Went with my boyfriend for lunch yesterday! Both really enjoyed our burgers and the set up. The waitress was great and accommodating. Will definitely be going back!
In the restaurant itself we have always had shitty service. Very shitty. However the review is about tonight. We ordered from skipthedishes. Order was correct. Everything was labeled. And it was absolutely delicious.
Their food and drinks are amazing. I would highly recommend their deep fried pickles, probably the best in Winnipeg.
Rooftop patio is excellent for summer night.
I just wish they put more effort into their Instagram page, the pictures they take makes their food look undesirable.
The Swizzle Styx dined here this week and it was pretty good. We had a nice patio day so we enjoyed the roof top. The patio has such great potential but is definitely in need of some TLC. The food was excellent, delicious and tasty burgers and good fries and onion rings. The service was excellent, our server was Victoria and she was top notch.
Came here with my mom to try the delicious looking Caesars! Nice and cozy little spot, located in Corydon village. There was no one in the restaurant when we got there so we were able to ask lots of questions and get suggestions. They had a peppermint schnapps hot cocoa being featured, and I couldn't resist. My mom decided to go with the small Caesar with a mini slider on top. For food, we got the frings poutine and the fried pickles. Yum yum yum!!! The poutine was quite tasty, but the fried pickles were amazing!!! Really great dining experience all around. Our server was super friendly and made the experience very enjoyable.
Great for vegan and vegetarian options. I love getting the falafel on a salad with tahini sauce. The black bean burger with fries is yummy too!
I know the reviews lately haven't been great so I thought I should add one. I've been here under the old management and now with the new. Came for burgers both times, and mostly my friends did too. I didn't find much difference in quality on the burger, which is to say we really liked it. The old Brioche bun was now a standard hamburger bun though I think they called it a brioche. But the patty was great. I had the sliders which I don't think was the right choice for me but my friends' Mac n Cheese looked yummy and they were really happy. We had a number of people so we had called ahead and all of the interactions were great. I'd say the end of the night wasn't fantastic, perhaps as they got more busy, as it took a long time and she had to be asked to come let us pay. One friend also had an issue with the coleslaw, which was very much a pool of sauce with a bit of slaw in it. So, if you're going for a burger you shouldn't be disappointed.
Market Burger is changed management in December and the menu has totally changed. More vegetarian and vegan options have been added. The new owner has added a Mediterranean style to the new menu. You can always find the owner at the restaurant.

Decided to order out on Saturday night, I wanted a burger and I had a sudden craving for fried pickles, so I went on Skip the dishes to see if I could find what I wanted and I came across Market Burger, seemed to have mixed reviews but I thought Id give it a shot. Order a bacon cheeseburger, it was a fair size, the flavor of the meat fell flat and all I could really taste was the mustard, mayo, pickles and red onion...The Gyro was tiny and the onion rings were the skinny greasy kind, not the homemade ones in the pictures above, that was disappointing and there wasn't very many and they cost 5.99, def wasn't worth it. The only thing that I thought was really good was the fried pickles, not just slices deep fried but actually pickle wedges, they were amazing, I should of ordered more! Sadly though I don't think Id be ordering from Market Burger again, it didn't really WOW my taste buds.
UPDATE, Recently ordered a burger and deep fried pickles through skipthedishes, it was completely different from the first time I tried Market Burger, it was 10 times better and the pickles are to die for! Will be ordering again, great big burger just the way I like it!

I've been to Market Burger a number of times now and it has always been really good. The burgers are good quality and taste great, and you can customize them however you'd like, and they also have some pretty interesting burgers on the menu as well. The rooftop patio is awesome as well!
My favorite is their bacon poutine with a fried egg on top. Mmmm
I ordered the chili. Very spicy, had a hint of sweet in it. Didn't come with any kind of bread, a little disappointed with that.
I really don't understand why people have written bad reviews about this place. Today was my second time going there and I brought my whole family (who are all burger critics) and I have nothing but great things to say about Market Burger. My food was delicious! Servings are huge, the ketchup is homemade and AMAZING. The list goes on. Whoever eats here and has bad reviews are either eating at a different market burger or are old and senile because this place is the bomb! Will be returning and so will my family.

