Review Original Joe's - Abbotsford

The food was very good but not the service. The place was busy but we had to wait for a long time to place our order. When we asked for a hot water refill it took forever to get it. We were almost done with the meal when the refill arrived.

Can you ever go wrong with cactus club?? We did the Dine out Vancouver menu and it was above and beyond. The prawn roll was incredible and just enough to fill you but leave you wanting and of course the butternut squash ravioli is a classic favorite. I was so full by the end of the meal that I had to take it home for later 🤤

The food selection is a wide swath of options, not sure what category I’d place Cactus Club in when it comes to food. They have sushi, steak, burgers, lettuce tacos.. the list goes on. Lots of seafood options. It was just an eclectic mix. I went with a salad because I’d been eating out so much and needed some greens. They obliged happily to split the salad, so my partner and I could both get in on it. Overall their service was amazingly attentive. A great spot to stop by when you are in Abbotsford.

Food was consistent with your typical cactus club, but the service definitely wasn’t. The hostesses especially seemed lost, and weren’t very helpful when we first arrived. The worst was someone who ignored us after we got our text saying the table was ready, not sure if she was the Manager or a hostess, but she walked straight past us to chat with a friend and help her before assisting us. Didn’t if stop by to tell us she will assist us in a minute, completely ignored us and walked past. If I didn’t have a gift card, I probably would have walked out. Very disrespectful.

Food and Drink tasted great! Service was good just a little slower than what I'm used to.

We celebrated my parents anniversary and the experience was fantastic! Our waitress Tina was unreal, had all of our orders perfect, was super friendly and very punctual. She also had a perfect little dessert brought to the table for my parents. I would highly recommend asking to be seated in her section. Great job and great food!

Had an excellent meal for 9 and the food all arrived at the same time, hot and delicious. Had a really nice dinner and the wait staff were attentive but not too much, friendly but not obnoxiously so. Lots of food choices but limited parking. Afternoon happy hour was pleasantly fair priced and had some really really good options. Dinner for 9 still caused sticker shock but that's to be expected in these inflationary times

I meet my dad for lunch here once a week and our experience is made by our server Madison. She is the reason we keep coming back. She is attentive, kind and makes us feel like she looks forward to welcoming us back. She remembers the details of our orders and checks in on conversations or things we had said the week before. She is a bright light at that location and even if week after week I may not feel like eating the same thing we will continue to be back as it’s such a sweet experience for myself and my dad due to her.

Love the food! I daydream about dill dip! I must admit I was a bit devistated when the menu was cut, changed etc some time ago. However, everything I have tried on the menu since all my "go to food" and favourites have disappeared, has been delicious!! I have a vegetarian daughter, and a vegetarian best friend and the no stress no worry menu you accommodate them with is also THEE BEST! Last night I ur server was delightful, I wish I knew her name as she needs to know she is an amazing server. My only suggestion would be to add a side option to the Bacon jalapeño mac and cheese. The price doesn't reflect the portion size and I needed to order a side so my son wasn't still hungry. Otherwise keep up the greatness that keeps me coming back! ❤

Very disappointed!!! For the past 3 years I have been coming to Abby for original joes for my birthday so this year returned to find that half the menu was cut. My fiancé ordered a 12$ bacon and jap mac that came in a egg skillet with NO SIDES not even a salad or a PIECE of garlic toast ,my mother ordered the dragon boat lettuce wraps (13$) and she received a bowl of mush with a whole head of romain lettuce and for my birthday dinner I got the La hot dog which you formally called the "double dog" well for the same price I got a quarter of a hot dog paid extra for my 2 sides which was sweet potato fries and Caesar salad so in total paid 20$ for a hot dog with extra .... Even tho the waiter kindly took the sad excuse for lettuce wraps of our bill I will not be returning and everyone I raved about original joes too I take back everything I said !!! I also have pictures for anyone that doubts our experience and maybe if you didn't pay your wait stuff to sit In a corner for hours on end you wouldn't have to cut your food quality for paying staff

Found it very annoying that you can't just order sides off their menu without ordering a meal. Our table was drinking and I wanted just mashed potatoes and a side salad but the waitress said they can't do that. Wtf. Also, our group of 8 hung out for about 3 hours socializing 1 person ordered food while everyone had drinks and a few times our waitress was no where to be found. We had to flag down another waitress and she seemed annoyed. The place wasn't even packed.

