Came here for lunch on Monday and was pleasantly surprised that they honored the Monday specials despite being a long weekend! Friend and I just finished a round of golf and were super hungry, so decided to grab a bite here. $8 dollar lunches were excellent value and on Monday's, boneless wings are on special for $10!
I got the pickle hot dog and it was excellent! It had a fried pickle along with the hot dog and also a very nice creamy dill sauce. They also have a regular burger on special. This one was nothing to rave about. Patty was a tad flavourless and dry. Both lunches included fries and we decided to share a basket of boneless wings. Not really sure what to say about these. They are like chicken nuggets, but made with real chicken breast. But I found them dry and stringy, the sauce was awesome though!
It was pretty much empty when we arrived. As a result the service was awesome! Beers were cold and our waitress was very attractive. They also have a ton of wing flavors which is somewhat overwhelming! All baskets come with veggies and fries. From a concept perspective this place is awesome, problem is I wasn't particularly impressed with the food.
They have mac'n cheese bites and an insane variety of wing flavours. I really enjoyed the daisy duke's sweet and spicy combination, it's such a nice change to the typical hot, medium and mild or honey garlic versions offered most other places. Wild West and Pam Garlic are other nice different flavours. The place is small so seating is limited, as is parking in the strip mall it's located in.
Best wings in the city. Best selection by far. There's a big projector screen on the left wall, literally perfect for watching games. The Gar Par onion rings are AMAAAZING. I love the playful names of the wing flavors. Butt-Naked, Bareback Jack, Who's Your Daddy (MY FAV!). Jamaican Me Crazy (smells like herb), Country Girl, etc. I swapped with my friends and not one was bad. Also they have one of those jukebox machines that you can change with the app.
First time coming here. We had no idea where to start, but the waitress made great recommendations. For the 'hot tooth' we tried Home Town Hottie (hot sauce & sweet chili) and Bubbas (hot BBQ). I like the savory wings myself, so I tried Sweet escape (with the Gar Par) and Whiskey girl (BBQ with dill).
Anything with Gar Par (garlic parmesan sauce) is to die for!! It's a favorite at Wild Wing.
We went on a Tuesday which is 0.69$ Naked wing day. You can still pick any flavor you want but the wings are the slimmer, non breaded wings. Personally, I like naked wings myself :)
We also got some deep fried pickles since we had a coupon....Yum!! Hot and fresh!!
Also MGD on tap!!
All in all, great service and food. We didn't go on a game day but I heard it can get busy on game days. It was nice and dead when we went :) (we don't like being around lots of people and noise)
4 flavors down, 97 to go!!
SO MUCH SELECTION! SO LITTLE TIME!
Been here a couple months back, my friend and myself went there during wing night. She got the wing night deal, and I used my show and save. For a first timer, don't order the other things on the menu! The place is called Wild Wing for a reason! Try the wings first before trying the other things on their menu so you can be the judge.
I think I went with the dry cajun and my friend went for the mystery one.. I'd say, I like it! I'm really surprised you're given many options!!! I would definitely come back again and possibly re-evaluate my review. Everything is decently priced, portions are fair - where there are wings and tacos available, I am bound to come back to try them!
Amazing Wings!. Best wings I've had in the city! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Would recommend this place to anyone.
What you'd expect from a wing joint... Went during the 2nd period of a playoff game... was able to find a table quite easily. Service was quick. The menu was a little lengthy... I understand you're a wing place, but 100+ flavors of wings was almost intimidating. The table ordered wings and poutine... the wings were awesome! Warm, nicely sauced, tender and crunchy, and well cooked. The poutine was slightly disappointing, only in the sense that the cheese curds were not melted and the gravy was quite cold. The fries were hot, but not hot enough to melt everything together the way a good poutine should be.
BEST WINGS IN THE CITY!!!. I have been to wild Wings three Times, once on regent and twice on Pembina... Never Have I been disappointed nor has anyone who has gone with me had anything negative to say. Great establishment run by great people! The food Is very filling, flavours of wings are fantastic and its just a great place to watch the game. I will be a regular at this establishment for sure!
P.s Reading these reviews I can't help but think some of these negative comments are from people who run competing businesses....... When people go and try it for themselves they will see just how good this place is !
