Review Rosa's Place Restaurant - Woodbridge

It's a very cozy romantic place, the pace is slow but if you have an evening out with your significant other, I would highly recommend it! Their pasta was absolutely delicious. Overall, a great dining experience and they offer a Groupon menu that is 4-5 courses which was amazing from start to end.

A warm, classy, romantic place with a wonderful ambience. The service is top notch with waiters who are attentive and charismatic; they always seem to be there a split second before you need them. It's also remarkably refreshing to see a sharp, organized, and very articulate Maître D' who keeps things moving; I noticed he even had all his reservations memorized. The food was sufficiently delicious and cooked well. I'll definitely come back here when I get the chance.

Tried with Groupon. Service is good, decoration is great and romantic. Food is somehow not as good as I expected, potion is good but it's a little plain. Still worth the Groupon.

The food was absolutely delish! I dont understand the negative reviews unless I just happened to go on the right night. The food was served piping hot, service was excellent, the piano man was great, the ambiance and over all experience was great

Food was good and service is great. The server is very humble. Cozy private place.

Great place for small elegant events! We hosted an intimate birthday party here and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We found the meal prices to be reasonable, including the drinks. The setting is clean, elegant and welcoming. Great for kids too! Shirley Temples offered for the kids and kids meals for small appetites. My daughter's balloon drifted to the ceiling and the staff didn't miss a beat it to rescue it for her without neglecting their other guests. The staff made everything easy for us and we were able to enjoy ourselves.

Atmosphere: 9 Service: 8 Food: 6 The place was nice and comforting with a background live piano playing. The service was quite good, but it was an intense experience since there was no smile and server looked too serious. The food quantity was good, but quality did not meet the price. The meals did not look appetizing as it looked like it was just quickly tossed on there. Overall, not a place I would go back to.

Excellent food. Baby grand piano to further the ambiance, good wine selection and attentive staff. The recently new chef has turned things up a notch and there is a noticeable improvement in the flavour and quality of the food. Thank you Rosas Place. We will be back!

I agree with the other review. Not sure the negative reviews are all about... the food is good and service was as well. Went here for lunch and everything was delicious.

Recently went here for a late Vanlentine's Day dinner. We used a Groupon and our meals included 2 of the following: Appetizers, Pasta course, Mains and desserts. The mussels were cooked beautifully and very fresh. The pasta was penne a la vodka with panchetta. It was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce was over the top amazing. By the time the mains came we were both stuffed. The dessert was my favorite course. It was cappuccino and creme brule. The service was exceptional and very friendly. The only call out to make is that your tip is included on your bill and they charge it based on the original cost of all the items and still charge the HST as well. I was charged $47.47 on taxes and gratuities which is very ridiculous when my bill was only $24.87 for 2 drinks as I had already purchased a groupon. I asked the Manager and he said this was their policy. Groupon has been contacted about this issue and has refunded my purchase as this is is bad practice on the restaurants behalf.

What a terrible experience. Went for valentines diner and it was overbooked, over priced. We waited 2 hours, no lie. We finally got a table and heard other people complain about their food. We got the food finally but it was lousy. Won't go there again!

Treat you poor with Groupon. They forced me to pay tax on the paresis counted amount and pay a 15 percent tip which are both not legal. Service was poor, figured out they don't care since the tip is coming anyway.

And yes, the food is nothing to brag about.

Great!. After hearing so many good things about Rosa's Place over the years, we finally had the opportunity to go there for our anniversary. It certainly lived up to it's reputation. The food and service was fantastic and the atmosphere was very relaxing. It will definitely be our go to place for special occasions in the future.

Went to dinner last night and tried to use my Groupon. The owner was rude and obnoxious said I couldn't expect to use a the Groupon for a Saturday and Sunday. I had made a reservation and he said I did not but I remembered the name of person I made the reservation with, he tried to lie and said we did not have a reservation. Terrible owner, we begged for a table, the experience was terrible. Even though the food was good would never go back or recommend it to anyone.

Terrible!!! My wife and I were invited here for new years last night by friends, what a mistake. It cost $140 a person and the food was terrible and stingy!

I got 1 piece of bruschetta, 1 slice of prosciutto, 1/4 of a boconcini, 1 little shrimp and some mystery processed seafood, 1 slice of tomato with 2 little black olives, a tiny slice of eggplant and some random micro salad with no dressing as on appetizer. We then got some pasta and I mean some, it was ok but nothing to write home about and again a tiny portion, so I was like ok lets see the main.

