge collection of wine. If you come here for dining, you have to try their spaghetti, very tasty!
It was a long shop of shopping at Metrotown. Trattoria opened a new outlet in Metrotown, so my friend and I went to give it a try. Cho always say it's good at the other outlets. So, this time I am trying this place out at Burnaby. We got a proscuitto pizza. It was a pretty big pizza. I don't know how other people can finish alone. I shared it with my friend.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Staff were friendly and food was ok. Ordered some pizzas to share, not the best pizzas but maybe I just didn't order the good ones. Nothing amazing here, perhaps I will have to give it another try during dinner time.
I never thought of going to Trattoria in Burnaby because it seemed like an odd location and I never knew it was part of the glowbal group. I came with coworkers and we all loved their pitchers of sangria! They had almost 10 different varieties. It wasn't boozy enough to get you drunk but tasted good and sweet. I got the Truffled Spaghetti and Meatballs and boy was it delicious. The portion was huge and I was able to eat it again for lunch the next day. Highly recommended!
Went there for a friends birthday dinner and was impressed. Perhaps it's because I don't frequently get to eat Italian food, but I was defiantly not disappointed. Shared a Siciliana pizza, gnocchi and lamb pappardelle. Gnocchi stood out for me. The pizza and lamb pasta not weren't bad, but not as unique as the gnocchi.
For dessert we shared a dessert platter, loved everything except the cake that was placed with the macarons. We found the cake strange. Also got to try the flour less chocolate cake and fell in love! 💕
Over all it is worth a visit.
This is out favorite British Columbia restaurant. It is fairly new but has come along fast. We went twice during our vacation. It has a great vibe and ambiance with terrific servers. Our server, Jennifer was friendly and professional. Our pizza maker, Giuseppe Cortinovis was the best. Watching him put together pizza after pizza was a treat, and no cover charge! The pizza was great. On the other visit I had the chopped salad with many ingredients. It was terrific. My wife had Linguini with olive all and parmesan. She rated it a nine. If you are in the Vancouver area you must go there.
Most of the menu here, as expected, is centered around various pastas and pizzas. My dining compatriot and I started with the Burrata & Prosciutto which is served with a pleasantly toothsome forno toast. The burrata, an Italian soft cheese made with mozzarella and cream, is paired with thinly sliced prosciutto di parma and accompanied with a pesto dipping sauce.
I also tried their Trattoria Lemonade (passion fruit) but found that it lacked any passion fruit flavour.
Decent but only for $11 Pasta Tuesdays. Tried the spaghetti and meatballs. The flavor is pretty good but the texture of the meatball is too finely ground. It almost had a mulchy texture and I personally prefer my meatballs to be a bit chunkier with more texture.
The service is decent but I had the impression that they were understaffed. The staff seemed to be in quite a rush. We sat in the upper level and during that same meal, two different servers spilled something on the floor.
I've now been to all three locations of trattoria and the food quality is consistent throughout. The service in this burnaby location was outstanding. We never had to ask for a water refill or for our plates to be changed in between courses. They were very attentive to all of our needs and the food came so quickly! We ordered the truffled spaghetti and meatballs which was delicious as usual as well as a pizza. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a casual Italian restaurant that won't damage your wallet.
I dined on my own at the bar. Serving staff was still attentive and made great recommendations. Lucked out on half priced wine on Wednesday and enjoyed a Prociutto pizza and the chocolate torte. Everything was beautiful as it was delicious. These guys are punching above their weight!!
I recommend you make dinner reservations especially if it’s close to the weekend. We missed the happy hour which is from 2 – 5 pm or from 9 pm til closing. They have a good selection on the menu. The best value was the 3 type of platter dishes – 1) Antipasto – enough for 2 to 3 people 2) Pasta platter – looked delish but no one wanted to share with me 3) Carne platter. I saw other tables ordering the antipasto platter so we did the same. Our other diner had the braised lamb with risotto. The meat was cooked to perfection (the meat fell off the bone) as promised by our server. Another diner had a popular spaghetti and meatballs in truffle cream. There was something about the meatballs that wasn’t wowing.
Service was great especially asking the server for recommendations. If you can’t choose, ask your server. The challenge is parking. There is no free parking. They’re located on the busy intersection on the northeast corner of Willingdon and Kingsway. Not far from Metrotown Mall.
My friend decided to take me out for my Birthday, as this was my first trip to Vancouver/Burnaby! We came across this local restaurant through Google.
Rebekah, our waitress, and the two men that helped her were amazing and so friendly! We had the spaghetti and meatballs and Gelato for dessert! I have never had such good Italian food or service before! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant that has an entire staff of helpful and charismatic people, with insanely tasty food to boot! P.s. They even got us seated right away, on an insanely busy night! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
I had the ragu which I thought was very well done. Prices are a little high but they have a pasta Tuesday deal which is well worth it. Beautiful dishware. We had great service! Parking can be tricky on the street level but there’s pay parking underground.
We like Tratt Tue, $16 pasta. It used to be half price Tuesday before.
My spaghetti meatballs with tomato basil sauce was excellent. Caesar salad was great too. Dessert was Tiramisu, very good too. We will be back for the Tratt Tuesday.👍
