The most amazing sushi in Winnipeg. My boyfriend and I honestly drive an hour and a half to pick it up and then another hour and a half to drive home with it to eat it and watch Netflix... It's that good. no complaints at all! Awesome service as well.

Finally Best Ramen in town! I had the beef ramen and my friend had the tempura ramen, the broth taste soooooo delicious! It's definitely worth the trip. Spreading the news now, I'm going to bring more friends next time. Keep up the good quality!

Huge bowls of ramen, it would really fill you up if you’re super hungry. I love their tasty broth. They put more slices of chashu than any other ramen restaurants. They have a variety of sushi on the menu if you’re up for sushi too. The sushi I would say is average.
My boyfriend and I have tried many sushi places and by far Kazoku is the best sushi place to go to! Our favorite rolls are salmon bakudan and alaska roll. Worth the $$, comes with 8 pieces per roll with a good amount of meat and not too much rice. And to top it off so much flavor!! Recommend this place for sure!
Great place for takeout. The sushi rolls are so fresh and the texture is soft and delightful. I love the sauces they use. My favourite rolls are the Philadelphia and the Sakura roll.
Best ramen in the city hands down. Korean food is good too and the sushi. I keep coming back for more. I always order the spicy chicken ramen its so good i get cravings for THIS ramen!! Will warm you right up on those cold winter days!!!! Ive eaten it in the summer too though because its just so good LOL.
Tried this place once and definitely coming back. The bibimbap was so good I kept on stealing some from my husband's bowl. I order the curry ramen soup. It was good too.
I've always ordered takeout and the sushi never fails to amaze me (I always get super excited when I get to order). Sushi is amazing and the price is worth the size of these things (they are big rolls with lots of fillings and not too much rice). I have yet to try to the Ramen and other dishes but so far I'm happy with this restaurant.

I got into Winnipeg & the 1st thing I did when I got to my hotel was look for good restaurant near me & Kazoku had some great reviews & Winnipeg has treated me great when it coms too food. So I get to the restaurant & it was packed to the gills which is always is a good sign. So I ordered the spicy seafood ramen which was a mistake there was mussels in it & if mussels are not super fresh they get a strong fishy flavor that takes over the dish & this was no exception. I also ordered the creepy rolls & the tuna belly sushi & these where great lots of flavor. I was disappointed but was probably my fault should have asked what was good & the sushi would bring me back for a second try.
Favourite spot in the south end of the the city. Their squash tempura is delicious. Ramen is good as well. The owner is always at the front and is the friendliest fellow. Only complaint is that I wish they served Gamjatang every day instead of just Thursdays as I would really love to try it.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Love the level.of organization and service speed provided. I loved that the menu had pictures.. food was served fast! Server was pleasant. Food was great, not salty which is a sign of good healthy cooking. Not too spicy. Lots of food for the price. Had sushi, one of the best I've tried definitely top 5. Very clean and great location. I have never gone a month without coming here. Everyone that knows me well enough, knows that this is my favorite restaurant in Winnipeg hands down. Even the owners know me. Sushi is always so good here. I try something new on the side whenever I can but I will always order they're spicy salmon don.
Been a regular here for a year now. The owners are always quick to say hello and offer friendly service. The ramen is great, especially the Curry Katsu. But I've tried many things on their menu and have never been disappointed!
We were frequent visitors when they first opened! But because I've been meal planning I am not there as often. Still love their creepy roll and even the simple tuna and salmon Maki as well as the chopped scallop! Always a delight here.
Came here for lunch with a co-worker. Apparently Tuesday is ramen day and all ramens are $10.95. We both got the spicy seafood ramen. Service was super quick and very attentive. The restaurant was quite clean and offered pretty good assortment of Japanese and Korean items.
I was craving ramen so that's what I got. It was very flavourful and the portion size was just right. The noodles were cooked spot on, and the soup was served piping hot! I have never had anything but ramen at Kazoku, but it looks as though their is quite the sushi selection as well!
Good value on ramen day, but a bit on the pricey side in my opinion at regular price.

