Review Restaurant 62 - Abbotsford

Firstly, this place needs to be a solid 4.8 minimum. Went for my birthday dinner with a larger group and tried a bunch of dishes. Everything was very good but my favourite was definitely the duck prosciutto risotto. Their sauces and flavours are amazing. Nice smaller intimate setting with what feels like some more private dining rooms/spaces. Ambiance is great and so is the service! Well done.

Very happy to have visited this restaurant. We went on a Friday, it was quiet. We ordered a lot of food because everything on the menu looked so good. We will definitely go back to try what we didn’t order. Don’t worry if you can’t finish your plate, the servers have your back and will bring you take away boxes. We made incredible egg benedictines with the leftover meat we ordered (suggested by our server). They could update their cocktails, a bit simple and one note (aka alcohol forward), but everything else was worth it, even the ice cream that came with the churros!

Went to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate my husbands birthday. We made a reservation and arrived on time. We were brought to a table and decided I wanted to sit in the main front area which we did. We had Emmie as our server, she was just lovely. Loved the atmosphere at this restaurant, we had a nice couple of hours, starting with the braised pork belly appetizer which we shared, a nice starter. The birthday boy had their tenderloin special of the evening and I chose the lamb saddle. How can you say, wow! Our taste buds where at work, so many different taste with each fork full, the beet, kale, asparagus and potato, completed the meals. Compliments to the chef. We pair the dishes with a beautiful Painted Rock Cabernet Franc, a beautiful full body deep red, A British Columbian wine from the Penticton area. As it was my husbands birthday we did splurge and had dessert. I had the special I believe Paris Brest and I the crème brûlée, both were delicious. If you enjoy an evening out and a lovely dinner experience check out Restaurant 62. We will be back!

Had an absolutely wonderful time here! The food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was really attentive to our needs and made sure the night went smoothly!! She was awesome! COVID checks was also smooth and I would definitely come back again to try other seasonal dishes ☺️

I went here for lunch on a weekday with a reservation, but there was plenty of seating for walk ins. The restaurant is in a fairly nondescript place on a main road, making the patio quite a noisy place with all the traffic. I’d suggest sitting inside as it is much more comfortable. Inside, the decor is nice (sort of farm chic) with an open kitchen and three different seating areas. We got the chicken sandwich, cheesesteak and albacore tuna saladand the brownie for dessert. The flavours in each dish were really good. It seems like they have experimented with combinations and textures and while some work better than others, the experimentation comes out ahead. It’s also great knowing that they do their best with farm to table ingredients from the local area. The one area I think seemed a little off was the service/small details. The decor, prices and focus on displaying their wine hints at finer dining, but when we arrived, we seated ourselves, waited about five minutes to get a menu (which was a piece of flimsy paper) and there was no drink menu. Throughout the meal, the server went through the motions, but nothing felt warm or sincere (I noticed it his with other tables too). I also, I indicated on the reservation that it was a birthday lunch, but this was not acknowledged (I’m not looking for freebies, just for the server to give some birthday wishes. Maybe it was because the weekday lunch isn’t as important to the restaurant or maybe it was on off day for the server, but, good restaurants usually don’t have off days. I’d like to give it a second chance for dinner, but being a destination restaurant for anyone outside of Abbotsford, it’s something to think on.

Although the lunch menu has few items to pick, it is surprised that it provides special lunch choices. The food and services are both so great.

For a truly remarkable dining experience in the Fraser Valley, Restaurant 62 is the place to go. Founded in 2004, Restaurant 62 in Abbotsford is known as a top restaurant for farm-to-table cuisine. Executive Chef Jeff Massey and Chef de Cuisine, Matthew Nichols co-own Restaurant 62 and their focus is to use fresh, local ingredients in their masterfully created dishes. The restaurant also has an impressive wine selection which has earned them a Wine Spectator’s Award for Excellence every year for the last ten years.

We came here for the 3 course New Years Eve dinner and the food was absolutely to die for. The beef tenderloin was amazing. Our server was also wonderful. I can't recommend this place enough.