Really like it.. I too have had long wait times, though only once did I really notice and I think the server was fairly new. Otherwise, I really love this place. I've only ever eaten on the rooftop patio, which I love. The cocktails are delicious. I'm vegan, so I've only had the one vegan burger, but I really appreciate that there are vegetarian/vegan options and how many choices there are for buns/ketchups/sides.
Great Food, Slooooow Kitchen. Yes, the restaurant was busy, but it's small!!! Waited 40 minutes for one plate of fries and 2 burgers. Really, burgers and fries should not take this long, Service was friendly and apologetic. The food was mostly exceptional (PB bacon burger and Smothered chili burger) but we were disappointed by the hickory stick fries. Thin and crispy like hickory sticks but no hickory flavor. Just a misleading description.

Desi burger- great, Price & Service- not so great. Been twice now and loved the burgers each time. The Desi, pakistani patty is full of flavor and will have me coming back time and time again. The prices definitely could be lower considering they do not include a side but the price you pay for the fries is more than worth it as a portion is well enough for THREE people. Order half sizes for yourself and save yourself some money and the doggy bag. I will admit both times the service was terrible and despite there being 3 people working with only us as the customers! we waited way too long to order drinks and they spent most of the time we were there talking to themselves. The prices and service won't deter me though as the food is fantastic.

Check it out. Read a bunch of reviews on urbanspoon.com and many people had poor service but raved about good food, Since I don't like to make decisions based of other peoples opinions we went this evening with expectations of poor service and just another burger place. When we arrived there was only 1 table available so we sat thinking it will be a while before we are acknowledged. Complete opposite ! Took only 4 minutes to bring menus and take the drink order. When the drinks arrived we ordered.
On a recommendation from the server I ordered a DESI burger which is a Brioche bun, Pakistani-style beef patty with a special blend of spices, fresh cilantro and onion. Topped with lettuce, tomato, a cilantro dressing and their house-made mayo. with a side of Hickory fries, It was extremely flavorful !!
Also inquired if they had chilli fries and was told "not on the menu but we can make them for you" Decided not to order them and she brought some fries with a chilli salsa and cheese out and said try them on the house ! They were really good.
The only complaints I had was the runny ketchup that is left on the table.
It was immediately replaced with a bottle from the fridge and explained that they make it themselves on onsite. The cold one was much better,
Also when you walk in you get the distinct odor of potato fryer and unfortunately here I am 3 hours later and my clothes still smell like fryer so they really need to service the kitchen exhaust fan.
My opinion,
Don't go on a day that you cant go home and change after But definitely check it out as the food was really good and the portions were huge, Also if there is ketchup on the table trade it for a cold one.
I will be back to try something else from the unique menu.
I visited Market Burger with two friends this past Sunday. Our server was very polite and attentive, which was impressive given how busy the restaurant seemed. We all had cocktails, which were impressive in both presentation and taste. Unfortunately, a lot of items were sold out (due to Pride traffic?). However, we all ordered custom burgers and unanimously agreed that it was a great meal! While I was disappointed at the shortage of my first pick off the menu, I recognize such things are unavoidable (especially on busy days. If anything, it gives me an excuse to come back! I really enjoyed Market Burger and its patio, and I am recommending it to all my friends!

Don't come here if you're in a rush. My cousin and I ate here on a gorgeous day so obviously the rooftop patio was phenomenal. The service however was slow especially since we were only one of two tables. I had the slider trio which was good I'd definitely order the Mac and cheese burger again. She had the black bean burger and really liked it. The fries however are worth skipping and the mint and lime in the mojito were dried out and not fresh at all.
Good experience on a beautiful day. I visited last week with my dad, we both had drinks and burgers and shared an order of hickory cut fries. The service wasn't blazingly fast but we were in no hurry, sitting on the roof and enjoying the sun. My first watermelon cocktail was scrumptious, and I was so pleased I ordered another that came with WAY too much lime juice it was pretty much undrinkable. I made my own burger and the chicken breast was the most beautiful I've ever seen, still very moist and glistening- it looked like an ad! The hickory cut fries were amazing, I love crunchy fries so I really enjoyed them. A ridiculous portion though, two adults couldn't finish them. All in all a good experience, I'll be back!
Good food but slow service. Been to Market burger a couple times. They are small restaurant with limited seating, tend to have longer wait times due to their small staff. They have few delicious vegetarian choices. They carry the sun burgers and a mean black bean burger. Their portions are pretty generous and callow substitutions. We ordered Mac and Cheese burger and substituted the regular burger with the Sun burger. Their Wosley fries were really good!

