Nice place to grab fresh sushi meal on the go. They also have tables for sit in customers. Busy place but fast and friendly service. Be back if in the area.
The other day I was underground at Portage and Main and decided I would make a stop for lunch at Seoul Nami which sits in the rotunda between Winnipeg Square and the Richardson building. Seoul Nami offers a really good Miso soup, though with the odd price of $1.67. There has been a lot of talk recently about possibly re-opening Portage and Main to pedestrian traffic. Moving to Winnipeg in 1980, I’ve only known a closed corner. Meanwhile, the underground has been part of my life at various times. I worked at Henry Armstrong’s in Winnipeg Square and banked at the TD branch undergound at the intersection. My first regular coffee place was the Second Cup that was open there at one time. I’ve stopped at the food court at Winnipeg Square for late lunch on several occasions.
Excellent Take out Sushi!. I think this sushi take out store in the best in downtown ! fresh Salmon, and Tuna! Very friendly staffs and gluten free also brown rice sushi , too!
So many different kinds of sushi boxes everyday freshily made.
The same prices for a few years. I always enjoy going here!
Good quality. I generally phone in to order for pickup during lunch to ensure I have the freshest sushi. Generally they have always been able to get my order ready in under 10 minutes. The prices are reasonable and the fish is firm and smells fresh. The selection could be larger however it is large enough that I am never bored with the place.
Now with brown rice sushi!. I think this place is pretty good for a pre made, quick lunch. Don't expect a super fancy meal, buying prepared sushi is never quite as good as having it freshly rolled, but Seoul Nami do there best to have things restocked regularly. I usually go with the veggie sushi there and now I can get them with brown rice. It is quite good and holds together well. My only complaint is that the brown rice yam rolls are so monstrously large! I would prefer smaller rolls, and maybe mix them with another veggie roll too. Overall, quick and convenient and tasty too.
Not bad. I've grabbed lunch from their "ready to go" display cooler a few times. There's a good variety in the ready made. The rolls are good, fillings are plentiful and the rice is nice. At lunch there is usually a package or two of sashimi ready to go too (the guy is constantly fiddling in there to keep stock fresh). Sashimi pieces aren't enormous, but a good size.
Overall it's good place for a quick sushi fix, especially considering it's a tiny place in an underground mall.
I would skip the seaweed salad though - the dressing is a little too sweet and doesn't really have quite the right flavour.