I ordered the Miso ramen and was not disappointed. The only complaint I have is that their sushi was very disappointing. We ordered the scallop roll and it fell apart every single time we tried to pick it up with our chopsticks. However, it otherwise tasted just fine. I would definitely go back to this restaurant and try ordering something off their Korean menu, as it is a Korean ran sushi/ramen/Korean restaurant. VikiQ

We ate here often but this will be my first review.
I had white dragon roll and my wife had tempura ramen. The food taste really good and have a nice presentation. One of my favorite restaurant to dine in.
I've been enjoying the food here for years, so a positive review is long overdue. The owner and chefs are very friendly, and I've always had a good experience with the service.
My favourites are the Bibimbab, the Soon Tofu soup, and they make very good sushi as well. They serve Gamja Tang on thursdays, which is a spicy pork neck bone soup, I would recommend trying that one, too.
If you haven't been here, you should give it a try.
Got the Curry Katsu Ramen and it was ok. The noodles were kinda overcooked and too much broth. The katsu itself wasn't really that special. But their sushi rolls are so good, you can get 8-10 rolls per order (for just $5-$6 per order) so definitely worth the money for all the sushi lovers out there. Went here once and one of the servers gave us a complimentary Gyoza as it was taking a while for our orders to be cooked. I think it was a really nice gesture to their customers.
Best sushi in the city as far as I'm concerned. If you come, make sure you get at least one Dynamite roll, this place does them best! The prices are reasonable and service is great. My go-to sushi and ramen place on any given night!
Incredible Japanese food, full of flavour and very appetizing. For dinner, I ordered their beef ramen and California rolls. This has been the best Japanese restaurant I've eaten in so far. The Ramen was a large serving, it had plenty of beef. It was perfect. The rolls was great, it was served together with the wasabi and ginger pickles. The restaurant felt so very cozy and warm, along with the great service. The waiters attended to me very well, once in a while they would check with me and ask if I needed anything else. The price is fair for such a big portion it would be just right for two person to share. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Had the curry katsu ramen. The portion size was very generous and tasty; I asked for it to be extra spicy and they fulfilled my request. It was the best ramen I've had in Winnipeg to date (I've also tried Ramen Aji Kura and the kimchi ramen at Wakoya Sushi - both were OK but this place is superior). I'll likely be back at some point in the near future. Definitely recommended.
I think they make the best chashu (pork) for their ramen because it melts in your mouth and also I like how they give you sauce to dip. I would definitely go back for their ramen.
I really like everything I've had here. Sushi and korean food and appetizers. All really good. :3 I like their takoyaki the best. I think I would go there more for the korean food though. It just sucks that it's so far from me!
This is my favourite place to eat in my area, I wish they had more all over the city! The service is great, the manager is always welcoming and knows me by name...(I eat there often). Fresh food, great price! Awesome for vegans and gluten sensitive people!
I've gone here twice now with my mom and the service and food has been wonderful both times with a wide selection of Korean and Japanese cuisine. mom is on a pretty restricted diet, but they were able to seamlessly accommodate
One of the better, if not one of the best ramen places in town. The owner is very enthusiastic about the food and even educated me on how to eat bibimbap (it was my first time). Tonkatsu in curry sauce is a must to try.
Been here a handful of times and each time was great. I really can't complain about this place, for it never disappoints.
They have a large menu so there is definitely something for everyone. Good sushi menu that has everything from your standard California, spicy tuna and tempura rolls to more specialty sushi like the Five guys and the Sakura or Volcano rolls (which are my favourite from this place!)
If you want to skip the sushi, Kazoku has other Japanese items as well. A wide variety of Ramens and Donburi bowls, as well as my go-to, the Pork Katsu Curry or the Katsu Curry Ramen.
Or, skip the Japanese all together and have some Korean. I personally love, love love Korean food, but I have yet to try their Korean menu. I do have friends that had their Soondubu Jjigae and Bibimbap and said that they were quite good!
All and all and great place to try. Really close to the university so they could get busy with students, especially during the evenings and on weekends!