Love the mojitos. I've been to Market Burger twice in the last week. Went last Friday for girl's night with some friends, sat inside as the patio was quite full. Service was good, tried the fried pickles and the Menno poutine (which was amazing). I also had 2 blueberry mojitos, my new favorite drink.
My boyfriend and I went again yesterday to sit on the rooftop patio and shared the slider platter and another order of the Menno poutine. The service was excellent, all 3 sliders were great (my favorite was the Desi and my boyfriend loved the Mac & Cheese burger). I had another blueberry mojito and also tried the delicious watermelon cocktail. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more burgers.
The only thing that could make this place better is if there were more shade on the patio. But my two visits were great and I'll definitely be back!
Went for dinner tonight, service was great, food was as well(had the Banh Mi Burger). Was pleasantly surprised considering all the bad reviews. Go and make your own decision!

Delicious!. I have been dying to try Market Burger for months after seeing so many fantastic posts on instagram and great reviews from my friends. I read a lot of mixed reviews so I wasn't sure what to except. A friend and I went today and it was phenomenal! I built my own burger (Bison on Brioche with cheddar, garlic mayo, bacon relish, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato and onion), my friend had the Mac n Cheese burger and we shared frings. We tried the chipotle mayo dip and also the cheese dip. The cheese dip was fantastic and we both loved our burgers! Portions are great. The order of frings we shared was HUGE, we had to take half home. One order is good to share for 2-3 people for sure! Service was very nice. Our server was very friendly. She was busy and wasn't able to check on us until we were almost done but she sincerely apologized. It was strange that there was only one server on. The wait was a little long. We were sat right away but our food took about 30ish minutes. Definitely worth the wait though and I would go back for sure! Very pleased. Prices were not outrageous either! I spent $15 and I was stuffed and had leftovers!
A Nice Surprise! Tasty and fresh. I was a little apprehensive about going here, based on the negative reviews. However I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. Great combinations for burgers, and loved the 'build your own' option.
Our table had a variety of the burgers; Mac'n'Cheese, Butter Chicken, and two customs.
The sides are also great, tried the poutine with half fries and half onion rings (FRINGS) and loved the new spin on a classic dish...
Overall, don't be afraid of the reviews. They have obviously been listening and stepped up their game!

I had read Urbanspoon reviews before we came and felt a bit leery, but after going there and trying it today I was happy that our experience was nothing like what the negative reviews described! We really liked it there! The service was quick and prompt: waters were refilled often, food came quite fast, servers checked in on us, and best of all burgers and fries were great! We decided to build our own burgers. My husband had a Bison burger with Blue Cheese, Chipotle Ketchup and Mayo. I had a Beef burger with Bacon, Carmelized Onions, Bacon Relish and Garlic Mayo. We also ordered one plate of fries and another of hickory matchstick fries with Red Pepper Mayo and house made ketchup to dip. All of it was delicious! The restaurant decor was super cute. We would definitely come back!

Went to Market Burger on Valentines night with my boyfriend while it was still busy around 8pm. We were sat within five minutes at a clean table. We liked the feel of the place, the art and chalk on the walls and the mismatched chairs. They had the chicken and waffle burger still on special so we go that with frings and a side of Mac n Cheese to share. The portion was HUGE. I'd say the portion of frings was the biggest I've seen in a Canadian restaurant. Both the onion rings and fries were good and homemade and seasoned well. The burger had maple bacon and maple syrup and maple mayo so it was quite indulgent. Don't think we'd get that particular one again just because it was too big split between two people and also because it's not on the real menu anyhow. But it was very good. The Mac n Cheese was just okay like the other reviews said, could use a little baking for some added crust on top. Want to try the bison burger next time. The service was good and waters were refilled promptly and cheerfully without asking! I'd give this place an 8/10, worth the trip and price - delish.