Best wings in the city!. This place is so good! Both locations, regent and Pembina. All the servers are very knowledgeable and helpful, the food is excellent from the 4 types of wings to the burgers, insane poutines, to the salads and wraps. I would recommend this place to any/everyone. Plus the pembina location has a very large 150" tv over the bar that is just perfect for watching winnipegs finest sports teams win their games. The pembina location looks like it's going to have a very nice patio too once it it set up. Again, a must go resturant for everyone! The true Wing Kings. Wild Wing!
Great customer service. I went to the pembina location which we have been waiting months to open! Customer service was great, the girls were very informative and were not ashamed to go back and ask the kitchen staff questions that she didn't know the answer to. Their wings are the best I've ever had, the pickeled willy Caesar was great as well. Will be back!
I've been to wild wing 3 times now and 2/3 times I had the same server. Christy or Chrissy? She is probably the only reason me and my fiancé came back as we both could not stop laughing, she was hilarious but our first time at Wild Wing was not the best because we tried the naked wings and didn't like them at all. They looked so burnt and the flavour was gross.
Next time I came Christy took the time to help pick something we'd enjoy (her favorite) Hometown Hottie. She also recommended we try the boneless wings as they were on special. We loved them!
The third time we came Christy was working but she was not our server.
But she actually still came over to the table and said hello . (you don't see a server do that at a lot of restaurants)
costumer service was excellent. Just definitely not a fan of your naked wings.
My family have been going to wild wings since it opened (around 8-10 times). It has become our restaurant of choose and by far our favourite in the city. We love the wings and our son loves the kids menu. The breaded wings are great but it's like anything as you could pick a flavour and not be a fan but we have a couple that we order every time and add 2 new flavours to try (Texas maple and farmers daughter are our favourites). We did have 1 sub par experience there with a server but it happens everywhere, the only thing I would like to see is a better drink special menu, when I'm there with my family I don't plan on having shooters. All in all we really enjoy Wild wings
We will be back! Went Monday night for their 69 cent boneless promo. First of all, great service. Ordered gar par fries to start - hot & delicious. Then tried 4 different kinds of wings: some beach, brown eyed girl, whiskey Bar & smokin dill. All were wonderfully tasty & cooked fresh. Best part - both baskets came with a handful of carrot & celery sticks complimentary unlike another 'not to be named' wing place that charges extra for that kind of thing. So all in all, I can't wait until the next time we are able to dine here!
Yum!. Great wings! It's the kind of place with lots of meat on the bone. I love all of the options and it's super fun. Great unconventional flavours.
The only thing I disliked was the Hot Chocolate flavoured wings. I was displeased by them because they are hot wings with a tiny bit of chocolate drizzle, I couldn't taste it at all! I hoped they would go big or go home with that one, since it's such a crazy and interesting flavour.
Otherwise, no complaints! Can't wait to go again.
Wild Wing is pretty good.. I went to Wild Wing once before with a friend, I tried the "Ring of Fire" wings, cause as my name says, I love it hot. They were quite hot and flavourful, but not as hot as Little Bones Wingery's special wings. The servers were cute, but not very bright, and they didn't always come by to see if you needed a refill, just could've been the one server I had. I would definitely go back, but I would probably try some different wings next time.
Wings were served hot, a little slow but the restaurant was almost full. Our waitress was very informative and checked in often. Only complaint is that the servers and hostesses would chat at the front booth and create a "crowd" there, when the space is already tight. It looks unprofessional and if I was a customer waiting to be seated, I would feel unappreciated and leave. Pretty much, it's only good when you get seated quickly.
Amazing food, great beverages and awesome waitresses! Very clean place aswell. Haven't had a bad experience! Much worth the trip.
So good. Some beach was my favorite!
Great wings! Big menu to choose from
Repeat Customer. I like trying new places to eat, so I went to Wild Wing. My meal was simple: beer, deep-fried pickles and of course, wings. As an aside, there are other options on the menu, including burgers and poutine.
Everything was fantastci!!! If you like really hot wings, I suggest "ring of fire". Unfortunately for me, as luck would have it, they ran out of milk! (Lesson learned: ask for milk beforehand b/c beer makes it worse). I also tried the ketchup-flavored wings (yes, ketchup). That one is easily my favorite.
