It’s been a while since I’ve been to a sushi restaurant. Sushi Gen and Mooshiro were among my earliest reviews. Magic Sushi, on McPhillips, is one place that I’ve heard a lot about, but never visited. In fact, I didn’t realize until my first visit that it featured an all you can eat buffet.
the male worker was very nice and the food was very good. i usually don't like sushi but i tried it here and it tasted great.
The sushi is wayyy better without the teriyaki sauce! They all taste the same with the teriyaki sauce, so I order without it. You can taste the sushi more. Definitely a tip when you eat there :) the rainbow roll is my favourite.
Rolls were good. Sizes were just a little to small but fair enough not to have left overs. It was just kinda weird cause it says in the menu ,5 pcs, but when we counted it, it only has 4 pcs. Where did 1 pc for each go? 🤔 Pork karaage was a little bit unusual. Will come back still.
Pleasantly surprised at the quality and value at this restaurant. For $13 you may order off the "All you can eat" menu. For vegetarian selections I was able to order miso soup, a tasty and light green salad, edamame, mushroom tempura, a fried tofu dish, and several rolls. The rolls come 8-10 pieces however, so I only ordered 2. The food came out fast and there were no issues with service. Everything was fresh tasting and the quality was comparable to other sushi restaurants I have been to. While the menu for "all you can eat" is rather limited, it was definitely worth the price and I will return.
The menu shared on Zomato is outdated and all you can eat is about $13, close to $15 with tax. After going to the other Magic Sushi location and being disappointed, we went to this one as it is cheaper.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sushi. We ordered about 8 rolls and all were pretty good, fair quality for an all you can eat restaurant.
We also tried the tempura mushrooms, sushi pizza which was lacking salmon, the wonton soup which only had one wonton, the sunomo salad which was floating in about 2 inches of water and the edamame which was delicious and one of my favorite parts of the meal.
Overall, it was pretty good and we got our money's worth and tried many different things. I wasn't disappointed but I found that the menu had much less variety than the other location. I will definitely return the next time I feel like sushi
Good value, love the wonton soup... You can get really full and enjoy it but this is not the place to order different rolls and try to pick out the flavours in each one. They all taste similar. However, appetizers are included and I am really satisfied with ordering a couple orders of some of the real good rolls.
It's been a while since I've been here to Magic Sushi & Wok. I went maybe 5 years ago? I guess back when it was still new to the area. I didn't like the sushi back then since literally EVERY ROLL was drenched in teriyaki sauce and tempura bread crumbs (yes I still remember this). Although, times have changed and they don't do that anymore. The rolls are a little smaller and have better filling from what I can remember. It's almost like mini sushi! The sushi was good and I'll definitely be back for more.
I don't even know how many times I've been here. Me and my husband used to come all the time then I got pregnant and had to avoid sushi. So now that the baby's out we can hopefully come back soon.
I actually like that the rolls are on the smaller side because then they actually fit in my mouth. Lol.
The price is good for what your getting.
For the all you can eat and the price, you really can't go wrong. If you are wanting really good quality sushi, probably not the place. But considering the price includes the appetizers, that makes it worth it. The sushi is filled with a lot of rice, but kind of to be expected. I wouldn't go here every time for sushi but if you are on a budget and want a feast, definitely the place. The service used to be super quick but has gone down hill a bit. Ordered take out through skip the dishes last time, wouldn't do that again.
Well its not awful for an all you can eat place. Been there a few times and will be going back, not to this location though, as their second location is MUCH better. Don't come here if you want good service. Every single time I've been here, the servers don't even speak a word to you, and just kind of drop your food on the table as their walking by without stopping. Incredibly rude
Good Sushi for All You Can Eat!. It is good and reasonable Sushi for All You Can Eat. Its reasonable because its only 12 95 for it,and service was not to bad if you come a bit later in the evening. Overall Good Sushi, i would go back there again!

