Great place for Chinese lunch buffet. More selections than most and friendly service keeping the cost low. Food is hot, place is clean. Will be back again!!
Very good palce,I and my family and friends every few months will come, every time you can eat very good
i love it,the chicken is great !you should be here
Southland certainly serves authentic Chinese food and while its quality and consistency can be hit and miss. The dim sum was borderline disappointing in quality and better can be found in the area, while the dinner menu items were much better. Taken together Southland serves solid Chinese food at reasonable prices and ultimately worth a visit if you are in the area.
Got the 11 course seafood combo for only $240. Came here with 8 people for Valentine's Day. Food was excellent, fresh and tasty except a few dishes were warm/chill. Service was good too. Great price compared to the 9 course meal at Kum Koon for $315.
New review for this place because it's under new management. They no longer offer the dinner buffet, but they offer a so-so lunch buffet.
Their dim sum is great and happy hour prices a steal. Great quality food!
For regular a-la-carte, very good too. Their noodles are top notch, fried rice is good, their stuffed black bean eggplant is A+, and their butter fried chicken? Very buttery without all the grease touching your lips.
Some of the best Dim Sum ever. I see it has been more than a year since anyone wrote a review here. New owners took over several months ago.
Have been several times over the last few months. Atmosphere is good, service was fine, value for quality of food was incredibly good! We have eaten at all the dim sum restaurants in Winnipeg and Southland is possibly the best value. Dishes are very tasty, promptly served authentic dim sum at half the price of Kum Koon. Basically Noodle Express value with an atmosphere more upscale closer to Kum Koon.
Our favourites include crispy tofu, stuffed eggplant/pepper, chive dumplings, beef balls, steamed bean curd rolls and many more .... even reasonably priced wine!
The restaurant seems to be always busy with mostly Asian patrons. I will be back frequently.
A fabulous Chinese quick fix! We were driving down Pembina and was in need of something hot to eat. My party of four ordered the fried with with lots of egg, the honey garlic chicken balls, the walnut shrimp, and the cold chicken with ginger sauce. All were pretty good and filled up four people for only $50
Excellent food at excellent value. This is our place for Chinese takeout. I find the prices very reasonable and the food is always good, not greasy like some places. We have never eaten in, but the place always seems busy when we go to pick up. The Sweet and Sour Pineapple Pork is a favourite.
The Real Deal. Want to know why you never see Chinese ppl eating in Chinatown?? It's because they all eat here!! Authentic Hong Kong style Chinese cuisine. I had the crispy chicken, bbq pork, and tofu hot pot all delicious. they have a lot of staff so service is very prompt. they also have excellent Chinese pastries, I took an order of "piggies in a blanket" to go, the dough is so soft. I hear they also have an all u can eat dim sum on the weekends....to be continued.
Excellent Chinese food. Try the fried pork hock
