Review Ciao Roma Pizzeria - Woodbridge

Tried a few different flavours and I feel that the focus is definitely on the thick airy crust and tomato sauce which are both very fresh and tasty. The toppings otherwise didn't really stand out and some of the flavours I got fell a bit flat. Nevertheless, definitely a nice change in the pizza scene to have Roman style pizza that is cut and weighed to your liking. My order cost a bit over $10 which was a good, more than enough sized serving for one person. Service was also kind of standoffish and unapproachable, especially if it's your first time there. Lady didn't seem to want to describe the flavours and didnt seem friendly.

Same story as the other reviews. Super light and crispy crust. Ingredients tasted fresh and the beer was ice cold!

First time trying this place. I've been curious to try for a while now. Taste was average, BUT what was really unfortunate was charging me $37 for a party pizza and there was barely any cheese (and it's called 'bocconcini pizza') and minimal tomato, and minimal seasoning. I feel a bit robbed. This pizza couldn't have cost more than $3 to make.

Great pizza! Sold by weight so can try a little bit of everything. Come hungry. My only negative is there's too many options. They'll also make you an entire pizza if you want as well.

Authentic Italian pizza. With premium ingredients and toppings that reflect the traditional tastes of Italy. Don't miss out on this hidden gem. A town favorite and personal favorite of mine.

I'm not a lover of pizza, but their's is delicious. The crust for me is perfect, crispy and light. Worth the trip.

This place is awesome. Huge selection of the greatest pizza in Ontario. It’s cut as big as you want it and you’re charged by the weight. The actual restaurant itself is perfectly decorated and feels very welcoming. Hey ever meet someone and you’re wondering where you should take them on your first date? Take them here. There’s a few tables and counter seating. Bathrooms are very clean and on the same floor, so if you have mobility issues that’s good to know. They’re located inside a little strip mall so lots of parking. Also, if you’re in the area Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes deliver from this place. Highly recommend this place to anyone

Great pizza place that offers a lot of variety and the option to choose multiple slices with the size of your choice. Pay by the weight! Highly recommended! I would suggest using separate scissors for the meat and vegetarian options. ✂

IMHO, this is one of the best pizza joint in town. Serving 'rectangular' and price-by-weight pies, this place specializes in Roman style pizza. The light, honey combed and super crispy crust is enjoyable and ultra-addictive!! Toppings are unique and incorporate different permutations and combinations of uncommon ingredients. Eat immediately after they come out of the oven and the sensation and memory will last forever!

Rome style pizza is my favourite and what I grew up on. This pizza place hits the spot! You can order full pizzas, or try different kinds as they slice and serve by weight. Their potato pizza was a nice surprise as I’ve usually had it with thinly slices potato on top, but at Ciao Roma, they put creamy mashed potatoes on top. It was delicious!

Made a special trip and when I saw how much it looked like my Nonna and mom’s I was really excited. I had a full pizza box of mixed toppings. Unfortunately they used so much truffle oil on the mushroom & goat cheese (which didn’t even need the truffle oil) that it permeated through the others and rendered them inedible. Very sad since it looked amazing and I spent so much on something no one wants to eat.

Pretty unique pizzas. Price is not cheap but it has great taste and texture. This is not a pizza Pizza knock off. I would come here again because it's unique and it has fair prices.

Delicious options with wonderful thick, airy, soft, focaccia -like crust. I like that they will cut whatever size square slice you like, but I found it a bit over priced and I would have preferred a thicker layering of toppings. It's definitely different than the other top-rated and popular Italian pizza places in the city.

Great pizza that is really close to authentic Italian. They have quite a good selection to choose from at the counter or you can get a pizza made (fresh). Price is by weight depending on how many toppings you have so it can get a bit pricey compared to a pizza nova or something but it's so worth it.

Great pizza. The crust is thick, yet still light and fluffy. Lots of toppings to choose from. They serve the pizza "Rome" style, which means they cut your slice and weigh it to determine the price. Highly recommend the potato pizza.

Ciao Roma is just so perfect for me!

Someone that wants to try everything and could not make up his/her mind.

All those delicious looking pizza are ready to be sold by weight. I just want to try everything.

There is a menu right on the wall that describe every kind of pizza they serves which are all baked freshly in the kitchen on the side. But guessing which is which can be tricky.

