*** MUST DRINK - STRONG COFFEE *** came here to try the coffee with x special contender and I enjoyed every bit of it! can really taste the richness of the coffee bean & it's strong coffee! PROS • great little place out Henderson Hwy! • atmosphere is very warm & cozy, has a log cabin theme feeling going on • staff was attentive & friendly • coffee is deep in flavor - must get coffee here! CONS • none at the moment to complain about.

Walked here from our condo during one of Winnipeg's snowstorms. Greeted with a friendly staff lady and a warm looking fire. The coffee was good - dark roast, black - and we both had a small bite with it. Only issue was the weak WiFi but maybe it was because we were seated in the back? Anyway, it was good but then we had to go home 🤔.

One of my favourite places in Winnipeg. Doing a school project on them and though I'd share some nice shots.

Pleasant enough employees, not super friendly but quick and efficient. It got really busy here around lunchtime and was very noisy. Not a good place for a relaxing visit. They need some sound absorption to muffle the conversation.

I love going to Mountain Bean. Starting with the employees, so nice and friendly. Sometimes you go into a local place and they're kinda snobby, not this crew. Never change!!! I don't drink coffee, so I couldn't tell you about that. But the teas, yes. Chai 100% yes. Nice spicy kick. The sandwiches, they grilled one and it was sooooo good. Good selection of desserts. It's a good meeting place and such

Ordered a Chai latte with 2 shots of espresso and it was delicious. Cost 7$ I believe. I'd come again for sure. Bonus: There's a small trail nearby you can walk with your beverage.

Born and raised in Colorado, entering this coffee shop is a vivid reminder of stepping into nearly any local coffee shop/store front in both Denver and all the mountain towns like Breckenridge, Estes Park, Woodland Park, etc Thank you for having a piece of my homeland in Winnipeg ❤️

Great locally owned coffee shop! They make a great Americano as well as other specialty drinks at a fair price. Support your local business instead of a big chain and check them out.

It is always a special treat to go to The Mountain Bean for coffee. The hazelnut creme latte is so delicious, and the atmosphere is very warm and cozy. The Mountain Bean is my favorite coffee place in Winnipeg 😄

Nice quiet small coffee place tucked in a strip mall along Henderson Highway before the perimeter. Coffee was good and nice selections of pastries. The place was busy when we were there but service was fast and friendly. They also have a drive thru service. Be back if given the chance.

Whichever coffee you decide on- it will taste wonderful. I've tried a few different types and they all tasted amazing. Latte to espresso, they make it perfectly and the quality is consistent. XOXO

Nice, cozy place. I got their cake and coffee, but was disappointed with both. Their coffee was very bland, but it could be that the barista screwed up my order.

So cozy! Everything about this place is wonderful, the fireplace and comfy chairs are just too good, went for the first time today and had a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Feels like your in a cozy cabin

Love how cozy this place is. Always a treat when we are in the area. Their drinks are never disappointing either! Wonderful place all around!

I love this place. They are so friendly and make your day. This is a place that gets it. Good job and Thank you.

Tried a couple coffees and they were great! Can't wait to go and try the desserts!

Service is bad everywhere. I've read a lot of complaints about the service at the bean, but the reality is that this is a generation problem. I run a service business also and have found that the new generation have no concept of service. They are from a generation of spoiled children whom have never been held accountable for anything by their parents who are both out in the workplace while their retired mom and dad now get to enjoy raising another generation of kids. Unfortunately, the only way you can keep a service business open is buy keeping costs to minimum, this means pay minimum wage or just over. The result, you get what you pay for. Trust me, my heart breaks for the owner. I have heard both her and the previous owner try reign in the staff. Good luck.

Great coffee. Very nice owner and most of the staff are very pleasant. Sometimes the long line up could be managed better with a little more staff at peak times. <br/>I am a regular though who generally likes this place alot

Regular customer. I live in the area and have frequently popped in. Good coffee... But service is consistently lacking. First of all, I would replace the staff as they are consistently uninterested in the customers and thus appear to be rude.<br/>Will go elsewhere as if I am going to pay over $4.00 for a drink, I deserve a smile!!

