I've been here with friends and family alike over a dozen times. I've enjoyed their onion rings, popcorn shrimp, their burgers, their fries, a few shakes here and there... all tasty, no complaints.
The other day my friend and I stopped in after work. He recommended I try their Whiskey River BBQ burger with a veggie patty. Also had a side of poutine with it.
That burger was honestly totally fine by me. Not a bit of "this is weird" passed through my mind. Tasted fine and I'd even consider having it again some other time if I was feeling like avoiding a bit of fat intake. :0
I tried their blue cheese burger the time before last and you know... that stuff is kinda weirdly good. I'd recommend giving it a shot.
Couldn't recommend their wings though. Bit too steep, like most places I suppose. They're not bad by any means but the price is insane. Stick with the burgers and other stuff.
One tip about this place though is that you should make yourself aware of peak times. It's a large restaurant and it tends to get JAMMED full of parties large and small. I imagine the wait staff gets put through the ringer daily.
It certainly goes to show how popular the place is.
If you do make it in around times like these then your service will slow down a bit, lots of pressure on the wait staff.
All said of the orders we've made there over the years I think the only goofs I've ever encountered were the ones from yesterday where they sent my friend the wrong type of fries and forgot about our popcorn shrimp.. which our waitress rectified right away anyway. Honestly that's a pretty dang good track record in my book.
If I had one issue, and this is largely a personal thing anyway so you can probably ignore it, it'd be that this is the only restaurant I've been to that consistently gives me heart palpitations when I eat there. It's bizarre.
I can have a big greasy burger and fries anywhere else and nothing happens. But for some reason, and I mean every time, I get them at RR.
Don't know what that's about. Haven't told anyone or asked questions about it so who knows.
It's a good place that'll do you right. I plan on returning again when the mood strikes.
My wife and I have been to this location a couple of times and it was pleasant both times with little to nothing going wrong both times. Staff were attentive, prompt, and easy to talk to. Food was tasty and got to the table in a reasonable amount of time. I would go back if in the area.
Red Robin is famous for their hamburgers, and they have a bar as well. The prices are a little high, but at least you can still find decently priced items in the menu. The alcoholic beverages are high priced as is usual for Canada. The service around 8p.m. may be a little slow because at that time is where they are changing shifts.
