A nice quiet little gem along Henderson Highway close to the perimeter. Fresh salad and soup specials everyday. The same owner that owns the Grace Cafe at City Hall. Nice friendly and fast service. Be back when in the area.
Always a great soup or other menu item to enjoy at Grace cafe. The ambiance is great and peaceful. I had an amazing Thai chicken wrap to go today and realized I never did a review... fresh homemade multigrain breads on their sandwiches which taste scrumptious. This restaurant is a little gem in North Kildonan that the rest of the city needs to discover. Well done Grace Cafe! Only one Psalm away from coming back again!!!
Went for lunch one day a while back. The service was super friendly. The food tasted great and was so fresh. I am definitely going to go back.
This was my first time here, and I really enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was fresh and tasty. Very comfortable atmosphere.
Small menu but the stuff that's on it is pretty good! The m&m mocha is delicious. I usually get he turkey sandwich and add cheese to it and get it with s side of soup. The soups I've tried from them have always been good too. Nice place to go for a light lunch if your looking for something smaller & quick. It's a little refreshing being somewhere that doesn't have huge packed menu!
My favourite lunch spot!. I love this place because of the friendly atmosphere and the "christian" element with daily scripture. Everything is yummy but my favourite is the almond, feta and craisin salad. It's the only thing I ever order now!!
Yummy Light Foods. The broccoli cheddar soup is fantastic! Their sandwiches are light, tasty and affordable. The service was fantastic. I would recommend Grace Cafe for a lunch with friends or having something light.
A great place for a light lunch. The menu is small but the items on it are tasty. I had a pasta and salad combo for lunch and it was delicious. My husband tried one of the turkey melts with a salad and really enjoyed it. The service was fast, friendly and professional. During our Saturday afternoon visit everyone in there appeared to be in their twenties with the exception of one couple who I would guess was in their fifties. Overall a very pleasant dining experience and will be returning.
This place is awesome! There food is delicious and easy to enjoy even for picky eaters! Some people feel like it's too religious, to that I say get over your self! Most of the customers or older and it seems like they did a good job for the area they're in! I would advise people who demand attention right away to look around, often times there is 3-4 people during the rush that are working, that means 1 person serves 14 tables and 1 gets drinks and 1 makes food, and then one floats helping out! The service is amazing when you realize how hard they work just to make you feel important! Most places close between lunch and dinner to re-organize between rushes, so the fact that these guys stay open and prepare for the following rush while staff goes down to 2 people maybe 3, and the service is still good if you realize all the work they're doing behind the scenes! I admire this cafe and for everyone who thinks they can run it better just remember that it is a small business, they don't have the same supplier hook-ups big chains companies do and they may not have the resources to keep more people during the day! So don't expect a 5 star dinning room, expect exactly what it's called, a cafe! I also think it's cool that they don't push what they believe on you, they don't even mention anything about the bible or whatever they believe! So when you go, don't expect earls or tony Roma's, expect a small cafe with great people a great food and somewhere that you can sit for 4 hours and not be rushed to pay or be pushed to order more!
Soup and a Sandwich. We went during the evening recently and there was a mix of ages with the other customers and certainly not dominated by senior citizens.
The soup was wonderful, and the sandwich certainly tasty. All in all, a pretty good deal for less than $9. We split a dessert too; however I don't remember what it was. All I can remember is wishing that I had seen the Pumpkin Cheesecake on the menu board before we ordered and started eating the dessert.
I really didn't find it all that Christian. I'm an agnostic and a pretty vocal critic of organized religion in general. Other than a board by the coffee bar with a Psalm and maybe one or two other things, the decor isn't in-your-face religious.
All in all, it's a great spot for a light meal. I wonder if they still have the pumpkin cheesecake?
Great place for a lunch or a light supper. Grace Cafe is a great place to go for lunch or a light supper. I'm not sure what people mean when they say it's too Christian, I don't get that vibe at all. I can also assure you that not everybody who goes there is in their "triple digits". The pasta sampler is great, the sandwiches are delicious, and the hot drinks are even better! I have been going to Grace Cafe for a long time and I will continue to go there for a long time.
Love their veggie bagel!!
Very Good. Hearty sandwiches and tasty soups dominate the menu. A cottage style home converted into a casual dining experience. Young servers provide refreshing politeness and occasional performances are staged there (a prevailing theory being these events may be predominantly religiously themed... FYI). Good food, if a bit out of the way, depending on your HQ.
Absolutely love it's religious faith-based context. Only wish they'd bring back late evening weekend live music.
Love it. I love going to Grace Cafe, for just drinks, or a small meal. Their hot chocolate with whiped cream and m'n'm's is awesome! Also, their chicken cesar wrap is great, tastes very healthy, and comes with cute little carrots as a side. I don't enjoy their soup, as it is not homemade, and taste too "out of the can' for me. Their deserts are unreal! Best banana cream pie in Winnipeg. Although they are pricey, very worth it.
A real treat. This place has such a good environment, nice and cozy. Love the food, great anytime, wish they were open on Sundays too. love the veggie bagel, the thai chicken wrap the thai pasta, and all the desserts are great too! Could eat here every day. Wish the menu was the same at the downtown location. Decent prices too.
Tasty Desserts. We went out last night to try someplace new and decided on Grace Cafe. It's small and you can almost miss it because the sign for the dentist's office in the same building is huge. The waitress we had was super friendly.
I had the small portion of Thai pasta with a cup of soup. The pasta was really tasty. The soup was nothing special but good. I had a London Fog to drink which is Earl Grey tea made with milk and a shot of vanilla flavouring. It was SO GOOD. This was a basically perfect sized meal for me.
