Review Panda Tea - Winnipeg

Turbo C
Very disappointed after spending 10 mins waiting on two drinks, with no one in line… and get a drink I can’t even sip up their straw! It was packed full of ice. I have never had such a horribly made slush tea. crunching on ice every sip. My mouth was actually sore and had to stop drinking it. Even after an hour of letting It sit I still had this much ice chunks when I got home so I strained it and poured the drink back in the cup to be able to drink it. Will not be back.

Always great! I normally get their bubble slush teas and I haven't had a flavour I haven't enjoyed. I also like that you can ask for less/more ice or less/more sugar! The new space is nice, though covid has prevented using it since they opened.

Very disappointed! I use to love Panda Tea so much and it's been my family's go-to bubble tea place for 5 years. But the quality started going down when they moved to the new location and started expanding. The staff messed up my drinks at least 3 times, and the wait time is SO long! The mobile ordering page is not very user-friendly - took forever to load. And the points system... I much prefer the old card and stamps system. I wrote so much because it's sad to me! I had so many good memories there. And now it's not the shop I remember.

I’ve been here a few times for slush bubble tea. Tastes great! Always have had quick and great service.

I used to work here and they underpaid me during my training, they paid me cash for $9 an hour because I’m a newcomer and don’t understand the law in Canada. The work environment was dirty, they kept the place that customers see clear, but the inside was gross. The boss was very good at stressing people out, she screamed at staffs and wanted the new staffs memorize the recipes for the whole menu within a week.

Went there for a meeting, & staff is polite & accommodating. The place is clean & comfortable. The bubble tea is great also! 😃🧋

I'm very disappointed in the customer service after waiting over 15 min for a drink, i was unsatisfied with the drink and how unsweetened it tasted I went back and asked for extra sugar or a change in drink but I was denied, its like they don't care about customer satisfaction as compared to other places I've been to! Not worth the money!

I like their expansive selection (especially when they bring out new seasonal flavours to try I.e. the sago milk tea). I’ve been coming here since the day it opened. But throughout the years, they’ve listened to my requests when modifying my drink. I don’t like drinking super sweet boba, and they always listen. They have no problem making things right when they’ve misheard an order and will gladly make a brand new order to your liking.

Some of the drinks I order are coconut milk tea, oolong milk tea or grass jelly milk tea, all with 30% sugar and 70% less ice + herbal jelly added into the mix. I don’t add bubbles because I got tired of it.

In summary, I recommend this place to anyone who wants their first bubble tea experience to be a good one. Enjoy!

The best bubble tea in Winnipeg, their varieties of drink are good and tasty, but almost got me kill because of there had hard plastic in the boba. they stopped giving out the stamp card, it got me less interested to come back

This is probably one of my favorite places in Winnipeg to get boba (other than Chatime). My favorite would probably be the bubble milk tea! Or pudding milk tea or herbal jelly milk tea... so basically, I just love their regular milk tea! I've tried their green milk tea before but I do find that milk tea with a black tea base tastes wayyy better. Their slush drinks are also really good. I do find the milk tea quite sweet compared to other places, but you can always customize the sugar/ice anyways.

I came to this place a few years ago and loved it! Their Taro Slush and Milk Tea was really good, but I ended up loving their Warm Milk Tea the most! After revisiting multiple times, I've had bad experiences. Me and my siblings all got horrible stomach aches and felt sick after drinking our bubble teas. We all got different flavours and adjusted the flavours, so I can't say exactly which ones caused the problems. We didn't believe that Panda Tea was the problem at first so we have it a few more chances and the same stomach issues occured! We could all have very weak stomachs but it's quite unlikely. Another thing after having their bubble tea compared to others like ChaTime or Coco Tea, is that their boba is insanely sweet. I've even lowered the sugar lever to its lowest but I still find it too sweet! I no longer go to Panda Tea to get bubble tea as I've had too many bad experiences with it!

This place has the best ice green tea milk tea! Way better the Starbucks. I crave for this all the time too bad it’s on the other side of the city!

Favourite place to get milk tea! From all the places in Winnipeg where you can get milk tea, this has been my favourite so far. They also have many other drink selections, like their slushed drinks, that are delicious as well!

I thought I would go to Panda Tea today, to give them one last chance before giving up; however, I overheard staff shouting nasty and inappropriate comments in Mandarin about a white customer, behind his back, while he's sitting quietly in the restaurant.

