Lots of crunchy falafel.
Tahini, vinegary hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickled turnips, in a pita.
Falafel less balls and more crunchy filling. Very deep, tasty fried spicy flavour.
The falafel balls kind of stay on their side while all the wet, tahini soaked salad toppings stay on theirs which is fine by me; both sides being delicious in their own right.
Service was great too!
Shawarma Time on the corner of Ellice Avenue and Sherbrook Street is one of the oldest Shawarma places in Winnipeg. Despite having lived in the area for the best part of 13 years, I’ve only gone in a couple of times over the years. The main reason for not stopping in was that although the food was quite good, I found the place to be a little on the run down side, and not a particularly pleasant space.

One of my favourite shawarma restaurants in the city. The staff are quite friendly, and the food is delicious.
The choice of spicing is really quite nice, and I really enjoy both their wraps and samosas. Their tamarind sauce has a very subtle but desirable flavour - it is neither too sweet and not too thick - it is just right. The samosas have a really good pastry shell texture, and have a lot of filling.
Their kebabs have a very nice spicing to them, and the vegetables they use seem quite fresh. Everything has a homemade quality to it, which is quite delightful. The sauces have a strong flavour, but they are not overpowering. I feel they use pretty good ingredients, and the taste of their food is quite consistent from visit to visit.
The overall decor and washrooms could perhaps do with a little renovation, but that would be my only criticism.
The pricing is quite reasonable, and the the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I feel they put a lot of effort, heart, and soul into their food.
Overall, I really enjoy Shawarma Time, and I strongly recommend it to others.
This place is the real deal when it comes to Lebanese food. Always excellent service, the owners are wonderful people and their memory is excellent. I usually go for lunch here and the food never disappoints! I have tried close to everything on their menu and it is all phenomenal! The place doesn't look like much on the outside and inside, however, i go to restaurants for food, not ambience. Keep up the good work guys!
Best shawarma in Winnipeg! Excellent portion sizes, amazing taste and seasonings, great service! We live in the east end and still make the trip out for this place.
Good food. Prices are okay. I was hoping for a bigger portion for what I paid. I felt decently full for 10$. Quick service and convenient location. I would come back. Better to bring a friend

So tasty. I usually get the chicken. Always juicy. I would avoid the garlic potatoes - too much garlic for my liking. The wrap is good the plates are great.
Shawarma Time is always an awesome choice for lunch. Mr Talal always has a big welcoming smile and truly wants his guests to leave full and happy. Any shawarma on the menu is awesome, my personal fave is beef and lamb, spicy. Good stuff!! The Cheese and tomato pie is excellent with just enough feta on it to give the tomatoes an awesome flavour but not kill it. The spinach pie is excellent as well. I've also had the tabouli salad which is a nice lighter choice some days.

Perhaps the best shawarma in town, and a staple of the West End. Fresh and tasty, friendly and relatively quick, with some delicious sides and options as well. Not really a place to sit and spend time though. Grab some shawarma to go and enjoy the atmosphere for the few minutes you're there.
This place is great . Been a few times , last couple times though found the meat very salty for some reason . But other then that the people are nice
Such nice people own/run this restaurant! I always get the chicken shawarma, because it is so delicious, and sometimes fries, as well. I love that the fries are proper homemade fries. So good. A friend has also tried the falafel, and said it was very good. Delicious food, wonderful, friendly people, and just down the street, to boot. Can't go wrong.
Such good and flavorful fresh food! Chicken shawarma is so good with that touch of sumac, and if you get the rice with the green cardamom so delish and yummy! Service can be difficult sometimes with the language barrier, and the decor is horrific and always get take out but potions are enough for two and so flavorful. Recommend it over Barack any day!
As far as Ellice Ave. gems go, this one is elite. Forget the interior, get your take out and have a nice conversation with the super-friendly staff while you pay. This is pretty easily the best middle-eastern food in the city. Absolutely crushes Shwarma Khan.
The food is beyond delicious. I always get the #30 with spicy chicken. The hummous and garlic sauce is amazing. Portion sizes are ample and we get lots of pita for dipping as well.
I grab some takeout from here at least once a month.
Great flavors, excellent service, give Shawarma Time a try!. Had to come by just to support a great local business. I've now been 4-5 times and have tried several items from their menu. Chicken Shawarma platter (#19) is my favorite with the Falafel wrap (#?) being a close second. The service (owners, I believe) is always friendly and will answer all questions about their food well. The photo menu on the wall helps newcomers out. The fresh salads, great tasting sauces and I feel there is good value in their price/portions. Give them a try, their food is delicious!
Go for the tasty food! Not for the decor.. Very tasty shawarma! I was upset when they stopped making the calzone. You go to this restaurant for the taste only, not for the ambiance or how nice it looks on the inside, because it's nothing much to look at. Too bad there isn't a shawarma place int the west Portage area.
Perfect. I'm Lebanese and this is the way Lebanese food should always taste. Tied with Baraka for the best shawarma in the city. Delicious food that's obviously made with love.
Great Shawarma's!. One of the gems in the west end... Shawarma Time always delivers the goods. I have tried most things on the menu here, with my absolute favorite being their Lamb meat Shawarma's. Their home made sauces are amazing and made in house ( along with almost everything else.) Prices are very reasonable. Service is almost always top notch. Samosa's, Grape leaf wraps. and Pita's to go are also available, as well as deserts.
The location and decor may leave a lot to be desired but if you are a fan of Lebanese " fast food " , don't pass it up.

