Review The Everest Grill - Brantford

Muhannad Al
Tried it yesterday and it was pretty good and clean. Had a chance to try the butter chicken, karai paneer, biryani and tikka masala along with butter naan and potato naan. I loved the most the ginger kick in the Tikka masala, the sauce was balanced very well. Biryani came with yogurt sauce, all dishes taste delicious and you can tell that the quality of ingredients is not compromised. The chef there has to get promoted. I really am looking forward to try all other dishes.

We went in to try this restaurant as it is highly rated, service was okay, but ambiance and quality was compromised a lot in terms of taste and hygiene. Felt like family owned restaurant, service was really great and prices were normal but quantity/quality was way to low! We tried their house draught which was served warm so start wasn’t the best. In appetizers we tried chat which was really delicious. Samosa was missing the taste but we can understand what you get for a dollar. Main dishes we tried were chicken karahi, Dal Makhni, Paneer korma and chilly paneer. Honestly all the dishes were missing the essence of Indian cuisine! To start with chicken karahi it was full of onion gravy with 4-5 chucks of boiled chicken not to mention these main course are good for only one person. Paneer Korma was one of the best among everything. Dal makhani was just a dal, basic yellow dal with cream. Chilli Paneer was okay as compare to other food as it was close to indo Chinese. To talk about naan, Garlic naan was the best. Ordered Onion kulcha but still got potatoes stuffed kulcha after mentioning more then twice no potatoes but the taste was again the best. Overall in general we order one starter, one main course and 2/3 bread between us (couple). Over here price we’re almost same as other Indian restaurants but with quantity we needed to order extra main dish and bread that’s the difference to compare. I would recommend this restaurant but if you are concerned about hygiene and taste then ⚠️

We haven’t even left the restaurant or even better, finished eating our meal and everything is so AMAZING I had to write a review. The food here is comparable to fireworks in our mouths. The flavours are so plentiful they are exploding with the most spectacular experiences…..if that even makes sense. The staff are incredibly hospitable and friendly we have already planned to return, know what we are ordering and know this will be a regular place we order from for our date nights in. If you haven’t been here or if you haven’t tried Indian cuisine this is the spot to come!!! I’d give 10 stars if that were an option.

A truly family owned restaurant. The place had a casual friendly vibe where families could eat good food in peace. They had a wide variety of options, both vegetarian and non-veg. The menu also featured lots of alcoholic beverages if so desired. The owner added a personal touch. Food was okay, nothing great but good to have when you drive down a small town and are looking for comfort Indian food. I have to especially mention the dessert for being wrong though. Hot gulab jamuns are different from cold ones and they offered the hot ones on the menu but didn't have the right dessert available; they just heated up regular coconut gulab jamuns in the microwave or something and brought them out. They weren't even properly hot and didn't have enough flavour so i'm guessing, they were old and hard. Other than that it's a good place.

I have been here a few times and each time I am thoroughly satisfied. The food is hot and fresh, and so full of flavour. I have tried only a few of the menu items but my favourite still is the butter chicken and samosas. Thank you for making the dining experience so great!

This is an absolute gem! We’ve ordered here and dined in numerous times over the past 5 years and it is always top quality and delicious. We are so grateful this restaurant is close to home, but we would travel out of town to eat here!

Amazing food! It doesn't look like a lot, but neither my companion nor myself could finish! The spice blends are White person friendly, so don't be afraid to try any dish. The chef is more than competent, and the server will ask what your spice tolerance is (middling spicy with a bit of a bite would be medium, imo). I had the sweet lassi, companion had the mango. Very good - helps manage any unexpected spicy burn. Parking is okay, no WiFi that I'm aware of, but I didn't ask. Overall, I highly recommend the food & drinks.

This is a hidden gem for sure. I cannot wait to go back! I enjoyed the Lamb Rojanjosh with basmati rice and garlic naan. The dessert of Rashmalai was heavenly. My sister and nephew took me there for my birthday and our waiter brought me a sweet dessert with a candle in it. That was a very special touch. The service was excellent, friendly and this was the best meal I have had out in Brantford in a long time!!! Compliments to the chef also...an excellent meal!

The food here is simply amazing. The chicken pakora, the tikka chicken masala, the garlic naan even the samosas we're perfect. Whoever is cooking in the kitchen has a true grasp of East Indian food making. The tamarind sauce is the best I've ever had. And I've had alot. Aloo gobi and aloo plates are bomb. And they even have a vegan menu. How can you go wrong ? You can't. This place is a win. Will visit again when I'm back in Brantford.