The nasty comments seemed to stem around a broken washroom which the customer apparently used by accident. In any case, I don't think shouting rude comments behind customer's backs is appropriate or excusable behaviour, in any establishment. Also, I don't enjoy listening to loud washroom-related comments in restaurants, while I'm trying to enjoy food or drink. Finally, if there is a problem with their washrooms, perhaps they should fix the washroom, or put better signage, rather than blame their customers, especially since it is the restaurant's responsibility to maintain working clean washrooms. In any case, I was not impressed by the staff's behaviour or spectacle.

The bubble tea is mediocre at best. The flavours are either overpowering or bland (depending on the choice of drink), and the tapioca bubbles are a little too chewy. The only thing positive about this place is that you can choose the amount of ice and sugar in your tea drink. However, I could probably ask for less sugar or ice at any another place, and I'd be very surprised if they refused to accommodate. Thus, I don't feel their service of less sugar or ice is that special.

The presentation of the deserts is quite elegant; however, the deserts themselves are overpriced, and could do with more flavouring. On one occasion, I bought a custard desert from there. The custard container was quite nice, but the custard itself is almost flavourless, and the texture resembled that of hospital jello. Additionally, I am shocked at how much the desert cost, especially for the small size. I would expect something much better or bigger, for the same price.

Overall, I have been to quite a few bubble tea places and coffee shops in Winnipeg, and I would rate my Panda Tea experience as sub-par. In any case, I won't be going there again, nor will I be recommending it to any of my friends.

Been coming to Panda Tea for years. When you come to Panda Tea, be ready to wait in line. I've never seen this small cafe style bubble tea spot with no line. The line is often right to the door. I've order many things from the menu and haven't found one I didn't like yet. Weren't too impressed with their desserts, usually only come here for bubble tea. A regular favorite is lychee slush and double bang passion tea. The red wow milk and milk tea are by husbands favorites.
CocoaNut
My new fave place to get bubble tea! It was refreshing and what real traditional bubble tea should taste like. My go to place used to be Asia City, but the past few times I have been getting some really bad stomach aches from their bubble tea. When you compare both places Asia City's bubble tea tastes more with artifical flavours and at Panda Tea you can taste that hint of tea in the slushes that it should have in it hence "bubble tea". Love love the taste of their bubbles and texture too. @They need to open up another location!
Lora
Agree with previous posters - the "bubbles" are the best so far that I've had among the bubble tea sellers. Not mushy at all! Great flavours!

Phoned this morning to ask if they do have Yakult in stock to be purchased as packs. Unfortunately, the lady said that her manager just instructed them NOT TO SELL YAKULTS in PACKS! as in like REALLY!? That's one of the reasons why we're going to this store and now you're not selling it anymore?! Yes, your milktea's are great but most likely will not comeback if NO YAKULTS are for Sale in PACKS!

#disappointed
#YakultsForSale

One of my favourite places in the city to get milktea. The consistency is really good, and I've loved all the flavours I've tried so far. The prices are VERY good. I was use to spending $5/$6 on tea so it's really nice to get good quality ones for half that price.

Egg pudding in milk black tea was soooooo good!
Here's the thing: my usual dining buddy (boyfriend) like tropical and fruit flavours like lychee, passionfruit, mango, peach, strawberry, etc. and likes jelly in equally fruity flavours. Panda tea is real bubble tea as far as bubble tea goes, but we were kinda disappointed in the lack of "canadianized" fruity flavours. I still enjoyed my egg pudding in milk tea but I'm a bit of a purist.
Allisonafable
Absolutely the bomb! I tried their earl grey milk tea and it was just wonderful! This is a place to go if you're craving for milktea in the middle of the night! Would definitely come back.
Lara
This is the best bubble tea place in the city. They have a bunch of choices but I've always picked the same one - taro slush with pearls. So creamy, so rich! Only one thing that I don't like (or would like them to change a bit?!) is the lady who takes orders was so busy!! She basically did everything - take orders, make teas, cleaning, and sometimes at the back doing some stuff. If they can have more than one person at the store, it would be great to both the staff and customers.

