Potentially the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had, just order the classic and don’t faff around about the menu. Socially conscious owner keeps me going back. Don’t expect fancy or frills… you get a great sandwich at an excellent price!

Classic is a delicious breakfast sandwich. I found Oscar the grouch at the till to be entertaining but I can see how some are scared away by his aggressive tone. Make sure to make as many changes to your order as possible to get his wheels turning. Will return next time I’m in Abby!

Ignore the complaints about the owner, he is fantastic. People are so used to bland, robotic, corporate customer service that they are offended by a person being human. Definitely stop by and enjoy the show. Food is solid, buns are great and the coffee is...bad... it's really bad but everything else is good.

This place is awesome!! Everything on the menu is great. I came here the first time because of the hilarious 1-star reviews. The owner definitely doesn't deserve the grief of the bad reviews. He knows what heis serving and it's all great.

Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. When ever I order the classic I make sure to get two. Worth every penny and worth the drive. When ever I’m in town, I always make a stop for the classic.

I went for a quick meal, and tried the Veggie sandwich. Absolutely delicious. Great bread, toasted and fresh vegetables in perfect equation. I will be back to try other options. Really good prices, also.

The classic is the best breakfast sandwich in town and arguably out there! It’s bang for your buck with the homemade buns. The atmosphere is nice and amazing. The owner is the realist man you’ll ever encounter. He may seem a little scary to some, but as along as your respectful he’s just fine! Additionally you also get a FREE Classic during your birthday week so don’t miss out!

I have been a patron for over 6 years, Vern is as real as it gets when it comes to personality and his food. Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Last time I went there he hooked up a full plate of black forest ham for my Aussie. Will always continue to support Oneils as long as I'm in BC!

Abbotsford's best-kept secret...very nice hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Great food and friendly staff...the founder is hilarious, a curmudgeonly retiree who essentially performs stand-up comedy from the cash register.

My wife had heard how great O'neills sandwiches were, so we stopped in on our way through Abbotsford this morning. We both had the Classic, by far the best breakfast sandwich I have probably ever had at a great price. We'll definitely return, only next time I'll try their soup as well.

Recommended by my son and the Classic did not disappoint.

I had the classic sand which with havarti last week and I've been thinking about it all ofthe time ever since! I'm going back to get one tomorrow before work, I cleared my schedule so I could go get one of these sandwiches. They are simply perfectly delicious.

I used to love this place for not just the breakfast sandwiches but the homemade roast beef which used to be tender, delicious and reasonably priced. I can honestly say now I am very disappointed, the sandwich I had today was so tough I couldn't even chew through the roast, I am sure he had trouble slicing it and still served this to a customer? Just a simple sandwich with roast and cheese, no additions, no soup, no salad and it was $10?! There's plenty of other places in town to get a delicious full meal for less and those will be the places I will go from now on.

You gotta eat here!. Finally made it for my second time to O'neill's and was completely satisfied once again. The first time I had the "classic" sandwich which was delicious and couldn't wait to go back. For my second trip, I got to try their daily special of a 4 cheese lasagna and garlic bread. Also got the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Vernon, the owner, who is a great guy and the rest of the staff are awesome too! I can't wait to go back to try everything else and then go back to eat everything over and over again.

Abbotsford's Hidden Gem. Wow. I made a last minute choice to stop in at O'Neill's this morning and I am so glad I did! Fast and friendly service in a sunny cafe style joint and one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. My favourite part was the sweet potato bun.. To die for! Amazing!. Truly the best hidden gem. It's was so amazing, we've now gone two days in a row. The "Classic" lived up to the hype and is addicting. But what's even more awesome, is talking to the owner Vern. Just a true beauty who loves what he does and made the experience even more enjoyable. Vern is an inspiration, his love for his craft, his community and those less fortunate.<br/><br/>This will be a weekend staple for a long time to come.

Diner from vancouver. My brother goes here all the time and kept on raving about it. He finally took me today and I had the Classic. It was as good as my brother said it would be! The sweet potato bun was delicious! The owner was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to all of my friends in Vancouver if they ever were headed out this way.

Great Surprise. We went for lunch today and were surprised to find that he has been in business for 3 years and we didn't know about it. Great food. Limited menus but everything is absolutely fresh. Unbelievable sandwiches. We'll go back for sure. Most people that came in knew to owner - a real good sign.

The reviews for this place - both online and in print - are wholly and completely accurate. The 'classic' is the breakfast sandwich in its perfected form, all wedged between the best bun I have ever had. It is worth the effort to find this place, and enjoy the excellent prices for equally excellent food.

Oneils is best in town. I have lived in Abbotsford my whole life and Oneils is hands down the best food I have ever eaten. All his ingredients are fresh, local and preservative free and boy you can tell. I do not think I will ever go to any other restaurant for lunch in this town ever again. Also great prices and service. I cannot recommend anything else as highly as this diner.

I went to Oneills with a couple of friends. I didn't expect much, as its in a questionable area. Well....I was completely surprised. It was the best sandwiches I've ever had. Fresh bread made everyday, with fresh toppings. The potato bread is absolutely to die for. The owners are very friendly. Just talking about Oneills is making me hungry.

Hi everyone! Happy Chinese New Year!!!! It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I finally have time to blog! Yesterday we had to head down to Abbotsford for work related purposes and we were so happy that the weather was so gorgeous. After finishing up with business in Abbotsford, we decided to choose a local restaurant to try out. When we went through Urbanspoon, the ratings for O'Neills Home Cooking was very good, so we decided to give that place a try! O'Neill's Home Cooking is located in Gosling Way. This place is really close to Duft & Co Bakehouse. At first glance, interior is rather dull and doesn't have much character but when we first stepped in, the host greeted us and knew right away we were first timers (I guess it's because I wasn't sure what to do when I first entered and looked rather confused??)! We were fully introduced to the menu by her and she was extremely friendly and helpful! Her service made me feel very comfortable in this place and definitely gave me a home vibe. Everyday they have different type of specials, yesterdays special was Potato leek & garlic soup & Shepherds pie. At first me & Phil wanted to order two separate sandwiches so we can try different things but the host advised us that the sandwiches are HUGE! At first we weren't sure how big it'll be so we were pretty indecisive. After a few seconds of hesitation, a big man came over (aka. one of the customers) he came over and had to wrap up most of his meal and he was already sharing his with his buddy! After seeing that occurring, we finalized on our decision and just ordered one sandwich plus combo (additional $4.00, which came with soup & drink). We decided to order "The Classic" which consists of Toasted golden sweet potato bun, black forest ham, cooked egg, cheese & mayo ($6.00) The sandwich and soup was split between me and Phil so we both got a half sandwiched with a bowl of soup.