Great service. Happy hour on Thursday is excellent with 1/2 price bottle of wine night and specials on their glasses of wine and food. Patio is also nice😊

We love this place!! It's our go to almost every Sunday for brunch :) love the food, it's always so good and the service is always amazing. The food also always comes out fast and I always customize my order (no cheese, no sauce etc) and my order is always right! Our kids even love it! We really can't get enough! Only thing my husband wants me to say is please please please bring back the Saigon sub! Lol he loved it :)

Service was lacking a little , when the drinks were brought to the table she had missed one which I found a little strange because she had asked that person for ID,also I had ordered the French pastry bignet or whatever they are called for dessert and they never came either.

Absolute worst servers ever. It was basically dead when I was there last night..our waitress took forever to get us just water, and then took 15 minutes to get one of my friends her drink. Very rude, very slow..and the food sucked. Ordered the Dragon boat lettuce wraps..if I wanted a bowl of just mushrooms I would ask for a bowl of mushrooms. 10/10 do not recommend.

I came to your restaurant for lunch with some girlfriends and although I enjoyed my food I was very disappointed in the fact that you had no high chairs I have a 8 month old who was with me and I had no where for him to sit and eat his food that I brought for him or even for me to be able to have my hands free to enjoy my lunch. As a mom that is a big inconvenience. I have never been to a place that doesn't just have a couple high chairs. If I was coming for lunch with just my hubby or something we would have left and not given you our business but I was with a group of ladies. If you don't allow children to be in your restaurant and are not going to accommodate them you need to state that you don't allow them!

We went there to eat not drink it was early about 4ish and we felt like we should not be there. As soon as we ordered just water the waitresses whole demeanor changed. We do not drink due to medical issues. The meal was expensive and a bit skimpy. It was good but we were uncomfortable the whole time and yet we still tipped the less than attentive waitress her 20% because that is what we do! Probably will not go there again. We have never been made to feel that way in any othe Bar and Grill or Pub!

Went here for date night. Took half an hour to get our food on a Monday, but the waitress apologized and gave us coupons for future visits without us making a fuss or complaining. Service was friendly otherwise. We both had burgers, and they were EXQUISITE. Prices for food was fair; drinks were so pricey we didn't bother. Happy to get free gravy with the fries! Overall, good experience, would happily return.

My favourite place to eat and I love the pub style they provide. Food and service is great.

The best fish Tacos in Abby!!!! So good!!! And Raspberry Burst coctail is my favorite now!!!! Thanks for the good service and yummy food!!!! Will come back there for sure!!!!

Never had a problem until this time.My meal was great but my wife's burger was not done and had onions on berg but she had ask for no onions,al night she keep burping onions back up.ruin r date night.when we mention the mistake nothing was done to satisfy r complent

We just ordered a staff lunch from here to take out, and it was awesome! Everything was packaged really well and organized so it didn't get soggy. We'll definitely be ordering again! Thanks OJ!

Abbotsford original joes is my favourite place in town! They have the friendliest staff around and great food/drinks!

Every time I go to this location, my order is always messed up. Today they brought us luke warm breakfast. When we told them, they took our plates away saying they were sorry. They brought it back 5 minutes later soggy but hot from where they microwaved it. Poor quality and a big waste of time. Go elsewhere with your dollar. Worst OJ's ever.

Delicious and with great service. Prices are a little high, but that's only because the ambiance isn't there. If it was the same food and service and didn't seem like a minutely better Boston Pizza it would be great.

I've been here quite often and never once had a bad experience. Pretty much every Original Joe's I have been to has been great. The food is always tasty and the staff are usually super friendly. My boyfriend loves their chicken rice bowl and I usually get the pulled pork. They have lots of sides to choose from, my personal favorite is their crispy fries and dill dip. :)

My family, friends and I had a really disappointing experience the other night. We were approached by the Steve,  telling us some of the customers were saying our friend was panhandling in front of the restaurant, which was completely untrue. We felt like a spectacle all night. I approached Steve near the end of our stay and told him I think what he did was rude and that he made our friend feel horrible, after discussing the manner for a bit he ended up walking away from me leaving the conversation unfinished. Though he came and apologized and said he will take 15% off our bill it was no rectification for how he made our friend feel the whole evening. I thought in this day and age such ignorance wouldn't come from a place of management, or anyone for that manner. The situation shouldn't have happened. What an awful experience. Never did I think someone would come out and make such a rude assumption. Shame on Steve. <br/>

There was an overwhelming smell of bleach inside the restaurant so we had to sit outside. Thankfully it was a beautiful day. Service friendly and drinks were good but $$$.

