Went hear with a friend Monday January 23, 2016 for supper and i had the fish and chips and excellent tomato soup..homemade and my friend had double fat boy wuth fries snd caesar salad...with home made croutons and my fish was basa fillets..delicious. Fabulous and returned Friday January 27 ,2016 and my friend had caesar salad euth grilled chicken and garlic toast and i had the special...veal cutlet with lemon roasted potatoes and rice and fresh beans and a mixed tossed salad. Excellent food and service and it feels like Home.
The Maples end of the city lacks some good restaurants - actually, it's pretty much described by locals as a "food desert." Thank goodness for Johnny's!
Cheap, but delicious diner style food. Their gyros are pretty good, as is their pizza and their burgers. I tried an open faced sandwich once and found it pretty "meh" as far as that goes. My favourite from Johnny's is their lemon chicken cream soup, it's heavenly and I could eat a huge pot to myself and not get sick of it, lol.
SwizzleStyx. I have been coming to Johnny's for as long as I can remember and I have never been disappointed, except for the days when Johnny himself isn't around with his big, friendly smile! Had lunch here yesterday with a friend and it was excellent. You really can't beat the prices here, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of food. The home made soups are always excellent and the salads are all great. For sure one of the best clubhouses in town, home made fries, awesome pizzas and sandwiches, this place is terrific!
Nov 2018 had pizza here today and was outstanding!!! Lots of toppings, all fresh and service so awesome and friendly!!
Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza, Greek Salad and Onion Soup. My sister took me here. I was leery but she said tons of doctors from the hospital go there and it's great. Had the lunch special as did my sister and mom. It was delicious. Great service. Will definitely be back.
Excellent!. The breakfast portion was huge and cooked beautifully. We also got the Gyros with greek salad. The Greek Salad was a little over kill with the onions but it was tasty nonetheless. The Gyros was very tasty. The owner is a very nice guy and there is a very homey diner atmosphere about the place, We will definitely be going back!
Probably the best pizza in the city. I haven't tried them all, so I can't say for sure, but this was the best I've ever had. Went with my girlfriend, had a jumbo Johnny pizza. We both agree that it is the best in winnipeg
My gf was dying to come back to this place. I live around the polo park area so it was kind of a far drive just so she could have the chicken souvlaki. It was well worth the drive and the pizza was amazing. Not so much with the French onion soup. I found it very salty and difficult to eat. I'll leave the soup for a place like cafe ce soir, but id defiantly go back for the pizza
Best breaky in the city! Friendly staff and fair prices. Also very safe, half the police service is here at any given time ha ha
Good breakfast. Had a great breakfast two eggs, hash browns, kubassa were good and reasonably priced. Decor is interesting but you go for the food.
A Regular favourite. Have been going here since we moved to the maples over 8 years ago. Great place, always has awesome Soups. Very friendly Staff to boot!
So good to go back to.. I was a regular customer there but moving to a different part of the city made it difficult to dine there. Not too long ago I was in the area and stopped in for lunch. It was so good to go back. The service was great and the food was plentiful and very tasty. My wife was very impressed. I remember the breakfast was the place to go and from the reviews I see that it still is. Will definitely go back soon.
Score a yes from me. I've been going to Johnny's for some time and have been here n there for breakfast elsewhere but have to say Johnny's is my favorite. I could easily be called a regular and can go in there alone and always feel at home.The girls always treat me well and Johnny always says hello....Oh the food is great too breakfast always hold me until dinner his bacon and hash browns are the best.

Great Food (Catering). This December I was lucky enough to enjoy catered meals twice, by Johnny's. The food was reasonably priced, delivered right on time, hot and delicious. Some of what I sampled included a good Greek salad (although a bit heavy on the lettuce as opposed to other veg like peppers/tomatoes/olives/onions), a heavy meat-filled lasagna, mousakka (very delicious with lots of tender eggplant), chicken souvlaki (good flavor and nice with the tzaiki sauce), and my favorite the spanikopita which was crispy on the outside and filled with a very delicious spinach mixture which had some hints of dill, making it so much better than others I have had in the past. I also sampled a few different types of pizza. The crust was a little thick for my personal taste but the pizzas came loaded with toppings.
With both experiences being so tasty and well executed both times, I would highly recommend Johnny's for catering events. I also hope to visit the restaurant in the near future--I hope they offer the same dishes.
Been enjoying great food here since Oct/77 - 34 freakin' years. The ONLY place I visit whenever I need a great cheeseburger fix !!!
Jphnny's Maples Pizza & Restaurant. I love all the food but I never fail to add a Greek Salad (hold the olive) as it is the best in own. I have tried their chicken, pizza, soups, fries, veal, and love them all. Great Atmosphere feels like dining with friends.
Consistently Good. My friend and i always stop here for dinner after meeting for shopping. The service is always very friendly and fun and the food is always good. The portions are generous and I always order the soup, salad pizza special and it is under $10.00. They have lots of Greek food as well as the standard burger and fries. It is not fancy but always delicious!
