Honestly, It is probably one of the best places to go for middle eastern cuisine honestly, their garlic sauce is so goooood. And their beef/lamb isnt just some dry burnt dry meat, is always flavorful and juicy. MUST TRY

I've been meaning to try this place out for a while and finally did. Well worth the wait. we ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and mix platter and Both were very good. Service was decent and the dining space was clean and tidy. Definitely going back to try the other things. Overall 4.5/5

We love the food from Shawarma Khan but trying to get delivery from here is near impossible. Every time my husband and I try to get dinner delivered there's an issue (4+ times!). This last time we called our order in and picked it up. Normally that's not a problem but we have a new baby at home and it would have been so much easier if the food could have been delivered. :(

Bread was falling apart and cracking up as they were assembling it. I should've walked out then, but was tight for lunch. It was edible, filled my stomach and I was full. Maybe when uni picks up again, they will have fresh pita

Owner please train your employee to be polite and gentle towards customers. I came to 10 prior to the closing time (which I didn't know) and the lady at the counter was very rude and wasn't happy about it. A lady customer came after me and the way she was treated was very bad. Both the women at the counter wasn't even responding to her questions . Very humiliating and insulting.

Before I delve into the not-so-great aspects of this restaurant, I want to appreciate the restaurant staff who attended to me. She was very kind and thoughtful. She saw that I liked the salads and decided to give me 10% off. Unfortunately, The quality of this restaurant has deteriorated so much. I spent over $20 on a quick bite here and nothing tastes good! I got the Tabouleh salad thought I would love it but it actually doesn’t taste great. I usually use quinoa as part of my Tabouleh recipe, but I’m not sure what was used as a replacement here at Shawarma Khan. Whatever it was, it is not as tasty as quinoa in a Tabouleh. The chickpea salad is also not great-very salty. Goodness, I’m so disappointed! Worst of all was the shawarma. It was so soggy! I had to open it up and eat it as a meal, but still all that was salvageable was the meat, onions and pickles. The remaining veggies were so soggy. I’ve had Shawarma here before and it wasn’t this terrible. Other places in the city serve better shawarma, I recommend trying others as opposed to this one. It may look tasty but your taste buds would most probably be disappointed.

Had chicken shawaarma for the first time since I'm in Winnipeg. Was expecting much better but it was dry chicken, hard rice, and burnt potatoes. Is it what you call shawarma???

I am unhappy because of the services. The food was so-so. I ordered an 10.99$ kabab plate. But they made a mistake, charged me for 13.49$ as beef plate. Beef plate is larger than kabab plate. I went to my car to eat, and noticed the mistake. I asked for a refund, he gave me 1.5$ coins. I was confused. Even we don't include tax, 10.99+1.5=12.49. So I didn't leave. He gave me another 1$ coin, said this should be enough. So I left, but still unhappy. The small price difference is not so important to me. People make mistake, I understand. But In the end I feel I was treated like a beggar.

The lamb/beef/gristle shawarma is terrible. The chicken was better, but the lamb/beef is flavourless inedible gristle. Staff was friendly, place was clean

This place was actually pretty quiet on a Friday afternoon. Came in for a quick bite and they had everything ready to go! Ordered the beef and lamb platter. Meat looked a tad dry for my liking, but I got them to put extra tahini (sesame sauce) and that really brought out the flavour. They had a really nice beet salad and the tabouleh was good too. The restaurant itself is pretty spartan. Counter service with buffet style warmers/coolers and they build your platter/wrap in front of you. It is very clean, so I will give them that. I feel the staff here are a bit too curt for my liking. For example, I asked what the white sauce was, and they said, "garlic sauce". I asked if it had mayo in it (cause I'm not really a fan) and they said they weren't sure, pushing me to move on rather than genuinely wanting to help me understand what it was. I get it, this is a fast food restaurant and I guess I wouldn't go to Mcdonalds and ask at length what is in Big Mac sauce either, but I just feel perhaps they could be more polite. If you know what you're doing, this place makes some tasty food. I will certainly come back!

Here is the good thing, the location looks beautiful and very clean and the staff were very polite and kind, however, I go to a restaurant to eat food. I went to Shawarma Khan (downtown location) when it first opened and found the food to be a bit off, however, I decided to hold off on a review because I figured growing pains. This past week I went back to give it another go, this time at the Fort Garry location. I ordered a large beef/lamb/chicken platter and was disappointed. The meats were extremely dry and their portion sizes were not the best for a large. The potatoes and rice were alright, the salads weren't very flavorful, and the sauces seemed to be skimped on (still palatable, some even good). I can understand that portion sizes need to correlate to costs, but I was willing to pay more when I ordered the large and came away feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I wish the owner and managers nothing but the best, it's great that Shawarma is becoming more accessible to Manitoba residence, just the execution needs work.

I picked up from here yesterday via Skip-the-Dishes... I was almost 45 minutes late so I called them, and even though they were closing, they had no problem staying late for me to pick up my order. I have never tried any of the Shawarma Khan locations, so I was eager to try many items. I ordered the beet and apple salad, a chicken wrap, a side of falafel balls, and my son tried the beef and lamb wrap. I have never had pickled turnip before and it was truly my favourite thing about the wrap! The meat in both wraps was tender and flavourful, even though it had been sitting waiting for us, for close to an hour. The falafel balls are good and crispy, although they are a bit on the small side and drier than I would make them myself, but very typical of most restaurants that serve them. The only suggestion I would have is that the apple and beet salad would be much better if they were cut julienne style (rather than half sliced), and the ratio of each balanced (mine had way more beets than apple). Over all, I would definitely go back! YUM

We had a terrible experience here. The flavour of the food was okay and the portion size was pretty good for the cost, but the customer service was horrendous. The young lady that served us was absolutely miserable. I understand that people can have off days, but in between customers she was joking around with her coworkers. Then she'd be just as nasty to the next customer. This leads me to believe she really doesn't like her job. Management should manage the customer service aspect of the business and look into this behaviour. I'm sure this sour employee has single handedly driven numerous customers away. Food: 3 stars, service: zer0

Prips

The chicken wrap/pita with chickpea salad was really good. I love the crunchy pita chips as well. Fast friendly service. Will be back for more. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if the place is busy.

Horrible service !!! Ordered the trio plate (chicken beef and lamb). Only got chicken and beef. Asked what kind of salads were the options to the combo, the worker had no idea. Had to ask the worker for the pita that was supposed to come with combo. Food was obviously sitting out all day. As it was already sliced and very dry. Will not return to this location again!
