This spot deserves full marks. I was a walk in to go order, the dining room was packed. There were 3 orders in front of me. I was promptly served under 8 minutes. Staff was very polite, and prompt. The cheeseburger was seasoned perfectly, bun was fresh. I will recommend, and return.
Very nice people that work here, you can call in your order and have it ready for pickup in ten minutes every time! I uploaded a picture of their menu to make it a bit easier. You can also ask for the special: fatboy, fries and drink. Good greasy meal for less than 10$.
Some of the best fries in town.
Wonderful food along with wonderful people who run the place, always very friendly! I suggest getting the fat boy or the chicken souvlaki pita.
employees are always very friendly and kind! I'm obsessed with the milkshakes . and the burgers mmmmmm. it's never too busy prices are a little on the steep side but worth it!
I used to come here with friends all the time In my high school days so when my dad suggested George's...I thought heck ya! So went here for lunch with mom and dad yesterday. Dad ordered a double cheeseburger and mom and I ordered chicken souvlaki pita. We shared fries which was a large portion, plenty for the three of us to share. The fries were very tasty along with the gravy. Yum!
The chicken souvlaki pita with onion, tomato, tzaziki and chicken were pretty good. The tzaziki is very garlicky but I don't mind garlic so it was ok for me. For some I could see it being a bit too much. If you order just make sure you have some gum or mints on hand :)
The staff were friendly and although I enjoyed it, it's probably not a good idea to eat there everyday :) ... And yes I can understand others saying it would be perfect to nurse a hangover here.
Happy with service and the food. 3.5-4/5
Much better than the Ness location. Fast, and very friendly. No complaints :)

The few times I've gone it was good. The portions were large. If you are looking for good hangover food, this is the place to go. They have really good burgers but they're heavy and greasy. The mozza fries have a lot of gravy which make the fries quite soggy. The service was good. Parking there isn't the easiest to get in sometimes because it's such a small parking lot.
Been going here for YEARS & YEARS now. And, I always love my fresh home-made burgers served fresh & fast (and the incredible family run service). The fries are one of the best made /cooked home-made style in town and so are their onion rings. I also love their amazing foot-long Chili Cheese-Dog with Bacon too. W@W, that is one amazing foot-long dog! Always happy with my meals and never any issues. GREAT PLACE! (5-Stars).
The best burger joint in all of Winnipeg. Exceptional people behind the counter. Very tasty food. Fries get a 10/10. Restaurant hasn't changed in a long time, but I feel it adds character to the entire establishment. I highly suggest this slice of west end history.
Best Fatboy in Wpg!. Their burgers are simply delicious. They come with just the right amount of chili, onions, mustard and mayo. The giant hamburger buns are never stale. Their homemade fries are perfectly cooked with a golden brown crispy texture and you get lots. I always go for the fatboy, fries and soft drink combo meal as its a real bargain. For under $8.00 you can't beat it for the amount you get. Bring your appetite - You'll need it!
Great hole in the wall diner. I come here a lot. The folks who work there are always friendly and respectful. The french fries and onion rings are excellent, some of the very best in the City. The burger is a classic Winnipeg style burger with chili. Portions are large, the ingredients are simple but fresh. I really enjoy breakfast which is ample and very affordable. The hashbrowns seem to be chopped up french fries which are quite tasty. My only wish is that they would buy better quality eggs (this would however drive up the cost).
On behalf of the staff and owners of Georges Burgers and subs we could like to apologize for inappropriate comments made by individuals that were wrongly and unfairly made to look like they came from all our locations. We would like it to be known that Georges Burgers at 904 portage avenue is in no way associated with these comments and this individual other than the use of the name. Each restaurant is privately owned. We love and appreciate every one of our customers and are truly saddened that our good name has been dragged into this unfortunate mess. We know that our beloved customers who have known us the past 20 years will continue to support us and spread the word that we are in no way involved. We thank you.
I have been eating at this location for many years. The food is fantastic and the couple that run it have always been kind and generous with portions.
This location is not owned by George, but a privately owned franchise. The recent story in the news was based on a quote from one particular owner at Winnipeg's St. Mary's Road location.
The owners of the Portage Avenue location have no problems with and are friends of Winnipeg's gay community.
I spoke with them today over lunch. They are concerned about being misrepresented. They love and value all of their customers regardless of beliefs and backgrounds.
I support them and love the food they serve.

You gotta try it if you have not yet ! Staff were very friendly. The best fries I've ever had ! And their chili, man, the best ! We were still there and already talking about when we will come back .
Nice, big, well under $5 fat boy from a friendly server. I will be back!
Love It !!. I love this place !
They have the best tzatziki sauce with lots of garlic !
(yummy gyros and chicken souvlaki pitas)
The best fries and gravy in town hands down.
The burgers are great too, though I don't have one too often.
Staff are also always friendly.
Great staff, great food, greasy spoon decor. If you are on a diet, STAY AWAY!