SO YUMMY!. I have no idea where all these negative reviews are coming from! I have ate here 5 times if not more and have been very happy with my meal everytime! The butter chicken is one of my faviorites! The beef burgers have so much flavor as well! Add the Jalepeno sauce (so yummy!!) to your beef burger. The Frings are awesome and you get so much (maybe a little too much if your not a huge eater). Service is awesome! I like how everything is local and yet TASTES AMAZING!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good burger and wanting to support local businesses. I truly think this place should be rated at a 90% not in the 50's
My Mac and cheese burger wasn't very cheesy at all, but the burger was delicious. Waitress told us about new taco fries. Ordered those to share; THE BOMB! Friend wanted the banh mi, but they are "out of pork, and may take it off the menu". She was disappointed but liked her other choice. Will be bringing my bf here.

I've been to Market Burger 3 times since it first opened- and each visit gets better. I tried the Mac n Cheese burger my 1st visit (loved it), so I couldn't help but get it my 2nd and 3rd visit also. I've had the hickory (skinny) fries, frings and onion rings with their homemade ketchup and the Honey Jalepeno Mint sauce- all so delicious! I've heard great things about the Desi burger, Butter Chicken burger and poutine from friends and family. It's a cool looking place with a really nice atmosphere. Service was better with each visit also! I love that the meat is hormone/antibiotic free and you can tell and taste that you're eating real beef- not some weird mix of who knows what. I'll definitely be back- often! P.S. I don't understand most of the bad reviews- some seem so ridiculous you have to believe they're made up. Try it for yourself.
Good food, reasonable prices. Four of us ate at Market Burger last night. Given the mixed reviews the place has received lately, we were included to expect the worst. So we were pleasantly surprised at the interesting menu, tasty food, and reasonable prices. The restaurant prides itself on serving locally-sourced ingredients. You can select from several pre-configured burgers on the menu, or design your own, by choosing a patty (beef, bison, chicken, or veggie), bun, cheese, condiments, and sides. Highlights for us were the deep-fried dill pickles, bacon-poutine with fried egg on top, and the (alcoholic) banana milkshake. Service was friendly and helpful if not especially fast. Definitely recommended, and we will go again.