The pizza I ordered are reheated in the oven and they all come out crispy and hot. And the bread like crust is the best part of the pizza!! Of course the premium toppings makes every slices/squares so unique!

Nutella pizza.. I want some of those next time!! Sugar and Carbs always a good ending of every meal!

Good.... A hidden gem off Weston Road and Roytek, this place does it exactly like they do in Italy...meaning they have about 10 different styles of pizza and you choose what you want. They ask you when/where and they cut it to size with a special scissor and you pay by weight. A great place to stop by for lunch and a beer if you are in the area and crave a real woodburned over pizza. Service is not bad....you must remember that people do have off days / stressed days. Its perfectly normal in the working world.

Not as good as it seems. After seeing it on "you gotta eat here" and being in the neighbourhood we stopped by. First impression was great smell followed by rude service. The lady that was helping us out didn't seem interested in letting us know what was on the each pizza (considering nothing was labelled). After getting a bad taste in our mouths from the service we we looking forward to some awesome pizza! The crust was amazing however the pizza overall was greasy and over priced. So we left unsatisfied....so remember not as good as it seems

Great pizza. Great Pizza and not expensive , considering that is a gourmet pizza made with all fresh ingredients....

Good food.....needs a bit of work though. Expensive for pizza, but I assure you it is worth it. I like how you can choose what size you want. This place charges you by weight, not by slice, so you can try a few different varieties at once. Service is super slow and they only take cash which is super annoying.

Great idea, Great pizza. I love it !! A little pricey but it is worth it, besides where else can you get Nuttela pizza from! Damn that was good! See you there!

I imagine that they had received an influx of new customers after their restaurant was aired on Food Networks “You got to eat here” on May 16th, 2014. What makes the pizza special is the crust! The owner brought back the popular thick and crunchy pizza crust from Rome after his travels to the beautiful city. The foccacia like crust is unique and I have not seen this at other pizzerias in Toronto.

Ciao Roma begin as a dream from two young entrepreneurs who wanted to bring the best pizza in the world to Vaughan. There is a wide selection of pizzas from a ‘bianca’ (plain white) to elaborate combinations never before seen in Vaughan, like their top selling tuna and artichoke pizza. It was a very round about way on how we ended up at Ciao Rom. My husband and I were running errands in Vaughan over the May long weekend and wanted to grab a quick bite. After checking out 3 different joints in the area, we were disappointed that the restaurants were closed (although their website said otherwise). Luckily, Ciao Roma came to the rescue and tweeted me to say they were opened. Yes, the power of social media drove us here and it was worth it.

Based on their website, I assumed it was a large sit down restaurant. It was not. There was the main service counter and room for about 10-12 customers to eat along the side of the walls and windows. This was exactly what we were looking for since we wanted to grab a quick bite and be on our way.

The servers were friendly and were happy to explain and suggest different types of pizza and sandwiches to order. I imagine that they had received an influx of new customers after their restaurant was aired on Food Networks “You got to eat here” on May 16th, 2014. We had no idea they were on the show, but we finally saw the episode.

Being our first time, we ordered a variety of items to try. For the pizza, we ordered the Affumicata with mushrooms and smoked provolone and the tartufona pizza with bocconcini and truffle oil.

What makes the pizza special is the crust! The owner brought back the popular thick and crunchy pizza crust from Rome after his travels to the beautiful city. The foccacia like crust is unique and I have not seen this at other pizzerias in Toronto. The mushroom pizza was delicious but the Tartufona pizza with the truffle oil could have benefited with some fresh parmesan cheese, prosciutto or salt.

The sandwiches are a must. I’d recommend the Ripiena focaccia sandwich with prosciutto, ricotta, arugula and balsamic glaze, as well as the Amatriciana sandwich with hot salami, pancetta and mozzarella. The bread is crunchy and the combination of ingredients in the sandwich was flavourful.

Finally we tried the mixed meat rice balls, as well as the mushroom and peas rice balls; the hot chunky fillings were a delight!

The price is charged by weight. Based on the items we ordered, it came out to $25 for the two of us which is reasonable.

If you are in the area, Ciao Roma is worth stopping by. They also deliver with orders over $50 to households in Woodbridge, Maple and Kleinburg.