My boyfriend and I's go-to boba place!! I love going here especially when I'm craving some. My favourite one is Caramel Macchiato, to be honest, there's nothing special in it, it just taste like any other caramel macchiato you can get from different stores however I think the reason why I love this flavour is because their bubbles are so delicious, it's not bland at all like the ones from Asia City, it's soft and it has flavour that makes it appealing to my taste buds. However, the lady who was taking the order was speaking so fast about the suggestions and that's what I don't like about it like she was friendly though but when my bf ordered the coconut slush she suggested the milk tea I mean he wants a coconut slush not milk tea. So we just decided to try the coconut milk tea and it taste like cold herb tea, like literally tea. I couldn't taste the coconut either and not to mention their promo is what makes me come back everytime!

I'd recommend this place if you want a high quality bubble tea and they also sell sweets and cakes in store.
Mina
Love their Yakult green tea here!! Place is kinda small and service is usually slow because when I always go here, they either have only one person taking orders/making stuffs, but sometimes they would have 2. I don't mind waiting as long as the product is good and that's what I liked about Panda Tea. Good stuff and hasn't disappoint me so far.

Panda tea is my favorite Boba place in the city. They're consistent with what they serve and they're super fast. They do definitely compare to tea shops in bigger cities like Toronto and Vancouver. Their menu is big so it might take you a while to choose if you're unfamiliar or indecisive (like me) but I'm always satisfied with whatever it is that I order.
Steve Giancarlo Cabiscuelas
one of the best milk tea here in winnipeg.
I ordered Bubble milk tea with add on of coconut jelly. It was very delicious. will be back here soon!😍😍😍😍
KirstiePerry
Their Oolong Milktea is very tasty! Not too sweet for me even if it's 100% sugar, it was just right! I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back next time!
Good_Eats
Tasty teas and delicious slushes. I prefer this place to Chatime, and others. I found the bubbles at Chatime mushy, and their slushes aren't as good. Plus Chatime has no taro!!! 😱. Taro Slush at Panda Tea is one of my favourites on their menu.

I thought Chatime may take away some of Panda Tea's business, but Panda Tea continues to be packed whenever I'm there. That goes to show at the quality of Pandas product.

Best bubble tea in the city. I will gladly drive half way across the city just for Panda Tea. I always get Taro milk tea, no ice, half sugar, add pudding — YUM!
Loveforfood
I love their bubble tea and how you can customize the sugar and ice. Overall this is my favourite bubble tea place, my personal favorite drink there is the Oolong with Herbal Jelly. I also enjoy their Matcha Roll.
HonestEater
Has to be the best milk tea in winnipeg. Their consistency in flavor and texture of the boba/tapioca is great. They make it so that there's a nice chew to it, not soggy like most places and there's a sweetness too. I always order a large with no ice and 75% sugar and it's enough sweetness. Don't really need the ice because the tea is pretty cold and that leaves for more room for the actual drink. So good sometimes a large is almost not enough. It can be a bit pricy because it comes out to over $5 a drink. Worth it though!

Great bubble tea and I appreciate the fact this is the only place in Winnipeg I have seen so far where you can get an ovaltine bubble tea. Hurrah!

I love this place. I came upon Panda Tea by accident, actually. I was in the area and my usual Milk Tea spot was closed. I was with some friends and one of them suggested we go here for they had passed by it a few times before. None of us had ever been to Panda Tea before, so we were quite excited.

The place was empty that time, for it was in the middle of the day, just after lunchtime I believe. The girl at the counter greeted us kindly and asked if we had ever been there before. When answered no, she was kind enough to explain the menu (great menu By the way) and even recommended some drinks based on what we sorts of tastes and flavours we liked!

I got the milk tea with egg pudding with half the sugar. That's the other great thing about this place is that you can choose how much sugar you want added to your drink. From 0%-100%. I supposed they have a set amount of sugar they add, and you get to choose how much of that amount you would like!

For sure, one of the best places to get your Milk Tea fix!

Awesome. Best bubble tea in Winnipeg

Good drink. I love panda tea there especially: herbal jelly milk tea

Coconut Milk Green Tea Bubble Tea. I love coconut and green tea so how great is it they put them together!
The size (L) is perfect, and the bubbles aren't those gross slimey ones you'd find in the mall stores. The atmosphere is warm and cozy.
I'll be coming back for sure

Best Bubble Tea in Town. I love their Bubble Milk Tea. The tea tastes very fresh. Lots of good quality bubbles. In the summer, I love their watermelon bubble tea. So much watermelon and very refreshing. Love it! Always come again and again :)
BlissAndKittens
Best Bubble Tea. I love this place. The drinks are highly customizable so you can get your drink as sweet as you want, as well as with less ice (easier to suck up the bubbles that way). We've been there often and have never had bad service, the staff are always pleasant and efficient. Lots of bubbles in your drink and the tapioca pearls always have the perfect texture. The coconut jelly is good too, I usually get both. The coconut milk tea is delicious.