Always a good go-to. Been to Magic more times than I can count, and each and every time is between good and excellent. Great value for an AYCE place. Love that soups, salads, and appetizers are included and not just sushi.
To keep costs low, they put lower cost ingredients (veggies) in the middle and more expensive (fish) on top, but the flavour is still good. Good to go in a group so it's easier to try many things.
Service isn't spectactular, but how much do you need really? Write down what you want, and then enjoy your company rather than deal with wait staff being in your way!
Good value. For all you can eat, it is a good value. For an all you can eat menu there is good variety. I've been here 4 times and the foods always been great. Once it was really busy and had to wait for a table but that has nothing to do with the restaurant other then it is a smaller restaurant. I'll admit I was reluctant to try the place at first but once I gave it a shot, I was glad I did. I've never had to wait a long time for the food. I would recommend this place.

Great AYCE place. Great all you can eat and it's super cheap. For $12.95 you get mostly all you can eat, with a few weird restrictions that were kind of complicated to understand on the menu. If you want to add nigiri and green tea to your meal, it's an extra $4, but the menu is so huge that you really don't even need to. The selection of veggie rolls was awesome and I loved that each order came with 10 rolls, which were sliced fairly small (in a good way). I liked the yam tempura rolls and the avo/cuc/ginger rolls the best. The deep fried tofu was also great but there was a strange thing where each table is limited to one order per person. For some reason I assumed it was one order per round but as we ordered more tofu and it came to our table we were informed otherwise. However, the owner was there and when the waitresses left, he reassured us that it was okay if we ordered more tofu, which was really nice of him. Tempura was good, miso soup was good and my friends seemed to like their non-veggie rolls and nigiri.

I went here about 7 times now. All 7 times, I've came with my friends. We'll always come here for sushi. The employees are awesome; we asked if we can bring in our own alcohol drinks (for fun to see what they would say) and they said yes, lol, so we did and they just smiled. Anyways. Once you walk in you don't have to wait to be seated, just walk to a table of your choice. Food doesn't take that long to come, they prepare it fast. Servers are always nice and smiley even if we make non-intentional rude comments. The place is clean and renovated about 18 months ago, just needs a little improvement in the washroom facilities department. Price is good for a buffet.
Really liked the sushi here. Looked kinda sketchy from the outside but inside the restaurant was fairly nice. Really good price for all you can eat, but price is going up to $13.95 as of beginning of nov I believe. Really fast service as well.

Can't understand why there are so many bad reviews. I agree that the taste of the fish was not the primary flavour in their rolls. They all had tempura and a sweet teriyaki sauce, only with different fish. However, for me personally, I like a slight sweetness in my sushi. I also liked the tempura because it gave the sushi a certain texture.
A lot of the complaints here revolve around all the sushi options tasting the same. I agree that there is not that much variety among the sushi as other places, but it is tasty nonetheless. Also, if variety is an issue, you can order tempura, wonton soup and other starters at no extra charge.
It costs a few dollars more then burger king or mc Donalds. But it is much tastier, healthier and classier. Unlimited sushi for ten dollars is a really good deal. When you take the price into account, it's actually not half-bad.
Awesome. This place is my favorite sushi place. I like it for the price and for the fact that I can eat as much as I want without having to spend a lot of money. I really like sushi and can't justify going to a regular place anymore, I have to have all-you-can-eat. The service is good and the quality of the sushi is good.
Amazing!!!!. This place is great! not bad servers, i would like 2 c a hot one sometime, n the food is amazing, im not a big fan of sushi but i Love this place me and a buddy heard about it in the sauna at the gym so we deiced 2 try it out and we've gone back atleast once a week cuz its so good, 4 the price there is no way u can go wrong. the sushi is very good (the ones i like) if u go during the week its not a really long wait but if u go firday or saturday evening its really busy. soup is kinda bad, n some appetizers r really good (tempera fryed stuff). id give this place a 7 outta 10.
GREAT!. One of the better all you can eat sushi places in winnipeg! Small inside but AWESOME Sunonomo Salad! Wonton soup very unique tasting and healthier than others. All SUshi's are good never seen so many different flavours of Bakudan. plus 11 dollars all you can eat? IM IN! :)
Sushi!!. To be honest, can't and won't compare to any other expensive sushi restaurants but was a good quality and service for it's price. This place is always crowded but the food came out amazingly fast. Not licensed which i personally like because I go there with my kids.
Really like it. Good value and service. Just wish they were open on Sunday.
Love IT!. One of my family's favorite places to eat! (even made my husband a convert) Staff is super with my 14 month old daughter (actually got in trouble for NOT bringing her!) best sushi for the price! So excited that they are opening a new one closer to home on 562 Keenleyside St!
What's there not to love?!. Such a reasonable price, such friendly staff (they do such a wonderful job with the influx of patrons since Winnipeg discovered this place), and sushi that's very satisfying!!!!!!!