Then we decided to have dessert. We all tried something different and they were all really fabulous. The serving sizes are HUGE. I couldn't finish my piece and took about 1/3 of it home for tonight.
We stayed for 2.5 hours talking and no one tried to encourage us to leave. The restaurant never got full but you know how some wait staff will get impatient with you just sitting there for a couple of hours, that didn't happen here.
The menu isn't really made for a full dinner but I would definitely go back for lunch or an evening dessert out.
A nice treat. My girlfriend raves about this place and although I can see why she likes it, I'm not sure what has her so smitten. The food is always fresh and it's very nice but the selection is so-so and not particularly to my tastes. It certainly doesn't mean it's bad! But the limited selection, and having no daily specials turns me off. It's a cozy little atmosphere that I would suggest to a friend if they wanted cozy, quiet and simple. I would enjoy going a couple times a year but this won't ever be my go-to place.
Grace is great. There is more to Grace that meets the eye. Very comfortable surroundings, wonderful atmosphere and of course the menu is both healthy and inexpensive; a rare combo these days. Plus the variety of hot drinks are unusual and inventive thanks to some creative inspirations. I highly recommend Grace Cafe as a stop after a shop.
Loved it. I just moved into the area just off Henderson Hwy. I've been to the grace cafe a couple of times and have loved it. We recommended it to our friends. I haven't found a place with friendlier staff than at the Grace cafe.

Awesome coffee and lunch spot. I have been going to Grace Cafe for 12 years now. I particularily love that they ARE small and personal, the staff is friendly and helpful, and their food and drinks are amazing. I have tried many things there, among the best are the turkey sandwich on fresh-baked bread, stuffed with sliced cucumber and their house dressing, with a side Greek salad, and to drink, an M&M Mocha Latte, covered in REAL whipped cream, not that fake stuff Tim Horton's puts on their cafe mochas. I've also had the veggie bagel (very very good), and their desserts are to die for. Schmoo torte, Oreo cheesecake, carrot cake, dark chocolate cake, and really any dessert that they have, will be scrumptious.
5 out of 5 stars. DELICIOUS.
Endless amazing options!. Over the many years I've been going to the Grace Cafe it never dissapoints. The food is exceptional and the bread always fresh tasting.
For pasta there is the Thai pasta and the Herb and Feta. My personal favorite is the Thai. It is a wonderous blend of exotic flavor but not so hot that it leaves your mouth burning. The Herb and Feta is also very delicious, and is a better option if your not as hungry or if slurping noodles isn't your thing.
The wraps and sandwichs are fully loaded and worth the price. They make a good lunch along with the many delectable soups.
For drinks you should always go for the Grace's hot drinks. The cold drinks pale in comparison to other restaurants. My personal favorite is the Chai Latte, it has a pungent flavor but is soothing at the same time. Another good option are the Steamers, my favorite being the Heavenly Hash for those that like hazelnut. For first timers or kids I'd reccomend the hot chocolate. This treat topped with MnM's and whipped cream can please everyone.
Now my favorite part, dessert. If you have already eaten a meal at the Grace you may be full but not to worry, you can take out the many tantalizing treats for another day. The cheesecakes are by far the best in the city. For first timers I'd reccomend Skor or Oreo cheesecake. Around Thanksgiving they make a tart pumpkin cheesecake for pumpkin lovers. Also they make a mean banana cream pie.
Cute Cafe, small & delish Menu. I've been going to Grace Cafe on and off for years since it opened. I'm amazed that the quality has been maintained and the menu has gone from small to just a tiny bit bigger. Order anything - it's really all good and homemade. The Caessar salad is especially good. My favorite is the Veggie Bagel with a cup of soup. Good coffees too - go for the small cap - the large is immense! It's super busy at lunch time but they do take reservations! Enjoy.
My 1st time there will be the 1st of many! What an amazing quaint little Cafe! The service is incredible and the food is perfect for a light lunch. A great place for a coffee and desert! All the tasty deserts are baked and decorated on site! Presentation is everything, but texture, taste and top notch quality is everything else that Grace Cafe achieves! Looking forward to many more visits to this establishment!
If they offered a baking and decorating workshop, I'd be all over it!
Love this place! The food is always fresh and well prepared. The staff are always friendly and go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. We have dined in a few times but we mainly order takeout. The food always feels just like a home cooked meal, only better because I didn’t have to make it! Excellent salads, sandwiches, pasta and desserts. The bread is hands down the best!
I just had my first lunch at the Grace Cafe and I will definitely be back! The coffee was good and hot, my veggie bagel was absolutely delicious, and I could’ve eaten a barrel of the sweet potato curry soup. So, so scrumptious! The staff was attentive, warm and friendly. Love the Bible verses! A perfect place for lunch with a friend.
Everyone is super nice here. Food is fantastic and it is very cute and nice inside. Very cozy. Definitely recommend trying!
My wife and I came here for the first time and we had a great experience. We had warm and friendly service, great tasting food and overall we enjoyed our time there.
I love this place! My first time here was just awesome. I came here with my husband and we ordered two slices of cake and two iced coffee. The one that made impression to me the most is the Oreo cheesecake. Love it !!! 😝😝😝 try it to believe it! The service is awesome too, they're attentive and they always smile. I'd definitely come back.
We enjoyed our visit to this cozy spot. We had great service, the food came out promptly, and the staff were friendly. Would highly recommend the corn beef melt especially if you get it on their made in house sour dough! 😌👌