Amazing. I would recommend everyone try taro milk tea. Mmm

Green tea and chocolate cake!

Pretty awesome. Panda Tea definitely makes the best bubble teas. Their bubble (tapioca pearls) are always cooked to perfect. They allow you to choose how much sugar and ice you'd want. I love their Sat. special; Oolong Milk Tea and their Yakult Milk Tea reminds me of Taiwan. For a while they also have shaved iced bubble tea, which were pretty delish!

Been coming here every week. I must say I'm impressed. Really like the bbt here. One of my fav bbt joints

My Favourite Winnipeg BBT. Panda Tea is my favourite place for bubble tea in Winnipeg, ever since I found this place. I usually get the Bubble Milk Tea with less sugar and I am never disappointed. I recommend it to everyone. I also love the desserts they make. The cakes are light and not too sweet. The sponge cheesecake is my favourite! The owner lady is super nice and I always enjoy my visit here.

Friends come here way too often, even though we live more than 30 min away. By far the best bubble tea place in Winnipeg. Perfect tapioca balls - softeness and chewiness is on point and even has its own flavour. Customize your drink based on how sweet and hot/cold - amount of ice. A lot of Milk teas to choose from! So far my fave is coconut milk green tea. They're Taro slush is unique and delicious. Service - there is one lady that is super polite and quick.

Panda tea was pretty good went there and got myself a honey green tea ... I would recommend this place... Tried other places but panda tea is by far worth your dollar

The real deal. This place has tons of different flavours and u can pick the level of sweetness you prefer. But the best is that they have REAL milk tea and they also have baked goods now. Fast and friendly service. You gotta try it!

Love the boba. And the services and atmosphere is pretty great.

Best Bubble Tea in Winnipeg!. If you are looking for a great place to have Bubble Tea, check out Panda Tea on South Pembina Hwy. Friendly service and amazing products. This is a family owned business that knows what they are doing. Their drinks are amazing, our family especially loves the Mango Slush. They have delicious desserts now too. Can't wait to go back!!

Best Bubble Tea!. Definetely the best bubble tea place I have ever been too! Service is great! Nice seating area also! Love it!
SweetTooth
I have to say, their bubble tea is very good! Very tasty bubble milk tea and wow milk. But the service is horrible. The waitress never smiles and doesn't listen to our recommend of how much ice or sweetness. Every time when we order, all I can feel is her impationce. I would vote "really like it" if their service improves.
Bo Zhang
The service super sucks~

Love this place. This is my favorite bubble tea joint in the city. Highly recommended!!

Best bubble tea in Winnipeg! Green tea milk tea is damn good and great when you are baked
Jacquie
The best milk tea boba I've ever had in Winnipeg! I always come here for my boba fixes. Aside from milk tea, my other favourites are jasmine green tea and yogurt green tea. I'm not a fan of slushies so I can't comment on their slush drinks. They also offer a variety of desserts as well, such as cakes and tortes.
Tatiana Harder
What I like the most about Panda Tea Bubble Tea is that you can choose the amount of sugar you can put in your drink, almost like you can customize your own drink. I love to drink Bubble Tea but I found that other Bubble Tea shops that I have tried make their drinks far too sweet for my liking. Also they have a mote authentic feel with their drinks straight from Taiwan. I recommend Panda Tea to all Bubble Tea lovers.
Ed Chef
Nice drinks and prefect softness from the Tapioca balls and they use milk instead of milk powder, my favourite is wow red bean milk with tapioca balls
FoodieCel
Tried out this place last night. My bf and I got the bubble tea and slush, which the tapiocal ball is warm and too soft in the cool drink. It turned the slush into warm dark sticky drink. Kind of disappointed. I would not come back again.
Jen Peg
Like this place :). Just tried out this place today, I loved the tea, and loved the option of making the tea hot. Will be coming back again for sure!