Better than expected!. After reading all the negative reviews here about Market Burger, I was a bit weary of eating there but figured I would give it a shot anyway. And I'm glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered the Movemburger, a pulled pork burger in support of Prostate cancer. It didn't come with the cute little moustache cut out on top like all of the pictures I had seen and the pork was sort of mushy and not very flavourful which was a bit disappointing. The side of frings (fries and onion rings) however was huge and towered over my burger. The homemade "ketchup" to go along was sweet and reminded me of ketchup chips. I also ordered a Chocolate Raspberry milkshake which was absolutely delicious! It literally tasted like a liquid viva puff cookie!
There was only one waitress working but service was fast and she was very attentive and came around regularly to fill our water and such.
The decor was neat and vintage. I liked the chalkboard detailing the backstories of all the ingredients, however I agree with another poster's review about the use of the word "local" being overkill. We get it, everything is local. I can't say I'm surprised though, from listening to Hot 103 for years, I know how much co-owner Ace Burpee loves our province and that really shines through in the restaurant. The ladies washroom was worth mentioning too, it was like walking into a 1960's living room time warp.
It wasn't a cheap burger run at $40 for two of us but overall it was a fun experience, and I will definitely be back to try some of the other burgers and the patio once its nice out again.
Where are the bad reviews coming from???. So I ate here this past week despite the reviews saying service was slow and food mediocre. I was very pleased with my decision to give Market Burger a chance. I was was in, greeted, seated and served with no delays; enjoyed a wonderful pakistani cuisine inspired burger that took me back to my trip to the middle east and out the door in a total time of approximately 40 minutes... Outstanding. I asked the ladies about the bad reviews and they said they had not forseen their instant popularity on opening this summer (thus the service). Well they certainly have a handle on things now. If you are one of the people who was disappointed this summer I highly recommend going back, I know I will be!
Absolutely amazing!! Visited for the first time last night and it was delicious! Our sever was amazing, she informed us of all the specials as well as recommended some of her favourite items! I order the movemburger! A burger special for November. It was a pulled pork on a brioche bun with mozzarella and many other great toppings! It was delicious! Pork was very tender and full if flavour! We also ordered the frings (half fries half onion rings) they were very fresh and hot and perfectly sailed! They went great together with the chipolte mayo! We also ordered a Oreo milkshake as well as a pumpkin spice which were given to us on the house and made fresh to order! The milkshakes were the perfect thinkness and very tasty! Overall our experience was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommended!
This place could be okay, but the people working here are much too concentrated on maintaining their image and "being cooler than everyone else" to provide proper or even mediocre service. There is no genuine concern for their customers because they honestly believe they are too good for everyone else, meanwhile we're the source of their paycheques. If the food lived up to any expectations, the service/horrible attitudes might be slightly overlooked...but just overall awful.
Yumm!. Just got back from Market Burger, and it was great! Yummy burger (I chose the 'make your own' option), Yummy poutine with shoestring fries (The gravy was amazing), and good onion rings!
Service was slow, it took quite a while for us to have our order taken, but the food came out relatively quickly, was and was nice and hot.
There was one guy sitting at the bar who seemed to work there (as he kept going behind the counter) but he wasn't really doing anything, even though the one waitress working probably could have used some help making drinks. Service would have been quicker if she had some help at the bar, I think.
Otherwise though, food was great, good atmosphere, decent price as well, since you get quite a bit of food.
Would definitely go back!
I went to Market Burger expecting the worst because of the low rating on here but was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was. Not only was the food tasty and hot, but the server we had was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend to all and I will be back!

After reading several less-than-favourable reviews, I was prepared for anything at this joint. I was quite impressed with the dedication to locally sourced food. And... It was delicious! I loved the fries, especially with that house-made ketchup (which others on here didn't enjoy because it didn't taste like Heinz - best reason to have it, IMO). The burgers were interesting. I had the sliders, which allowed me to discover which of the three most popular burgers was my favorite. The Ban Mi was lovely, but I would have liked a bit more zip to it. The Desi was great, but my dining mate couldn't handle the amount of cilantro toppings. But the best by far was the Mac n Cheese burger! First bite was cheesy and warm, perfect for fall. Then I but in further and got to the ketchup - as someone who never puts ketchup on her mac and cheese, I have been newly converted. This burger was full of flavour. And their dipping sauces! We tried the Honey Jalapeño Mint dip, which was an interesting alternative to a Honey Garlic sauce. I'd go back again multiple times to try other combinations- it sounds like they would make it however you ask, so I may put that Honey Jalapeño Mint sauce on a bison patty with blue cheese... Mmmmmm

