Yum! What an awesome find! We are gluten free & took the two suggestions the server offered: the new style roll & the caterpillar roll. Both were amazing! Also really liked the dressing for the green salad.
This is one of the better sushi places I've been to! It's very nice and clean inside. I had the crazy 88 roll which had tuna and salmon, and one with shrimp that I don't remember the name of. It was very good especially the crazy 88. It is expensive, but I did expect that because it's a classier bistro setting. I will return some day
Clean, good portions, server had great knowledge of menu. Was a great option for my friend who has celiac. The tempura veggies and yams were over coated and greasy.
Great place to have dinner. Wasabi sushi is always my favourite place to go for dinner and lunch the food is fresh waitress/waiter is kind and helpful the price are not overpriced , i really likes this place .if you want to find somewhere for dinner i recommend you to go
Wasabi sushi Bistro
The Spicy Mango Shrimp was one of the best things I've ever ate. This is a great spot even for people who don't like sushi and feel like a third wheel amongst sushi lovers. Beautiful decor and refreshing to see that they didn't use cliche Japanese inspiration. The food is already oriental inspired - the walls and booths don't need to be too
Best Raw Sushi. I have been to all the Wasabi's in Winnipeg, but this one is the best.
The atmosphere is very inviting with two separate areas to dine, one more dark and romantic, and the other white and orange in color scheme, and funky sitting. They have a sushi bar, and the other side(funky side) is a drink making bar which is beautifully done.
The service is always great, very attentive and very knowledgeable. I dine there anywhere from 3-10+times a year.
Some of the things i order:
Salmon piece
Smoked salmon piece
ikura (one of the only places that has is available, and is fresh)
Red tuna (by far the best in the city)
ika (don't care for the mint that sometimes is put into it)
Suzuki
pizza sushi (there teriyaki sauce is awesome)
dynamite roll
volcano roll (best volcano roll, very spicy)
prairie fire roll
chopped scallop roll
hand rolled tuna (looks like a cone)
miso soup -perfectly made
and of course there deep-fried banana wonton with caramel sauce..... oh my
They also have fun drinks, and a wasabi ceaser to drink which is pretty good.
Overall i have tried probably everything there is on that menu, but i love that they have such a large selection of raw fish, which is what i go for mostly, and it is always so damn fresh and tastes soo good.
This place is excellent for those who have never tried sushi, or have had bad experiences before and want a second try at it.
Only down fall is that the menu for their raw fish pieces is in Japanese, and dont say the English version as though the menu does at their other locations which i find odd.
You can also make reservation online, or if you have open table on your black berry
Excellent place

Volcano roll! sooo yummmy!!
My Favourite Sushi Spot!!. I love Wasabi! Their rolls are definitely on the more pricy side, but they are SO good that I think it's worth it. Their seaweed is so soft that you can bite right through a roll - something you cannot do at most other sushi places. The best roll in my opinion is their Wasabi Tempura Roll - YUMMY! It's so delicious. I love the variety of rolls. Will be back again and again (on paydays, of course :)
Fun atmosphere! Great management. I personally think that the Wasabi on Taylor has better food, but this location wins on atmosphere.
Food is good. Great atmosphere. Fast service. Decent pricing. Overall, I would recommend this place to a friend. Pleasantly surprised.
Top tier sushi.. I have gone here for the past 5 years of my life, and in the past two I've gone at least once a week.
Yes the prices are pretty up there for a meal, but most people justify it as it's sushi, and good sushi at that.
I have only three times had bad experiences there, and only twice where it had to do with the food. There are some dishes there that aren't so great, but if you stick to the rolls, and their specials (Tuna Nachos), I think you'll really love it.
By the way, I know 14 dollars for six nachos is ridiculous, but it's worth it to try at least once.
The fish has always tasted fresh (for Winnipeg), except once when the tuna was stringy and slimy (sticky).
The service is all right. There are servers I prefer over others, but they do what their paid to do usually.
USUALLY great. Great date spot! This is my second favorite restaurant, food wise. First when it comes to atmosphere.
Bill. Had some friends visited from vancouver last night , 8 of us went to wasabi on Osborne , we just love the lounge , so relaxing , our server was so great , she had suggested many of their special feature , the tuna kimuchi is a killer , a bit spicy but so good , sashimi was so fresh and the rolls are not bad at all , love the newstyle roll , we dropped almost $380 on the bill , it's so worth it , and our friends thought they never find any good sushi place in Winnipeg , such good time , for sure will go back again
Great Sushi. Great sushi. Nice atmosphere. Good service. This is a great little sushi place.
It was fairly obvious why the Wasabi group is popular here in Winnipeg. They are able to deliver fun, solid, and, at times innovative, dishes at a reasonable price. Overall this is a good place to go for a guaranteed solid Japanese dining experience.