Finally, one of the best things about Wild Wing is that they have volume during Jets games. Good luck getting that at Tony Romas or Smitty's. Sure, they'll do it, but you got to beg them.
Finally a comparable wing restaurant to Hooters but with 101 flavors! Restaurant is clean and inviting and also serves great apps and sandwiches to boot with exceptional service! cute waitresses are also a bonus here!
Decent But Pricey. I tried this place for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was crowded, but the wait for a table was about ten minutes.
Although the place is a sports bar, it had a decidedly western decor. Hardwood floor, wooden paneling half way up the walls with cowboy themed murals covering the rest of the wall. A number of tv screens showing a variety of sports programming. There had been a Jets game that afternoon so the waitresses were all dressed in Jets t-shirts.
The chicken wing menu is impressive. 101 varieties of chicken wings, but many of them are combinations of available sauces. You can have your wings breaded, unbreaded or boneless. They are pricey. Each order has ten wings. They are a good size, but one order is $11 and multiples tend to cost $1 per wing. As of now there are no wing nights. There may be specials introduced in the future.
The waitress was friendly and quick to provide drink refills. She knew the details of the menu. It did, however, take some time for our wings to arrive.
The wings I tried, were good...but I did not experience the flavours as advertised. Mango Chipotle tasted like cajun style wings...but it was a good flavour. Smokey bbq and chocolate did not have any hint of chocolate in it...but, as a smokey bbq flavour...it was good. As a result, it is hard to make a final determination of the food. What I had tasted good, but the flavour profiles did not match the menu.
Overall, I had a positive experience and I would go back to try this place again.
The whole concept of Wild Wing is variety yes? Well the owners have missed this with the menu. You have to order a minimum of 10 wings which is enough to fill up an adult. So this means you or I have to go back 100 more times to taste all the flavours.
There is a 3 flavour sampler but they charge more than just ordering 3 different flavours. The wings should be sold in 5's not 10's.
Regardless I have tried 3 flavours and all were tasty and large. So the food is good but the menu needs a tweak or 2.
Yummy Saturday Lunch. We dropped by last night to find Wild Wing closed for Good Friday.
Still craving chicken wings today, we stopped by for lunch about 2pm.
There was a Jets game on the big screens, but there was still a few tables open, so we were seated right away. A server stopped by our table to explain the menu as we had not been here before. As we tried to make a decision, a different server, Corryn, came by. She was to be our server, so she explained the menu to us again. She pointed out more options than the first server. We decided on the sampler which gives you four different types of topping on either traditional breaded, naked dry, or boneless wings. Comes with carrot and celery sticks and fries. We went for the traditional because who doesn't love breaded wings, and plain fries. As we were waiting for our order to arrive, a guy from the kitchen came by with another sampler that he said was a mixup in the kitchen. It would be ours, no charge, if we wanted it. So we accepted the gift! Shortly thereafter, our order arrived, so we had quite a selection of flavours on the two platters. Every one of the eight flavours we tried was delicious. The wings are quite large and meaty, and the fries were fine. Not home-made but still fine. Our server Corryn was attentive and friendly and the service was great. We will definitely go back. When we left the Jets were losing 2-0!
Good Wings but it ends there. Finally got into Wild Wing after a couple of previous attempts where the wait time was over an hour. The restaurant is very small and squishy. We were initially seated at a 4 person high top table but with 4 people there was barely enough room for our drinks and appetizers. Luckily the server was nice and allowed us to move to a booth when one became available.
For appetizers we shared the fried pickles and broccoli-cheddar-bacon bites. The pickles were pretty good and the BCB bites were good as well but I had trouble tasting the bacon. One negative was that you could tell the appetizers both spent a minute too long in the fryer.
For wings I personally tried Southern Heat, Desperado, All Dressed, and a spicy Gar Par variety, all traditionally breaded. The Southern Heat was a level 4 spice but much tamer than the level 3 Desperado (medium and maple). The Desperado tasted like a hot wing and had no maple flavoring at all. The All Dressed tasted like it was coated in just salt, not that great although my bf enjoyed them. The spicy Gar Par was really good and flavorful. I found the wings to be really meaty and juicy--definitely good quality. Our group also shared Potato Skin Fries, which weren't good at all. The fries were overdone and super dry and tasteless. There was also not enough topping. Service throughout the evening was great. The best part of the meal was definitely the wings and for the price they charge I thought it was a fair portion size. I might come back here for wings, but due to the appetizers and fries being way overcooked I would not order those items again.