Went here with my husband and Mom and we all got the chili burger and it was super delicious! We also shared some menno fries and I can say thee Mennonites all approved. The price was completely reasonable and comparable to other similar restaurants. Love love love the locally grown aspect of it. Yum yum yum.
Cool Place!. My Wife took me here for my Birthday dinner last night. We had a good meal. I had the Mac and cheese burger, poutine and she had the sample plate of the three burgers and a house salad. It was good. service was good. I think we will be back. Its good to see a restaurant that is so proud to be from Manitoba. The presentation was not appetizing in that it was put in a white plastic bag and then tied close to the burger. Really they should put the burger in a nice cardboard box in a paper bag. Presentation is huge in take out. I thought the burger was good, although I won't hurry back anytime soon.
Friendly Manitoba?. I've read the reviews, sat idly by and heard the buzz (both good and bad) and finally decided I'd give this booming burger joint a try. To me, it's simple: great food, great people, great story. Before we all hit the keyboards and tear this unpretentious place apart, let's consider what this restaurant stands for. It's more than just a restaurant; this place and it's people serve as a platform to celebrate Manitoba and all it has to offer. Locally grown products, homemade food - the kind we all grew up eating - and a building put together by local people - that's what this place is. Those who tear it apart should be ashamed. I thought this was "Friendly Manitoba" not "whinny Manitoba".
Loved it. Great patio and atmosphere! Burgers are fresh, and everything is made from local places in Manitoba. Gluten free choices for buns, which I loved. Manitoba made beers, even added to the local feel. Been 4 times and will be back. I've tried the chili burger, the Mac and cheese burger, and a recent addition grilled cheese burger. All unbelievable.
Delicious!!. Went last night with my hubby and we both thought it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the mac n' cheese burger and didn't want to put it down. We also split an order of poutine and even though I was completely stuffed from the burger, I really didn't want to share the poutine after I had a bite.... so I gobbled that up too. This place has a great vibe and our waitress was friendly and made sure to check on us if she noticed our drinks low and to make sure everything was tasty! So to sum it up... This is my new favorite place to grab a bite to eat.
Mac and Cheese Burger All the Way!. The burger was fantastic! I have never been a huge fan of Unburger because I find their patties tasteless and dry but Market Burger's patties are juicy and the meat is full of tons of flavor while still keeping a unique atmosphere much like Unburger. The milkshakes aren't all that great but their curry mayo is delicious as are their onion rings. I would go back again very soon!
What a great atmosphere! Everything about the vibe is inviting. Very cool decor and the roof top patio looks awesome. It was a little chilly the day we went so we are inside.
I decided to try one of their specialty burgers and I had the Mac and cheese burger with a breakfast poutine to share with my date who had a desi burger.
The burgers came out on wooden boards with what looked like butcher paper lining it. Very rustic, and simple but very cool presentation. The Mac and cheese burger made me feel like a little kid! The breakfast poutine was great, but I'm a sucker for bacon and Anything covered with egg yolk so that's a given. My date thoroughly enjoyed her desi burger witch a s take on a Pakistani flavoured burger.
It's great to see that they are promoting locally sourced products and the selection and combinations are very impressive.
I definitely will have to come back soon to try some more!

Delicious but pricey. Have been twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch, went there when they first opened and expected kinks. Service was slower but that happens when you first start.
Started with the build-a-burger and a side order of fried pickles. Beef was well done without being dry, ordered it "skinny" and the "skinny" bun was fresh and flavourful. Enjoyed it. Fried pickles were also good, hand-breaded, but pricey at $5 for four pickles.
For dinner, went again and ordered the Mac N Cheese burger and fries. Mac N Cheese burger was stupendous, especially loved the chipotle ketchup to give it a kick. Wife ordered a bison burger and onion rings and a milkshake. She enjoyed her burger, but her onion rings were ridiculously priced - $6 for 6 onion rings? Are you kidding me?
Also pricey are the condiments on the side. Ordered a chipoltle mayo for the onion rings and it was very bland - and a whopping $1.75 for a tiny little portion of the stuff. Also delicious but pricey was the milkshake she ordered - again, very small for the $5.75 price tag.
Neither of us liked the homemade ketchup all that much. Too sweet. Lay off the sugar, or give people the option of a sweet or regular ketchup.
Summary: Excellent food, but a bit pricey.
Great place. This place is great! They are still very new and making things better everyday. A lot of issues in the negative reviews I'm sure will be worked out. But I have been twice and both times it was great food and great service. A little expensive but you get what you pay for.. it costs more for local organic food.

