Ordered take out this afternoon for my dad and myself. We ordered the Large Ingko Sushi Platter. You can choose 10 rolls from 101-108 on the menu and also comes with a Sunflower roll and a Tiger roll. It is recommended for 4-5 people. Needless to say we had a lot of left overs haha! We also added a New Hampshire Roll. In total we had 13 rolls. Took one hour for them to make. All rolls were delicious! The only downside is that the tempura crumbs on the rolls were kind of soft by the time we brought it home. Definitely worth your money to order from here. In total came to $73.00.
Went to Ingko unexpectedly as another local establishment was renovating. What an unexpected surprise! Clean quiet setting and food was great. Subtle smoke in their salmon was wonderful and we really enjoyed their tiger rolls. Was a fast, fresh and inexpensive place to stop for some quality fresh sushi with a huge selection to keep you coming back to try something new.
Superb!! This is our go-to sushi place, for eat-in or take-out. Fresh, excellent quality, delicious and consistent. Tasty rolls & service is always prompt & friendly. Our favourites are French kiss, sunflower, Philadelphia & tiger but every roll we've ordered has been good. Highly recommended & a total gem in a little strip mall on a high-traffic corner!! 😀
A friend wanted to come here and I was like 'what'?? So I read a couple of reviews on Zomato and decided to give it a try.
A hidden gem indeed! The restaurant is small but it has a cozy feel to it. They do not have a huge menu but the service was great!
We had the takoyaki (deep fried squid balls) and it was delicious!! The shrimp tempura was really good too! Their sushi rolls were decent, and tasty. Their wasabi and pickled ginger could be better.
All in all, a above average dining experience for reasonably priced sushi. I would come back for sure!
I just recently discovered this hidden gem! The sushi rolls here are absolutely delicious. Rice was sticky and seasoned just enough that it wasn't too sweet or sour. I wouldn't say they offer authentic sushi since a lot of rolls here are made with cream cheese and mayo but they are not overly westernized either. In short this place gives me an impression of a good marriage between Japanese and North American cuisine. Service was great and extremely friendly. The place is not too spacious, but it has a cozy vibe that I find very comfortable to dine here. Will definitely come back.
I think in the West Portage, St. James-Charleswood area Ingko is one of the best, if not the best. Last time I visited Ingko was when they first opened, it was a much smaller menu and of course, they had growing pains.
I tried it again a few months ago and they've improved dramatically. More options, and the price isn't bad either for some combos. I get the small roll combo and you get 1 big sized roll and 2 regular rolls, which is more than enough for one person. Their bakudan rolls are tasty. The sunflower roll is great for vegetarians too!
I like their blue ocean roll, there are similar (and same name) rolls in the city, they have an interesting take on theirs. They use a sweet chili sauce and a mustard sauce on top which provides an interesting flavour combination.
Their rolls actually are on the bigger side, about 8 pieces instead of 6 depending on what you get.
The food I've received from this place is always super fresh, great fish-to-rice ratio, and the rice is well seasoned. Thumbs up!
How Do You Say Ingko?. I still can't say the restaurant name. Only been there for lunch. It's great! Quick, cheap, friendly. What more do you want for sushi? Can someone phonetically say the restaurant name for me? IngKo? In gee ko? Ein-ge-ko? Ink-oh?
Pretty Good. Tiny restaurant. But the staff was friendly and the sushi was good. I wouldn't make a special trip all the way out west for it, but if I lived close I would definitely be a regular.
I was craving sushi and I'm pretty new to it so I turned to urbanspoon to help me out. I thought this place looked cute and afforable! My friend and I made a reservation but there was no need. We walked in and got to pick where we wanted to sit. The sushi was fabulous probably some of the best I've ever had! My friend and I are putting this place on our go to list! It was great and extremely affordable even for a student haha! Highly recommended!
Just a small restaurant with about 4 or 5 tables. I always order to go and they are so friendly and appreciative. Their spicy salmon hand rolls are amazing and very reasonable prices.