The main comes out and it was steak and shrimp and it looked good, until I tasted it wow. The steak was way over done and was a cheap cut with grissel and sinew almost throughout and was thin and tasteless, two shrimp on top were ok. Its hard to screw up when there split and put on the grill top, there was also rapini wich I like so I tried a piece. Let me tell I have never had a rapini that was so bitter in my life, barely edible even with the steak. Most of the other ppl we were with we're spitting it out and cringing. We we also given the same mirco salad with no dressing and 3/4 of a small potato not 3 small potatos, a half and a quarter really?????

It just got worse as desert was a chopped panettone and plate of small oranges and a personal tiramisu Wich was ok. So we moved on the drinks and the ladies were ordering rounds for themselves and I could not believe it when the waiter brought there drinks and told them that was the last round of shots???? Wow that what $140 gets you, and at 1:15am the dj called for the last songs and killed it well before 2am.

Garbage garbage garbage!!!!!!

An Amazing Evening.. Saturday evening, my wife and I were celebrating our 3rd anniversary. Needless to say, I had to show her a grand time. My friends suggested that I take my wife Rosa's Place, they had been there many times before and had nothing but good things to say about it.
My wife is very finicky when it comes to special occasions. The mood had better be right.....There's nothing like walking into a place to the sounds of the Moonlight Sonata, right away, she smiled. We were seated promptly by the owner no less, even though the restaurant was very busy. Bonus, she smiled again, and grabbed my hand. Quickly after, the waiter was asking what we would like, a very pleasant fellow, Sami.. I had "Pappardelle con le Verdura"....wow...., she ordered the Vitello, and penne alla vodka....she was very impressed....By the end of the night both of us were beginning to realize that this would be, and was, one of the most romantic nights of our lives. Rosa's Place is absolutely a grand time. EXCEPTIONAL.

Exceptional!! a must visit for italian.. I must say, i have never been as happy visiting a toronto restaurant. and it had nothing to do with the food, which is out of this world. there caprese bufalo is to die for....and that's just the beginning. the fettucini alghero was a perfect symphony of taste.....i just came back from naples, and i must say, it is at par with any of the great italian restaurants in italy. the wait staff is kind quick and very good....it"s no wonder that they have been toronto's landmark for fine italian dining for years. and the great thing about rosa's is even though it's been totally refinished, the food has always remained consistantly outstanding. to top it off, they have there very own liberace, a pianist that is immeasurable in talent. great food, great music, great romance.....how else can you find it easy to impress that one, that few, that many people at once. so believe me when i say that the negative comments above must have been written by a jealous restaurant owner ....very well priced....very good food....warmest of ambience's....

Dont even bother. It sucked. food is way overpriced. i had a groupon and it still cost 60 bucks on top of that. Waiter even included a notice on the bill of what 15% tip equalled. which was actually wrong. since it was 15% of the full bill including TAX. not 15% of the meal price.

just dont bother going. that was the first and last time i eat there. felt like i got ripped off. when i went in to the restaurant thinking i had a great deal for a great establishment.

instead i paid for below average food. save your money and just go to the pita place next door. lol.

Terrible experience. Food too expensive and not up to the quality of other less expensive restaurants in the area. This is certainly not the Rosas place from 20 years ago. The service was poor. Potatoes were raw. Pasta was horrible. We had a gift certificate that didn't use to full value and had an extremely hard time to had a certificate reissued for remaining value. Will never be back but it was out of principal.

Not good, same Rosa's place???. Went to Rosa's place on Saturday night, we had tried Rosa's place several times at the old location on Finch Ave/Hwy. 400
Food was terrible, the mussels marinara were very small and had a funny taste. The antipasto had vegetables that were VERY crunchy, the seafood salad lacked any flavour not to mention the waiter forgot to bring them out initially. We ordered two fish platter entrees, again lacked flavour, very oily and clams that were CRUNCHY?!?!?
Portions were pathetic, not authentic Italian, that's for sure.
Thank goodness we had taken advantage of the WagJag deal, definately NOT worth the price.
BTW, not sure how the WagJaggers are going to use up the deal, only 12 tables in the restaurant:)))

By Far One of the Best Dinning Experiences. I was a little concerned when we scored a Groupon for this place that we would be treated like a discounted customer, but the moment we stepped into the door we were treated like we were the mayor of Toronto. Now I may not be the pickiest fine dinner but everything about this place struck home for me. The staff were incredibly professional yet at the same time extremely down to earth. We shared many laughs with them and felt completely relaxed and valued as their clientelle.