My husband & I wanted to eat at Market Burger We both chose Bison and were not disappointed The homemade ketchup is just wonderful The staff were very helpful and we also chose a local beer which was excellent as it did not have any corn syrup (bad stuff for you) It was lovely to eat upstairs on the roof top and it got really busy before we left Good luck folks
Went for the first time today for lunch. The decor is funky and eclectic. I appreciated the emphasis on being "local" from the manitoba calendar of community events to the jennifer jones paraphernalia. We couldn't ask for better service. We didn't wait long for the food and the server was very attentive. He actually turned down the music when he saw our infant in tow. The emphasis on local carries over to the food with every ingredient having a brief explanation of where it originates. The combinations are endless and the "preset" burgers sound amazing and I'm looking forward to trying more. The prices are comparable to other restaurants (fast food aside). The fries were great, seasoned to perfection and super hot. The house ketchup was a nice touch and was really flavourful. I found the burgers moist but not greasy. I highly recommend the chipoltle ketchup. Keep up the good work!
Great service. Amazing food. They did such a good job of mixing flavors that you wouldn't even think to put together. Food came out really quick and the atmosphere is awesome.

Fantastic!. I don't know what restaurant the other reviewers went to but this place was amazing! I am wondering if maybe they were working out some kinks because they are new?
To start off the decor is great, we sat inside, they support local food producers and they offer local antibiotic and hormone free meats! They also offer vegan and vegetarian and raw options, which is so nice. I love Boon burger but only people who enjoy vegan foods will go with me...which is a select few friends! It is nice to have options for all!
The food was great. I actually had a plain burger, no bun, with onions and tomatoes with no condiments and while I expected just a plain old burger I found it to be melt it your mouth moist and very flavourful. My husband had the bison burger with curry mayo, chipotle ketchup (amazing), mustard, sauteed mushrooms and sauteed onions on a multigrain bun. His was fantastic as well. The fries were great as was the homemade ketchup.
Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and our food came out very quickly. Again this could be due to the fact that some of the kinks have been worked out.
Great food, great prices, great atmosphere, great concept and good on them for supporting local. I will be doing the same and eating there often!

