Review Denny's - Winnipeg

I am really appreciating the Dennys staff today. They are all so friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing as well. In times like these it really made a difference in my day for staff to go the extra mile.

Dennys is always a sure bet for great food, great service and great prices!! Today was no exception!! It was our first time here! I had the 55 plus Chicken Club and Fries. The coffee was fresh and tasted good. My husband enjoyed the All American Slam. He had sausage rather than choice of bacon. The hash browns were done to perfection.

We were a group, that came in with 5 kids. The kids were being kids, the staff were all very friendly, kind and patient with them. The food was amazing. This was my first time eating here, I ordered a burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had at a restaurant. Everything was delicious. I would definitely visit again in the future.

Nancy was amazing. She was so friendly. She checked on me and when I gave her a favourable review of the food she assured me that she would pass that on to the kitchen. I then overheard her letting the kitchen know how much I enjoyed my food. She then thanked them for providing great food. I really appreciated her enthusiasm for serving others!

The people here are great! I got Cinnamon pancake and it's really delicious. The texture is really nice. Caramelized top for that crunch when you take a bite. Make sure that you take a piece and dip into the cream on the side, instead of spreading the cream on top of the pancake so as not to melt the caramelized top of you want that crunchy texture. Pretty sweet so sweet tooth people would love this one.

Have been here 2 times in the last year. Both were fantastic visits. The staff is very friendly, our orders were exactly as expected and the food was also great. Definitely recommend this location. Check out the t-bone steak and eggs item. The cost for this is hard to beat

Can’t really say anything negative about my experience. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving. Our food order came within a reasonable time, and tasted pretty good (Southwest Eggs Benedict). Our water was topped up plenty of times, and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Our server was friendly and engaging. Over all my experience was pleasant!

Always my favourite all day breakfast restaurant. The best pancake puppies! One tuesday night me and my family having a nice dinner and one amazing lady paid for our food. Didn’t get a chance to thank her and the server. Thank you for the amazing experience. Will always go back here!

Server was very good and overall the meal was tasty 😋. It’s located at a truck stop 🛑 and overall clean. I ate here as I was staying at the hotel next door.

Had a grand slam. Everything was cold and tasted awful. Bacon was overdone and too salty, same with the sausages. Eggs were rubbery and pancakes were too dark, leathery and tasted like cardboard.

My go to place for after the bar!  Love the cheesy nachos after a night of drinking. Staff are always friendly and provide great service at 2 am :).

I was at this location for supper on the 28th of May, 2018, and ordered their caesar salad without the chicken. I made sure that they wouldn't include anchovies, since I am allergic to all seafoods. The only anchovies are the paste in the dressing I was informed that the bacon was done on the grill, which could have been used to grill fish.I opted out of the bacon. This left me with a plate covered in lettuce with about 1/3 of an avocado sliced. to top this off, they enhanced the meal with a scant serving of cheese. My bill reflected the $2.69 taken off for the chicken. My final bill - $13.15. <br/><br/>  Star rating? Guffaw!!  Forget any star rating.

Well, you get what you pay for...<br/>I ordered the Philly cheese steak, no onions. The server came back and said they use a kid so that would mean no peppers too...so I changed Oder to the burger, no onions. 10 mins later burger came with onions..<br/>My dad said his steak was good tho.

A consistently great place to go for late night snacks or late morning breakfasts or just anytime breakfast. Great coffee, fast service, consistent food. Would recommend checking them out sooner than later for the bacon event going on right now (see my picture)!

A nice place for brunch. Food presentation is quite different from the usual breakfast places. Friendly staff and fast service. I'll be back.

I LOVE DENNYS while the staff isn't the best, the food is really good. I only ever really get the breakfast plates but I've never been disappointed. It's also open 24 hours which is good. The location itself is really nice too

Horrible service and over priced for food quality. Waited a good 15 minutes to be seated when the place had tons of seating and staff. Once seated, we had our drink and food orders taken. This is when the service went from bad to beyond terrible. We received our coffees and that was the end of our waitress. It took about 40 minutes to receive our breakfast- pancakes, eggs and bacon. (Not pleasant when you have a hungry 1 and 3 year old). She kept walking around her area helping all her "regulars" and chit chatting with them. I had to call a waitress from another area over to ask for coffee (she was going table to table but never towards our table). The next time we saw our waitress was when she dropped off the bill and walked away. I went up to the front to pay and no one was there. My waitress saw me- said have a good day and left with one of the regulars for a cigarette instead of assisting me. Waited a good 5 minutes before any other staff member came to help me. <br/><br/>Unless you go Monday to Friday for breakfast don't expect to pay less than 10 for a basic breakfast. The food quality wasn't worth the price or the wait. <br/><br/>In a nutshell- don't bother coming here unless you are one of their country regulars.

Horrible service!. Sat around for 20 minutes to get seated, yea I got that it was busy. Then a group walks in they get served first. They brought us a menu and we waited another half hour to get no service. No order of drinks nor food. But there asking every other table if every things ok or if they needed anything. Horrible service! Get your act together! Horrible! I do not recommend others to try their luck. Won't see me in that Dennys again. Flying J Denny in headingley. Very disappointed.

The Salisbury House in deep St. James was closed for reno's. Drive a little further to go to the one by the perimeter, apparently it's gone... Denny's can't be THAT bad...... Waited 10 minutes to get acknowledged, seated, got served quickly enough but the food took 30 minutes. For a Clubhouse and breakfast. Everything was cold. Cold rubber (and completely yellow, just a touch of egg white, weird) eggs. Cold toast. Toast on the clubhouse was cold. Cold fries. Cold hash browns. The root beer was cold though! Somehow the bacon wasn't cold. This food, and experience made good old Salisbury House look like a GOURMET restaurant. I'm embarrassed that I spent $30 there tonight. The server was nice so I did tip, at least he got something out of the deal.

