Dim Sum Garden is located across from Kum Koon Garden in Chinatown on King St. It is located on the second floor of the building. My family and I go for brunch every Sundays. Dim Sum Garden is our #1 go-to for dim sum. The food is delicious, non-greasy and reasonably priced. If I had to compare Dim Sum Garden with Kum Koon, Dim Sum Garden would win hands down! We found that Kum Koon's dim sum is mostly filled with deep fried items, hence I always walk out with a greasy stomach.
The restaurant has a very tiny parking lot adjacent to the building so don't even attempt to find a spot there if you've decided to go. However, there is always free street parking available on Princess if you go on Sundays.
P.S. People dug into the food before I even got a change to capture the picture....
Came here on a Sunday for lunch, and the restaurant was pretty packed. We were greeted by a hostess and were seated quickly.
They had the dim sum carts going around and it's definitely something that you don't see much anymore. From what I know, Kum Koon is the only other restaurant that does it still.
There was no wait for food, which is always a good thing. The dim sum was okay, nothing spectacular. The variety here is better than some other places. Service was actually pretty good surprisingly.
The deluxe seafood dumplings were delicious, although not part of the 'happy hour' menu.
The Swizzle Styx dined here today and it was OK. The service was definitely on the slow side and not at all helpful with choosing menu items. The food was good, to me it was typical dim sum and nothing terribly spectacular but we were all full and happy. Not sure if we will be back.
My cowokers at the time and myself had ordered from here, and the dimsum was good! Quite the selection really. I would definitely come back here again, when I could find more people who enjoy dim sum to eat with. We had take-out, I will update on my experience on how dine-in is like.
Food here is great. From dimsum to their entrees. My favourite is their pork dumplings. Will definitely go back. Gotta try their mango pudding too
Average.. This is my favourite place to go to for happy hour. Their food is freshly made. However, for dinner, I would say the food is mediocre. It's a little bit salty sometimes but overall I think this restaurant is a good place if you're looking for inexpensive food.
Standard dim sum. I tried out Dim Sum Garden at its newer location on King St on a Sunday, after 11am, for their weekend happy hour. It was the cart service, so we were able to eat right away. The servers were attentive and came frequently. The dishes were comparable to most other dim sum places in Winnipeg, with good dumplings, variety and inexpensive happy hour prices. One of our dishes was a little cold when we bit into it, so it could have been out on the cart for awhile. Other than that small complaint, the new space is much more pleasant, open and buzzing than the previous location.
*I've returned twice, each time on a Sunday during Happy Hour. You're at the mercy of whatever is available on the carts. When the servers with carts would come by and I would ask for something specific that hadn't come around yet, the requests would fall on deaf ears.
I liked this dim sum restaurant. The place was very spacious and the food was absolutely delicious. I liked the eggplant that sandwiched a shrimp. YUM!! When I got my steamed rice shrimp rolls. I asked for more sauce and they generously gave me huge servings of sauce! Loved this place. Very inexpensive too during happy hours. I can say that I will be coming back again!
I like going here. I love the chicken skewers and the deep fried shrimp rolls ( especially the sauce). I recommend going here and for sure I will eat here again.Staff are very accommodating. It wasn't busy at all when I went which was very nice.
Dinner is always great here. Good proportions, price and staff.
WELCOME BACK. Went here with my family for a late night bite!! It's bigger and better than their existing location!! Will definitely be back!!
Change location & changed attitude. We had a great surpirse to find out that they moved to a new location, into a nice and well lite place. The Dim Sum was excellent and is now our favorite Dim Sum place. The staff attituted is excellent friendly & helpful sometihing these type of restaurants have been missing.
Hit or miss. Can be ok or really gross. I don't go
There anymore after one really
Bad experience. Also they've been shut down on

Great food. It is best to visit this place during happy hour since you can really save a lot. I like it because it's different from other Chinese restaurants. They actually serve dim sum dishes, not the usual meal and rice.
Its not my first choice for dim sum, but they definitely win me over by having dim sum at night. It satisfy my late night dim sum craving!
Good dim sum at a good price. Great lunch spot!
I like happy hour deal there. Nice way to try different kinds of dim sum with only half price! The only thing I didn't like about this place was they just come too often that I didn't have chance to have conversation with my friends. But otherwise I like it here.
I love it. We were there yesterday for brunch. Arrived around 11.30 and didn't have to wait and got seated. They were using all rooms and it was crowded but we didn't have to wait for food because girls were walking around non-stop! And it was delicious!
We were leaving some hour and half later and line up was big.
Love it!. I have become an avid Dim Sum Garden customer. I was first had dim sum awhile ago, and it was disappointing when Grand Garden had shut its doors. Then, I was introduced to Dim Sum Garden and its happy hours have definitely made me one happy person. The staff are quite friendly, and they may be difficulut to understand while they push their carts - but if you know your Dim Sum items, you're good to go. My two favorite dishes are pork dumplings (siomai) and hot tofu.
Good..... Very hit or miss - sometimes it's great, sometimes it tastes a little off.
Dim Sum Garden, a highly regarded Cantonese eatery was open and ready to fill my now growling stomach. The exterior of the restaurant is typical for the area of town, laying
