On Saturday April 6, 2019, about 7pm, I drove into the Dunlop Village Plaza (304 Dunlop St.) looking for a little snack. The pizza place there didn't have slices available, so I looked at the next building and saw the Wok Inn. And walked in.
The decor greeting you as you enter appears somewhere between San Francisco back-alley noodle-shop and early-1950's soup kitchen. Very plain, in need of paint and a freshening up, some chipped paint on the framing and walls, and a chalkboard menu that I've not seen the likes of in decades! Things seemed relatively clean, and the kitchen sounded busy, though I couldn't see much through the window into that area.
I ordered the Chicken-Fried Rice and two egg rolls, knowing that would get me through at least two meals and maybe a breakfast snack tomorrow.
The gentleman who took my order was quick, moderately attentive (though his cellphone appeared to be holding at least half his interest while I was ordering), and got the details down right. He went back to the kitchen and they prepped the order in surprisingly quick time; I don't think I'd waited more than 4 or 5 minutes, during which time I could hear several members of the family working there engaged in some sort of family discussion through the open serving window. They were arguing about something, not vociferously, but firmly, and the details were lost to me as I don't comprehend Chinese. Still... a moment's entertainment is a moment's entertainment.
The gentleman emerged from the back with a brown paper bag containing my order, and radiating the heat of freshly-cooked food.
I went out to my car, and the food smelled so good I eased my seat back, set out the dish and egg rolls, and sampled a bit before driving home.
Pleasant surprise! The still-hot, yet crispy-edged egg roll tasted, for a few moments on my first bite into it, like the crispy-enticing sweetness of a freshly cooked butter tart, and then continued melding back into what a delicious egg roll should taste like. THAT was a happy experience.
The chicken fried rice also had that great scent of freshly prepared Chinese food; the chicken was neither over- nor under-cooked, and the accent of spice and onions was perfectly balanced.
Overall, decor and presentation aside, the food is what we go for in situations like these, and the overall tastiness of their fare will have me ordering again in the near future!
(Post-script: If you're using Google maps, the location they show for this place within the plaza is WAY off, wrong part of the building. They're at the west end, not the middle.)
I was looking for some quick pick-up food and thought I'd try this place as it's right beside where I was returning a rental car. I ordered a couple of veggie spring rolls and the Shrimp with Veg and Almond. Both were great! Big chunks of fresh, never frozen veggies in a tasty broth.

The veggie rolls looked like they were made from scratch in house. My food was ready on time and service was friendly. I'd definitely order from here again.
