Their lemon raspberry cake has been my favorite for years. Well, I finally tried something new and went for their Zuccotto slice. HEAVEN! I didn't even know that it was gluten free. This bakery has the most gourmet cakes and desserts I have tried in Winnipeg... by far!

Betty and her team did a fantastic job on creating our cupcakes for our baby shower. The cupcakes were delicious and was just right. The buttercream frosting with coconut, banana and sprinkles were perfect. I would recommend using this bakery for special events.

Chocolate Zen made our dream wedding cake in 2003, and their cakes have been part of many family celebrations since (5 weddings and many birthdays and other special occasions). I highly recommend Chocolate Zen if you are looking for "WOW" factor cakes that taste great. Quaint coffee/chocolate cafe with a stunning showcase of bakery items; most with chocolate. Extremely difficult to make a decision as to what to try. Brought home 7 items and enjoyed one there with a satisfying cup of freshly brewed coffee. Can't wait to try more!

The chocolate cupcake was very good. Their cupcakes are freshly baked everyday. Service was a bit slow during my visit and there was no person at the counter I have to notify them and wait. Parking can be a challenge.

The Chocolate Zen torte is deliciously decadent! It just might be my new go-to for chocolate cravings. I just wish they were open in the evenings as it would be a great place to pick up dessert after dinner.

Stopped into this cute little bakery this afternoon. Good selection of delicious little treats and pastries. Ended up getting a salted caramel macaroon and it was delicious. The filling was the perfect blend of creamy sweet and salty. Could have been a bit more fresh but I guess that depends on the time of day you go. They also sell their leftover egg whites for cheap, which is awesome!

Yum!!! I picked up dessert here on Saturday to have for Mother's Day. I chose the Chocolate Zen cake and the chocolate raspberry cake. The Zen cake was my favourite of the two. It was so creamy and well I'm a huge chocolate lover so this one really hit the spot. Cute little shop, will definitely be coming back for more!

I had a coconut macaroon there and it was the best one I have ever had. We split it in to fours and savoured it over the next 2 days lol. It was amazing.

Amazing. Got my wedding cake made there five years ago. Ever since this is my little heaven on earth. I get their hand crafted chocolates for hubbie every anniversary. they have baked goods that are sinful: apricots loaf, lemon raspberry cake, cherry cheesecake chocolate brownie and so much more. They are the best without any doubt in the city. Excusite and beautiful. Lovely staff and unparalleled service.

Ordered a strawberry cream cake. Understandable they only had a standby cake as I had called on weekend when they are closed sun/mon. But I was never told on mon morning when they called that the cake would be incomplete. (Cake is supposed to have strawberries on top) disappointing. 4-5 hrs you think you'd be able to grab some strawberries down the street. Should you not have some ingredients in hand anyway? Regardless I ended up paying $50 for a vanilla cake with light "strawberry" cream.

Cute neighbourhood bakery. I live about a block from this bakery so it's always nice to drop in and grab a treat on the way back home. I don't eat gluten so I appreciate the different options they have. I've bought the chocolate and plain croissants, the cherry and chocolate cheesecake, the macarons and the chocolate and vanilla coconut macaroons (the gluten containing ones for my husband). We've enjoyed everything but our favourites are the chocolate macaroons. Yummmmmm!!

Heavenly Cakes. Whereas Serena didn't like her wedding cake, my experience has been the very opposite!! I have been involved in planning many events, including the celebration of birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, and yes, a wedding!!!! Rude. I was treated awfully by a woman who works there. I'm not sure of her name but she had black hair. Very rude and not very accommodating. The cake was good but the way she spoke to me was just nasty. Not worth it!

I think they freeze their cakes because mine tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer for too long. Or freezer burnt as some like to call it.

Very messy work. I ordered a fondant cake for my daughters birthday and there was white dust all over the cake and it was all bumpy. The cake looked a lot better when I only took a quick glance. Not worth the money.

I can not celebrate my birthday without Chocolate Zen cake !. This is the place to order your cake. I found chocolate zen last 3 years ago .. since then we ( me.. my boyfriend, my friends, my family and so forth) usually order our cakes from there. I have recommended a brunch of other friends and whoever asked me to recommend best cake shop from Winnipeg. <br/>28 $ for 6" is not expensive at all !! Taste is soooo good. Not so heavy.. not so light .. not soo sweet.. It is just perfect.<br/>Cakes and pastries that they sell in store are cheap too.A slice of cake is around 3 $ and coffee is around 1$ .

Yummy baked goods. I accidentally found this bakery while doing business next door. I tried a few yummy treats and each one was as good as the other. The almond tart was delish. The breads and other pastries are also good and sometimes if you go in the morning, the breads from the day before are marked down half price.
