Walking in to Akita you immediately see up to date furniture that is rather new by the looks of it and isn't too loud at all. A waitress is ready to seat you once entered and drinks arrive soon after.

I have been to Akita numerous times with family and friends, because of the All-You-Can-Eat option or a la carte, I personally find this spot a good choice as it has a variety of sushi and kitchen foods that can accommodate non sushi lovers as well.

I personally have found the waitresses to be rather efficient and yes at times certain selections can take some time but I don't find that to be a problem when ordering throughout the varieties each round.

Another aspect to Akita that I enjoy is not having to pay for the few extra sushi pieces that don't get finished.

First time dining here and we got our sushi craving satisfied. Actually happened on this restaurant by chance as we originally intended to try out Hai Sushi but couldn't find it (closed?!). We opted for a la carte instead of AYCE. We ordered the salmon and beef bento boxes (summer). For $10.99/bento box, it comes with the standard salad and miso soup. Service was very fast but we came during dinner off hours so that may not be saying much. We were quite happy with our food but we are definitely not sushi connoisseurs. My salmon was a tad dry but that tends to be a common observance with sushi restaurants. I liked how I was able to substitute my salmon rolls for California rolls in my bento box, nice courteous touch. Overall, we're happy to have discovered a new Japanese restaurant in our neighbourhood. Next time, we'll return to sample the AYCE menu.

I took my sushi-loving friend to Akita for her first time yesterday to the Woodbridge location and it was deelish! The rice was fresh, the quality of the rolls was excellent and the service was great! Akita used to be my old stomping ground until I moved away, and we frequent an AYCE sushi place closer to home but I forgot how delectable Akita's food is. You have to try the spicy crispy crab roll... Who! If you're ok with a "sleeper" spice you won't be disappointed. 5 out of 5 spoons :-)

Not bad but ginza is way better. I've never been to Akita for all you can eat (I usually go to Ginza) but I have gotten crispy spicy salmon takeout from akita. The sushi was made to order quickly and it was really fresh. I really enjoyed it because I was having a crazy sushi craving but the problem with their crispy spicy salmon was - although tasty, it was almost all crisy (ie. tempura) and hardly any salmon! It was good but not good enough because the salmon pieces were small. I also wouldve preferred a spicy mayo but they seem to use a different kind of hot sauce. The other problem is that it seems to be low quality - Hard to digest (and i know this because hours later i was still burping with the sushi taste in my mouth and this has happened on more than one occasion with their sushi only.)

Anyways, it did well to satisfy the craving for me but not nearly as good as Ginza

Pretty good AYCE. Came here for lunch with a few friends the other day and found the lunch to be relatively good. We ordered a variety of dishes (sushi pizza, rolls, udon, rice etc.) and most came out pretty good. I thought that they went a little overboard on the amount of mayo in some of their dishes but overall everything tasted excellent. To make things even better they have unlimited canned pop and their sushi chefs manage to pump out rolls really fast!

I'd come back!

Very Good!. Often AYCE are low-grade fish and made in a hurry but this was well prepared with fresh fish. Had a few of the spicy rolls which were delicious. The eggplant terriyaki was odd but alright if you love eggplant. The tempura was delicious!! Served crispy and hot :) Delicious. They were very accommodating and made a roll to my specifications that wasn't on the menu.... The only qualm I have is that the servers were a little pushy but the excellent food more than makes up for it!
Edit - returned again a few nights ago - same delicious food, but the service was TERRIBLE! One of the servers was incredibly rude, literally threw dishes onto the table, glared at us, refused to make ANY accommodations (even though the other servers did and had no issue with the minor changes). It was extremely disrespectful considering we are the ones paying.

Sushi all around. This was an "accidental" trial. Our usual sushi place was closed, and so we decided to try this out. Turned out to be a pretty popular future choice with us. I do find that it's a tad bit expensive, compared to other sushi restaurants, but I reckon that's because of the atmosphere. Beautiful dining hall. Long waits to get a table. Huge rush all the time. Relatively expensive. Slow service. Good food. Clean environment.

