Review Kookoos Kitchen - Woodbridge

Been meaning to check out Kookoo’s Kitchen for quite some time now and finally got to since my husband and I was in the area. The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful in explaining to us what’s on the menu and gave us his recommendation, which we ordered and shared. We got the Carbone wrap (which is on their secret menu so ask them about it) with onion rings and the halibut fish and chips. The Carbone wrap was hands down soooooo good, we devoured it. It’s an angus burger in a wrap with real cheese and toppings. Something I’ve never had before but will 100% come back for! Also the onion rings were freshly cut and made. The halibut fish was a big piece and was super fresh, meaty and tasty! What we really liked about this place is the quality of their ingredients! We will be back!

Amazing, Amazing, and Amazing. My fiance and I drove through a snowstorm for half an hour to get to this place and we were greeted by the owner, he is extremely genuine and is a burger scientist. He helped us with the menu and explained all the options to us. We ended up getting the 6oz "AAA" Manhattan burger meal. I can now say that this is my favourite spot to get burgers. My fiance loved how the meat was GMO free, grass fed, and no preservatives - she had no heartburn whatsoever. It proves how clean and healthy these burgers really are since she is extremely susceptible to heartburn. It is also rare to come across an amazing burger with good fries on the side. The flavours of the burgers itself was full of flavour and juices that combined very well. The homemade chipotle sauce was also a special bonus, it tastes really creamy and delicious. The pricing is also fair, since the product you are consuming is of high quality. A+++ on customer service, cleanliness, and amazing food.

I have had this place saved to my list for over a year+ finally today I was in the area and got to try it out for myself. I was super excited!!!!! About the food: looks amazing right!! BUT falls short in flavor ☹ literally it was just okay! I was expecting more. Its filling but certainly not satisfying...needed that flavor...Was that one warp worth my $16.49???? Let's just say I've spent way less on a single wrap that's bigger and more flavorful! Fries weren't included he literally added those bites so I could taste them it was ok. About the atmosphere: Friendly staff, I felt welcomed and served well! Allowed me to take my time to explore the menu. Music volume perfect pitch. About the space: The inside was not the cleanest but certainly not the dirtiest, I've seen worse! Overall: it was just okay... literally just ok!

Great restaurant atmosphere with nice music. Food was not great though. Our burger was not evenly salted and the poutine was way too salty; however, the owner was friendly, came by to ask how things were, and when we told him our food was salty, he surprisingly gave us a small discount.

At first you don’t know what to expect from this place when you walk in but the food is really good! I got the angus beef burger in a wrap and it was delicious. Even the fries that cane to the side were cooked perfectly and just the right amount of seasoning.

This place is a must-visit even if you aren’t near by; it is worth the drive to Vaughan! Rob the owner and chef is super friendly and so awesome to talk to and hang out with as he is preparing your food!!! But the food speaks for itself: the Carbone Wrap is probably one of the best wraps out there: Premium Angus Beef 🥩 + Cheddar Cheese 🧀 + Organic Spinach 🌿🌱 + Sautéed Onions 🧅 + the BEST Homemade Chipotle Sauce wrapped up and grilled to perfection!! The Onion Rings are unlike anything else — I don’t like them usually, but Rob takes them to another level. And the Breakfast Sandwich off the secret menu is the best combo of sweet and savoury!! Everything here is of the highest quality and that’s why my friends and I will keep going back for more!!!

When you want a REAL burger, fresh never frozen, single, double or a 20oz 4 patty big boy, hell even a grillcheese bunned double bacon cheeseburger, you'll never be disappointed at kookoo's kitchen. Even the fish&chips and smoked meat are amazing and like everything else, 100% scratch made. As a outside sales rep I eat out 5 days a week (possibly too much) this gives me a chance to find "foodie" type joints, this place is worth the trip from wherever you are in the GTA. Very helpful staff that only aim to keep people smiling, they will continue to get my weekly business. ***warning*** This place has ruined me from ordering inferior burgers elsewhere, they have a huge social media following and offer big discounts and specials to Instagram followers, follow them at @kookooskitchen1 do it. DO IT NOW

I was introduced to this shop by someone from my work, from a conversation about foods such as burgers and fish and chips, and so KooKoo was mentioned. I live in the Kleinburg area so It’s not too far from me, on the way home from work on Friday at about 6:00pm, I went in and it wasn’t busy at the time. The staff and owner greeted me, they were friendly, the owner gave me the rundown on the menu, mentioned the burgers but I was there for some fish and chips. I had an idea of what I want it, Halibut was offered and accepted, with some fries and a drink. Sat down at a table and waited, it took approximately 15mins from when I ordered, and by this time I was hungry and couldn’t wait to try it. Now... I don’t eat fish and chips often, but from my personal opinion from what Ive had in the past, it was indeed the best I’ve tasted thus far. Freshly made to order, the fish was dipped in batter and fried in oil to a nice crisp. Served with the home made fries and tartar sauce (I think it was), there was another sauce (I don’t know the name), and a lemon to go on top. Let’s talk prices... $23 it cost for my dinner, and yes it will cost you more to order from here, but as the old saying goes “you get what you pay for” in my opinion. Quantity... I received enough food to eat, I think sometimes we get too much food and end up not finishing it, then wasting it. I was full. Final thoughts!... I’d come back and give the burgers a try, if you live in the area give KooKoo a visit.

