Hey guys! When it feels cold in Calgary, it means it’s also cold in Bragg Creek just outside the city. Known for having trees outside that go great with the theme of Christmas, does Creeker’s Deli serve to be a homey restaurant with all the fixings to give you a feeling of “Ahhhh” or “Aghhh”? Read on to find out. Food: Team Fam came here for lunch and I went halfsies for the following: Reuben Panini Homemade BBQ Burger with bacon The Reuben came with Swiss cheese, German pastrami, and a Russian spread (tastes like mustard). The grill lines here were a checkered pattern and made gripping the sandwich really easy. The panini had a nice crunch on the breading and the melted cheese made it extra gooey. The coleslaw on the side was a nice excuse for vegetables in my diet. Reuben Panini The Homemade BBQ Burger was a pretty loaded burger sandwiched between two slices of sourdough. With lettuce, red onion, and tomato, you’ve got most of the works of a regular burger. I opted to add some bacon into it just for fun, but it’s not necessary . The BBQ burger had a bit of a charred taste to it indicating that it was indeed on some sort of grill and there was again a coleslaw on the side to make one feel like one has enough vegetables in their diet. Overall I think the burger was the better of the two options and the sourdough really helps add a firm grip with the crust on the side. Homemade BBQ Burger with Bacon Features: This is where Creeker’s Deli really shines for me. With a warm cozy interior including a fireplace with clean lines around the mantelpiece, the place feels like a place you would gather and share stories in . The washrooms are pretty good here and condiments can be found at the side counter. Inside Creeker’s Deli Service: At this restaurant you’ll pay first and wait for your order to come to you. The staff are pretty friendly and food started coming out at around 12 minutes for our table which is awesome. Remember to leave a tip since the staff will be bussing

If you’re heading southwest of Calgary for a hike or bike near Bragg Creek, be sure to stop at *Creekers. My new go-to spot in the hamlet, it’s a deli/market/bistro where the food is both delicious and, for now, inexpensive. At breakfast, owner John Czarnojan whips me up an outstanding, steaming omelette stuffed with Valbella ham and portabella mushrooms and accompanied by crispy hash browns and nice toast ($10).