Good But Not Great. I had heard about this recently opened Corydon Avenue restaurant and decided to give it a try for lunch.
I sat on the main floor of the place. Another option is the rooftop patio. I didn't go up there, but from the ground I could see that it was very crowded up there.
The main floor has a very rustic atmosphere. The walls are exposed wood and there are a number of wooden tables and mismatched wooden chairs. The menu is shaped like the province of Manitoba. There is a board on the wall that tells you where they source various ingredients and menu items. I thought this was a nice touch.
The waiter was professional, but not overly friendly. He did have a good knowledge of the menu. My order took quite some time to arrive, over 20 minutes after placing my order.
The menu features a number of gourmet style burgers as well as a build a burger concept. Most burgers are $8.50, but there are menu options from $8-$10. Side orders are a bit pricey. A side order of fries is $4. I went with "frings" a combo of onion rings and fries. The fries were pretty average. They weren't soggy, but they weren't very crisp. The onion rings, however, were very good. The breading was very crispy which yielded a very satisfying crunch. I went with the build a burger option. One picks the type of patty which gives options of various meats or vegetarian choices. There are about four different types of buns to select from. You then pick from a list of condiments. They have the usual toppings plus a few less common choices. For instance, there are three types of mustard to pick from (yellow, dijon, grainy beer mustard). You then get to pick two toppings from another list which includes such choices as onions, mushrooms, bacon, jalapeno and the like.
I picked the beef burger on a multi grain crusty bun and had double bacon for my toppings. The burger patty isn't huge...it is a decent size though, 6 ounces. The hamburger patty didn't have a lot of seasoning, but it had a good flavour. The bun was large, a bit oversized, but I enjoyed the fresh crusty roll. The order of frings wasn't too large. I kind of expected more of a sider order for $6. They put a good sized portion of bacon on my burger. The bacon had a good flavour and wasn't overly fatty. It was cooked just right as it had some crispness to it. I had a red velvet cake cupcake for dessert. They are sourced from the Lilac Bakery. It was very good. It was a dense but moist cake with a plentiful creamy creamcheese frosting.
At $3.50 their soft drinks are amongst the most expensive of any restaurant in the city. I opted to have water. The water pitcher has slices of cucumber in it. It was a refreshing take on table water.
Overall, I was satisifed and would go back. The burger is not the best in the city...but it is still quite good.
Look out UnBurger. I had the chili burger and bacon poutine, both were delicious, I tasted my wife mac n cheese burger and menno poutine, again both were good, another great local burger place
Nice roof top patio. I've eaten on the roof top patio twice now and enjoyed it on both occasions. Burger ingredients are very tasty and there's plenty of options to choose from when building your own burger. Service is friendly.
Although I have no problem with the food quality, I do feel the food quantity is somewhat lacking given the price. Overall though, I'd go back.
I went to this place last night with my boyfriend and his dad, and I gotta say this place was very friendly and had great service! I loved the fact that there were vegan options and also gluten free! It was also at good prices and everything was really good! I will most likely go back!
I would recommend this to anyone. You can pick a different style of burger to fit your taste and even build your own which is awesome. The beef in the burger was so good and it is actually the first time I didn't feel like I was eating sketchy beef. I had the Mac and cheese burger and it was something totally different. I really enjoyed it. The desi burger is also really good according to others I went to market burger with. The Hickory fries with the honey and jalapeño dip sauce was amazing. I like how they have options you can't get anywhere else. Ill be going back for sure.
Amazingly good food. Everything was good quality and it was nice knowing it was all local.
Had a build your own burger using a bison patty and gluten free bun. The meat was well seasoned and properly cooked, not dry at all.
As us expected, the gluten free bun had some problems holding together but that didn't surprise or upset me.
Plan on going back often, definitely my go to burger place.
Butter Chicken Burger!. This place is a must try if you like Asian food. Where else can you get a butter chicken burger, a Bahn Mi burger ( similar to a delicious vietnamese sub) and the desi burger ( a spicy burger with cilantro and jalepeno) ? I've actually had all 3.
My brother tried the build your own burger and was really impressed. Recommended !
Corydon Revitalized. I've been waiting for Market Burger to open for some time and once I went I was not disappointed. I ordered the mac and cheese burger, a poutine and a milkshake. Everything was delicious and the service was great! I was impressed with the local shake especially because I did not know we had a local icecream producer ,who truly makes magical icecream. The burgers are juicy without being greasy and the matchstick fries were insanely crispy even though they were covered in delicious gravy.
Inside, there is a real unique feel to the place. Beautful art, wood and lights grace the walls and even the bathrooms are beautiful. Everthing is local so if you want to get a real taste of Manitoba, try Market Burger!
Winnipeggers are a secretively proud bunch, and this spot hits all the right buttons. Locally sourced everything. Meat ground fresh everyday. Diverse and obscure menu selections, and the only roof top patio on Corydon worth a damn. Well done Market Burger, I shall return.
This seems like it will be a great place to go when burger and fries are what we crave. The service was very good. The "Build Your Own" burger section of the menu is very satisfying - lots of selection. I had a bison burger with blue cheese, jalapeño relish, tomato and bacon. It was excellent. I also had the basic poutine, which was pretty good - I will order it again. Another nice side that was shared at our table was fried pickles - they were good.
I will definitely be going back to this place. Maybe next time I will go up to the patio.

Great start.. Had an opportunity to enjoy this place for lunch today and despite a few stumbles I left really impressed.
Considering how much talk has been going around about this place for months it was not surprising that they were packed on Friday for lunch. As another review already mentioned the food can take a while to come out however the attentive service definitely made up for that. Considering the menu choices once the kitchen gets more experience with the menu and customer flow the timing will definitely improve.
As for the food, I had the much talked about Mac and Cheese burger with a side of Frings (half orders of fries and onion rings). The burger tasted excellent with one side note being that the mac and cheese doesn't like to stay inside the bun so it becomes a bit of a knife and fork deal.
My biggest surprise was tasting the ketchup. I think it was the first time I have ever had freshly made ketchup and not the factory kind that every other resturant seems to offer. It was definitely enjoyable.
Even with the little bumps considered I will definitely be back.
A great place for burgers!. A great place for anyone who's looking for exciting food and friendly staff. They have unique menu items, including a build your own burger. I'll go back often.
The burger came with fresh lettuce and tomato. The burger was tasty and well put together, patty was juicy and cooked.