The fish and chips (halibut, I believe) are the best that I’ve ever tasted. They’re excellent. The burgers are great too, but the fish and chips are better than anywhere.

Probably one of they best home made burgers in the planet or even the universe for that matter give them a 10 out of 10 service is awesome will always come back and you’ll never leave hungry or upset and always be coming back for more

The burgers were amazing, very good quality meat. The owner is very passionate about his business and his food. Sure, the burgers might be more than a regular greasy joint but nothing out of the ordinary for similar high quality burger places.

be carful what you say when reviewing this place, the owner threatens you with legal action if you post ANYTHING negative about them! had the fish, ordered it an hour in advance and it wasn't even started when i arrived. had to wait an extra half hr on top of the original pick-up time. fish was greasy, small portions, the fries where thin cut, a bit soggy since they were rushing the order now. tarter sauce was given to me in a plastic cup with the lid scotch-taped to the cup!! no cole slaw which really supprised me. for 6 orders i paid over $100, way over priced for the portion and quality i got. im my opinion, which i am entitled to no matter what the owner says - over rated in everyway.

Overhyped and overpriced. I went here only because of all the reviews I read online. I think it was all their friends and family who have left the reviews. I called first to inquire about the menu, (no menu online or anywhere else). I wanted to find out what was on the menu and the price ranges. They told me they are known for their fish and chips. I asked if it was big portions, he said yes. I asked some prices for burgers and fries as well as fish and chips. $16 for Halibut Fish and Chips I was told. They have specials on the burgers and I could see most of their menu on Instagram if I had that. I do not have Instagram I said. I asked a friend to look online and he said there is no menu, but lots of pictures. So off I went to try it.<br/><br/>   We got there and we were told that there was a special on the burgers, $3 off. I said OK, I will order 2 Burgers. He (the owner) asked if I would like to add fries and a drink to the orders for $4.50 more? I said OK, but only on 1 of them. I said I would try the Fish and Chips. He said "we only have the Halibut left I am all out of the other types of fish", I said that's ok that is all I would want would be the Halibut anyway, so it was $16 for the Halibut FISH and CHIPS right? He said yes. I said OK I will have that. I went into the washrooms with the kids to wash hands. No soap and no paper towels in either bathroom. Lights out in the men's bathroom. I said to the owner, there is no soap in the washrooms. He asked, "Do you want it now?" I said yes before we eat so the kids can wash their hands and be clean, I can fill it for you I said. No, it's OK. He went in the back and came out with 2 metal salad bowls with an inch of soap in the bottom of each one. We went inside and washed our hands.<br/><br/>   The food came out, and we sat down to eat. The Burgers were greasy and the fries equally greasy, no plates. All food is served on a wooden board with a sheet of wax paper, (I assume to soak up the grease). My daughter had fries which I did not ask for and they were half in the ketchup and the chipotle sauce poured onto each plate, even though we did not want either sauce. Portions were not large as promised. On to the fish, 2 pieces on the smaller side and greasy fries again. I ate the fish. The first piece was greasy as well, but fish was flaky and tasted great, on to the second piece, was definitely not Halibut and tasted nothing like the first piece as it was harder and clumped together and tasted and looked nothing like the first piece. The owner came over and asked how everything was as I was into my second piece and I told him that the fish did not taste the same as the first piece and was hard and clumpy. It did not taste like the first piece at all. He said, Oh No that is Halibut and we order it in fresh every day, no GMOs and no preservatives, yada, yada, yada. OK<br/><br/>   Now on to the best part, I go up to the cash register to pay. The owner says, "I only charged you for one extra fries", I replied, that's good because I only ordered one fries extra for my son. When I looked at the bill and said, wait a second you charged me for two combos an extra $4.50. He said no, one is the Burger with the fries combo, and the other is for your fries! Pardon Me? I had the FISH AND CHIPS @ $16. He said no that is just the Fish alone at $16 I told him no when I called earlier and spoke to you, you told me that the FISH AND CHIPS was $16 for the Halibut. When I placed the order you told me it was FISH AND CHIPS, you asked if I wanted fries with the burgers, not fries with the FISH??? I told you we were hungry and asked about portions, my daughter did not eat the fries and they were doused in the ketchup and greasy. He just insisted that no the fries are separate from the fish. OK. No offer to make any kind of amends so that I would be satisfied. I went to pay with my debit card. Oh, he said. The debit machine is broken and pointed to the machine with a piece of paper taped to it. I thought I told you that in the beginning. I said you did not tell me or I would have gone to the bank. There is a TD Bank across the parking lot he said. OK. Off I went kids in tow across the lot to withdraw cash. Went back and put $40 on the counter. I bet you that if I go back in two weeks the debit machine is still broken down and the washrooms are still out of paper towel and soap. Avoid this place at all costs. Very expensive, small portions, dirty washrooms, greasy as my mechanic's driveway and the list goes on. Word travels fast my friend and I don't think it is fair that you mislead people and now you are opening another franchise as well? Good luck. <br/><br/>Fool me once shame on YOU, fool me twice shame on me ROB.  Never again

The food at kookoos kitchen is veryyy tasty. The burgers are amazing and the fries are one of a kind there is no place I know with better food.