Not a grill but a great Indian restuarant, the best we have had in the ten years we have been here, and the great thing is, it's less than four mins from our new chip shop location. Love our new neighbours already ❤️You will be seeing more of us

Hands down worst dine in experience I've had. We had hair in our food and when questioned the server Asim, he responded "it's ok, it happens sometimes." the chefs were not wearing hair net and on multiple occasions we caught one licking his fingers while making food. I strongly urge anyone looking to dine or do takeout from here to look pass it as it is no where near being sanitary

The food was so delicious and fresh. They can make the dish as spicy or non-spicy as you want. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

The absolute BEST Tandoori Chicken I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a LOT of Indian food)! Moist and flavourful to the max. Also the best tamarind sauce you'll ever find. Extremely accommodating staff...was super impressed with that! Friendly, laid-back atmosphere and truly fair prices. Even though it might not be as fancy as some other Indian restaurants I've eaten in, it has quickly become THE place I take my family and friends. I wish you all the best at Everest, and hope you'll be around a long time! When you're impressed with the food AND the staff, you've gotta give it 5 stars! :)

This was my first time at this restaurant, but it won't be my last! We had chicken vindaloo and it was perfectly spiced! The garlic naan bread was so fresh and tasty! I highly recommend this restaurant for great quality Indian cuisine!
Jeffrey Smith
Not the fanciest place but fantastic food, great service. Definitely go here for good food.
Dennis Mortson
Best Indian food I have ever had. The layers and depth of the flavour were outstanding. Glad we ordered enough to warrant the take away containers as we got to enjoy it again today for lunch. Will definitely be back!

found hair in food - nasty. I think the cook in the back was purposely making eye contact with our table and licking his fingers and palms to piss us off lol..

My favourite Indian restaurant and I have tried many many others. I LOVE the Paneer Makhani and Butter Chicken, great garlic naan too. The staff are so friendly! All around a great restaurant with awesome food and good people.
Louise Halyk
Best butter chicken ever, made to your heat level! The staff are all very friendly and make you feel at home! Love this restaurant! If you have never tried Indian food this is the place to check it out! They have a buffet so you could sample the different dishes! Love this place!?
Sherry Waterhouse
I've liked everything I've had from here so far. Lots of vegetarian choices and I plan on trying every one at some point. It's so nice to have a good (or better) option than your typical take out or delivery.
Joshua Wall
Best butter chicken in town. Highly recommend you stop by. Great service, great drinks, and awesome food. Oh and don't forget to get a Mango Lassi. Mmmm so good.

Its so hard to find a restaurant that caters to both the vegan and meat eater but the Everest Grill has done that very well.We had never been there and decided to give it a try.....so glad we did, such good Indian food...all 4 of us were so happy with our meals, naan was fresh, as was all our dishes. We will be going back again often.

FOOD:
My mother and I had come here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 11:45 am for lunch. I had settled on the Meat Samosa ($1.25) as a starter, while my mother and I had both settled on the Butter Chicken ($11.99/Each) for our main dishes. I had chosen to have the butter chicken with naan, while my mother had settled on having it with rice. We had received the meat samosa first, which we found to be very delicious; quite large, with a load of ground beef on the inside, with a crispy shell on the outside. It also came with a sweet dipping sauce which tasted divine when dipped, making the samosa itself taste even more appetizing. Definitely a great way to start-off the meal!

Then, we had received our butter chicken dishes. I thought that the naan was quite delicious however, there were only three pieces, and some of them were a tad too crunchy, and not too warm. In terms of the butter chicken, I enjoyed how creamy it was, making it taste delicious when dipping the naan in, or pouring it on top of the rice. We did find some of the chicken pieces to be a bit dry as they were quite large however, we still found the taste to be very edible, and enjoyed every bite. It was very filling, and I didn't have to eat for many hours afterwards. We were impressed with how much thought went into making the meals taste and look great!

ATMOSPHERE:
When we had looked at this restaurant on the outside, it didn't look very appealing to the eye. However, once we were inside, we were impressed with how well-decorated everything looked, with bright wallpaper, beautiful decor, and comfortable booths/tables for us to dine at. We found that the restaurant was quite large, enough to accomodate a large party. There was also a bar at the front entrance, where guests could sit and eat their lunch while having a drink. The temperature was comfortable, and the ambiance was very relaxing, making us feel comfortable as we dined.

SERVICE:
When we had first arrived, we noticed the sign that asked us to seat ourselves. Once we had sat down at a booth, we were given some time to look at the menus on the table, then our server, a kind younger gentleman, came over to take our orders. He was soft-spoken, and made us feel comfortable by allowing us to take our time in asking questions about the lunch specials. He came around to ask us how the meal was as we were dining, and told us that we could pay for our bill at the front where the bar was located. We noticed that he was the only server on the floor, which made us admire his work hard even more, as there were about eight tables filled with guests at the time.