Great!. Wife and I got a $50 gift certificate as an anniversary gift and ended up dropping over $200 (good Pinot!). Worth every penny. The best service we have ever received - attentive and quick but not overbearing - and the attention and detail paid to each dish was admirable and the results obvious. Everything was about as perfect as a dining experience could be with one exception: the steak was three different degrees of done-ness. They remedied the problem immediately with a new steak, but that was weird.

Very dissatisfied!. I visited Restaurant 62 for the first (and last) time with my Husband on Weds, August 13th. It was my birthday. I had been reading reviews and wanting to try their "farm to table" menu on this special occasion and we were both really excited. I can't tell you enough how disappointed we were, right from the get go, things went wrong. When my husband called to reserve a table for 6pm, we were told "fully booked", so we booked for 5:00pm. The restaurant was empty but for one person. Our first server, behind the bar poured me a glass of Prosecco from a previously opened bottle, there was no fizz, so it was sent back and I had a glass of beer instead. We ordered the Appetizer Sample Platter for 2 ($20). Really, 3 prawns for 2 people? 3 Crostini for 2 people? That doesn't make any sense at all and is insulting when a person is paying premium! As if that wasn't disappointing enough, my prawns were not cleaned properly (big veins I pulled out) were rubbery (overcooked) and the 3 tiny, little crostini, one of them was just the crust! The entire middle was missing, so although the terrine was quite tasty, we only had 2 minuscule crostini to eat with it! When the server came to collect our appetizer plate, I informed him of the unclean prawns. He just took our plates away without saying anything! It was apparent to us at that point that staff (understaffed) were only focused on the customers coming in to the banquet room there, about 10 people perhaps, that constituted the "fully booked" comment, I guess, for there was only ONE other table of 2 people in the whole restaurant! OK, so main course. I ordered the special, Elk. It was TOUGH and difficult to chew and the Rissotto that came with it, was like bland rice pudding, no seasoning, just chunks of apple in it. Inedible! My husband had the Beef Duo, which he said was good but he left his potato, a kind of bland mash, also inedible. We spent over $120 in this restaurant and won't go again or recommend. I guess we got the "stand-in chef", not the one advertised. I'm a very busy woman who works hard for her money and who cooks on a regular basis for a large family, so this was going to be my special birthday treat. When I came across their Facebook page and saw all these wonderful reviews, it made me mad as hell! They may occasionally serve great food but they're obviously NOT consistent!!!

Thoughtful & intelligent..... Beautiful presentation featuring seasonal local food. I couldn't get enough of the chickpea spread. I had a tenderloin entree, stuffed with mushroom. It was really tasty, well presented with a bouillon. The tenderloin was a thin strip, cooked fully and stuffed with mushrooms. It was a little on the salty side, but made up for it with its originality. My entree was a halibut, daily special with seasonal veggies and a little layered gratin on the side. I really appreciated the gratin, it was like having a present on my plate. The fish and veggies were cooked to perfection with all of the natural flavour of the food remaining the star ingredient. One of the best restaraunts I have tried in the greater vancouver area. Service was good, the waiter was un blame fully unsure of us since we showed up in t-shirts and flip flops. Still he was really nice, and helpful with the wine selection which paired beautifully with my husband's steak & just ok with my fish.

For a special occasion. Or once in a while due to the price, however its abbotsfords only fine dining restaurant. When I first went years ago I was unimpressed and did not like the food the worst was the lobster bisque, on return the food was great but it was busy service was meh ok, the last visit during a weekday was amazing. The ingrediants are local mostly and mostly organic and sustainable. The waiter was very knowlegable about the food and extensive wine list. A must try. I do think their vdays menu was exboratant so I did not go.

Catering!. I've always enjoyed dining at R62 the atmosphere, service and food is consistently exceptional. Recently though I had them cater a small cocktail party in my home, which was superb. I wasn't stressed and my guests enjoyed fabulous food. One of the best things I've done and will certainly do again.