This place is absolutely amazing! From the service to the taste of their food. Also their music makes the place so much for hyped. I highly recommend this place!

KooKoo's Kitchen is a great restaurant, the staff is great and so is the food. They make the best fries and have the best deals. It is a very clean environment and very enjoyable.

Koo koos is the best burger place I've been 2 in a while. Quality beef, amazing people, and it's all around an amazing place 2 be. I go 2 Emily Carr and when I want an amazing meal I walk 2 here and I just relax and enjoy the fine atmosphere

TBH iv eaton a lot of burger and fry joints but KooKoos is by far the best. Here's the reason why, KooKoos doesn't only serve the best fries iv ever eaten but they drop some killer beats to keep u entertained while having and outstanding meal. Also service couldn't be better👌🏼👌🏼

My girlfriend's been following this place on Instagram for a while and yesterday we decided to take a detour from the highway and stop by.<br/><br/>Since I never heard of it before, I searched for reviews and I found some bad old reviews so, I was a bit skeptical. However, I read there was a new administration and the pictures of the burgers just looked awesome. Also, some newer reviews were very positive...<br/><br/>So, we got there and the place looked cool. It's not huge but there are enough seats to accommodate some people. It was almost empty when we got there but, while we were there more people came in for take-outs and to seat down including couples, young kids, families, which is nice to see...<br/><br/>We were welcomed by the owner who was taking care of the place. I believe a good business starts with a good attitude and, this guy has it! He didn't hesitate to introduce us to the business philosophy, explain the menu to us, give us recommendations, etc. All this with a good vibe and super friendly. I mean, just the way he talks about his food makes you want to try it.<br/><br/>I ordered the 8oz. Angus Burger and my girlfriend the Big Breasted Chicky, with a side of fries and onion rings to share...<br/><br/>All I have to say is that, those burgers were delicious! You get to choose your toppings and sauces. I just added fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, marinated mushrooms and pickles on top of what already comes with the burger (bacon, cheese, sauce). The meat was cooked through perfectly with the right amount of char and juice. I needed my two hands to hold it (and I have big ones). The bread buns were so good! He explained he gets a special bread for his burgers and special it is. You don't always find a burger that, the buns alone taste that good.<br/><br/>My girlfriend loved hers as well. I tried it and, it was super juicy!<br/><br/>We also enjoyed the sides a lot. The onion rings (or bracelets, as I would say) were huge yet, the batter was crispy and the onions fleshy and tender. The fries were very tasty but, I felt sometimes they were a little too salty. However, that didn't prevent us from eating every single bite!<br/><br/>Food wise, this place is really worth the visit. We don't live in the area but, we will definitely take that detour again.<br/><br/>Service wise? We felt we were at some of our friend's house having a good time. Another lady came out to help in the kitchen after a while giving the owner the chance to tidy up the place a bit.<br/><br/>This is not a fast-food restaurant so don't expect drive-thru speed here. The quality is worth the wait. I mean, we had burgers and fries and actually felt good about it!

Nothing. Burnt burgers. Greasy fries, that are either too raw or overcooked. Too pricy for crappy food.<br/><br/>Lunch time is overrun with highschoolers. Lady behind the counter would rather gossip with friends. They can only finish one dish at a time. Pretty sure I saw flies in the back.

Still gross! Limp batter. Burnt burger. No loitering.. I was here last year the food was Ok everything else was gross. Decided to give them another try recently cuz I was really hungry n wanted a burger, I kno theirs are grilled. The name/ inside has changed. I hoped the mgmnt changed also. Nope, still gross. The look of the place is better but the food is worse. Greasy tables n chairs same as last time. My burger was not greasy but was burnt and tough. Fries were dark brown n mushy with too much salt. My friends fried fish had limp batter fallin off. Also they serve the food on wood placks now. The placks are dirty I dont think they wash them. We waited 20 minutes for our food and the older lady there still brought out slaw for my friend some time later. After the lady was done talking to a short hairy man there who didnt order food. The food is gawd awful now. Service still sucks and the short man was weird. I would say no loitering pls but I wont eat here again anyways.

Terrible terrible terrible - waste of time and money. Fries were brunt and raw (crazy), onion rings cold and soggy, chicken strips extremley well done which means they were dry, they must be reusing oil over and over again. not only did the food suck but so did the service!!! worst customer service ever. these people can't figure out how to cook more than one meal at a time. over a 1 hour wait to receive our food and it all came at differnet times...so much for going out to dinner as a family.<br/><br/>don't waste your time or money!!!

I have eaten here a handful of times and i have to say best fish and chips and burgers around plus theyre grilled chicken and halibut is out of this world. i am and will be a returning customer

This place is disgusting. Very greasy, tasteless, soggy fries that are burnt, and fish exterior is also very soggy and greasy. Fishy smell and oil was burnt. Don't waist your money!!!!!