First of all, the rolls are beautiful. They are so perfect and chefs make them so quickly! Of course everyone knows that chefs in this restaurant make sushi after you order... Great great job!!!
I agree that some people say that rolls are similar in taste. But the taste is amazing! Does anyone know that teriyaki sauce is homemade? So amazing...
Good value. Is it the best sushi in town? Of course not. But for $15, all-you-can-eat sushi, it is not bad at all. I tried the udon noodles and it was yummy. The assorted tempura was also very tasty. The sushi was average, but it would be silly to expect much for the price I was paying.

i ve been going to this place for almost 2 years,(since it opened) and its getting so much popular. Fridays are just so crowded that you have to make an reservation to get a table :P I love the food there, and the people too! Prettty much the best sushi restaurent ever!

Magic Sushi. If your'e expecting the same thing as Wasabi on broadway, then you're a moron. But price vs value makes this place by far the best sushi restaurant in Winnipeg. It isn't the best sushi, but it's good sushi and it's not buffet, they hand make every roll. It's not going to compare to Wasabi for $70 a plate, but for $15 and all you can eat with how amazing their menu is and the quality of the fish, considering that,this place is seriously amazing. It's made for people who want to eat good sushi 3-4 times a week and don't want to go broke. I go here all the time - the staff is amazing and it's nice inside.
Secret spot. Went there when this place first opened up, and loved it.

For the price (14 for lunch 16 for dinner) you can get pretty much anything you want (except sashimi)
If you go after 430, 6 pieces of nigiri of your choice come with your buffet.

If you come here a lot the staff will start to recognize you which is really nice. I'm allergic to avacado, and they even remember to leave it out when I come.
Come hungry. No question this is not the best sushi in town, but it's likely the cheapest. All you can eat for $15?? And the service is good. It's about on par with what you'd get in a food court, but who's picky at those prices!?
You can drive right by it if you're not paying attention. So look for it. This place is a diamond in the rough. Awesome service! Great food and prices!

If you want an affordable AYCE sushi place, Magic Sushi at Mcphillips is the perfect place to go to! The place might be small and there can be a lot of wait times but it's definitely worth it for the price. Their all day all you can eat sushi is $13.30! They've expanded their appetizers and rolls and I always get edamame, wonton soup, assorted tempura and pork karaage for appetizers. My favourite rolls are the Crunch Sake, Red Sky, and Dynamite. Basically anything with salmon, I would order. I was also surprised at how huge their sashimi pieces are at an affordable price!
There is no other place in Canada you can get this cheap of sushi in such a great price. The sushi was okay tasting, but for all you can eat, it is worth the price. Some of it tasted the same because of the sauce. The soups are okay. Very crowded place during dinner, so make sure you order wisely!
When I hear "all you can eat sushi " I automatically have an instant aversion and assume the place is a provider of "dirty sushi." You know, the kind of sushi you're going to regret a few hours after consumption. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that this is far from the case with Magic Sushi. I found the food here was good quality and very tasty. The server was friendly and attentive and the price for what you get is beyond reasonable.
For the price, Magic Sushi is hard to beat. At $12.95, all you can eat is worth it. Quality of sushi is very good, especially considering the price. Decent selection of options are available.
The noodle salad is especially good, and the tempura vege is sooooo good. Never had a bad experience here.