Good stuff!. Ingko makes some of the best sushi I've tried in Winnipeg and the staff are fantastic. It's not a fancy dine-in location with only a few tables available but if you want well-made and flavorful sushi theirs is some of the best I've had.
Great Sushi. This place is great, we live Downtown close to some great sushi places, but we love ordering from Ingko as they have a lot of great stuff that I've never seen elsewhere and the portions are generous and fish is fresh!
Delicious! I love the roll that has bacon in it! And their deep fried roll is to die for!
Good Sushi. Staff is very friendly and the rolls are really good. They also have a few really good rolls that I havent seen anywhere else
Great place for sushi. Only a handful of eat in tables but the friendliest staff and best sushi ever! Great prices and service is friendly and fast. Our family favorite!!
Love it!. Have eaten there 3 times in 2 weeks... absolutely delicious, and so very well presented. Sushi is so fresh, and very tasy! Thinking I might have to go back today!
Great prices for Great Sushi. I am a huge fan of another sushi place in the same area but find it a bit pricey. While out and about one day with a friend, thought we would try out Ingko. We ordered a few rolls and all were delicious but my favorite thing then and every time I go now, is the gyoza. Some sushi places tend to not cook them properly but Ingko has it spot on. Been back many times and will continue to do so in the future.
Best Sushi this side of Polo Park!. Ingko is the best sushi in St. James as far as I'm concerned! My favourites are the dynamite and yam roll. I can't eat california rolls from a lot of places because they never taste great, but everything from the seeds on the rolls to the mayo they use in them is delicious! I would recommend this place for take out though as it's very small inside (believe there are a couple of tables). The quality of the sushi is incredible for this price! Cheap!
YAY!. Finally, a sushi place within walking distance that is decent! Actually, it's better than decent, it was great!
I ordered out, but there are a few small table for eating in. While I waited for my order, I got to peruse their magazine selection and had a nice hot cup of free tea.
The waitress/cashier was very polite and friendly, and the chef even said hello and thank you/goodbye while he worked.
The rolls were very good. Just the right filling:rice ratio. Rice was moist and perfectly seasoned. Spider roll was very good. The shiitake mushroom roll was excellent, just enough seasoning on the mushrooms to enhance the mushroom flavour without overpowering it. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. Miso soup was delicious (funny how many places make poor Miso soup - it's so simple!).
My only complaint was that the tempura was a little more heavily battered than I like it, but it wasn't greasy.
Overall I was very impressed for such a small strip-mall place and I look forward to going back!
Very good sushi and well priced. I took off a mark because there was an issue with what we ordered and received - but we just ate it anyways. The staff was super friendly.
Excellent sushi. Fresh, flavourful and perfect texture. Highly recommend!
Always a good place to go. Wait for food was minimal and prices are great. Will continue being my number 1 choice locally.
The waitress that showed me to my seat was very quiet but she was friendly like most other reviews had mentioned.
The service is not traditional as you write down your order on paper. One issue I had was with the platter I decided to order. In the description on the menu it says you can choose 3 regular rolls but it did not mention that you can only choose from the first 8 regular rolls instead of the entire regular rolls section.
My food was presented well and quickly. The "Fire Crunch Roll" was underwhelming but the other rolls were delicious.
Love this small sushi restaurant. Always kind service and the quality of food is top notch. Whenever I'm in that area of the city it's the only sushi place I'll go to.
I've never had a bad experience there and always leave full and satisfied
Great little sushi restaurant! Delicious rolls and great selection on menu. Staff is very welcoming. Definitely recommend the Alaska Roll! Super good. Although, I am rating 4 stars because they've messed up my order twice...
Great sushi. The nori seaweed in their rolls is great and not chewy at all. They have pretty common options but really great quality and cleanliness in their building Is noticeable.
Quickest service of any sushi restaurant I've been to. I like every item I've tried especially the creamy shrimp tempura and yakitori. It's a small restaurant so the largest group they'll take is usually 1 six person table. They could have a little less rice but that's really the only not so great review I have for them. I always tend to recommend going here with my coworkers and have definitely brought friends to try it out because their sushi is so good.
