THE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD!!! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...
Amazing! Every single time! Love their food! Their decor could use some modern touch ups, but I don't go there to look at interior decor. I love authentic Korean and this place shows their true culture.
The decor and ambiance of the restaurant are what you would expect from a joint like this, but don't be fooled! Delicious Chicken, chicken sandwiches and Fries! a little on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion - a good treat once in a while!
Ordered half normal fried and half spicy fried. Seasoning of the chicken was quite different from any other I’ve had, really nice actually. The coating was nice as well, crispy outside juicy inside.
The price is higher than kfc but as a rare treat, I’d likely choose yum yum over the Colonel.
What a sweet little restaurant! We were greeted by a sweet lady and the chicken was quite delicious!!! I was made aware that there are other Yum Yum chicken locations but I hear this place is the best. This place specializes in fried chicken and it's well worth the wait! Definitely worth the stop on your way to Calgary or beyond.
Love the chicken here! The service was good and it seems like a nice family run place. Had the shallot chicken and I feel the chicken was crispy and not too oily like KFC. The saucy chicken was also very good as it was very flavourful and filling.
This place is amazing. Cant get enough of their chicken. Must go here if you are nearby. Yum yum yummy. The staff is also veey friendly.....

I found yum chicken to actually serve the name of the restaurant properly. I went there with my second boy erigp last week. My boy had successfully passed his driver's test, so I decided to treat him with some poultry. I let him drive my van to the store, he only smash one car in the parking lot on the way there, very good for a man of his age. When I first coming to Canada I run into many car with my van, and I always have to run away fast as I can't afford insurance. This give me many experience to pass on to my son, it's good that he learns how to properly do it when I'm in his presence.
We enter the store and I order one half order of yum style yum chicken and one half order of hot yum style chicken for my boy. The lady at till was very bad at English, but I also bad at English sometime so I allow. I show her a small part of my rage when she not understand my order the first time she ask for it. I speak slowest as possible to allow my accent not to be cumbersome. She still present confusion and with this I decide to pull menu out of holder and point to what I want. This solve all problems and she take my money with a small bow and a large smile. I find bowing to be a foolish tradition as it allows your enemies an opportunity to attack you freely. My son laughs openly at this display.
Our food comes promptly and with great smells and flavours of the Koreas. I usually find Korea food to be vile and offensive, so this is a pleasing event for me. I eat my first piece oh the hot flavour and I was immediately overtake with pleasure within my mouth. I sample the wing piece and I found the tip to be heavily deep fried and crunchy. I ate the piece whole, the bone was fried to perfection. It shattered completely and was easily digested. The larger bones we smuggled out of the store in our jackets in order to boil them the next day for a hearty broth, much to the looks of confusion of the till servant. I can tell she wanted them for herself, how foolish she must be to think we wouldn't be taking our bones. My son stuffed his pockets with the leftovers and we were on our way. The bones made an excellent broth for my wife and remaining kids as well.
Will return in the future.
The staff here are always so sweet. An older lady helped us out and she gave us a container of home made Korean pickled radishes for free! The fries are always fresh, and the chicken is unbelievably crispy! However, I wish it was seasoned a bit more. If you've ever had the spicy fried chicken at Church's Chicken or Popeyes, this is slightly comparable. However, it's not as salty and savoury. Despite that, it's still delicious and a definite step up from KFC!
I've been to Yum Yum Chicken twice. The first time I tried the spicy and the original, both were very yummy. Thee second time I came, I had the shallot chicken which I throughly enjoyed as it was both sweet and savoury with a kick to it. The fries that came with the combo also were super crispy but you could tell they were really deep fried so I suggest eating here once in a while.