I have eaten here twice and both times the food was exceptional and the service impeccable. I love the tasty food combinations and the cocktails. Looking forward to eating here again. Romantic atmosphere.

Don't usually do any type of upscale or fancier type places or food, for the fact of small portions and a big bill. I went 62 planning to be hungry at the end. I eat a lot by the way lol. I was impressed by the service to start, the appitizzers were amazing. And the entree filled me right up with a nice drink selection. The food was prepped nice and the flavor was excellent. My wife was impressed as well I was for a change. I would recommend for anybody looking for a change and not being dissipointed.

R62. We were here a couple of weeks ago for a surprise "milestone" birthday party. There were around 35 of us and we took over the back of the restaurant.
A 3 course set menu and drink specials were presented to us. Entree selections included roast pork, crab risotto, and chicken breast.
The food was very nicely prepared and presented. The chicken was moist and tender as was the roast pork. The service was very crisp and professional. My wife enjoyed herself and wouldn't mind returning to sample the regular menu. That's good enough for me.

Entire experience amazing. I've eaten at 62 periodically over the past 5 years and gotta say that this restaurant is, unequivocally, the highest quality dining experience you can find in the Valley.

This restaurant won't be for everyone because there is definite attention put on quality over quantity - which is sadly lacking in the dietary spectrum of many Fraser Valley diners. Ingredients are mostly local, chef is a gastro-genius, and staff are quick, attentive, and friendly.

Booze is a little pricey, but I'd pay the same at Earl's or Milestone's for a franchised feel. So no big whoop there.

Datenight, special occasion, business lunch, or the like - this place is perfect. Fast food, trough-style, or just consuming something in order to make a turd - not for you.

Eaten here multiple times and have never, ever been disappointed. Slightly more expensive than Earl's - depending on what you order - but WAY better quality.

Our first time here and nice environment, the special main entree of chicken, pasta, mushrooms in white sauce with peas....nummy for my tummy! Good food and good service! We will be back to try the brunch.

Excellent Food, but be prepared for an expensive evening!. I've eaten here 3 times, and the food quality has always been amazing. That being said, just be prepared to pay $100-$150 per couple by the time all is said and done. This is a place I reserve for special occasions only. Otherwise, go to Milestones or The Keg, to get more bang for your buck!

Wanted to like it.... My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. Made reservations and everything. We'd been saying we wanted to try eating here since it opened. It looked pretty good. It sounded pretty good. We were excited.

Usually we have 1 drink per course. However, once our original order was taken, nobody ever came back to ask if we wanted anything else, or needed new drinks, even though we finished our first set before anything arrived. Just dropped our food and ran off and hid somewhere, or sat down at the bar and started talking to somebody so you felt bad interrupting them. (And why should you have to interrupt someone just to get another drink?)

Honestly, they missed out on some good money from us, and we were pretty disappointed. I don't even remember the food, just the disappointment and the fact that we had nothing to drink with our meals at all. We'd even walked to the restaurant so we didn't have to drink and drive. Hah. Sad face.

Great food and wonderful lounge. I like the food and the way how the Chef presents. Nice dining experience to celebrate my anniversary.

For dinner, we stopped at Restaurant 62, where Chef Jeff Massey dazzled us with a 6-course wine pairing dinner featuring hyperlocally sourced ingredients.

...this week I was looking for a farm-to-table kind of restaurant and what caught my eye was Restaurant 62 located in Abbotsford. The restaurant is co-owned by Chef Jeff Massey, who use to work at Cioppino, Glowbal and Coast. With Restaurant 62, Chef Massey's goal was to create a menu where the food is locally sourced. He uses seasonal ingredients and supports the local farms in the Fraser Valley area. Another reason why I chose Restaurant 62 was because they were part of the Abbotsford Circle Farm Tour and after reading www.pangcouver.com review I just had to go try it! The drive out to Abbotsford wasn't too bad, good thing we left Vancouver before rush hour started. We were all very hungry and excited to eat! When we arrived we immediately wanted to sit at the patio because it was so wa