Had the beef shawarma and fattoush salad. Delicious as usual; best shawarma in Winnipeg.
Greasy but really good. Really good, reasonably priced and the fries with garlic on top of them were excellent. I got take out for dinner and by the time I brought it home, the shawarma looked super greasy, which was a little off putting, but I'm sure true of all shawarmas if you don't eat them right away! Once I got past the look of it and just focused on the taste, it was yummy.
Fave shawarma in town. This is my favourite shawarma by far in Winnipeg. I love all of the food here and have tried a lot of different things. I have been many times and the owner and his family are super friendly every time.
If you go you have to have a wheatlet square for dessert! Can't go wrong!
My new fave.. I love this place. Lovely owners and excellent food at great prices. Glad to see they use the pickled turnips in their shawarmas here, it adds a nice salty crunch. We always order the beef shawarmas and we're always satisfied with what we get. The fries portions are huge so you can save money and buy one sandwich combo + an extra sandwich. Their rice was so-so, I prefer the fries. Anyways, they have a big menu and I always feel like I am welcome when I step foot into the restaurant.
Thumbs up for shawarma time. I will keep coming back until I am no longer able to do so. :P
The chicken Shawarma is to die for!. Love this place, not much on decor but the food and staff are wonderful! We drive across town just to pick up lunch here, it's very addicting, especially the chicken shawarma so flavorful, juicy and tender, large servings, great fries and Samosas, freindly staff great prices too, I've had many Shawarma around the city but this one is my fav and one of my favorite spots to eat!
Great for Take Out. We dropped by here a while back after just getting off work on a weekday evening. Photographs of all the dishes available with descriptions are on the wall. I had beef and chicken on hummus, and the hubs had a chicken pita with fries inside. I used the pita provided to pick up chunks of meat and hummus, which was heavenly. The fattoush salad is delicious and refreshing. The spinach triangle in phillo was nice, but flabby due to microwaving. Next time, I'll ask for it not to be nuked. Our food was assembled and we were on our way within about 15 minutes. We intend to make this a regular pit stop.

Yummy. This is one of my favourite local haunts. My partner and I love to come to this unpretentious family run spot. Large, moist, spicy and frankly delicious the shawarma never disappoints.
Best Lebanese in WPG. Shawarma TIme is awesome. Friendly family staff. Authentic diverse menu with imported drinks. Very vast menu which has something for everyone. Unlike other Donair places. Shawarma Time's Shawarmas have shaved/sliced meats instead of large chunks from the other guys. Everything about #9 is excellent, kabob chicken with a nice salty spice rub, the salad was fresh and simple, rice great, pitas were soft and fresh with hummus to dip. I live in the North and will go out of my way to eat here. I've tried Baraka Pita on Main St (where i live 1 minute away from) once and will never go back, it just doesnt compare. Keep it up Shawarma time!
Shawarma Time #9. Drove across town to check out this place. Easily missed if you’re not looking, park around the back. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that stop you. Extremely friendly I can only assume the owners were the ones working. I ordered #9 chicken kabobs, rice, salad, hummos, and pita bread. Chicken kabobs were pretty good, rice was a bit mushy. Salad very refreshing I think this was the best part of the meal followed close behind by the hummos. They gave me 2 pieces of pita which was very nice. Cozy little spot with great staff, good portion size it was worth the drive.

Good Lord the shawarma is fantastic, super fresh, loaded up with Lebanese pickles and garlic. Well worth a visit, they brought their pita oven over from Lebanon!
In my opinion the best of its kind in Winnipeg. I've tried Baraka and falafel hut and this place beats them hands down. I find lunch is the best time to eat here because the meat can dry out by dinner time, but not always. Cheap and plentiful portions. Nice ppl too
It was my first time to Shawarma Time, so I ordered the sandwich and fries combo. I got the beef and lamb shawarma and it was so savory and delicious. The meat was so tender that I had no trouble biting through it. It had good flavors and spices. My only complaint was that it can be a little messy to eat and the garlic sauce was dolloped to one side, so sometimes you got a bite of too much sauce. The fries were seasoned and freshly made. Overall, my food was cheap and filling. The people working behind the counter reminded me of friendly versions of the "Soup Nazi" and joked around with me. I'll be coming back again soon.
Quick service with low prices. I had the #39 (recommended by my co-workers) and a hummus plate split amongst the four of us. Lots of beef/lamb in the pita with a snappy spicy oil. Good crisp lettuce and salty green olives on the hummus plate. Grabbed dessert to go, too. I'll be back for sure. Thanks Shawarma Time!
Great food. Gotta love Shawarma Time. Quick and friendly service, a very large selection of very cheap foods, and quite an impressive hookah collection adorning the walls haha. I've been to Shawarma Time on several occasions and would go back again and again.
My only complaint? Bring back the Middle Eastern sodas!
Deeeelish!. I went here with my boyfriend for the first time and had an awesome experience! The chicken shawarma, hummus with pita and the baklava dessert were very tasty! I also had a large plate of tabouleh salad which was a little overwhelming and would have been better as a side dish. All in all, a great place! I would definitely go back!
Yum Yum. Have been going here since they opened. I usually get the lamb/beef shawarma thing and sometimes fries, with hot sauce on the side. (Sometimes they put too much hot sauce on and it kills the flavour of the meat). The food is usually hot in temperature and delicious. The fries take a long time to cook but are home made. We have had some of the items/bakery stuff in the display case, ie. something with spinach. It was nice but I wouldn't order it again. I think it is one of the best places in the city, but because of the location, I rarely get to eat there. It is a bit dodgy. You can park in the back.

