Best Portuguese chicken I've ever had. Food is amazing. The vegetables are awesome, as are the rice and potatoes. The hot sauce is delicious. Highly recommend trying it out.

Amazing food! Just tried this place through uber eats and I loved everything i ordered. It's so hard to find good quality food but definitely adding this place to my favorites!

Very dissapointing portion. A message to the management: If you are comfortable serving half a piece of breast and 1 wing as a "quarter white" please change the name as it is very misleading....quarter white usually consist of an entire piece of breast and wing. Whilst quarter dark is a leg and thigh, cutting piece of the breast off to add to the quarter dark (because the meat is usually less) just takes away from those buying a quarter white meal. Was very dissapointed to drive over an hour to receive what seemed like a kids portion of food. These meal portions are getting smaller. Also, I realized there was no sauce at all on my meal, although I asked for medium sauce on top of everything, having to buy a separate container of sauce for the chicken for $1.50 is just outright nonsense. According to my children, might as well just go buy a rotisserie chicken for much less. Not impressed! AVOS will be getting our business moving forward!

This was the first time my family and I have tried Xpress BBQ and we were very pleased. Our order arrived on time, and the food was fresh and delicious. Everything from the chicken to the potatoes to the salad was prepared to perfection. Our dinner was tasty and the portions were bigger than I had expected. Xpress BBQ even prepared a special dish for a family member with food restrictions. We truly enjoyed our dinner from Xpress BBQ and would definitely order from there again! :)

The food is not bad, but it just doesn't compete with other BBQ Portuguese Chicken restaurants. From the sauce to the rice to the chicken, this is NOT what you have come to expect from a Portuguese Chicken Restaurant . This is for those who don't know what they are missing. Again I will stress, the food is not bad, but it's not as advertised. It also seems the chicken may be rotisserie and not BBQ.

honestly... really good. Im impressed. I just ordered a full bbq chicken, came sliced up in 8 pieces, all grilled to perfection. Crispy outside, juicy inside, they dont go crazy with sauce which is perfect how i like it. this place is a hidden gem, great for those lazy days where you dont feel like cooking dinner! thank you Xpress BBQ!!

Best Portuguese chicken place in the city. Always fresh, best hot sauce. Pricing is inline with all other Portuguese restaurants. The chicken breast is incredible. Flavourful, moist and not dry at all. Ive never been disappointed,It’s my go to place!!!

Food 2/5 (50% of final grade)

Disclaimer: The only other "Portuguese Chicken" I've eaten was in Macau, so my review might be VERY biased, and largely based on my experience with BBQ chicken in general.

Simply put, the chicken was bland. I was surprised that with so much sauce smeared over it came out to be so... bland. After the initial hit of the salt I simply couldn't taste anything else. No spice, no oils, semi-dry texture of chicken. Not to my tastes.

Ambiance 2/5 (15% of final grade)

The interior was small, so this was obviously a takeout place. The moment you step into the establishment, you come face to face with the cashier. This felt very cramped and much too in-your-face for me, but that's only attributable to the placement of the register, so there. Other than this, there were three tables outside for seating, the place itself looked clean.

Service 2.5/5 (15% of final grade)

Nothing particularly bad or good about the service, it was just normal people serving normal food normally.

Cost 3/5 (10% of final grade)

For the amount of work that seemed to have been put into the chicken, and the fact that they seemed much authentic, the cost was perfectly reasonable, if not on the cheaper side. I would recommend this place for a late night chicken to go with some light drinks at the peak of a summer night.

Other 3/5 (10% of final grade)

Brownie points for the cool cooking method they used. They had a huge oven/roaster where they put a flattened raw chicken in to roast (slid into the oven on its side on a pan) before taking it out and smearing it with what was supposed to be juicy Portuguese sauce.

Final Grade = 45.5/100 = 2.5 Stars (after rounding UP)

TLDR: Not a particularly notable place.

This place is okay. The chicken is sometimes over cooked or has no flavour. The sauce they put on the chicken doesn't absorb. If you ask for hot sauce they give you a look. The potatoes are amazing.

We order take out from this place regularly. The food is pretty good but the service is inconsistent. On a few occasions we had to wait up to 45 min in addition to the ETA we were provided at the time of the order. The fried fish is extremely salty.

LOVE IT. My boyfriend & I always go out to try other Portuguese chicken places but there is no other place that can beat THIS Xpress BBQ.
Their chicken is always fresh & done perfectly! The potatoes & sauce are to die for!

Not happy. Not pleased with the xpress bbq. Bought 2 quarter chicken meals with rice and salad. When I got home, I realized that I did not receive my salads. I also noticed that the pieces of chicken were bad quality ie. lots of skin and bones, not much meat.

I will not be eating there again.

Excellent Impromptu Lunch. We ended up at the Xpress BBQ by chance today after driving by many times in the past without more than a bit of wonder. We stopped in for some late lunch take out and received more than expected from a Portuguese bbq place. First off while waiting for the food to be dished I remarked to my pal about the fish they had, that I had them before and the heads where the best part. The guy behind the counter overheard and offered use both a taste, a fish each. They were as tasty as I remembered from my old haunt in Mississauga. We each got the 1/2 chicken combo, mine with potatoes and vegetables. The sauce was awesome. The chicken tender and juicy. The potatoes were not overdone like most usually come but rather they were moist and tasty. The vegetables were a wonderfully steamed bunch of broccoli, cauliflower, onion, pepper and cabbages. The amount of food for just $11 was plentiful. I was almost put into a nap trying to finish all the deliciousness. I usually go the this type place for the chicken, piri piri and potatoes and they were delicious and will be back for more but will also be trying the other stuff I don't know much about...the fava beans and the assorted fish along with the other meat in sauce whatever it was. The guy/service was very friendly. I have found my new fav bbq chicken spot!!