The food was everything I could have hoped for. We partook in some antipasto which was a beautiful mix of fresh ingredients with fine bread to boot. Their table wine was rich and full of flavour. They even gave us complimentary martinis.

They had a live piano player who performed tastefully and even was open to chat in between sets. By the end of the night we felt like regulars more than just customers.

I suppose if one is extremely picky and wants to be treated like a king the staff's lighthearted warmth might come off as inappropriate but for this guy and his wife it made us feel like we fit in with the classy delicious food and atmosphere.

Saving up our pennies to go back and would tell everyone to go! Absolutely bested my expectations.

Never Again!. Went to Rosa's Place Restaurant with my family (who came from out of Province) to celebrate my daughter's First Communion.
Our food was served almost 2 hours later and that considering the fact that restaurant was almost empty!!!
My father-in-law scolded the waiter who did seem a bit nervous about the lengthy service situation. Something was clearly not working right in the kitchen. It was so obvious after he asked us to change our food choice due to insufficient stock. We did not get our food order together. There were intervals of approximately 20 minutes between each person. One finished and the other one started. Food was cold and tasteless. Almost as if the meats and fish had only been boiled. I'm Italian and make great pasta dishes. As a true connaisseur, I can swear on two things... #1 the pasta dishes with tomato sauce at this place is crap and #2 I will never be back or recommend this restaurant to another living soul.
If you have good reviews about this place, you either eat at McDonald's everyday or are a family member trying to bring in business. Shame on you!

Wouldn't Come Back. This restaurant has since moved to Woodbridge. We had heard about this place and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, we were the only people in the restaurant for Sunday lunch. It was a bit awkward as the restaurant was huge and nicely decorated, so we thought there would be more people. When we ordered, the waiter who served us was very arrogant. He pretended he knew everything about all food and advised us not to order certain dishes. The food was okay, nothing great, and certainly not worth the price, over $300 for a party of 9!! The food wasn't anything great, and the service was definitely bad. We won't be returning to this restaurant that's for sure.

Best Italian. I find it laughable that some are claiming the food was processed or from a can and that they can make pasta better. There is NO WAY that ANYONE can make better pasta than Rosa's.
Furthermore all of the slack that the place is getting for old school is strange. They're a boisterous restaurant, that's for sure. But they're caring, funny, attentive, and always have a smile - especially the wife of the owner (she's amazing! So kind and sweet and genuinely cares about her customers).
The garlic bread is the best of it's kind. I would eat a whole meal's worth of it. There's no denying it's the best garlic bread ever.
As a asian, I know it's a real possibility for places to ignore having meat-friendly menus (and even easier to have meat options and fail miserably) but Rosa's has continued to impress me with it's amazing food. Furthermore there's a selection of meat friendly food! (as opposed to other restaurants who only give meat the option of taking the chicken out of their pasta Alfredo). The sauce is absolutely delicious! Perfect amounts of spice and flavour. The pasta itself is perfect every time. And you'll get enough to eat for the next few days (so the price is worth it - you're guaranteed a week's worth of food for the price of one meal!)
The ambiance is perfect and romantic. And the lighting adds to the mood.
It's a great restaurant with lots of variety (but if you're carnivorian, my favourite is the tortellini - mamma mia!)
Great restaurant, well worth the price! Would recommend to anyone!

Rosa’s is a fine dining atmosphere that is a great place to host all of life’s special events or to just enjoy a nice dinner or lunch. Rosa’s Place serves up lots of traditional Italian appetizers and entrees, and then some. You can enjoy Italian traditional soups like, Minestrone, Pasta Fagioli and Straciatella, and they also serve some classic appetizers like Oysters Rockefeller.

After 30 years at Finch and Arrow road, Rosa’s Place has made the move to Vaughan to the corner of Langstaff and Weston road.

Rosa’s serves up lots of time-honoured Italian pasta dishes and pizzas, but they really do the Carne e Pesce dishes very well. You can enjoy from a few choice cut of steaks, to lamb and veal dishes, or if you feel so inclined you can enjoy a mixed carne plate. Their seafood dishes also delight. They have a simple grilled salmon and also a few gamberi(shrimp) dishes and the coup de grace is a beautiful baked Chilean sea bass. To accompany all these dishes, you have an excellent Wine List to choose from. So come on down and enjoy Rosa’s famous hospitality right here in the heart of Vaughan!