Favourite place to eat. Come here all the time, it's my favourite restaurant in town. Service is always awesome, super friendly and helpful! Food is always amazing! Recently, my boyfriend and I went and his meal took 45 minutes for whatever reason. I understand that shit happens at restaurants so we weren't upset but super impressed on how she handled the situation! The server let us know that is was taking longer than it should have which was nice because then we were in the loop of what was happening. To top it off she was super apologetic and took care of his meal!

We were on the outdoor patio on Saturday and had another excellent meal. Great food and great service.

Pretty good. I've been here twice now. The first time I had a burger with some poutine and then six months later I had a chance to go back. I tried this huge damn hot dog and had the poutine again on the side because it was so good last time.<br/><br/>The poutine did not disappoint. The hot dog quickly turned into a sloppy disaster after a couple of bites but it was pretty tasty.<br/><br/>I'd definitely return here again to try out more menu items. I'd like to get off the poutine just one time to try something different but I'm afraid I won't be able to. Haha.<br/>I love poutine, dudes.<br/><br/>As for the prices, I think they're reasonable for the portions you receive. Nothing exceptionally fancy here. The menu is perhaps a bit smaller than some places but they still have a nice selection, if that makes sense.<br/>Plenty of comfortable seating, fast and polite service, food gets right out to you in no time at all.<br/><br/>Try it out. I doubt they'll disappoint you.

Very good!. The food was really good. The ingredients tasted fresh and they didn't skimp, such as bacon on a side Caesar salad and real chunks of cheese, the burger was very cheesy and good! Thought it was great you could pick two sides as well with the burger and sandwich platters. Prices are average for resturant eating. My only complaint is there was smokers on the outside patio, I thought that was banned everywhere, but on a nice summer day the patio was nice, after all the smokers left.

Best in town by far. Not sure what the last blogger is talking about? best food in town and value. Service is exceptional every time i go? Cold fries ? never for me. Its the only place in town that hand presses fries daily, not out of bag in freezer. Fresh food with a down to earth atmosphere.Highly recommended

I've been to this location about 4 times now and This time I of course got ice cold food again.. I have never had hot or remotely warm French fries. Service is so too slow...Chilliwack location is way better! Definelty worth the drive!

Unimpressed: bland, stale wrap, old cole slaw and cold fries.

I have only gone for half price wings on Mondays and Wednesday but most of the time they have been good. My partner on the other hand loves them! The good flavours are salt and pepper, hot, and sweet chilli, the others are not very good. I have also tried some kind of turkey sandwich which was a disappointment since the bun was so hard I could barely bite though it and the turkey was ice cold and dry. I have also tried the jalapeño mac and cheese which was good but my service at the time was so poor and I could not get a glass of water to cool my mouth off with. Furthermore, there was three other couples in the place at the time and three waitresses! Poor service, good food.

We stopped in for dinner.. My wife and I stopped in for dinner last night around 6PM. We've been to Joe's before. It wasn't full when we arrived but it filled up fast. This did not affect our sevice at all. Again awesome service and our Steak Sandwiches were done to perfection.

Absolutely love it! :) I had the thai sub and it was hands down, the best meal I've had. Very impressed :)

All around great time!. My Husband and I were just going out for a quick bite to eat last week. We had been to Original Joes before in Alberta but never the Abbotsford location . My husband tried the grill cheese burger which he loved! And I had the roundhouse burger and also enjoyed it. Food and environment aside, our server was fantastic and was so entertaining we ended up staying for 2 hours and taking a cab home. If you are looking for a night of great food and entertainment go to Original Joes, especially if you can get James T. to serve you (hes also very easy on the eyes).<br/>Sarah

Not disappointing at all. The atmosphere was positive and invigorating. I loved the food the portions and the service. I recommend this place and will be back.

Biggest nachos in town. Best french onion soup in town. Big portions.

Great food and good size servings for the prices. Open late with good daily specials.