Love this place! Love the Coffee, Lattes, desserts, the atmosphere. The service was great! My new favourite place.

I stopped in here on my way home because I did not want to drive through the insane blizzard on the highway. I spend 4.35 on a latte only to be rudely treated. The server looked at two girls across the room, I assume her friends, and started to laugh. Then she looked at me, and started laughing again. I can say one thing, I agree with the others who say they will go to the Starbucks just down the street for great service. What was so funny ride-server girl?

Why do you work here?. My BF and I stopped to grab a couple of coffees to go last night. He waited outside while I went in.<br/><br/>2 large black coffees - that's it.<br/><br/>As I watched her pour them, I could see she was only filling the cups half full. She put lids on them behind the counter, so I couldn't see the coffee when she put them on the counter. I opened one, and asked her why I only got a half cup, and did the same with the other one. I asked her what the hell she was trying to pull.<br/><br/>Her first respnse was that she left me room for cream. I told her I want them both black, and FULL. She told me I didn't need to be so bitchy about it. Nice.<br/><br/>I asked her to fill both cups, and then she told me that she had emptied the pot filling these.. AH! So you're just too lazy to make another pot, or ask if I wanted the OTHER coffee blend?<br/><br/>Her response...."Whatever"<br/><br/>Luckily there was a Starbucks just down Henderson......we got FULL cups of coffee, and a FRIENDLY server.<br/><br/>Pathetic

Stale Sandwich. Dropped in for a quick coffee on Monday and did NOT have a good experience.<br/><br/>I got a coffee and an egg salad sandwich. My wife got a Chai and a piece of Rice Crispy Square.<br/><br/>The coffee was fine, but my sandwich was beyond stale, with a distinctly 'sour' taste to it. Quite revolting. I had asked if they were fresh, and was assured that Yes, they were made fresh this morning. I really don't like being lied to.<br/><br/>My wife had ordered her Chai with no foam, and close to half the cup was nothing but foam.<br/><br/>Is it really that hard to get right?<br/><br/>The person I believe to be the owner was in (arranging signs nice and pretty), but was conveniently oblivious to our concerns.<br/><br/>Won't be back.

Nice cozy relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Coffee okay... But the desserts tasted like it came from a cheap buffet! I will skip the dessert next time if I happen to be in the area for a coffee.

This is my favorite place to go in the mornings before work, as a regular I feel like I am a part of the establishment because the staff makes me feel at home every visit. Ashley serves me my medium medium roast every day and always welcomes me with a smile even at 7 am. Great vibes .

Great atmosphere and pleasant servers.

This is a wonderfully warm cozy place, very inviting. Too bad the coffee is so lousy. I bought a pound of their beans awhile ago and they tasted like they'd been on the shelf for a year. Old and stale. At least they took them back. And sadly their coffee in house is no better. Stick to tea here!

My Favourite Local Coffee Shop. Go here several times a week. Whether it's to catch up on friends, do homework, read, or have lunch it is close and always great. Great drinks and I love the Italian meats with provolone sandwich. They also have free wifi which is great when doing homework.

Love love love our favorite coffee! We've stopped going to Starbucks we have even changeged our route to the lake so we go by the Mountain Bean!

Good atmosphere but that is about it.. Mountain Bean Coffee Co. is a coffee shop located in Winnipeg Manitoba and in Toronto Ontario. It has a very nice rustic atmosphere, giving the impression of being in the mountains in a warm cabin. The atmosphere however is about the only positive thing i can say about the Coffee shop. The coffee is of low quality and the mixed drinks are very generic syrups that you could find at any coffee shop in a mall. The price is high for the quality of drink you are buying. <br/><br/>I have been a frequent customer of mountain bean since it first opened in Winnipeg. There are some friendly staff in the morning but overall i would have to rate the customer experience as poor. I spent 3 minutes waiting at the cash register while two employees talked to themselves at didn't acknowledge i was even there. Eventually an employee came to the cash register and did not say a word and just stared at me creating a very awkward situation. There was no "hi how are you?" or "Welcome to mountain bean". I received a vibe that i was inconveniencing them by placing an order. No smiles, no laughter, no enjoyment. The employees seemed like they had just been yelled at by management. Staff moral seems very low.<br/><br/>Speaking of management they posted a sign discouraging studying from students as "this is not a study hall" As frequenting this establishment as a student who studies at coffee shops putting such a bold statement may not be the best business strategy. Per night i buy 2 different drinks and one pastry (which are awesome and homemade i believe!) This equals a total of around 15 or so dollars. Meanwhile the womens bible study taking over half the shop is each having one small coffee and staying for the same duration. It is easy to do the math on this one. Are you sure you do not want this to be a study hall mgmt? There are quite a few students in here all spending money. Instead of saying you appreciated their business on a generic word document. Show them<br/><br/>Im disappointed the direction this coffee shop has been going. Glad i can go to the Starbucks down Henderson where the employees seem to have a much higher moral and get to know and appreciate their regulars.