COST:
1 Meat Samosa: $1.25 + 2 Butter Chicken Meals (1 With Naan, 1 With Rice): $23.98 ($11.99 Each): $25.23 + Tax = $28.51

WOULD YOU RETURN?
Most definitely! The food was good, and we enjoyed the service, along with the great atmosphere, would highly recommend as great Indian food in the area!
Hey Loe

Went here for the first time as my son loves the food there, it was really good.. love Indian food and their garlic Naan is better tasting as well as the dishes we had that another local Indian restaraunt in town here. I will go back again.

Excellent ... Follow up to a previous review -- exceptional take out and menu ordering .. Excellent food -- great lunch deals ... I didn't enjoy the buffet but I'm not certain they still do that
Sharon Willson
I like to order off the menu not the buffet. They did tell me the buffet was geared more to 'Canadians' who didn't like all the spice. Order from the menu and you will be pleasantly surprised. My friend grew up in India and she claims this is more Indian to her than the other Indian restaurants. Love this place. Quiet, clean and lots of seating room.

Janz-view. I have never had Indian food before. I am not one for really spicy food.
My daughter and her boyfriend have dinned at the Everest Grill a few times and love it.
They invited me to come and try it.
The waiter was very friendly and helpful.
We all ordered different dishes. I really like how they come in nice mini pots and you dish them out.
We were able to try each others.
I loved the food we ordered.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone !!!!
Great service and great prices.
They will be seeing me again.

Great Food. We love this place. My husband and I have ordered take out food from this place four times over the past couple of months and it has been consistently delicious. By far this is the best Indian restaurant in Brantford. I have been eating this type a food since I was a small kid and my husband is from India so these guys were facing some relatively tough critics. I would encourage anyone to try it!

Amazing Indian good! Great flavours, good heat if you want it and fantastic food served piping hot! Best Indian food in Brantford (and I have tried all)!

Man, I wish I could give a good review. The waiter is very pleasant, the nan bread is excellent but bottom line, the lunch buffet was bland bland bland. Too many better choices in Brantford for Indian food. Maybe ordering off the menu is the way to go -- but don't come for the buffet .. At least not today. lol. Sorry, I won't be back but looks like it has others that love the place. Also looks like the ordered of a menu -- so if you're here, do that.

Perfect!. Went for dinner on a Friday. I don't know why this place isn't busier (though when we asked the server he said they do well with take out and delivery and are busier at lunch). Atmosphere is pleasant, food is amazing, and service is exceptional. I was happy to see lots of vegan options on the menu. The back of the menu lists everything that is vegan and gluten free, it's a bit confusing to have to flip back and forth to see the descriptions of each item but just ask the server - he knew what was in everything, which dishes could be altered to be made vegan, and was able to make recommendations based on our tastes. He was very friendly and attentive from start to finish. Food came out relatively quickly, everything was very fresh, had the perfect amount of spice. I had veg samosa and pakora to start and channa masala with rice for the main plus a side of naan. All very good! Family had meat samosa, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, garlic naan. They were very happy with their food as well. Portions are generous and prices are very good.
I have only one small criticism, my beer glass had fluff on it from a linty towel, but I wasn't overly bothered by it.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!!. This restaurant is so worth going to for anyone who loves authentic Indian food, and for those who want to try a new cuisine. Our server, Rajan, is top notch. He knows the menu very well and helped us to select our meals based on our likes. His service was as excellent as the food. Our compliments to both Rajan and to the chef. We were all very pleased. My daughter and son-in-law took me there for my birthday dinner. While enjoying a friendly conversation with Rajan I let that slip. The next thing I knew he presented me with a desert of what I think was Rashmalai and mango ice cream. Delicious surprises. I could go on and on about how impressed I was. This was our first time there at The Everest Grill, and my first time in any Indian restaurant and I will most definitely be going back.

Thank you Rajan and Chef for a wonderful experience :)

Awsome. I love Indian food and it is nice to have a restaurant in town that is the same quality of food that you can expect in any upscale restaurant without the upscale price. They have a buffet that is pretty good but to truly get a meal that has all of the flavour, taste and heat order off of the menu.

The nan bread is out of this world.

Five Stars for the Everest Grill. Myself and five friends, ate dinner there for the first time. Absolutely delicious were the comments from all of us.The young man serving us explained the dishes in a friendly manner and was helpful regarding gluten free dishes, which they had.. We had vegetable Manchurian, curried lamb, butter chicken, Tandori clay baked wings and a fish dish, and a couple appetizers. We shared the dishes and had ample to eat, getting a taste of everything. We all are definitely going back, maybe to try their lunch buffet which has just started up this past week. Pleasant, clean atmosphere, highly recommended. We will be spreading the word about this new restaurant.

Janet