We just ate here and it was delicious an our server (Katie) was super friendly and helpful! Very good at her job.

This place tends to be hit and miss, and only capable of two extremes. I either get awesome food and service or absolutely terrible. But damn,when its good its freaking awesome! I especially love love love the salads or the Moon Over My Hammy Sandwich!

Good food, great service, bad coffee!. First off, they have a great serving staff! I can't think of a time that the manager did not come by to check that everything was ok, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is consistently very good - nothing fantastic, but good taste and well cooked. Custom requests are always taken care of, and if a mistake is made they replace it with fresh right away. The only bad thinkg is they change their coffee about a year ago.... they had a very good coffee and now it is terrible. But there are lots of other options - they have several teas, and cold drinks to satisfy anyone. I am partial the their Orange Garden tea myself....

Terrible service, it took an half an hour to get drinks, another half an hour for food, and there were only 5 occupied tables. My dining companion enjoyed his meal but mine was so salty I could really have used that glass of water that never came. Then we couldn't find the waitress to get the bill, so we had to wait again at the till. Overall, an hour and 45 mins for less than mediocre food. The only upside, large trucks can park.

The server was great. And food was better than expected.

Typical Denny's food but GREAT service !. I stopped into meet an old school friend way out here as they drive a semi trailer and it's easy for rigs to park here at the Flying J.<br/>We decided to grab a bite at Denny's as we didn't have a lot of time. Our waitress seated us right away and brought us our requested beverages. The menu at Denny's is pretty much the same as I remember from many years in Vancouver with such classics as the Superbird and Moons Over My Hammy still present.<br/>After we ordered our food was brought out in a short time, drinks refilled and our waitress and even the manager came to check on us and ask if everything was OK. <br/>Yes everything was good. It was typical Denny's fare. It tasted OK...no complaints for fast food.<br/>I did appreciate the attentive friendly service though and would like to thank our server for a job well done.

Not a chance. Simply awful. Food was not good......I suppose that goes for any Denny's. So I wasn't expecting too much as far as quality. So I'm not really complaining. But really, is it a Denny's protocol to be slow? To take FOREVER to serve you or even look at you. Is there a sign in the back that says "when someone walks in, wait another 15 min to give them a chance to settle in, before you annoy them". Yikes. I give up. No more Denny's.

It was the worst dining experience I've ever had. I work in the service industry and I know how hard it can be sometimes but there was no excuse for that horrible of service. I was there with 5 other people and the server wasn't knowledgable about the food or even seemed to care. She never refilled our drinks or asked how the food was. After we ordered,we waited an entire hour (it was not busy at all) just for the server to tell us that they were out of nachos..which a friend had ordered,with no apology or anything. Which then we waited another 20 minutes for our food,that we could see sitting under the heating lamp. the order was all wrong but none of us said anything cause we didn't want to wait another hour to eat! I'm usually a good tipper but that was the first time ever I haven't tipped. They didn't give us a discount or an apology. I was extremely dissapointed. I will not be back there,and if you want good service,or don't want to wait an hour and 20 mins for your food..I would highly recommend going some place else.

Food was not great. Small portion for what I paid for. Would have been more satisfied having a McDonald's breakfast!

Ate here super late last night (or I guess we could say early morning), with 3 friends. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Waitress was so nice. Food was great. The food came on time as well. I will definitely return.

The time everything went wrong.... We used to go to Denny's on occasion. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great most of the time. The main problem was consistency - myself and my fellow diner would order something on a previous visit, order it again, and get something that was totally different. The first time the Nachos were great, the second you could barely find them under a pool of cheeze sauce. Just odd stuff like that on most visits. <br/><br/>We were back again and something was clearly VERY wrong. We were surrounded by unhappy customers in all directions that were having problems. It was shocking to see that every person seated in our area had a complaint or problem, and the servers seemed equally disturbed as they hurried around and tried to resolve multiple problems from at least half a dozen tables or more. <br/><br/>Somehow in the confusion, our orders were taken - a burger for my companion and a chicken burger for me. The food came out quickly despite multiple unhappy customers all around us waiting in frustration for their problems to be solved. Yup it came out quickly because it wasn't cooked! I bit into my chicken burger to discover a totally raw, pink piece of meat! I was so disgusted that I was pretty loud about my reaction and all the other diners around me couldn't help but laugh. Everyone was swapping stories, and it was clear that something was terribly wrong in the kitchen. One table only got three out of their four orders, another had raw chicken nuggets, others had the wrong food... It was a disaster. <br/><br/>Our server was embarrassed and apologetic, and offered me the option to reorder any meal on the menu for free, but I had totally lost my appetite from eating raw meat and had no trust in the kitchen based on the experience of myself and every other customer near us.

Very good food and I loved our server was very nice and bubbly

First time was amazing second time daughter spilt her milk so asked for rag/napkin and restaurant wasn't busy but took 15/20 minutes for server to come back with 2 napkins not impressed so we went again and waited 8 minutes to be seated because they were busy two people walk in behind us and get seated right away not impressed will not be going to this location ever again plus we drive from the northern part of the city to go so that was a waste of 30 minutes of driving to and from

The food and service here are decent. There's nothing amazing here but it's not terrible either.

This was a simple-to-construct low carb meal that I had at Denny’s recently. They’ve made it pretty easy by allowing you to construct your meal from available options. They let you pick any four items from their Grand Slam list, plus you can add up to two more selections for a moderate up-charge.