My favourite quick bite.. I went fasting for 4 days and this is the food I craved.
The lamb and beef sandwich is very good, best of the 3.
If you order kahbee make sure to get hummus with them, because themselves they are dry.
The samosa are average but not great.
The combo plates are good but not filling if you have an above average appetite. Though things are so cheap you can easily add an extra item for under 4$ to make sure you are full.
Very friendly staff some of my favourite operators in the city. It is the best place to go if you are a student @ UW.
Some people are scared of the neighbourhood, but in 3 years of living and frequenting the place, I have never had a bad incident.
Great place!. Just walked in one day while looking for a quick bite to eat. Very friendly staff was the first thing I noticed.
I also really appreciated that their menu was plastered up on the wall with big pictures and descriptions, I have never tried any lebanese food before so this made ordering easy.
The shawarma's are awesome! Anybody can cook meat, but it takes skill to make it taste good, and these guys got it! Everything there is home made and you can definitely tell.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Satisfying meal. This place has plenty of dishes to choose from. The wall is plastered with pictures and a number beside it to help you order. The restaurant itself is not very bright inside, there's a few tables inside but it was full at lunch time. Take out works as the food holds up well to travel. The service is super friendly and warm.
I ordered the beef shawarma platter with tabouli salad and hummus and pita for about $10 after tax. It's a massive lunch but I managed to finish the entire plate in 20 minute intervals. The meat was a bit dried out, guess it was roasting a little too long. And I didn't find the meat to be as flavourful as I had hoped. But it was still good. I LOVED the tabouli - I'd say the best one I've ever had. It is packed with flavours and the citrus helps cut out the heaviness of the meat and hummus. I'd go back and just order a plate of the tabouli. The hummus was garlicky and pureed very smoothly. I got two big pieces of pita bread to enjoy all that hummus.
The kebab platter came with 6 kebabs, rice, tabouli, hummus and 2 pieces of pita bread. The rice is deliciously flavoured and the kebabs were a tad dry but had great flavour to it. I would've liked some hot sauce to go with it, it was take out so I added some sriracha from home which made it even more delicious!
I like their falafels as well as it was a very generous sized ball (a little smaller than a baseball). Very light inside.
The spinach pie is a pretty big enclosed pita with spinach and cheese inside for $3. Delicious and not greasy at all.
The only con if you're not dining in, is finding parking on Ellice Ave during lunch time. Otherwise, great place for a very satisfying meal.
Great Picture Menu. We loved that they had a giant picture menu on their wall so we could actually see what we were going to order and what to expect. I had a plate of hummus, tabbouleh and mixed grill meats and also ordered a dish of their yogurt cucumber dip and was given a generous serving of pita bread to go with them. Loved them both ! (though my meat seemed a little dry) My dining partner had a large meat plate served over rice and covered with garlic and hot sauces....she also enjoyed hers and took enough home for a second meal. We will be back again sometime !!
Great Lebanese food. Tehir menu becomes bigger and bigger, and it becomes harder and harder with every time to decide what to order. Just because that everything is soooo good.

Warm and friendly staff offering delicious shawarma and other Middle Eastern dishes at affordable prices. Careful, it may be a little smoky sometimes from the spits, but it's entirely in keeping with the food and flavour. Plus, they have the very best garlic sauce for their wraps and platters!
I like to think of myself as a Shawarma
connoisseur and oh boy have I hit the jackpot. Shawarma time combines a fantastic authentic environment with the best shawarma I've ever had and incredibly friendly service, such an amazing family you always get the feeling their genuinely happy to see you. If i go with friends i always get fries to share, I love to show off those amazing fries to my friends. Sometimes i wish the portions were smaller so I could have room for their delicious and flaky baklava.
This positive experience started with the free parking behind the store - not every place has free parking.
The wonderful smells upon entering were just what I needed to whet my appetite. The service was friendly (but not over the top) and very quick. The young person was so pleasant I tipped *for takeout!*
I tried the chicken shawarma and a spinach and cheese pie. Both were absolutely fantastic! The shawarma was zesty and exotic, just bursting with flavor. The spinach and cheese pie was huge, very tasty, and very filling.
The whole meal only cost about the same as a burger and fries but was much more satisfying.