Pretty great sushi.. Overall this is a really good sushi restaurant. My wife and I tried this place recently. We love sushi and wanted to try a new place.

It is an AYCE buffet type sushi place. You just keep telling the server what you want and they bring it as opposed to other places where you fill out a sheet with your order.

The food I ordered was fresh and delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly and was still warm when it came to the table. My wife didn't enjoy her food quite as much. The tempura eggplant she order was not as good as the grilled eggplant she'd had at other sushi places. Also the edamame here was not as good as some other places.

The price was about the same as some other places, perhaps a few dollars more per person.

I will most likely go back again.

Overall good, just watch out for double-tipping. All you can eat good food and good variety at a good price especially for me since I can eat a lot.

But because I can eat a lot, I find they tend to "forget" to bring me what I ordered. I'm guessing they're hoping I would be full and they would not need to bring me the rest of my order. I find myself having to remind them after waiting 10-15 minutes for the remaining dishes to arrive,

When you get your bill, the tip is automatically added to the bill. My friends that don't eat as much as me discovered they were double tipping the whole time without realizing so check your bill before paying.

Overall, it's a good place to go for all you can eat. Even with double tipping, I think it's worth it compared to eating the same amount of food at a different sushi place which might cost me 3 times more than Akita's bill. If Akita Sushi increased the price, I would still think it's worth it but that's just me cause I can pack in a lot and I'm just a 5'11" 170lb guy.

High Quality Food and Service. The first time my boyfriend and I tried this restaurant, it was completely on a whim because we were passing by, in the mood for sushi and happened to see the sign.

From the outside, it doesn't seem like you're in for a huge shocker; just a plain building on the outside really, kind of cries out 'bland, generic food THIS way!" - so we were somewhat iffy at first.

We were wrong. As soon as we sat down at the table and ordered the first few dishes (some sushi rolls and meat dishes) we were totally blown away! We'd had sushi many a time before at various smaller places but, never THIS good. Honestly the quality and care put into the food was evident with the first bite. Everything was so fresh-tasting and delicious.

I should also mention that this was our first time experiencing an All You Can Eat sushi/japanese restaurant and we were pretty thrilled about it. The table has these notepads filled with disposable order sheets, on which you 'check off' whatever you want, and the waiter brings it to you - and keeps on bringing more and more dishes, as quickly as you hand him the order sheets.
As much as you like (for about two hours, I think was the limit...)

Another thing we really liked was the VARIETY of food. At other japanese restaurants, the most variety you get is all the different kinds of sushi, one or two flavors of soup and perhaps a meat dish or two.

This place had tons of other options such as fried noodles/fried rice options, sizzling plates, meat cutlets, actual RAMEN soups (as opposed to the plain old miso that you normally get, or steamed egg soup)...

Dessert was nice too; green tea ice cream or red bean ice cream. Mmm...

The inside of the restaurant is very lovely; has a nice ambient dim to the lighting, and seating is comfortable - maybe just a BIT too close together, but still OK! - and the servers were all very friendly-faced and speedy.

What more could you ask for?

I would recommend this place to anyone, if only because of the nice high-quality 'feel' that you get while eating AND being waited on.

This place is fairly close to where I live in Etobicoke, so at the very least it's convenient. It also happens to be pretty decent, so that's a plus. What I've captured is some chicken teriyaki, various rolls (including spicy salmon,

Akita Sushi has an expansive menu with a lot of great tasting items. We had the Spicy Crab Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Philadelphia Roll, and all were delicious. The cheese wontons were also great. We dined in and the service was incredibly fast. Will definitely be going again.

Akita has been my forever favourite for all you can eat sushi in the Vaughan region. It has great selection of sushi rolls, appetizers , tempura and deep fry. However Dessert mainly has fried banana and different flavours of ice cream. My recommendation would be add to it. Also the portions are slightly smaller than other all you can eat. Must have: Cheese wontons or Butterfly Wontons!

The food is always good whether you dine in or take out. The service is quick and reliable. You order through an iPad and the servers bring your food when it is done. Seating when I went was quick.