Great coffee and great desserts! Place reminds me of the Caribou Coffee chain in USA with it's back country rustic decor.

Wonderful Cold Drinks. My friends went here in the summer for cold drinks, definitely worth the drive. Reasonably priced for good drinks, always what I like. I recall I had some frozen drink, chocoaltey, but i don't remember. <br/>Their ice/juice things are also really good. Especially the peach.

Good coffee but.... Miss the original owners!

Thanks a Latte!. Love this little spot! It's really cozy inside and the beverages are all very yummy - sweet, but yummy (I usually ask for "half sweet"). The pastries look good - I have had a few of them, but nothing really stands out. I don't go here for the food, I go here for the coffee, atmosphere, and conversation with friends.

Absolutely great!. I love Mountain Bean. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but their coffee is wonderful. The carrot muffin I had this morning was really tasty - moist and flavourful without being greasy like muffins sometimes can be. The place itself is really cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended.

One of Winnipeg Finest. Mountain Bean is one of Winnipeg top coffee (IMHO) shops. I like the decor and the coffee is really very good. I like the comfortable setting and the outdoor tables are nice during the warm summer months. I recommend this fine establishment.

Great Cup of Java!. Finally a great coffee shop in North Kildonan. We may lack for decent restaurants/shopping but we have a coffee shop to rival Starbucks. Even though I like Starbucks and Second Cup, I love my neighborhood place. I had been buying my pound of coffee to enjoy at home at the Second Cup for over 10 years. Now I changed to Mountain Bean. It's fabulous. Love the lattes as well. Second Cup coffee is not as good as it used to be. Some nights it's hard to get a seat in the "Bean". Comfy couches, a fireplace and WifFi. If you haven't been, it reminds me of Caribou Coffee in the states. Try it you'll like it.

Great place to relax!. Mountain Bean has a very refreshing and well priced menu. The interior offers a modern mountain feel and is a cozy place to meet with friends. Outside there is a patio for warm, sunny days. Personally I prefer their cold drinks over their hot drinks. My all-time favorite is the Blended Chai. It is a cool punch on a hot day bursting with the flavor of Chai. Other favorites include the Hazelnut Snow Cap and the Oreo Avalanche (great for kids!)<br/><br/>Also the Mountain Bean website states that Low Fat, Sugar-Free and Iced options are available for most drinks. I have yet to try this but it sounds like a huge plus to me!

The best place to go for coffee/lattes.. Forget Starbucks/Tim's just head over to this wonderfully quaint and clean coffee place. The price is right too! The servers/cashiers are wonderful. The lattes are exceptionally strong/hot and yummy. The cheesecakes and sandwiches are great too! In the summertime it is awesome to utilize the outside patio which is kept in magnificent condition. Don't pass this place up with comfy chair/couch and a fireplace too!

What A Great Place!!. This is such a cozy coffee place, with a very attractive interior and ambiance. It reminds me of Northern California with their big Redwood trees. You kind of feel like you're in a cabin. The fireplace is very nice, with couches around it. The back area on the other side of the fireplace has an Arts and Crafts type architectural feel to it. Lots of couches, tables and chairs. The backs of the chairs, the tables, and napkins have a bear paw motif. Good pastries and sandwiches! Excellent Spinach horns! And amazing Lattes in all kinds of flavors. My favorites lately have been the Maple lattes and Peanut Butter Lattes!!
