Jeanne's Bakery cakes have been a part of our family's birthday celebrations for many decades and a number of generations. Everyone has their fav flavors but top one has always been chocolate. The moistness of the cake, the perfect cookie bottom and the not overly sweet icing is a must for most birthdays in the family!! I'd recommend this bakery to anyone and they definitely have many other baked items to satisfy anyone's cravings.

I love the Banana flavour. The shortbread base is to die for. It has been a favourite for at least 30 years.
Jeanne's cake is the best! It's been a tradition in my family for years! Always have it on my birthday which is on the 24th! Cant wait! Wouldn't have any other cake! Love it!
Jeanne's cakes are my favourite!! The chocolate curls, cookie bottom and mmmm the flavour!! I'm not a fan of overly sweet baking and Jeanne's cakes are perfect. The icing is silky and not overly sweet and the cakes are well balanced with flavour! The banana cake is my personal favourite � I won't settle for any other cake!
We purchased a marble Jeannie's Bakery birthday cake last week. The four grandkids, aged 4 to 8, attempted to rip off and eat all the chocolate curls before the cake was barely out of its box. I had to beat them off with a birthday candle! Once they were all settled with their very own piece of Jeannie's cake, they devoured it, declared it delicious and demanded a Jeannie's Bakery cake for their respective birthdays. And so the Jeannie's Bakery birthday cake tradition begins with a new generation. Thank you Jeannie's Bakery for making our birthday celebrations special.
Always a go-to favourite!! It’s unlike any other!!! Not overpoweringly sweet, simply perfect!! Flavourful and moist cake, delicious cookie base, and the icing and chocolate shavings or coconut finish are, well - the icing on the cake!!
I have had Jeanne's cakes for my birthday for as long as I can remember. It's still a tradition in our family. We always had a few rules such as the fact that birthday person got the end piece; and no dedicating the cake by going for the other one. I also discovered (at I'm not sure what age) that Jeanne's birthday cake makes a great breakfast!!!
Our family has enjoyed Jeanne's Bakery cakes for almost 60 years. Birthdays and anniversaries, and sometimes...just because cakes were always from this Winnipeg establishment!
Growing up, birthdays were not birthdays without a Jeanne's Cake. In general I am not a cake person because they are usually overly sweet. Jeanne's cakes are just the right amount of sweet to enjoy after a great Birthday meal.
My brother and I got a Log Cake every birthday since the early sixties.... now aging out on the coast I really miss this tradition... and am so sorry our boys have not had the pleasure with the same regularity as we enjoyed, being we are in Surrey BC ... ya really have to get something going cross country... omg... PLease :D

Love the banana log cake. Great for any occasion! The new flavours are good also, especially the candy cane cake at Christmas!
Their cakes are so delicious, especially the cookie part!! You’re also not supposed to put it in the fridge or else it will get dry. If there’s anything I could say to improve on, it would be the designs maybe? Other than that, I probably would be very happy if they made my wedding cake
I've been eating these cakes for 40 years. I moved to Toronto 20 years ago and I bring a cake back every time I visit. Jeanne's cakes are unlike any other I've ever tasted, they store well and they are clearly made with fresh ingredients.
You won't find your sugar icing variety here, it's creamy and smooth and perfectly proportioned to the actual cake. The cake itself is soft and not sugary and the cookie crust bottom? Well, that in itself makes this cake worth trying.

Unique Winnipeg Institution. Can't get enough of Jeanne's Cake. The icing is perfect, not too sweet and like velvet in your mouth, and a nice contrast to the rich dark chocolate shavings. I always save the crisp cookie bottom for last; simply heavenly! The price has gone up and the round cakes seem smaller but I'd pay any price to enjoy the best cake in Winnipeg.
Great cakes!. I ordered a Jeanne's cake for my dad's 60th birthday. I decided on a picture cake, and it turned out great! We usually get marble, but tried banana this time, and it was a hit! Our family loves Jeanne's cakes! The freshness and quality is outstanding every time!
50 th birthday Go big or Go home. Ever since I was born , I always had a Jeannes cake. I love eating this cake for any occasion. I have found that the recipe has changed over the years but I have had nastier cakes. One place I would not order again is from Cake ology. You want an overpriced and dry cake and tasteless icing go there. Jeannes will always be my cake of choice. And the cookie was always hard thats what is so great. I also recommend eating it slightly frozen with French Vanilla Ice Cream . Its the bestest. I am getting the biggest one I can get and freezing whatever is left over for a rainy day . mmmmgoooooood
A truly unique cake. Everyone knows what a jeannes cake is and people either LOVE it or hate it. I enjoy the cake, the cake itself can be a bit dry sometimes but the creamy not too sweet icing and shortbread bottom are the BEST, plus for chocolate lovers the chocolate shavings on every cake are delicious!
An Institution, but not the kind that sucks. I ask for a Jeanne's cake every year for my birthday. It's all about the shortbread cookie on the bottom!

I have loved Jeanne's since I was a kid couldn't wait for a birthday we would get a Jeanne's cake for all of our family birthdays I'll be fifty this year and will be having my 50th Jeanne's cake for my birthday ( I love them anytime of the year ) thanks for all the wonderful cakes and memories that go with them

Ok this is definitely a testament to this bakery. 40 plus years ago I ordered a Birthday cake. I cant even remember for who now. Could have been my sister as I do know she recommended it. Truly was amazed at how good it was. I moved shortly after to Brandon and then to BC. Yet recently when someone asked me where to get a good Birthday cake I instantly recalled Jeanne's even though I hadn't thought of the place in years. Great bakeries really do live on in memories.