Great food, Great Service... BUT............ I've gone to Kazoku a few times, I do enjoy the food, and the service. It was busy on the days I went to eat and I can tell it can be stressful for the staff. I hear the sushi chefs behind the sushi bar, sometimes yelling out and in unfriendly tones, ordering around the waitresses, giving out loud sighs and I always feel like they're staring at me when I eat. Awkward. It's a small restaurant, customers can hear you. If they are the owners, it is no way to treat their staff especially with customers around. I recommend the "managers" find a way of communication without disturbing the customers. Taking out your stress on your staff, is very unprofessional. The last thing your customers want to hear is a bunch of yelling when their waitresses are very good at their jobs. Another thing, one of my friends told to me to try the FIVE GUYS. I still haven't tried it because my waitress told me, apparently FIVE GUYS is not allowed to be ordered when the restaurant is busy, well... I was willing to pay for it. oh well. I will still keep coming to KAZOKU, it is one of my favourite KOREAN/JAPANESE places, and from the reviews, it seems the family who owns it are really nice people, and I would like to see that!

My husband ordered a few rolls and I had the spicy chicken bulgogi. The spicy chicken was delicious and there was enough for me to have lunch for tomorrow! The service was really great and made good recommendations.
Great ramen, friendly service, fair prices and portions!. What a pretty restaurant! I had the spicy chicken ramen that was really great ... great broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and the heat level actually had my eyebrows sweating! If the rest of the menu is even half as good, I think I've found my new favorite restaurant (and that's despite living waay outside of Winnipeg!) .... I can't wait to try the rest of the menu but it's gonna be tough to order something other than the ramen!
Go to restaurant for Korean food in Winnipeg. My friend took me to this restaurant when I visited Winnipeg this summer.
And this restaurant is by far the one of the best Korean restaurants I've been to outside of Toronto area.
Their services were superb and the wait time for the food was relatively short.
I highly recommend getting sontofu and curry katsu.
Try the Korean and ramen dishes here. We have been visiting this place faithfully for the last year, enjoying the excellent food and the warmth of the owner (who seems to work all hours of the day and night). Recommendations: the miso ramen is excellent! Tender pork belly with a rich and complex broth--very filling. You can ask for the spice level you like. For Korean food, I order the soon tofu soup with seafood, which is the best in the city imho and equal to what we had in Korea. The bibimbab is also wonderful and has that crispiness to the rice you want with a hot stone bowl. I've tried the sushi, which is pretty good, but I would always go with the Korean and ramen here.
Amazing! If all the awesome reviews don't already speak for themselves, let me elaborate. The sushi come in large rolls, with delicious sauce (where necessary, not wet sushi at all) with large portions of fish inside. The ramen is well worth the $12.00 with a lot of flavor. If you come on Tuesday they have it for a little under $10.00. For the quality of food you get the price is very reasonable. Also, the service here is unbeatable. It is a family owned placed and they run it that way! Servers are attentive and can help point out all the hidden gems in their menu. They know both my boyfriend and I by name and we get the warmest welcome every single time we come in. This is a MUST visit in Winnipeg and I promise you will not be disappointed!
We were absolutely amazed at the finest quality of the food that was served! Looking at the food was like looking at a work of art. We will definitely come back for the Monday and Tuesday specials. Well worth the price, if a bit pricey!
You don't even need soya sauce!! That pretty much sums it up. You know a place has good sushi if you don't need soya sauce with the rolls. Food came out really fast, and everything was so good. Got the teriyaki chicken lunch box, a dynamite roll, and the California roll. Friend got the beef teriyaki lunch box, flame roll, and the chicken roll. Everything was soooo good. I usually dip my rolls in soya sauce but I actually thought it tasted better without! Food has so much flavour. Small place, but decor is very nice and the place is super clean. Owner was really friendly and server was quick and very nice. We will DEFINITELY be back here. Definitely the best sushi place I've been to I winnipeg.

Excellent!. A friend and I went here for lunch on a Saturday and we ordered a shrimp tempura, salmon bakudan roll and a beef bulgogi and beef tereyaki box. Together it came to about $40. The food was excellent! Lots of meat in the boxes and nice blend of veggies as well. The salmon bakudan was good, unfortunately the soya sauce hid the taste (but that's my fault) and the shrimp tempura had a very nice panko crust. We arrived at about 12:00 and shortly thereafter the place was packed. Definately recommended!!
In addition, the volcano sushi dish was also phenomenal - not too spicy and a large quantity!