WOW!!!. Was finally able to check the this place out after all the hype and I can say it met my expectations
I went on Monday night and it was much busier than I expected...waited about 10 minutes for a table
The place was a little smaller than I expected but apparently this was an above average size for a Wild Wing
Service was okay and got drinks right away
Food took about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait
We ordered the mac and cheese bites, pulled pork poutine, and a double order of wings (dill pickle, honey garlic)
Wings were amazing with alot of flavour and different from the Smitty's wings that I was accustomed to
BEWARE: For those looking for cheap wings this is not for you. Wings are a little pricey but I would gladly pay a little extra for the size, quality and taste but its NOT for everyone.
Okay wings.. We went here on the week it opened. It's safe to assume the service would be slow and we were right on the ball on that. It took us 20 minutes to be seated which we found to be reasonable because it is a new establishment and it was a full house and what I believe to be a hockey night.
What was really disappointing, however, was the service speed. Yes, the waitress got to us and gave us our drinks but we waited 1 hour for our food to be delivered to us when we were promised at the very most 30 minutes. We did not order appetizers.
The wings are a bit pricy, but I'd recommend just ordering a single portion for $11 (I think that's how much it is) because the wings are huge. That night we did not have the "traditional" which is the breaded option because they were all out so we had the "buck naked" and "boneless." Anyway, both were huge but I prefer the buck naked wings, it's just not wings without the bone. The boneless ones aren't bad it's just I'm eating a portion of cut up chicken breast/mystery chicken pieces.
We tried the teriyaki maple which was good, maple honey garlic, ranch and dill, honey garlic and dill, some weird BBQ sauce, and the Ring of Fire which is apparently the hottest wing. It was very hot if you didn't douse it in some form of creamy dressing but it was still delicious.
As an apology for the crappy service the waitress gave us 3 extra orders of wings. I believe it was jerk chicken boneless wings for all of them. No one else at our table liked them except me, because I like jerk chicken. It was very delicious.
All in all it is a good place for wings, if you like wings anyway. It is bigger than your average wing you get at Smitty's or any other place for wing night.
Meaty Wings!. A massive variety of wing flavours, plus 3 wing styles: regular (breaded), boneless, and naked (no breading). Lots of other choices on the menu for those people who don't like wings. A little on the pricey side. 20 wings cost $23 after taxes. That said, every wing was meaty and tasty. Well worth the money. Will come back again.
Good food, but expensive. Went here on St. Patrick's Day with the family and was surprised it wasn't too packed, although we came a wee bit early.
Family ended up ordering three orders of wings, the willy pickles and one kids hot dog meal.
The wings were good. We ordered some boneless and some traditional. They came out saucy and hot (although the spicy gar-par wasn't all that spicy) and we enjoyed them, except for the ranch dressing. It looked (and tasted) like watered-down mayonnaise.
The pickles were delicious and the dill sauce for them was pretty damn awesome.
Kid's hot dog was huge, but I'd recommend to the restaurant about getting lids for the kids' drinks as mine spilled hers - twice.
Service was excellent. Decor was fine.
Price was way too high, tho' at more than a buck a wing. Could have received more food at Famous Dave's across the street for the same price.
May be back. Glad we tried it.
Love the wings and atmosphere
Service was amazing
Had the pickled Willys and jalapeño poppers
As for wings I got ketchup, Jamaican me crazy, and gar par
Food took about 20 min but it was packed and understandable
I will be back to try more flavours
Lots of Flavours. If you like the novelty of going out with the guys and picking a bunch of randomly named wings, while daring one person to get the hottest of the hot. Then this place is for you. Honestly, you have to go to this place knowing what to expect. It is a wing joint and its main selling feature is a 101 flavours of wings. I personally did not think they were the best wings I have had, but they were still good enough that I would definitely go back. I want to try more flavours and the nachos we had along the wings were very good. Downsides are that the wings are very expensive in my opinion and they have a pretty abysmal selection of beers. The beers are basically all light beers like bud, bud light, and MGD. They don't have any micro-brewed, local, or even heavier beers. But like I said, I enjoyed my time and the number of wing flavours is astonishing and it makes for an enjoyable time just trying all the different combos of wings.
