One of our very favourite restaurants. Great for lunch or dinner. The food never disappoints and the staff are wonderful. They make my son his favourite dish even though it is not on the lunch menu. In the summer the patio is by far the best in Barrie!!!
Thank-you to Il Bucco and staff for an outstanding Christmas dinner held for our company Christmas party, everything was superb, spectacular food, excellent selection of wine and incredible customer service. The food at Il Bucco is genuine quality Italian food. Thanks once again for making our event perfect.
After one year, this was our second visit to Il Bucco. The experience worths to travel 208 Km (from Toronto and back). Don't be wrongly impressed by the front entrance (it is in fact the back door) at the main street of Barrie. The food is simply delicious, the service is excellent. Try the daily fresh pasta and be sure not to regret it... after the nice pasta and a good Barolo wine, try the homemade cheese cake.
We tend to come here during Barrie-licious but sometimes for a special occasion.
Food: Absolutely delicious! The past time there were 5 of us and we each ordered a different item and tried all the dishes. EACH dish was fantastic! I had the gnocchi, and I can never seem to cook gnocchi quite right at home but here it was simply perfect!
Service: The restaurant is set up quite fancily, in such a way that one might expect a bit more formal style of service, but it's quite casual. Which is perfectly fine. Nonetheless friendly :)
Price: At Barrie-licious the deal is quite great, but the usual prices are closer to the $16-$22 mark, even more for the salmon or lamb. A tad pricey for the area, but definitely a delicious meal so it's not unreasonable.
Summary: I very much enjoy Il Buco. Would absolutely recommend it! :)

GREAT DINNER, ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE. Went for dinner with wife on a Tuesday night. Was first time at this restaurant. The service was great and the restaurant was not very busy on a Tuesday night. We were able to sit where we wanted and choose the popular window seats looking out onto the lake. They have a great looking patio looking onto the lake for warmer weather.
The food was really good and it was a great atmosphere. We both had appetizer, entrée, and desert.
The price is what you would expect for a more upscale restaurant but well worth the extra dollars!
Wow. We went a few weeks back, food was great, atmosphere was incredible (we were outside overlooking the water). And the price was right. 3 apps, 4 mains, 2 bottles of red and a round of shots= $225. Will be going back, hopefully soon!
The service was great, the food was awesome. We had the veal scaloppini and the Red Snapper entres , it was very good. You can sit outside and have a view to the harbour front.
Absolutely amazing. Took part in Barrielicious menu and enjoyed from start to finish. Patio was amazing despite the rain, looking forward to enjoying the inside during the cooler months, so quaint and intimate. Loved the butternut squash soup and manicotti. To complete our night our server Holly was lovely and very informative, she was bang on with all her suggestions.
Favourite Restaurant in Barrie!. This is my favourite restaurant in Barrie. Was introduced by my Mom and it is now my go-to for special occasions! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the roasted garlic appetizer - DELICIOUS! Every pasta I have had is full of flavour with perfect portions. The patio is also great to eat on in the summer with a view of Barrie's waterfront.

Enrico the owner is a pleasure to deal with and from my experience always takes the time to meet with his customers.

This Italian restaurant situated in Downtown Barrie was one I have wanted to review for a while. Recently, after many unanswered phone calls, I finally got through and reserved a table for a Friday night. I was told we had to be finished by a certain hour as the table was booked after us. When I arrived I was greeted and offered a table without asking if I had a reservation. The restaurant had many empty tables. The restaurant decor also looked quite dated. Wine bottles lined almost every knee wall in the restaurant. The waiter that served us was polite, knowledgeable and efficient. I opted for the special that night of Lamb Shank. The service began with some bread and a hummus dip. Definitely out of place for an Italian restaurant. The lamb Shank was a good portion and excellent. The Seafood pasta was good, but not a s good as a rival restaurant in the downtown core. When it came time for desert the waiter said the tiramisu was good as, to paraphrase his words, this was an ITALIAN restaurant. Sadly the tiramisu was awful and I could not finish its. It was served in a GLASS like a ice cream sundae which I imagine was the idea of the same person who thought hummus would go well in and Italian restaurant. The other desserts of a raspberry truffle was as good as anything I could get in a supermarket. Worth a try as is other Italian restaurants in the area. If they are sear sing the lamb shank, go for it. In fact it was one of the best I have had and would recommend they make it a staple on the menu as that would be the only reason I would go back.
Great food, ambiance and view of the water.
Had the Enrico's famous garlic (very rich and creamy) and the house special: creamy risotto in a bisque - also delicious.
My partner had the Veal Contadina. Veggies were a little undercooked, meat cooked well and the sauce was tasty but not unique.
Recommend if you're visiting Barrie.
My go to place for my birthday. I have been driving out of the city to come to this little restaurant every year for the garlic starter. It just taste so good and I have never had anything like this. The food is excellent and the servers are amazing.
I will definitely recommend this location to everyone.
We have eaten at Il Buco several times before and have even ordered delivery but had never done an event there until today. It was a wonderful experience for us as well as all of our guests. The girls were great! The service was quick, they were very helpful and kind and the food of course was delicious. We will definitely be doing events there in the future. Sue was also wonderful to work with! She was very helpful and quick to respond! The whole team was wonderful.
Delicious Italian dinner. My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. I ordered the gnocchi and he ordered the Alfredo. Clean plate club! We also enjoyed some wine. Service was excellent and our table was indoors. Not too loud so it made for a nice dinner vibe. Would recommend and would definitely visit again when I’m in the area looking for a fine Italian dining experience.

Very posh and intimate restaurant. Celebrated my birthday here with friends and we all enjoyed our meal. Enrico's Famous Garlic is a must-try!!
The servers were very friendly and they brought a candle and tiramisu for my birthday.