High recommend this place. Actually I don't bc I don't want it to get too packed that I can't eat here when I want. Reasonable prices for exceptionally tasty sushi rolls. The sushi chefs definitely know what they're doing. We came around 7:30 pm on a Friday. The wait was really long but that's because it was Friday, it's good there, and it isn't a big restaurant. I'm sure if I came back at a less busy time I would have no complaints. We had two sapporros on draft, the five guys app, creepy roll (one of my faves), white dragon roll, and the one I'm coming back for... DYNAMITE ROLL. We also finished our meal with the miso ramen with pork. Total about $80. The size of the fish on the dynamite roll was a mouthful. They give you so much fish here and don't charge as much as the fancy sushi restaurants.
Can you say YUMMY?. Living in Fort Richmond area there are several sushi restaurants, but none stand up to Kazoku! The food is absolutely amazing, and as another reviewer put it - addictive! I have tried almost everything but the soups (personal preference, not a soup eater) and have enjoyed everything. The staff are super friendly! The owner is a gem, he always makes you feel welcome. A most "eat"!
We went here 4 days in one week, the food is addictive. Our fave is the extra spicy curry Katzu ramen and the creepy roll.

Great Food!. When I moved to Winnipeg I had a hard time looking for a place serving good Ramen. I had the Miso Ramen while my wife had the Beef Teriyaki Bento. Both tasted great and the price of the food was quite reasonable too.
Our server and the owner were nice and very friendly. Definitely coming back!

You can try, but you won't find a restaurant in Winnipeg that serves a more generous portion of sashimi and donburi. Totally worth what you pay for.

Yummy Korean Food. Ordered the Takoyaki, Dukbokki, and the Bibimbap and it was sooooo good. Everything was full of flavour, and did not disappoint.
Service was fantastic. They were very knowledgeable about the menu and were consistent in asking how everything was, refilling drinks, etc. Not too much or too little. It's a newer place, so it's more modern and chic.
Some downsides: place is a bit tiny. The sushi that I tried from my friend was not very good though, rice was very soggy. Also with the Korean food, the only sides are Kimchi. Compared to Momo or Kimbaek where you get like 4 kinds of sides with your dish, this restaurant does not do that. Which was a bit disappointing. But other than that, I was fairly happy.
Soon Dobu Chigae. Decided to try this out here because I have only ordered soon dobu chigae at Momo and Kimbaek.
The soup was so delicious! I was disappointed in their lack of banchan though for ordering Korean food. I guess this restaurant is more Japanese so that would make sense. I would be more impressed if they added these side dishes in the future :)
Curry Ramen tasted watered down, but maybe that's the way it's supposed to be cooked? I am probably biased because I love Thai , Chinese and Vietnamese style curry.

A simple yet elegant atmosphere. Great service and staff. Ordered the Alaska roll and chopped scallop roll, both were very fresh. The bibimbap was very flavourful - only wished there were potatoes that came with it. Overall this restaurant was very good and I would highly recommend it! Hope to come back here soon.

It was a fun experience of having ramen 🍜 here in Winnipeg. The broth was delicious, and the meat was tender and almost melted in the mouth. The rest of the dish complemented the two. The place was cozy. Ordered Takoyaki with Saki which came out together for me and my wife to have while waiting for our ramen.

My all time fave japanese restau. Love the ramen and sushi. Sushi is big than any other restau I've tried. (Worth the price.) Fast service too even when it's busy time. If there's a higher rate than 5 starts, would definitely give it to Kazoku 🧡

I went in hungry as can be and was served very quickly. The waitress was very courteous and the staff was obeying the current social distancing guidelines to the best of their abilities and I appreciated that. Every dish I ordered was beautifully presented and tasted as good or better than it looked. I highly recommend the assorted nigiri and soba noodles. This was my first time here and I can't wait to go back!
