4.50 for an Americano? Usually two shots everywhere else but here it’s $3 for one shot and add another for $1.50. Huh? Plus their other location serves it for less.
Someone used the word gourmet to describe the food here. I’m pretty sure that individual has never had gourmet food.
The prices are very high considering you can purchase the same types of food, at places with experienced staff who will offer great customer service and efficient service, in a timely manner with food that is cooked by experienced cooks. I can get the same meal, flawlessly at a restaurant that knows what they’re doing. Here it’s like being in a cooking school, where everyone is brand new. It also looks really cheap, poor decor. If the place operates like a normal business in terms of quality expectations, I’d be fine with the prices.
Today I had eggs that weren’t cooked properly, at a dirty table. The eggs were taken back and cooked but differently than I’d requested. I was handed a new napkin that was dirty.
I think they need management with experienced running a successful restaurant. They staff also seem bombarded with take out orders that they’re too busy to offer better service to the tables.
It angers me that the business seems to be surviving off obligatory meal plans by students in residence. Being forced to pay prices that anywhere else offer a standard level of service, and getting much less, is exploiting students.
Being the most sustainable restaurant in Canada is great, forcing students to patronize your business so you can achieve it is not great. I question the sustainability of this business when they rely on mandatory clientele. Perhaps becoming a cooking school and offering customers the option of eating there would be better for all involved. How do you evaluate the success of your business when the population with the least experience being selective restaurant consumers are forced to eat there.

They gave me a hard time about wanting my coffee in my reusable mug. After telling me that they would make it in a cup and then throw it out and I told them that defeats the purpose of bringing your own mug :( 0 out of 5 stars if you’re trying to do your part for the planet!
I also have never had actual good coffee here unfortunately but I tough it out because I work in the building and it’s convenient for a caffeine-fix. Haven’t tried the food but wouldn’t recommend the coffee or lattes in terms of quality. 👎

It's fantastic. Absolutely unique menu. Yam fries are the best. Tender and not overcooked. I would like to try each item of the menu. Thanks to the chef of Elements and all crew for a great job.

Their food is hit and miss and they treat meal plan students very poorly. Food is unnecessarily expensive ($6 for popcorn was my personal favourite) and often wrong or not cooked properly. Once, a dining mate of mine ordered a medium rare steak and received a blue steak - very unappetizing if that's not what you wanted!
Elements isn't all bad though, they have lovely gluten free and vegetarian options and are very accommodating for such dietary preferences.

I have never has a bad experience at elements and frequent this restaurant. I have dietary preferences and can always find something satisfying and great to eat. Compliments to the chef and their team!

I've been eating at Elements regularly for a while now and I am generally satisfied with Elements and their service but one of your waitresses Mekdelawit Yohannes stands out to me because of her unfortunate bad service. She is rude, never smiles or gives a good experience when eating at Elements. It seems to me that she does not really care about her job. It is such a shame because in comparison to the rest of your employees who seem to care and whom are able to make a really good experience, she really manages to lower the entire mood when I'm there. It seems as if she is not aware of or ever has been taught what it takes to make a good experience for the customers. I hope this review can help her improve her skills.

Quite a nice setting altho sitting by the large windows is hot in summer and cold in winter. Menu options has shrunk over the last year but still has a number of tasty items. Ramen (noodle soup) is a favorite but I have not been disappointed with other items. Prices are reasonable but perhaps a little high. Serving staff are always friendly and efficient.