I went there with a couple coworkers and extremely enjoyed my experience. Food was ready fast and the staff was super friendly and not sleazy unlike a lot of other places in the city. Definitely going back ASAP!
Best wings EVER!!! Have b.... Best wings EVER!!!
Have been waiting forever for a great wing place to open up nearby. Waitress was super friendly and service was fast. I would definiteky recommend this place to all my friends.
Best Wings in Town!. Great food, great place and friendly staff. Loving the Gar Par. Goal is to try all!!
Awesome staff! Awesome wings! Awesome hang out!
Best Flavours!. Gar gar is the best wing flavour you can get anywhere. Go try it!
So many delicious flavours. Great atmosphere for watching the hockey game. Can't wait till the nfl starts back up. Sundays at wild wing will become tradition.
Wingtastic!. I am from Toronto and have eaten many wings in my life. I absolutely loved the wings at WILD WING! I have been anticipating for this restaurant to open since I've heard of it months ago and I was so excited to get a table in the packed restaurant! I waited for about 15 minutes, which I expected for a new restaurant opening. The waitress was so friendly and I was surprised to see that the manager was really working hard also!
I had the Garpar wings with the poutine that had bacon on it and the mac and cheese bits which were soooo delicious! Although it took me 15 minutes to just read the 101 flavors of wings the read was worth it! I will definitely be coming back and will make this a regular hang out for my girls and I!
Went to WW over the weekend and was surprised that there wasn't a long line up. Waited for 5 minutes before we got a table. Menu comes with 1-5 flavors. Which is basically 1 pound per flavor (or ten wings for 10.99). So the price sets the bar quite high for what we expected. WE got our appetizer (mac and cheese ) and the first impression was "wow those are a little small". they were decent but we couldve had twice the size (specailly for the price).
We tried the bluemoonshine, dry Cajun, mango chipotle and a honey garlic type (can't remember the exact name). The Dry Cajun were the best of the bunch.
The wings are fairly big in size compared to other wing places and I think they are pretty good. Wings were juicy , consistent breading/batter all around and freshly made. Waitress was pretty attentive but we felt a little rushed out of the place but I guess since its the opening weekend that's a little to be expected.
Televisions are well placed so that every seat gets a good view of what's on. Good place, pricey wings but will be returning soon to try more flavors. A good addition to winnipegs eateries for sure.
One advise to the owner: You've got to have specials at certain days of the week. Especially since your wings are on the more expensive side.
Great Atmosphere. We checked out Wild Wing with family for the Jets game yesterday. Although there were a few kinks, which are expected opening week, the overall experience was awesome. We ordered The Maverick which is five flavors and ordered the Sweet Escapes, Mango Chipotle, Hot Chocolate, Frank's Hot, and Salt & Pepper in traditional breaded style along with the deep fried pickles and onion rings. Let's just say there weren't any leftovers to take home. The pickles were outstanding and the Sweet Escapes were the consensus favorite.
Every seat has a good view of a TV with a Scoreboard/Jumbotron looking 4 sided TV set up in the middle of the room, two big screens at the bar and a Screen Projector on the opposite wall. The beer is cold and they have 6 varieties on tap which makes this restaurant/lounge a great place to catch a game.
It was a great meal that would have only been made better with a Jets win (what a crappy 3rd period), but all in all it was a good experience. Service can improve but we will give it a pass as it is their first week. If you like wings you will love Wild Wing. Will definitely be back especially for game night!
Great!. I consider myself somewhat of a chicken wing connoisseur... and the wings I received at Wild Wings were exceptional! Easily the best wings I've had in a while. The service was top notch as well. Our server (Chloe?) was always quick to help us whenever we had a question or to give us a refill.
Would definitely recommend and will definitely return soon!
WOW great food, great service opening night considering the place was packed. Waitresses were friendly and just overall great atmosphere. They handed out free giant beer mugs to the folks on opening night. Thought that was great. Huge selection on the menu, something for everyone. Must go!
